Phew, you will not believe how hectic things have been for me lately. I wanted to have this story updated last week, but, well, real life happened like it always does. Typical family drama, working so much overtime, getting sick, and then finding out my manager had COVID, so then I had to go get tested and self-isolate. Luckily, my test came back negative. My illness was likely the result of stress from having to work seven full days in a row… yeah. Please, no one ever offer me drugs, because apparently, I lack the ability to say 'no.' Anyway, thank you so much for all your support towards the story so far! It really means a lot to me!
5: Invasive Experiments
Seras groaned as her eyelashes fluttered, her instincts signalling that night had fallen and that it was time to get up. However, for some reason, Seras felt even more exhausted than usual this evening. Her whole body ached and it felt like an elephant had been sleeping on top of her all day. There was an itchy sensation on her neck, and the draculina brought one of her hands up to scratch at it. She finally forced her eyes to open, her gaze meeting the cold stone ceiling of the basement levels. She guessed she must have fallen asleep and forgotten to put the lid over herself.
Groaning, she shifted herself slightly before realising that the rest of her coffin was empty. Hang on…
Seras gasped and jolted upright, ignoring the protests of her muscles as she did so. Her blue eyes were wide with fear and confusion as her head whipped around, her senses going crazy as she attempted to locate the two little girls that should have been right next to her. Panic consumed her, and her whole body felt like it was sinking into cold quicksand. She could still smell their scents and set about on following them, but her mind was too wild to think straight.
Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god!
What was she supposed to do? Had they wandered off? Had someone taken them?! NO! She had to find them! Who knows what sort of trouble they could be in! The panic partly became replaced by a murderous rage as she became determined to find out whoever had taken her babies from her. Was it another vampire? Oh how she would make them pay, Seras purred to herself, her whole body trembling as she chuckled darkly. Her breathing morphed into pants and she could feel her fangs lengthening, digging into her lower lip. Her whole vision turned red.
They would pay. She would get them back. She would torture and slaughter anyone who dared mess with them. No one was to ever lay their hands on them. They were hers. Her precious offspring. Her babies. And she would protect them at all costs.
The sound of Sir Integra shouting incoherently from the floors above snapped Seras out of her state of lunacy. She blinked, her mind a complete blur over what had just happened, and she shook her head to try and clear the dizzying thoughts. The twins! That's right; they were missing and she needed to find them. With that thought, Seras dashed upstairs, clumsily slamming into a few walls in the process as she attempted to use her vampire speed. It didn't help that her limbs felt like jelly for some strange reason. She scratched at her neck again before shaking her head, finally reaching the foyer where she stopped and froze.
"Miss Luna, if you could please hand that rifle back?" Walter's voice gently pleaded. "Someone could get hurt."
"Just give it back, Luna," Lily sighed in annoyance. "Why do you always have to get us into trouble?"
"I do not!" Luna retorted, swinging the rifle around as she looked at it, trying to figure out how it worked.
At this sight, Seras' heart leapt into her mouth, and she darted forward to snatch the gun off the confused toddler, who blinked down at her empty hands where the rifle had just been. Her gaze then turned upwards to meet the furious blue eyes of her mother who was breathing heavily through her nose. Seras had only just woken up and she was already reaching the end of her tether. Luna gulped and smiled up at her awkwardly, however, this did little to dispel the draculina's foul mood.
"Good evening, mother," Luna spoke politely with a small grin, sending a shiver down Seras' spine when all she could see was a female version of Alucard staring up at her.
"Don't you 'good morning, mother' me!" Seras snapped. "Guns are not toys!"
Luna pouted and glared down at the floor.
"Nice of you to join us, Police Girl," the voice of Integra spoke from one of the corners of the room. She was leaning against the wall, her eyes hard as steel as she took a deep drag of her cigar. Seras then looked to the ashtray that was on a small antique table next to the Hellsing leader, and saw many finished, burnt out cigars already there. Just how much had Integra been chain smoking this morning? This could only be a sign that the platinum blonde wasn't in a good mood either.
"Sorry, sir," Seras squeaked out, shoving the rifle behind her back, "I guess I must have overslept?"
Integra sighed, breathing smoke out through her nostrils. "I was about to have Walter come and wake you. These two have been driving us crazy for two hours now and we have been unable to leave them alone. Within that time-span, they stole my cigars, broke one of my swords, scared one of the maids, stole blood from the storage, and somehow managed to get hold of a loaded rifle."
Seras glared down at the twins. Lily looked down in shame whereas Luna looked away and whistled nonchalantly. Of all the things, why did they have to mess with the Hellsing's cigars?! Integra probably would have been more forgiving if the two girls had killed someone…
"I'm now starting to believe that Alucard is the only one who can handle them," Integra spoke again, and Seras gasped in response. "They appear to be almost as powerful as a regular vampire, and I can't have them roaming free around the manor. They are a danger to themselves and to others."
"Please, sir, no!" Seras begged. "It's okay! I can handle this! I'm sorry I overslept and left you alone with them. It won't happen again, I swear! Just please, don't involve my master!"
"At this rate he's going to find out sooner or later, Miss Victoria," Walter chimed in, as always trying to remain the voice of reason. "We are not a single step closer to figuring out the predicament we have found ourselves in. We still know little to nothing about vampire children and we have no idea how to send them back to wherever they came from."
Seras sighed before an idea struck her. "Well, what about a witch? If witchcraft sent them here, maybe it could send them back?"
They all looked towards Sir Hellsing.
"It's an idea," Integra replied carefully. "However, witches have been hunted to near extinction. Finding one would be near impossible. They have learnt to hide themselves well over the centuries, and for all we know, they could very well no longer exist. The last large coven of witches were destroyed in Lancashire over three hundred years ago."
"Not to mention witches are highly dangerous creatures," Walter added. "Getting one to agree to help would indeed be impossible."
"But it's starting to look like the only option we have," Seras muttered, glancing back down at the tiled floor, trying her hardest not to completely lose hope. She would get these two back home if it killed her. They just had to be smart about this. This was the Hellsing Organisation after all; if anyone could handle this, it was them.
Seras then turned to glance down at the two girls who were watching everything unfold with blank expressions. "Is there anything else you can tell us about how you got here? Please, tell us the whole truth and don't worry about getting into trouble, because you won't. The more we know, the better we can help you."
"But we have told you everything, mummy," Lily responded, her expression growing sad.
"She was a mean, nasty and ugly witch," Luna growled out. "And she really hates you, mummy."
Seras blinked. "What?"
"We heard stories that you've been enemies for centuries," Lily continued.
"But… I don't know any witches…" Seras mumbled in confusion.
"Not yet, maybe," Walter said, looking deep in thought.
Integra sighed. "It seems that at some point in the future, Seras manages to make an enemy of a powerful witch. Perhaps she was planning on using the girls in some sort of revenge plot. I doubt it was her intention to send them back in time though, especially since it was mentioned Luna was messing with some potions."
Luna smirked before turning to her sister. "See, I told you I'd save us."
"Shut up!"
"But until we find a way back for them, how do we take care of them? I know nothing about raising kids!" Seras gasped out, feeling her panic growing again. "And again, I can't have my master finding out about this. I'll never be able to live with the shame! If he doesn't kill me, then I'll need to find a rock to hide under for the rest of eternity!"
"Pull yourself together, Victoria!" Integra snapped. "I understand that this is a very distressing situation, but show some decorum! You would deny your master knowledge of this, even if it is in the best interest of everyone? I had no idea you could be so selfish!"
Seras cowered slightly. "Sir…"
"Alucard may be our only hope. He is the king of vampires after all – the first of his kind. If anyone is going to possess at least some information about vampire offspring, it's him. Like it or not, Police Girl, you are the mother and Alucard is the father. While the revelation of the fact that vampires can breed does highly concern me, the possible damage that could be occurring through these two being here is what concerns me more right now," Integra sternly explained.
Seras bit her lip, fighting back tears.
Integra then relaxed slightly and took another long drag from her cigar. "Look, I'll agree to wait for Alucard's return before we tell him anything. There's no sense telling him while he's miles away off the coast of Britain. Plus, I would like to be prepared to lock him up in case anything should happen. Until then, we will try and find out all we can ourselves."
The draculina then gulped and reluctantly nodded at the words of her superior.
"Mummy's in trouble." She could hear the twins snickering to themselves.
Walter sighed. "I have been unable to find anything in the Hellsing family records that even alludes to vampire offspring. As far as everyone seems to have been aware, vampires cannot produce children."
The three of them then glanced down at the two girls who were oblivious to the conversation, wrapped up in some sort of hand game with each other.
"Well, I don't see how it's possible either," Seras voiced her concerns from yesterday. "I don't have periods anymore." She felt her cheeks go slightly pink. "So I'm guessing that means I don't ovulate and – GAH! This is so embarrassing!"
Walter smirked. "No need to be embarrassed, Miss Victoria. This is all a professional medical discussion."
"In other words," Integra interjected, "grow up, Police Girl."
"Yes, sir." She shrank back further.
Walter's smirk then turned into a sympathetic smile.
Integra cleared her throat to steer the topic back onto a more serious note. "In any case, there is clearly a fact about vampire biology that we are missing."
"Maybe we lay eggs?" Seras offered, shuddering at the image of her laying a giant egg which Luna and Lily then sprung out of, bloodthirsty and ready to kill.
The other two ignored her remark.
Walter then looked at the twins again before he leaned closer towards the grown women and whispered, "We know that vampire sexual organs work. They have sex all the time, and Alucard himself even had a string of mistresses over the centuries."
"Gross! BLEH! Do we have to talk about this?!" Seras freaked out, backing away and moving her hands up to cover her ears. Thinking of her master that way was just so… so… wrong! So her master was no celibate saint, she had kind of automatically assumed that, but that didn't mean she wanted to hear every detail of the flings he'd hand! It felt weird! She could feel her whole face turning red, and her eyes widened in horror. No no no no! So many dark and dirty images were now in her head! Her master's naked body…
What?! NO!
Her hands moved up to grip her blonde hair before she shook her head vigorously.
She was his servant! She should not be thinking of him like that!
"Well, they do still have blood running through their veins," Walter continued to muse, the two of them opting to ignore the flustered blonde vampire. "So within reason we can surmise that the males are not impotent."
Seras growled and bit her lip so hard that she drew blood.
"But do they produce sperm?" Integra questioned, shooting Seras an annoyed look before focusing back on the conversation.
"And the biology of the female is a little more complicated…"
"LITTLE EARS!" Seras squealed, grabbing hold of the twins, covering each outward facing ear. Lily and Luna just looked confused over their mother's sudden odd behaviour. In truth, this had just been the excuse she needed in order to avoid the current subject of conversation. But at the same time, this wasn't exactly something they should risk two small children overhearing, even if they didn't fully understand what was going on. Seras' whole body felt like it was on fire due to her strong blush. Her whole face was red and she shivered in embarrassment. She didn't… she couldn't even think about things like that, especially if they involved her master. It was futile, but Seras still clung onto the hope that maybe there was some mistake somewhere and that all of this was just some weird nightmare she was having after drinking some dodgy ghoul blood or something. Any moment now, she would wake up to her master scolding her for being an idiot, and everything would be back to normal.
"Do you think we could get Alucard to provide a sample?" Walter asked, starting to look amused.
Integra frowned for a second before turning towards Seras. "Right now, I think I have a better idea."
Seras stared at her boss blankly before her eyes widened in horror. "Oh no no no! You'll be getting no samples from me!"
Her protests were ignored.
"Walter, would you mind keeping an eye on Lily and Luna while the Police Girl and I have a little chat – woman to woman." Now even Integra couldn't keep the amused smirk from her features. Ugh, now who needs to grow up? Seras thought bitterly.
"Certainly, sir." He turned towards the twins who Seras still gripped like a lifeline. "Come along, my dears. Your mother has some very important work that needs attending to."
Seras shot him a death glare and reluctantly relinquished her hold on the girls. They skipped towards him, taking hold of his outstretched hands before he began to lead them out of the foyer.
"Can we watch you slice someone open with your wires?" Luna asked as she followed.
Walter smirked. "Maybe some other time."
Once they were out of sight, Seras' eyes flickered back towards the Hellsing leader, making sure to watch the other woman's every move. Meanwhile, she remained frozen, showing absolutely no signs of complying whatsoever. Seras wasn't about to let herself become some sort of human – errr vampire – guinea pig! Whatever Sir Integra had planned, it couldn't be good. Seras hated being poked and prodded at, even when she had merely visited a doctor for a check-up. Not to mention this was highly inappropriate! She didn't want strangers looking at and touching her lady parts!
"Come along, Police Girl," Integra sighed out, positioning her body to move towards the medical wing of the manor.
Seras refused to budge.
"Seras, I warn you now not to test my patience."
Seras took a step back. This was just like the aeroplane incident all over again! Only this time, she luckily had no master to catch her and pin her down, or even sit on her coffin lid while she was sealed inside. No! Seras was the powerful predator here! Integra was weaker than her!
There was no way that Seras was going to succumb to this!

"Okay, Miss Victoria, if you would like to remove your skirt and underwear, then we can begin," a kind nurse explained to her as she messed about with some medical machinery. Meanwhile, Seras stood next to a leather chair that had lots of different buttons attached to it. A paper sheet had also been placed over the top by the nurse, and all Seras could do was stare down at it with a disgruntled expression.
"I hate you," she growled out as she turned to glare at Integra.
Integra merely smirked in response, crossing her arms over her chest and closing her eyes as she sat crossed legged on the spare seat in the corner of the room. Two guards loaded with blessed bullets were stood outside the door, ensuring there was no way the draculina could escape. Ordinarily, Seras would have never dared to speak to the Hellsing in such a manner, but the woman had really crossed the line with Seras today. How could Sir Integra subject her to this humiliation?
"Can I at least have a bit more privacy?" Seras managed to squeak out as her eyes shot back towards Integra.
"Just get undressed, Police Girl." Integra refused to move.
Seras mumbled to herself as she kicked her boots off, scowling as she did so. Her cheeks were once again heating up as she unbuckled her belt, loosening her shirt so that she could more easily take off her tight yellow skirt. With a groan of humiliation, she lowered the item of clothing and stepped out of it, closely followed by her underwear. She placed them on top of her boots so they wouldn't get dirtied by the floor, and she pulled her shirt down as best as she could to at least give herself some dignity. She left her stockings on, unsure if it was necessary to take them off or not. She guessed she was right when the nurse ignored them and patted the chair, signalling for her to have a seat.
With her head lowered, Seras obeyed and sprawled herself out on the chair, trying to avoid looking at all of the terrifying looking instruments in the nurse's hand. This was so humiliating! Never again would Seras complain about the cat-calls of the Wild Geese since that was a walk in the park compared to being pant-less in the same room as your boss with your vagina on display for the whole world to see!
She tried to ignore Sir Integra's presence as the nurse typed a few things into the computer before moving to pull her shirt up slightly to examine the vampire's abdomen. She held a weird looking instrument above the vampire's stomach while she used her other hand to squirt some transparent gel onto her lower abdomen. Seras winced slightly at the weird, gross feeling, but otherwise tried to remain calm and well-behaved. She supposed the sooner she let the nurse get on with this, the sooner it would be over. Maybe she should at least ask for a sticker after having to go through all of this.
"I'm not too sure how well this will work due to her being a vampire, but it's worth a shot," the nurse spoke mainly to herself as she pressed the grey instrument against Seras' abdomen, her eyes focusing intently on the screen of grey fuzzy lines that remained unchanging.
The nurse pressed down even harder, and Seras fought off the urge to kick out and bolt. She just needed to try and find her happy place, but with all of the current stress, that was probably going to be impossible. She was vaguely aware of Integra watching the screen as well, however, Seras doubted that she knew much of what was going on. Integra didn't have any medical qualifications… as far as she knew…
"Hmmm." The nurse's voice drew the draculina out of her thoughts. "Just as I thought."
"What?" Seras asked worriedly.
The nurse gave her a warm smile. "Nothing to worry about, dear, I just can't see your womb using this device. People need to drink lots of water to give us a clear view, however, you can't do that, so…" she trailed off, letting Seras easily work it out for herself. "So we'll have to result to more internal methods."
"Huh?"
The nurse rubbed some other gel-like substance onto a new device before positioning it at Seras' entrance. Her eyes widened, and her heart dropped down to her stomach. Was that gel what she thought it was?!
"W-wait –!" she was about to protest when she suddenly felt herself being violated. She hissed at the intrusion, and it stung slightly as she felt the nurse rummaging the instrument around inside her. Seras wasn't even sure where to look; this was so awkward! She bit back pathetic whimpers as it felt like she was being peeled in half between her legs. The nurse kept her eyes on the screen again, moving the instrument this way and that in order to get a better look at things in there. It all just looked like meaningless blobs to the draculina.
"There appears to have been no changes to her reproductive organs," the nurse noted as she continued her examination. "Everything still looks as a normal human uterus would. No signs of any growths or anything unusual. Seras' womb is perfectly healthy."
Seras rolled her eyes. That was good to know at least.
"What about her ovaries?" Integra inquired.
The nurse took a few seconds to respond as she explored some more, much to Seras' discomfort. "Both are there and are also perfectly healthy. From what I can tell, everything is as it should be apart from the fact that there's no sign of the growth of the typical lining that coats the womb during the menstruation cycle. There's no sign of any released eggs, but as far as I can tell, the eggs should still all be there in her ovaries. I'll have to run some blood tests to get a better understanding of what's going on. Her hormone levels should be able to tell us more."
Seras groaned, knowing that a blood test meant needles. She hated needles.
"I see," Integra replied, placing a hand on her chin in thought.
Seras yelped as the nurse removed the weird device from her vagina, and she quickly closed her legs to prevent any more surprise invasions.
"We could operate to get an even closer look…" the nurse began again.
Again, Seras yelped, only this time, she tumbled down from the chair and onto the floor. As if this situation could get any more humiliating!
"But I imagine she will heal too quickly in order for us to get a good look at things," the nurse continued as she swivelled around to face them both.
"Do whatever you must," Integra replied. "Any answers we can obtain should be of great help."
Seras continued to frown as she quickly pulled her underwear and skirt back on. She felt relieved to be decent again. Her eyes darted towards the door, desperate to leave. It appeared she had likely gone through all of that for nothing! The examination had revealed nothing that was helpful. Just that she had all the bits and pieces you'd typically find in a woman. Seras could have easily just told them that! Not to mention she had already told them that she didn't have periods anymore, yet the nurse still seemed surprised when she found no evidence of the menstruation process. The young vampire was beginning to believe that everybody around her was deaf.
"Then I will perform a blood test and see what results that yields." The nurse began rummaging through some drawers. Red blurs appeared around Seras' vision and her whole body began to sway with dizziness. Unfortunately there was no way of getting out of this though. She didn't need to turn in order to know that Integra was giving her a stern look. Just breathe, Seras, she reassured herself. This was for a good cause after all. It would help her find out a little bit more about how her body functioned. As much as she had tried to deny it, she was a different species now. She was… no longer human… Seras couldn't help but sigh sadly at that thought.
The nurse then pulled out a needle and unwrapped it from its plastic packaging. Seras took that cue to look away, focusing all of her attention in the subtle patterns of the floor. Her eyes traced small swirls and she bit her lip as she felt the needle slide itself into the crease of her elbow. She managed to remain relaxed though, and cringed at the slurping sound of the blood being drained from her arm.
"What the?" she heard the nurse gasp in confusion.
Seras began feeling faint, and her eyes locked with the nurse's, her eyelids drooping in exhaustion.
"There's hardly any blood coming out! It's like she doesn't have any!" The nurse's panicked voice sounded far away.
"Police Girl?! Have you been neglecting to drink your blood again?!"
Seras was vaguely aware of Integra shouting at her, but the voices of the others in the room seemed to be getting further and further away. The aching within her muscles grew worse, and her whole body began convulsing as her throat burned. She could feel herself falling from her chair again, her thirst becoming unbearable. However, she was too weak to even give into the bloodlust and feed, no matter how tempting the smell of Integra's virgin blood was.
No! She had to feed! She had to feed for them! They depended on her! Once again, the draculina's instincts were screaming at her. But it was too late. The world felt like it was tilting even more on its axis as her vision blurred even more. Again, she could hear faraway shouting before darkness slowly consumed her vision.
This chapter wasn't as long as I hoped it would be, but I figured that this would be a mean cliffhanger to leave it on. Can you figure out what's going on? When's Alucard going to make his grand appearance? Maybe soon… mwah ha ha ha! I'll try and get the next chapter out as soon as possible, but in the meantime, please let me know your thoughts in a review. I like to know what you're thinking. Take care of yourselves and see you again soon!
