Cooper got up slowly to leave. "It was fun talking to ya, but your other bandmates need some attention as well. I've only gotten to know Freddy so far." He said, with a slight pinch of disappointment.
"Oh, I-I. Ok." Roxy said with also a hint of disappointment and defeat. "Well, before you go, take this." With that, Roxy found the nearest Roxy plushie and tossed it to him while he was next to the door.
Cooper caught it easily and said nothing. Instead, he just smiled at her, before leaving.
Roxy was changed after that experience. Maybe she didn't want to be known as the big mean, overconfident racing wolf, maybe, just maybe, she didn't have to be like that. After all, that wasn't her.
Cooper walked through Rockstar Row, back into the atrium and up to the third floor, where the music controls were for the stage. He put the Roxy plushie just on top of the centre control panel.
How weird would it seem if he had greeted the others with this in my hand? Eh, I'll come back for you later. He thought. He greatly appreciated Roxy's kind gesture, but he was just never one for plushies.
He thought that maybe he should visit Monty next since gator golf was just below him.
He walked down the inoperable escalator and into the room just before the elevator entrance to Monty golf.
The room was gorgeous. Luscious greens filled the carpets, there were vines, and ivy and all sorts of plants hung up on the wall. To the right of Cooper was a kiosk where tickets were available, and a staircase that led to a balcony that housed what Cooper assumed was a snack bar or merchandise store.
Cooper took in the beauty and then went straight into the elevator.
He was feeling quite nervous about his encounter with Monty, but soon the elevator theme song kicked in. What a jam. The animatronics could only hope to live up to such greatness.
ding.
The elevator doors had opened, and Cooper was greeted by an incredible sight.
Gorgeous lush green plants littered the area, and neon lights from the sides of the courses gave just enough light to illuminate the courses and the surrounding area. Hanging lights made you feel like you were looking at fireflies in a swamp. Cutouts and clip art of Monty were everywhere as well.
Unlike Roxy raceway, this place was made to be viewed at night.
Water features only added to the swamp-like theme. Periodically, plastic alligators would pop out of the water and deliver a hearty jumpscare, but if that's the price he had to pay it was worth every cent.
Cooper wanted to play mini-golf while he was there and experience the attraction to its fullest, but he had to find that alligator first.
He began walking through the attraction and began to fully immerse himself in the beauty of the place. The same thought came back. This place is magical.
He wandered for a bit until he found his target. Montgomery Gator. He remembered what Freddy said, something along the lines of, don't piss him off or he'll eat your limbs and face, or something like that.
There was only one problem with what Freddy told him. Freddy never told him what does piss him off.
Monty was in solitude, minding his own business, playing some mini golf whilst humming a tune of the song they had performed earlier.
He seemed happy enough. Cooper thought. I'll just go introduce myself and we'll see what happens.
Cooper walked up to him and was about to introduce himself when Monty suddenly turned his head and jumped slightly.
"Hey there kiddo, sorry but it is way past closing time. you need to leave." Monty said whilst turning his head back to his game.
"Ehh, hrrrm." Cooper cleared his throat whilst holding up and subtly pointing to his night guard badge.
Monty turned his head towards the 'kid' and dropped his glasses slightly. "Oooh, wow, sorry." He said apologetically. "I knew we were getting a new guard but I had no idea it would be so soon, and, you're not exactly very tall either."
"I've heard that before." Cooper said with a slight smirk.
"The being tall thing... or the getting new guard thing?" Monty questioned.
"Both."
"Oh, well, err, Nice to meet ya pal! I'm sure you've heard lots about me!"
No. Cooper hadn't. Monty was the least favourite of all the animatronics, but that didn't mean he was hated. "Yeah, I've heard so much." Cooper lied. "You're really popular."
"Hehe, you'll make me blush." Monty joked. "Anyways, what brings you to my neck of the woods? Ya like golf? Wanna talk? Wanna take a selfie?" Monty asked cheerfully.
"Yes, yes, and no." Cooper replied. He hoped that didn't anger him.
Monty, being slightly disappointed he didn't want a selfie, told him that the clubs were beside the entrance if he cared to join him.
Cooper then set off for the clubs and left Monty alone. When he came back Monty was surprised he didn't have a score sheet.
"Couldn't find a scoresheet pal?" Monty asked. "They were next to th-" Cooper cut him off. "I knew where they were, I just didn't want one. I'm not very competitive. I just do stuff for fun." Cooper told Monty.
"Not competitive, ha, you're a rare breed, you." Monty joked.
"Suppose I am." Cooper replied plainly.
"Anyways, how are you doing gator?" Cooper asked. They began to talk with each other whilst playing golf. Monty was good. Really good. Suppose you have to be good at it if it's your only hobby. Cooper thought.
Monty scored a hole-in-one on the next course. It had a par of seven. "Holy crap." Cooper stared in amazement at the ball as it elegantly glided towards the hole and fell in with a gentle 'plop'.
Monty looked at Cooper and nudged him. "I'm pretty good aren't I?" He said with a cocky tone.
"Yes." Cooper didn't put up a fight on that comment, he let Monty have it because he deserved it.
They talked for a long time, and played golf for a while before Cooper checked his watch. "Crap. It's almost 4 am and I still haven't said a word to Chica. Don't even know where she is."
Monty stayed quiet for a minute hoping to not accidentally remind the night guard that the animatronics were supposed to be out of their attractions and into their green rooms by 3 am.
"That's, unfortunate. I mean, you can go look for her now if you want. I promise I won't mind." Monty said trying to mask His disappointment.
"Thank you Monty. Would you happen to know where she is?" He asked the gator.
"If I had to guess, it would either be the kitchen or her green room. But, you're a nightguard, aren't you? Can't you just look at your cameras?" Monty questioned.
Cooper felt so stupid. "Of course. Of course, I forget about one of the most useful tools night guards can get." He said to himself mockingly.
"Hahaha!" Monty laughed at his stupidity. "Anyways, I'll see you around if you are leaving. it was a pleasure talking and getting to know you, Cooper." Monty said gratefully.
"Yeah, It was cool getting to know you too big guy. See you around." And with that Cooper walked out of gator golf.
He's nice. Monty thought to himself. I'm sure Roxxane will appreciate having a nightguard as nice as him. I just hope Roxy doesn't take it for granted, knowing her.
Cooper found a bench in the atrium just outside of gator golf. He pulled out his novelty fazwatch and began to try to turn it on. It took a few tries, but eventually, he got there. The watches guards got were the exact same as the watches customers could buy, the only difference being the night guard's watch was connected to the security cameras.
Cheap bastards. Cooper thought to himself. He began scrolling through the camera feeds, or rather, the parts of the camera feeds that weren't filled with static.
"Atrium, no. green room, no. Mazercise, no. Kitchen, no- oh hang on a sec," he quietly said to himself. "Aha!" Cooper was scrolling the kitchen cams, when suddenly he saw something move just out the corner of a cam, and it wasn't a staff bot. It was a chicken leg. "Gotcha!"
Cooper began to walk towards the kitchen whilst hoping she wasn't digging around in the trash bin. He was then surprised by something.
It was Chica, walking out of the kitchen with a freshly made pizza in hand. Chica wasn't devouring it yet, which was surprising to him since the only thing he knew about her was that she loved food.
When she had passed him and had not seen him, the night guard called out to her.
"Hey! Chica!" he called out.
Upon hearing this, Chica jumped a little and almost dropped the pizza box. "Oh, hello there new night guard." she said slightly surprised, and with a guilty looking face.
She then tried to hide the pizza box behind her back. It was the largest size you could get at the pizzeria.
She was caught red-handed and she knew it. A rule was made specifically for her that she was not allowed to enter the kitchens after she was caught doing it several times, and she began costing fazbear entertainment more money than the needed.
Upon seeing the box, Cooper was reminded about a rule he had been told during orientation. Something about Chica, no pizza past 6. His memory was fuzzy but it was there in his mind.
"Chica? mind telling me what you're doing with that pizza?"
"Sir, carrying it to my room." She replied.
Chica could only hope that the new guard had forgotten about that rule.
"Fairly sure you can't be eating that at this time of night." Cooper said with an accusational tone.
"I'm so sorry, I was jus-" She was cut off. "You can have it if you give me a slice.
Chica was not expecting that.
"Oh thank you night guard! You're the best!"
They sat down at a nearby table and began talking and eating. A very similar conversation to Monty's, but just without the golf.
"Tell me, why do you like food so much? Like, I get it tastes good but..." He trailed off.
"I'm not sure. I guess it's just an unfortunate habit. I can't help myself. One minute I'm in my green room jamming out, and the next I'm pigging out in the kitchen. it's weird. If I had to guess it would be something about my programming. I hate to blame everything wrong about me on it but, I have no other explanations."
Cooper was a little stunned for words. He didn't really know what he was expecting for an answer to that question, but it wasn't that.
"Would you want to stop it if you could?" Cooper said.
"Yes. I hate being greedy. I hate being a pig." She said whilst slightly raising her voice a little.
Cooper didn't know why, but that last sentence touch him a little.
"I'm sorry you feel that way." He replied bluntly.
"It's OK. what where you gonna do about it anyway." She told him
The night guard knew she meant no offence by that sentence but he felt a tiny bit insulted for whatever reason.
He looked down at his watch. it read 5:46 am.
"Oh boy, it's late-err early," He told Chica. "You should really be thinking about heading back to your green room and getting some sleep, or, charge."
"What time is it?" She asked.
"5:46 am" Cooper replied.
"SQUAWK!" Chica yelled loudly. "Oh my god, it's THAT late? I need to go!" She sounded worried. She quickly got up off of her chair and began running towards her green room.
"I'm so sorry to leave on such short notice, It was fun hanging out with you but I have to recharge!"
And with that, she was gone.
Cooper was a little stunned but just shrugged it off, as if it was normal. He walked up to the 3rd floor and got his Roxy plushie. he then walked to a nearby office to finish some paperwork and to document his experience with the animatronics, and whether or not they were hostile towards him. None of them were.
Cooper began to head towards the exit of the lobby of the pizza Plex and the exit/entrance. He walked to his car, plushie in hand and got in, started the engine and drove off.
When he got home, he could hear his radio was still on.
"Huh, that's odd." He said to himself. He listened to what was playing and it was a news report on missing children in the local area. apparently 4 kids had gone missing during the day before his first official night shift.
"That's unsettling. But I'm sure it has no relation to the pizza Plex or me." He comforted himself by saying that.
Cooper walked into his bedroom, set his alarm for 3 pm in the afternoon, put his Roxy plushie next to his alarm clock and fell asleep. What a night.
