"Ah, Ananias, there you are. I was wondering where you were."

"Lord Leo," Ananias greeted, bowing respectfully for good measure. "My apologies. Did you need me for something?"

Leo shook his head. "No, I was simply curious, that's all. You're usually so present and easy to find, so when I realized that I hadn't seen you around today, I decided to ask around for you."

Ananias let out an uncomfortable grunt. "And I take it that no one knew where I was?"

Leo nodded. "Precisely. In a way, I am actually somewhat impressed. Few people have the skills necessary to slip away unnoticed by so many."

"I highly doubt it's based on any actual skill on my part, but, um, thanks for being impressed, I guess."

Leo chuckled. True, Ananias was an oddball in his own way, but oddballs were something that Leo had become accustomed to. And besides, Ananias was certainly a bit more subdued than the other oddballs in his life, so he appreciated the change of pace. "Certainly. Now, about those whereabouts of yours..."

"Oh, right." Ananias raised the knapsack that he was holding. Just by looking at it, Leo could tell that there was something inside, but obviously not enough to fill it. "I didn't have anything to do today, so I thought that I'd do a little bit of fishing."

Leo raised an eyebrow in a mixture of both amusement and surprise. "Fishing? So I suppose we can add 'fisherman' to your ever-growing list of skills?"

"Well, um, no," Ananias said, placing the knapsack down. "I'm not very good at it. I just sort of do it whenever I feel like it and whenever I have the chance. Which isn't often for either of those conditions, but I do enjoy it when I do."

"A casual fisherman then?"

Ananias thought it over and shrugged. "More like a dabbling fisherman. Like, I know how to fish, but only enough to satiate what I like about it. I'm definitely no pro."

"So you keep saying about yourself," Leo replied. He then curiously eyed the sack of supposedly caught fish on the ground and inquisitively held his chin. "So, how did it go? Did you receive a respectable boon for your efforts?"

Ananias shook his head. "No. At best, there's only enough for one person, if we were thinking about eating it, I mean. Maybe two. But hey, we can use it as fertilizer for the plants, so yeah, there's at least that."

Leo nodded. "Yes, certainly." He looked back at Ananias. "You know, for a man who says he only dabbles in the hobby, you actually possess a respectable amount of knowledge about it. Makes one suspect that there's more to it than what you're letting on."

"Not much, I'm afraid. My father was the one who introduced me to fishing, so if it seems like I know more than I let on, it's because I learned all I know from him."

Leo's eyes widened in surprise. "Your father? Well, isn't this a welcome surprise!"

Ananias raised an eyebrow inquisitively. "What's so 'welcome surprise' about it?"

"Come now, Ananias! Shouldn't it be fairly obvious? Your family is well-known for many things, but fathers certainly aren't one of them."

"Ah, so that's it." Ananias folded his arms and thought for a moment. "Yeah, I guess the men in our family sort of get the shaft, huh?"

"I'll say! You yourself barely mention your father, let alone any other man in your family!"

"Well, I mean, what's there to talk about? Besides me, every other guy in the family married into it."

"And you don't think that such men are worth talking about?!"

Ananias gave Leo a funny look. "Well, you sure started caring a lot about this topic all of a sudden," he muttered.

"Can you blame me? The men in your family arguably strike just as much intrigue as the women do! I mean, what exactly does it take to join such a prestigious family in the first place?"

"Well, 'prestigious' isn't the word I would use, but to answer your question: nothing, really. You just date an Anna and if it works out, then you're in. It's as simple as that."

"Oh, come now! Surely even you realize that such an answer isn't enough to stave off one's curiosity!"

Ananias let out an exasperated sigh. "Well, what do you want me to say? Do you want me to describe every single guy to you? Because I hate to break it to you, but we're all just guys. Or, at least, that's all I've ever felt about them."

Leo couldn't believe his ears. "What? B-but surely, as the only male members of your family, there is more to it than that!"

Ananias gave him an irritated glare. "Men aren't THAT rare in the family, you know. I mean, sure, they still outnumber us, but my nieces, cousins, aunts, and grandmothers have to come from somewhere. Annas aren't some mythological creature that can just replicate themselves an indefinite amount of times."

"But do you really feel no camaraderie amongst one another? No bond, no special relationship, nothing at all?"

Ananias pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. "Look, at best, we just get together at family reunions, go out for a drink, and talk about what our Annas drag us into. That's really all we have time to talk about in such a short amount of time and that's assuming we have enough time in the day to dedicate some time to just us guys to begin with. Annas move fast, so we've got to move fast with them. And if we do get a chance to talk, then talking about what our Annas are up to is the easiest and most relatable thing to talk about."

Leo noticeably cringed at the thought. "Well... when you put it like that, it all sounds a bit... disturbing."

Ananias simply shrugged. "You learn to accept it eventually."

"So the only other man you know intimately within your family is your father?"

Ananias nodded. "Pretty much."

"Well, I suppose that's something, at least. May I ask what your father is like, then?"

"Well, you could, but I've really got to figure out what to do with this fish, and to be honest, I'm sort of all... questioned out at the moment. No offense, but you went in really hard on asking about us guys. Like, really hard."

Leo blushed as he cleared his throat. "Y-yes, well, I just felt that I stumbled onto something quite fascinating is all."

"Well, I hate to break it to you, but my father would describe himself as 'just some guy' too. There's really nothing to talk about."

"Yes, well, I disagree. I think that, by hearing more about your father, I could learn a great deal more about you. You must admit, you're a bit vague when it comes to talking about yourself, even if everything you say seems honest."

"Well, I'd argue that I'm a bit 'vague' to begin with, but if this is something that you really want to pursue then, well... I guess if we both have time, we could talk about it while we fish. I made a lot of memories with my dad while we were fishing, so maybe the two of us fishing together can help get some stories out of me."

Leo smiled. "Fishing, huh? Yes, I think I may enjoy that. Very well then. The next time you find time to fish, I'll accompany you."

Ananias nodded. "Sounds like a plan."

Author's Note #1: The supports after Leo's will be Keaton, Subaki, and Mozu. Then, I'll finally be able to get to the Warriors supports.

Author's Note #2: The Fire Emblem Warriors poll is up on my profile. Vote for which five characters you want for Ananias to support with from that game the most and, in the end, ten characters will be selected for Ananias to support with, so make your voices heard. Happy voting!

Author's Note #3: As Ananias has no real connection to the Three Houses cast and has no real reason to be there anyway, there will be no Three Houses supports for him. I know that an Anna is in Three Houses, but if we went by that logic, Ananias would have to support with every Fire Emblem character that has ever existed, which would be unrealistic to do, at least for one person. If any of you want to do that yourselves, however, then you have my blessing, it's just that I won't be the one doing it. Sorry.
