Lena's POV

Waking the next morning, I sighed feeling Kara's warm body pressed against me. My arm draped over her side and our legs tangled together. She's still asleep. Images of last night flashed through my mind. I finally let her behind all of my walls. Peace washed over me at the thought. I finally have someone I can fully trust. My grip tightened on the woman before me.

"Everything okay?" Kara's groggy voice was quiet as she entwined our fingers. "No morning after regrets?" For all of her work, she couldn't hide the quiver in her voice.

"Never." Dipping my head, I kissed a bare shoulder. "I was just thinking about last night."

"I'm glad you're my last," she whispered.

It took me a moment to realize what she meant. "I am too." Turning in my arms, Kara tangled a hand in my hair and kissed me. "Someone's bolder now," I teased.

"I can't help it." Scraping her nails gently against my scalp caused chill bumps to form. "Any complaints?"

"Not at all," I purred. Claiming the Super's lips, I rolled on top of her. Kissing and nipping down her neck, caused Kara to squirm. Taking a pebbled nipple between my teeth gained me a whimper. "Do we have time?" Snaking a hand lower, I teased between toned thighs.

"I can…fff…suuperrrr…" Kara groaned. "Fly."

Chuckling darkly, I kissed my way down the blonde's stomach. "Good."

After cooking a rather large breakfast, Kara and I went our separate ways to work. I wasn't the best at flying yet so I opted to keep my chauffeur. I also didn't want him to be out of a salary.

As I approached, Jess stood with a slight panic in her eyes. "Miss Luthor, your call sheet." She held out a piece of paper.

"Morning, Jess." Taking the paper, I saw twelve calls from Mother and two from Lex. My stomach dropped. This is why she's freaking out. It's never good when both of them call. "Will you postpone any meetings for today? I need to sort this out and work in the lab."

"Yes, Miss Luthor." Taking a seat, Jess pulled out my schedule.

"I tried the pasta and meatball recipe last night."

Jess' eyes brightened. "How was it?"

"Absolutely fantastic." Unlocking the door, I continued. "Will you also clear next week? I'll be unavailable."

"Of course, Miss Luthor."

"Thanks, Jess."

Entering my office, I settled behind my desk and made sure there was nothing Lillian or Lex could do to get their hands on company wise. I've worked too hard for them to destroy it. For added security, I set up notifications for the biometric locks at all of Lex's bunkers. If he, somehow, goes near them, I'll know about it. I need to get to the lab and work on Superman's shield. If Lex knew I was making his arch enemy a shield and dating Supergirl, his head would explode. Feeling my phone vibrate, I smiled seeing Kara's face.

Hey, Alex told me there is some news about Lillian. I didn't know if you have heard anything yet. I didn't want to drop it on you. -K

That's probably why she's on my call sheet twelve times. Lex is as well. He called twice. I've not listened to the messages yet. -L

Do you want me to be there when you listen to them? -K

Thank you for the offer. I think I'll be fine. When I know more, I'll let you know. -L

Thank you. Enjoy Lunch! -K

All twelve messages from Mother asked about Kara and my recovery. Lex masterfully spoke for the entire message recording time without saying anything. Leaning back in my chair, I sighed. Mother knows something is coming. She could always sense these things. I need to destroy the kryptonite but I can't take Kara away from work again. Dialing J'onn, I waited.

"Hello, Lena. Is everything alright?"

"On the Luthor front dealing with my call sheet, yes. I have a favor to ask. You already know about my plan for the bunkers but I need to do it sooner than later. I can't have Kara miss more work than she already has. Would you be able to accompany me?"

"Of course. Would we fly or use your jet?"

"For the areas around here, I'd be fine flying. For the locations around the world, we'd need to fly in the jet."

"We should work on your flying skills soon. It'll be helpful. When should we begin?"

"Soon. The closest location we could do this weekend. I've cleared my schedule for next week. I need to work on Kal-El's shield today."

"Alright. Let me know when."

"Thank you, J'onn. It's appreciated."

The night's air was crisp and clear as Kara, J'onn, and I flew. Our first bunker was the one they saved me from after Mother kidnapped me. Most of it was destroyed by the synthetic kryptonite explosion. Trace amounts of the substance must have been in the mountain because our shields activated as we approached.

"Good to know they work on small amounts too," J'onn eyed us. "How do you both feel?"

"Fine," we answered.

Landing, we started looking around for any objects that weren't destroyed. Knowing Lex kept things hidden, I kicked the remaining floor in case it was hollow underneath. "Something is here," I called. Crouching down, I found a seam in the floor.

"What did you find?" J'onn asked.

"Lex always kept things hidden. When I was here last, Lillian had me open a vault that had a plethora of weapons inside. I'm sure Lex had more than one hidden away." This is probably useless but it's worth a shot. Staring at the scuffed concrete, I tried using my x-ray vision. Like I assumed, Lex had mixed lead with the concrete so I couldn't see anything.

"He mixed lead in, didn't he?" Kara sighed.

"Of course he did," I smirked.

"Is there a way to unlock it even with the bio lock destroyed?" J'onn examined the floor under us.

"I'm sure there is." Glancing around, I looked for a bio lock podium. "Did the D.E.O. gather everything they could after my rescue?"

"Yes. It's in the fortress," Kara swayed from foot to foot. "I forgot about it until now."

"No worries. I wanted to make sure that vault was cleared out by you and not Mother." Pulling out a tablet, I tried accessing the bunker's security system. Suddenly, two other podiums rose from the ground. How much stuff did he keep here? I know he kept months worth of supplies but good Lord.

"I assume you and Lex are the only ones who can open them?" J'onn studied a nearby lock.

"Yes. At least this time I'm opening them because I want to and not because I'm being forced to." Turning off my shield, pain started burning through my veins. I placed my hand on the screen and a panel began to rise from the floor. As the suit finished filtering out kryptonite, the pain eased. A new alert came up on my shield's screen. "Careful. There's more kryptonite somewhere."

"I got the alert too," Kara approached with caution. "Should we call Alex and have them bring a truck to help us load anything we find?"

"Yes." Tapping his earpiece, J'onn called for a few agents and a large transport truck to meet us.

Over the next few hours, we emptied the vaults and stripped anything that could be used from the bunker. By the time we were done, the area was useless. "Good job," Alex looked around. "Lex had these located all around the world?"

"Yes," I nodded. "Emptying them all is going to be a hassle. Should we destroy them or try to bring things back to the US?"

Biting the inside of her cheek, Alex thought. "I'm not sure. We'll have to figure that out as we go considering different country's regulations. Obviously, we'll destroy the kryptonite and take what we can since it technically belongs to you."

"We'll figure it out." I folded my arms. "One down, nine more to go. Lex kept at least one on each continent. I cleared my schedule for next week. Do you think you could spare some agents?"

"Yeah, I should be able to. I'll head back and document everything we found. J'onn, will you help me take it to the fortress?"

"Of course," he nodded. "I'll head back with you."

Flying back to my apartment, Kara fixed some leftovers as I changed. "I know that look, Miss Danvers." My brow rose as I wrapped my arms around the blonde. "What is it?"

"I can't go because of work," the Super whined. "Sometimes being a reporter gets in the way. I love the job but sometimes it interferes with Supergirl stuff."

"I know it does." I kissed the woman's cheek. "I'll have J'onn's help," I smiled. Even now, she's worried about me. "I'll be safe. At least it's more difficult to hurt me now."

"Thankfully," Kara laughed. "I'll still worry just as much."

"I'm quite aware," I smirked. "Now, let's go to bed." A soft blush crept up the older woman's neck. "To sleep. We both have work tomorrow."

"Sorry…" she mumbled.

"It's new and exciting." I toyed with some hair that had fallen from Kara's messy bun. "And we haven't exactly kept our hands off each other the past few days," I grinned.

"I'm not complaining," Kara smiled sheepishly.

"Oh, I know," I winked.

Over the next week, J'onn and I, with the help of some D.E.O. agents cleared out most of Lex's bunkers. Thankfully, there wasn't much trouble. No sign of Lex which made me a little nervous. As we traveled, I thought about all the places I wanted to take Kara. Ireland being one of them. Now that I'm Kryptonian, we have the time to do it. Especially after I step down from L-Corp. We can learn about my birth mother together.

"You've been a very busy woman," Mother's tone rang through the silence of my office.

How did she get in here? Leaning back in my chair, I met the woman's knowing gaze. "Yes, I have been. Please tell me you didn't murder Jess and hide her body in a closet."

"No, no." The older woman waved her hand dismissively. "There was a delivery for you that she needed to pick up downstairs." My brow rose. "I hope you enjoy the flowers."

"What do you want, Mother?"

Taking a seat, Lillian dropped her bag in the second guest chair. "What are you up to? I know you've been going around the country stripping Lex's bunkers with the Martian."

Of course she's been spying on me. "I'm keeping people safe from Lex's madness. Since he's in prison, the properties, and everything on them, belong to me. I could make them into low income/free housing if I wanted to." That's actually not a bad idea. Or a hospital. Something to look into later on.

"You always did care more about the underdog," Lillian murmured. "Is it safe to assume this actually deals with Kara and your newfound relationship?"

"Since you already know the answer to that question, yes. I want to keep her as safe as possible." And keep you or Lex from using my new weakness against me to get to her.

Mother's eyes narrowed. "Where were you after the attack? Kara did something."

"You should be thanking her." Especially considering I had cancer. "She saved my life." Twice.

"How did she save you? Where did she take you? Because it wasn't the fortress. I couldn't find you anywhere on-," Something flashed across the woman's face.

She has an idea. "You really were worried about me." I hate that I still crave your love and validation.

"I was, yes. Now, where did Kara take you?"

"All you need to know is Kara saved me and I'm fine now." She knows I'm hiding something. "Why did Lex call me twice last week?"

"He's also worried about you," she paused. "For reasons of his own."

"Selfish bastard," I scoffed. "Can't be happy that his sister is alive unless he wants something from me."

Lillian picked up her purse. "Well, clearly you're not going to tell me." As she pulled out a small box, my heart raced realizing I couldn't see through it. Placing it on my desk, the older woman pushed it towards me. "Open it."

"What is it?"

"Green kryptonite. Lex's ring to be precise." Meeting my gaze, she silently dropped a gauntlet. "The only kryptonite I have besides a Lexosuit."

"Why should I open it? Supergirl could be flying nearby."

"She can handle a small amount and be fine. A new kryptonian, not so much."

My brow rose. "What are you saying, Mother?" There's only one bunker left. We were so close.

"I'm saying, I don't think you're human anymore." A knowing grin tugged at the woman's lips as she leaned over my desk. "Prove me wrong."

She's going to find out either way at this point. It'll be the green streaks across my skin or my shield activating. Slipping the ring off, I placed it on the seat so I could slide it back on if needed. Taking the box, I flipped it open. Pain started to radiate through me but was tolerable. "This is mine now." I closed the box and put my ring back on.

Conflict washed over Lillian's face. "Y-You're…Kryptonian?"

"I am," I nodded. Slumping back into a chair, Mother was speechless. "It was the only way to save me."

"They beat you that badly?" Rage bubbled just under the woman's skin.

"Yes." Might as well tell her an edited version of the truth. "I also had brain cancer."

"What?" Lillian deflated.

"I had less than a year to live. I didn't know about it before the attack. Kara, the woman you hate, found a way to save me. Becoming Kryptonian was my choice," I paused. "Now, you have a choice to make. The daughter you say you love isn't human anymore. Are you going to try and kill me along with the other aliens? Or sell me out to Lex?" Seeing my phone light up, I opened the text from Kara.

I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. Your heart rate skyrocketed as I flew by. -K

It's okay. I figured you would listen eventually. -L I added my signature green heart at the end of my message to show I wasn't upset.

Lillian continued to sit in silence, letting the information sink in. "That smile," her eyes fell to my phone. "It's the ali…Kara." The woman's voice was unreadable.

I'm bulletproof but her tone is making me uneasy. Glad I have my shield ring back on. "It is, yes."

"I want…is she nearby?" As if on cue, boots touched down on the balcony. Stormy eyes moved from me to the Super who walked in. "Kara."

"Lillian."

Getting to her feet, the older woman did something that startled us both. She hugged Supergirl. "Thank you."

Unsure of herself, Kara reciprocated cautiously. "You're welcome."

"Protect my daughter at all costs. Kill Lex if you have to." Stepping back, Lillian's gaze solidified. "At all costs."

Nodding slowly, Kara spoke. "I will." Glancing between us, she continued. "What does this mean for us? Are you going to give up your hatred of aliens?"

Smirking, Lillian rolled her eyes. "Don't get too overzealous, Supergirl."

"Darn," Kara sighed dramatically. "Excuse me for wanting to see the best in everyone. Even you," she smiled.

Mother's gaze narrowed. "In thanks, I'll forgo destroying you and your cousin."

"And your daughter," I stepped beside Kara. "Sides have been chosen, Mother. And I'm on hers."

"You've always been on hers," she scoffed. "Why else would you have tricked me with the isotope?" Picking up her bag, Lillian straightened her jacket. "This is a truce. We won't be celebrating Thanksgiving together or anything."

"One day, maybe?" Kara grinned.

Pinching the bridge of her nose, Mother sighed. "How can you handle that amount of sunshiny goodness?"

"Because I love her. It is a bit difficult before caffeine though," I chuckled.

"I can imagine," shuddering, the older woman left.
