"Ananias!" Keaton frantically cried. "Ananias!"

"I'm here, Keaton," Ananias said, meeting the wolfskin halfway upon spotting Keaton in the middle of his hysterical frenzy. "What? What is it? What's wrong?"

Keaton could hardly keep still. "Ananias! Oh, it's bad! It's bad! It's really really bad!"

"Calm down, Keaton," Ananias said. "Breathe. In. Out. In. Out." Keaton did what he was instructed, taking big, deep breaths before finally composing himself. "Now, what's got you so worked up?"

"This!" Keaton lifted the book in his hands for Ananias to see. "Your crazy family's gone and changed our entire book!"

Without even having to look at the cover, Ananias instantly realized what Keaton was talking about and calmly pulled the book he was holding up away from his face. "Okay, first of all, my family isn't crazy. Money-obsessed, maybe, but not crazy. And second of all," he pointed at the book in Keaton's hands, "I'm mostly to blame for that."

To say that Keaton was shocked would've been a serious understatement. "You?! You're responsible for… for…," he glanced back at the cover of the book and pointed at it, "this?!"

"That's what I just said."

"H-how could you?! You said that this book was going to be sophisticated!"

"I did! It's just that, you know," Ananias scratched the back of his neck and looked to the side, "you're not."

Keaton gasped. "What? How dare you! I am VERY sophisticated! In fact, I may be the most sophisticated guy here!"

Ananias quickly shook his head. "No, not even close. By human standards, your tastes are pretty bottom of the barrel."

"Yeah, by human standards! H-U-M-A-N! By wolfskin standards, I'm the most sophisticated guy there is!"

"Which is why writing a sophisticated book about your 'sophisticated' tastes wouldn't have worked," Ananias explained. "This book was meant to endear humans to your point of view, and based on what you told me about your treasures, there's not a lot of nuance to it. You like what you like. That's it. We can't make an entire book about that."

"So you reduced it to a mere children's book?!"

Ananias simply shrugged. "It was the only way we could think of to get your story out while still endearing people to you and your tastes."

"Endear me to who? Children?!"

"What's wrong with that?"

"I don't know! Maybe because I'm an adult?! Who would like to have adult conversations with his adult friends about their most prized possessions?"

"Keaton," Ananias said, placing a hand onto one of Keaton's shoulders and looking him directly in the eyes. "No human adult, in their right mind, would ever consider busted up tree branches, dusty spider webs, and cracked rocks a 'prized possession'."

"But kids will?!"

Ananias let go of his shoulder and simply shrugged. "Probably. They're more easily manipulated, so it's a bit easier to sell them on your tastes. Especially with how imaginative, sentimental, rebellious, dirty, attached, and naive kids can get."

Keaton loudly groaned. "But I don't want to hang out with a bunch of kids!"

"Beggars can't be choosers. And is this really what all of this is about? You just not wanting to hang out with kids?"

"It's not just that!" Keaton complained. "It's the fact that your book made me look so... so... -"

Ananias raised a knowing eyebrow. "Childish?"

"Yeah, yeah! Childish! Your book made me look childish! And I am not childish! I am an adult!"

"Not when it comes to artistic nuance," Ananias muttered.

"Still!" Keaton whined.

Ananias sighed. "Look, there's nothing wrong with being childish sometimes. As long as you act like an adult when you're supposed to, then no one's going to have any major gripes about it."

"...really?" Keaton whimpered.

Ananias nodded. "Really. I mean, why else do you think I'm still friends with you despite how strange I think your interests are? You're mature when it counts, Keaton, and I couldn't ask more of someone than that."

Keaton gasped. "Friends? Really? You really think of me as a friend?"

"Um, yeah. Why else do you think we titled the book, My Friend, Keaton?"

"I don't know," Keaton said, his voice beginning to shake and crack as his eyes began to water. "To appeal to kids and stuff?"

Ananias' eyes widened in surprise. "Um, are you about to cry?"

Keaton shook his head and immediately began to wipe his eyes. "N-no! Of course not! It's just allergies is all! A wolfskin like me would never cry over something... something like this!"

Ananias rolled his eyes. "Sure you wouldn't."

Once Keaton was done recomposing himself, he took a deep breath before asking, "So, you really think that this book will help get kids to like what I like?"

Ananias shrugged. "Who knows? Whether it works or not is completely out of our hands. All we can say is that we gave it our best shot and hope for the best. But best case scenario? Yeah, kids will start to take an interest. And if it gets popular enough, then adults will start to take an interest too."

"Ha ha! Really? You think so?"

"Well, only if it catches on." Ananias held his chin. "Hmm. But now that I think about it, if your interests start to catch on, then there's going to be a lot more competition for your treasures. That'll mean that there's going to be less treasures to go around and a lot less treasures for you. You really okay with that?"

"Ah, what's one or two less treasures?" Keaton said, a big, goofy, and toothy grin appearing on his face. "As long as people finally get to see what they've been missing out on, I'm satisfied!"

Ananias smiled. "It must really be nice being you. I'm actually kind of jealous."

"Yeah, I'd be jealous of me too."

"Careful, Keaton. Don't get all big-headed on me now."

"Aw, but why can't I? After all," Keaton raised the book up and slapped the cover, "I'm the star of my own book!"

Ananias groaned. The types of things he put up with for the sake of friendship.

Author's Note #1: And therein ends Ananias' supports with Keaton. The next supports will be Subaki, followed by Mozu. Then, I'll finally be able to get to the Warriors supports.

Author's Note #2: The Fire Emblem Warriors poll is up on my profile. Vote for which five characters you want for Ananias to support with from that game the most and, in the end, ten characters will be selected for Ananias to support with, so make your voices heard. Happy voting!

Author's Note #3: I've been asked about Three Houses supports a lot, and recently I was asked about potential Heroes supports, so I might as well address future plans for the story after I've completed the Warriors supports. Basically, I plan to do ten short stories/chapters with Ananias as the focus after the Warriors supports as a way to send off the character and this particular story, since this story has been around for quite a while now. These short stories can range from actual backstory stuff to just plain fun, but I will definitely only limit myself to ten, regardless of what types of stories they end up being. As many have asked for Three Houses and Heroes, I will definitely devote one chapter/story to each, but obviously they won't be full on supports with specific characters like the rest of this story has been. That means that'll leave eight stories left for me to do with this character besides those two, which will then officially close the book on his (and this) story. I hope that that works for all of you.
