"Lord Leo, I heard that you wanted to see me?"
Leo turned away from what he was studying and smiled. "Ah, Ananias, perfect timing. Come and take a look at this." Ananias walked up to the desk where Leo was standing and studying by and looked down at what Leo was referring to. After a brief moment of silence, Leo asked, "So, what do you think?"
"Um," Ananias anxiously rubbed the back of his neck, "what do I think about what?"
"About the lakes," Leo simply answered.
"The lakes… on this map?"
"Well, yes." Leo gave him a funny look. "What else would I be referring to?"
Ananias shrugged. "The map itself?"
"Yes, the lakes on the map, right?"
Ananias' eyes narrowed in confusion. "Why are we talking about lakes?"
"Well, why wouldn't we be talking about lakes?" Leo innocently asked. "Are the two of us not fishing enthusiasts?"
"'Fishing enthusiasts'?" Ananias incredulously repeated. "Since when?"
"Since… since we went fishing together."
"That one time?! Fishing one time was enough to turn you into a fishing enthusiast?!"
Leo blushed and coughed uncomfortably into one of his fists. "Y-yes, well, I thought it was quite nice, you see, with just how quiet and relaxing it was. And when you really take the time to look, there's a surprising amount of depth that goes into it. Weather patterns, species' mating seasons, the species themselves, their habitats, their eating habits -"
"Gods," Ananias folded his arms, "you really fell down the rabbit hole, didn't you?"
"Well, it's your fault!" Leo cried, slamming his hand against the desk in a mixture of both anger and embarrassment. "You're the one who introduced me to the hobby, and now, for some reason, it's all I can think about!" He pointed an accusatory finger at him. "You! You did this to me! Now how do you plan on taking responsibility for it?!"
Now it was Ananias' turn to give him a funny look. "Taking responsibility… for giving you a hobby you actually like?"
"Yes!" Leo hotly cried.
"Um, just go fishing, I guess?"
"Exactly! That's precisely the reason why I called you here! To get your opinion on future fishing spots!"
"Really? Because at this point, I think you know more about fishing than I do."
"Yes… well… a second opinion from a veteran fisherman never hurts, right?"
Ananias sighed. "Look, I've already told you, I only dabble in it. I just know enough to do what I want to do and then I just leave. It's not even really the fishing part I like, it's the therapeutic part."
"Y-yes, exactly! I enjoy the therapeutic aspects of fishing too!"
"Then ask someone else who fishes for an opinion! I mean, I can't be the only one who fishes around here! Heck, other people would probably be better at it than me!"
"W-well, I chose you, alright?!"
"Well then, maybe you shouldn't next time!"
Leo let out an exasperated sigh before pinching the bridge of his nose and quietly asking, "My apologies, but… did we not bond the last time we went fishing together?"
Ananias' eyes widened in surprise. "Huh?" He then awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, yeah, I guess. I mean, it was kind of hard not to, considering the fact that we both bared our souls a little to one another and all."
"And… you thought nothing else of it besides that?"
"S-should I have? I mean, the entire point was so that you could learn more about me, right? And you did. I just happened to ask a little bit about you in return and you just ended up reciprocating. Other than that, we just sat around and fished and then went back home."
"So… you don't feel any closer to me or to fishing?"
"I mean, I do feel closer to you and all, i just don't feel the need to fish with you to do it, you know?"
Leo nodded. "Ah, yes, I see. Forgive me, Ananias. I was… a bit too overzealous it seems."
"About fishing?"
"About our time together fishing. It's just like you said, we both bared our souls to one another and, well, I told you things that I had honestly never thought that I would tell anyone. But I did, and it was admittedly quite freeing. I had thought that the feeling over the experience had been mutual, so I thought that we had a special connection -"
"Which would lead us to being fishing buddies?"
Leo embarrassingly nodded. "Y-yes, that it would lead us to being fishing buddies." Leo covered his eyes with his hand. "Gods, it sounds so silly when one says it out loud."
Ananias nodded. "Yeah, it kind of does." He then glanced down at the map and said, "You know, if fishing really means that much to you now, I could still go with you if you want."
Leo shook his head. "Please, don't force yourself to fish on my behalf. If you don't want to accompany me, then I'll simply find someone else to."
"Oh, come on. I never said I hated fishing, did I? And besides, some more rest and relaxation would probably do me good."
Leo looked at him warily. "So, you're absolutely sure that you wouldn't mind accompanying me on my fishing trips?"
Ananias shook his head. "I mean, now that I know how much it means to you for me to be there, no, I don't mind at all."
Once Leo was confident that Ananias meant what he said, his overwhelming excitement became extremely evident on his face. "Excellent!" He looked back down at the map. "Now, the last time we went fishing, we went here, but based on my research, the fish here don't seem to respond to our bait and lures, but the fish in this lake do, so I propose that until we get new ones, we fish here with the bait and lures that we already have, and once the new ones come in, we can try fishing here again."
Ananias looked down at where Leo was looking. "I don't know. That lake looks a bit a ways away."
Leo held his chin and nodded. "Yes, we'll have no choice but to wake up early if we want to get some good fishing time in and make it back in time at a reasonable hour."
"How early are we talking about?"
"Well, based on the distance and our schedules, I'd say that we'd have to begin traveling at sunrise."
Ananias' eyes widened in surprise. "Sunrise?!"
Leo nodded. "Quite the exciting prospect, don't you think? Being one with nature as the sun slowly rises on a brand new day." He shook his head and sighed at the thought. "It's going to be great, I just know it."
Ananias grimaced as he heard Leo talk. "Gods, I've created a monster."
Author's Note #1: And this ends the supports with Leo. The next supports will be Keaton, Subaki, and Mozu. Then, I'll finally be able to get to the Warriors supports.
Author's Note #2: The Fire Emblem Warriors poll is up on my profile. Vote for which five characters you want for Ananias to support with from that game the most and, in the end, ten characters will be selected for Ananias to support with, so make your voices heard. Happy voting!
Author's Note #3: As Ananias has no real connection to the Three Houses cast and has no real reason to be there anyway, there will be no Three Houses supports for him. I know that an Anna is in Three Houses, but if we went by that logic, Ananias would have to support with every Fire Emblem character that has ever existed, which would be unrealistic to do, at least for one person. If any of you want to do that yourselves, however, then you have my blessing, it's just that I won't be the one doing it. Sorry.
