The shuffle of sneakers combatted the deep reverberation of the work boots as the two awkwardly kept walking through parts and service. He didn't say a word, she didn't say a word.

Mainly confused and worried for his boy, Cooper walked on, not knowing what to expect. The longer they walked the more drastic his thoughts became.

Does she want to kill me? There was a fair share of murder in my time here... What did she mean when she said that she needs me? Where's she taking me? Is Gregory OK? Why was she going to meet Roxy?

They walked through the double doors and took a left to what looked like an underground parking lot.

Oh no.

Cooper knew what this place was, and he wasn't thrilled to me back. Not one bit. The walls and ceiling had been pushed to their limits, with concrete, rubble, dirt, and other underground rocks creating tripping hazards. The lights were dim as they led into a utility tunnel under construction. Pallets of wood, chain-link fence, and trash. So much trash. Barrels, mats, power tools, and a forklift could also be found. Walking through the fence they emerged at the spider's den.

Emma fearlessly strode into the catacomb like maze with seemingly no concern or worry of the half sentient half bloodthirsty endoskeletons that resided their. Cooper slowed his stroll whilst making sure to keep up with Emma, cautiously looking around to make sure they weren't going to be snuck up on. The endos felt like silent stalking predators, plotting for the perfect time to strike. Cooper felt like the moment he turned his back, they would pounce.

Several agonizing minutes and button presses later, the two arrived at a padded room, with a golden present and table in the centre. The room was large and had many endoskeletons strung up. There was only one sole light, keeping the room from pitch darkness. Then again perhaps the endos' eyes could have helped with that.

Emma took the chair in the middle.

"Why did you bring me here?"

"Blind spot in the cameras, and no one checks here. When the change over period happens in... " She checked her wristwatch. "3 minutes, they won't find you, so they won't kick you out. After they're done we can go back to Roxy and your kid."

"Why are you keeping me past closing? This is illegal!"

"Pbbbbbbtttttt." She blew a raspberry. "Like you care in the slightest."

Sigh.

"At least answer the question."

"I don't think you deserve answers... Pervert!"

Another sigh.

Cooper gave up standing and opted to lie down on the padded floor.

"How long will they take?"

"Usually around an hour. Get comfy."

"WHAT?"

"Oh relax, not like you have anything better to do other than make out with that robot. Besides, really think I want to be stuck here with you?" She barked. "That's rhetorical in case you didn't know."

Sigh.

Cooper pulled out his phone to message Gregory to ensure he was OK. All the while glancing at both the endos on the wall, and Emma to make sure nothing was trying to kill him, before going on to complete the day's wordle.

30 minutes earlier

"No. Spiderman would definitely win. No doubts about it." Gregory spoke.

"But Superman can fly, and shoot lasers out of his eyes. I do not think mere webs would be able to stop lasers." Freddy looked at Gregory.

"But if Spiderman had some kryptonite then superman would be hopeless. All his powers would be gone, and Spiderman doesn't have a weakness. Besides, how could Superman catch up to him when he's swinging around from building to building?" Gregory rebutted.

"But what are the chances that Spiderman could get his hands on kryptonite. If they were fighting in New York them it's zero, because kryptonite doesn't exist on this planet."

"But if they were fighting in Metropolis... People would be aware of Superman and his weakness, and so it would be everywhere. Either that or Spiderman would team up with Lex Luthor... And then get kryptonite webs! Green Webs! That would be awesome..."

The insightfully philosophical conversation was interrupted as the door opened with seemingly no warning. The two heads darted from each other to the figure in the doorway.

"Oh. Hello Emma, what a wonderful surpr-"

"No time for that Freddy, I'm kind of in A rush. Gregory, I need you to hide inside of Freddy, until I come back and say it's safe to get out, all right?"

"What? Who are you?" Gregory glanced in confusion.

"I'm the night guard... I need your help. Freddy, up for a little slumber party?"

Freddy was just as confused as Gregory.

"Is Gregory in danger?" He said, slightly panicked.

"No, he's safe. I just need him to be able to stay the night. Think you could let him?" Emma pleaded.

"I... I do not know..." There was hesitation in the mascot's voice.

"Please Freddy... And don't worry kid, your dad will stay with you."

Seemingly reassured by this comment, he caved in.

"It was really fun last time... if not scary... But if nothing's chasing me this time I'll do it."

"Great! Alright you heard him Freddy, open up."

"I still do not know if this is such a good idea..." He slowly and reluctantly opened up his stomach hatch for the boy to climb into. Gregory hopped on and crawled inside. The hatch was still open but it felt more cramped and claustrophobic then before. He couldn't even reach into his pockets. Freddy noticed he was not fitting so well either.

"Gregory, you have been growing." He joked. "If you are not comfortable in my chest cavity we can look for an alternative solution. The last thing I want is for you to feel uncomfortable."

"No, it's fine Freddy. Just a little tight is all. I'll be fine, don't worry about me."

"OK superstar. If anything goes wrong you let me know and we will be at the first aid station in no time." He slowly closed the hatch as Gregory squirmed, trying to get more comfortable in the closed off darkness. It was an oddly comfortable feeling, being inside a huge hunk of metal that could protect you from seemingly anything.

"Alright great. Make sure you stay there until I say otherwise." Emma then left out the door in haste.

The room became cold. Not that is wasn't already. The two didn't dare speak to each other, or make eye contact. A small static sound was the only thing that made noise, coming from Emma's security fazwatch as she flipped through the camera feed. There was no echo, as the soft, padded floor wouldn't allow for such a thing.

Eternity in a haze, universe's end in a blink, eventually the unmelting icicle of time was exposed to a fiery furnace. Drip by drip by drip.

Buzz. Buzz. Buzz. Buzz.

Eventually the sound stopped. Many, many, many, many minutes later. Safe to say the hour they had to wait was a lie. More like 4. Cooper dared not complain. He still wondered about Gregory, as he still had no response.

On her fuzzy, low quality greyscale security watch she witnessed employs begin to trickle out of the entrance. They came in droves as even more began leaving the attractions.

3 quarters asleep, Cooper didn't want to move when Emma jolted up and suddenly spoke. "Let's go." He felt like a child who had to rise early on a Sunday for a sports game. Eventually and reluctantly he reanimated and groggily followed Emma out of the hell hole they were in, still watching his back for those cursed endos.

Something flooded in. Memories. He felt nostalgic at his situation. Whilst under completely different circumstances, he was still reliving his memories. It felt euphoric. All the sounds, smells, and sights triggered something in him. Something beautiful yet painful. Romantic yet platonic. Sweet yet sour.

With a swing, the door to Roxanne's room opened, with Emma walking in before reluctantly making way for Cooper. His jaw trembled slightly as he hugged and was welcomed back by Roxanne. Emma saw them, and turned away in disgust.

Get some friends, Jesus.

She looked towards the door and reminded herself to retrieve Gregory and Freddy.

Having rounded up the cattle into Roxy's green room, the farmer laid down her plans for the evening.

"...A big scavenger hunt."

She finished as she laid schematics and blueprints onto the coffee table. The four in front of her sat up and looked at the images. Only now it was apparent how gargantuan the Mega pizza Plex truly was. Cooper's sense of scale to the place was numbed from being absent for so long.

"Cooper and Roxy, you'll search on the first floor, Gregory and Freddy, you'll search the second and third floor. I'll search the utility tunnels and everywhere else.

"So we are looking for... disks..?" Gregory questioned.

"Yes."

"This is why you kept us in tonight illegally... a couple of disks?" The boy continued to question her.

"Yes."

Silence engulfed the room for a moment.

"How do you even know that there's more than one? You've only found one." Cooper pressed.

"I'm sure of it. Just trust me." Cooper silently chuckled at the request for him to trust her.

"And finally... Cooper." Emma's voice dropped.

"Hmm?"

"You're girlfriend had informed me that you know a place where we can play the disks. Is she right? She said the word girlfriend in a mocking like manner. Roxy looked toward Emma disapprovingly.

"Yeah. It's been a while though. Doubt I'll remember where that room is."

Emma reconstructed her friendly facade. "Alright let's go." She clapped as she moved towards the exit.

With the strike teams assembled and everyone at their designated locations, the hunt was now on.

Claws beared and ready to pounce at a moments notice, Roxy slowly and cautiously looked around, like the wolf she was. Sniffing the air every so often to find the scent of... something.

"You do know we are looking for some CDs and not an animal or child... right?"

Roxy ignored his comment, and focused her attention to the very centre of the atrium where she spotted something with her sharp as a knife eyes. Cooper followed her and saw what she picked up in her hands. An old, retro, vinyl CD just like the one Emma had found. Funny, Cooper could've sworn that he had looked there before.

"She was right. There are more." Roxy commented as she looked at Cooper. "How did we not see this sooner? Would've thought I'd see this, or someone place this..." They turned to face each other.

"I missed it. Not sure how though. Guess I'll just open my eyes a little more next time."

"Well. I'm sure there's more out there. Let's keep looking."

They stuck together like glue as they wandered through the atrium, they held each other's hand. It was nice being able to wander the mall after hours alone.

"It's nice being with you after hours again." Roxy commented."

"Yeah. It is." They looked at each other.

They found disk, after disk, after disk, or rather Roxy did, thanks to her incredible eyes. Or maybe her nose. Cooper was just there for the emotional support and storage, he could barely spot the disks if they were two feet in front of him.

It was getting to the point that they struggled to carry all of them. They weighed a deceptive amount and took up plenty of space. Cooper volunteered to take their inventory back to base whilst Roxy kept searching, due to her uncanny ability.

Meanwhile up on the second floor, Gregory and Freddy were having trouble.

"How long have we been searching?"

"I will admit superstar, I would've thought we'd find at least one..."

"Maybe Emma's wrong. Maybe there's only 1 disk and she had it."

"Perhaps. But I believe it's in our best interest to keep searching. I think Emma will be very disappointed if we turn up empty handed." It was a half truth. Freddy didn't want to disappoint Emma, but he also wanted to spend as much time with Gregory as possible, for all he knew it was his last chance to do so overnight. He wanted to make the most of it.

They aimlessly wandered around the second floor, looking 5 meters in front of themselves, occasionally stopping to take in the gorgeous view, that seemingly no one could get enough of.

Fed up with the silence between the two, Freddy wanted Gregory to enjoy the time together.

"So Gregory. Continuing on from where we were interrupted, how would superman fare against Spiderman with kryptonite webs and Lex Luthor on his side?"

Gregory's eyelids shot up like a balloon inflating. Turning his head towards Freddy he enthusiastically responded.

"Superman wouldn't stand a chance if they teamed up!"

"I suppose so. Tell me superstar, out of curiosity, who's the strongest animatronic?"

"Is that even a question? You of course."

Freddy gave a hearty chuckle as he bent down to pick up the boy to give him a piggy-back. Gregory held on and smiled as they retraced their steps to the third floor.

"Hmm. So I would beat Spiderman with kryptonite webs?. I'm not weakened by it."

"Nuh uh, Spiderman would still kick your butt!"

"But you said I was the strongest. Are you lying to me?" Freddy playfully joked.

"No! But you still wouldn't beat Spiderman."

"Gregory! I thought I was your favourite! Perhaps I should go drop you off were Spiderman lives, if that will make you happier."

"What? No! I want to stay here with you!"

"Haha, if you insist." They kept walking and talking until they reached the escalators, upon which Gregory's glance was drawn somewhere.

"Hey Freddy, do you see that?" He pointed to the foot of the escalator.

He was pointing at nothing. But it was something. But it was also nothing. He saw a strange fuzz, a glare or low quality space on the floor, it was as if it was camouflaged. Gregory imagined this is what people without glasses saw when they weren't wearing them, and he wasn't half wrong. Upon the strange glitch like place being pointed out, Freddy took notice. He was as confused as Gregory.

"I... Do see it. I just do not know what that is."

The 'object' if they could even call it that was small, around the same size as a CD. It looked as though pixels were shedding off of the central point of the anomaly.

Gregory got down from Freddy's shoulders to get a closer look. The fazbear branded carpet beneath the thing was visible, but glitchy and warping too. Gregory waved his hand into it. Nothing happened.

"Do we... just need glasses or something?" Gregory asked, as he turned back to Freddy.

"I don't think so." Freddy's high tech scanners couldn't identify what the thing was, let alone what was going on.

The two exchanged glances.

"Perhaps we should go, and inform the others about our discovery."

The utility tunnels. She didn't come here often, because the place was cramped and a maze. If there was an attraction that needed tending to, Emma would just walk there above ground, on the first floor. Then again, the tunnels were mostly for dayshift staff.

She wandered around with her flashlight equipped, illuminating the ground in front of her. Whenever she came across a disk, the light of her flashlight was always reflected on the ruthlessly polished surface of the disk, making them a piece of cake to spot. She didn't find nearly as many as Roxanne did, but she managed to hold her own weight.

Wandering around the dimly lit, endless maze, she felt both independent and lonely. As gross as it was, Cooper had Roxy, Gregory had Freddy, and she had her shadow. She would kill for someone to be by her side, someone that loved her. In all truthfulness there was jealousy in the stew made of disgust that she offered to Cooper.

30 minutes later

"I think... It was over this way." Much hesitation went by before that was said by Cooper. He was very unsure due to the enormous amount of time that had passed. They all walked passed the highly narrow and claustrophobic first aid station that held so many memories. Passing through they made their way to a stairwell, which apon traversing brought them to a storage room leading to a vibrant neon green and pink hallway.

This one hallway had a bathroom in it, which was always dirty and covered in trash. Needless to say whenever Chica needed to cool off, this was where'd she come to.

Continuing on, the group reached an industrial walkway with pipes running everywhere, chain link fence surrounding them, and stream blasting from vents.

"You sure this is the right way?" Emma questioned.

"Nope."

They passed a secluded, hexagonal room which held an upside staff bot and red lights. They were very unsettled. Reflective, yellow railings lit the way forward for the gang.

"You know, about what you said Freddy, before I eventually saw the disks I do remember seeing things a little blurry, similar to what you described."

"I don't, just disks on the floor to me." Roxy commented.

They kept walking as the large, white pipes eventually retreated into the walls making way for a blank, khaki concrete wall.

"It's a dead end. Idiot."

"Uggghhh. Well can you blame me? it's been forever." Gregory, Freddy, Cooper and Emma began to argue and try to make sense of where a room with a CD player would be.

Roxy looked closer at the wall and caressed it.

"No it's not." She pushed the wall as it subtly and silently bent. No use. All of a sudden, Roxy turned vicious, repeatedly punching and slashing the wall as it cracked and folded, as dust rocketed out with rubble and debris sent flying.

Everyone backed up to avoid the splash zone as Roxy performed her magic. She repeatedly grunted as she eviscerated her non sentient opponent. Cooper was surprised she was this willing to get herself dirty, and potentially damage herself.

The animatronics and humans knew Roxy was capable of destruction but they didn't know just how willing she was. Cooper stared on in awe.

That's my girlfriend... Wow. Everyday I love her even more.

Gregory leaned towards Freddy and whispered.

"You know that question you asked me about the strongest animatronic? Yeah, I changed my mind."

Once the dust had settled and the rubble was pushed aside, a brand new room was revealed. Roxy looked at her hands and her arms, before pulling her hair over to reveal it all covered in dust and debris. She glanced at her right hand, then held it with her wrist. Witnessing what had happened with her hand, her mouth morphed into an upside-down 'u', and her eyes knew what time it was. If only she would think before acting.

She predictably became upset at her self afflicted lack of beauty, so she excused everyone to take a trip to her salon to refresh her appearance, whilst leaving behind a trail of tears. That left just 4.

They all walked into the strange room with the same feelings. A semi dark tint accented the lighter green walls. Several posters for different attractions around the establishment littered the walls. An old, 80's style TV sat atop a wooden stool. A strange sun decal hung above a lampshade just right of the TV. In the centre lay an old, leather chair that looked worn.

To the left of the room was a bench, with a tub of stale as could be popcorn and a CD player. Atop the TV lay a basket of butters. Exotic butters, that had been unaffected by time. The far wall was home to strange symbols. A code of some sort, yet to be deciphered by the group, or anyone for that matter.

Taking a look around, Cooper knew where his priorities were. He deposited the CDs Roxy and him found onto the table just left of the recorder, then he excused himself in order to locate and comfort his mistress. That left just 3.

"Pbbbbt. You guys gonna go to?" Emma queried sarcastically.

"No. I want to hear what is on these disks. And I'm sure Gregory does too." Freddy rubbed Gregory's plastic like brown hair.

The 3 waltzed into the room and took a look around. The TV turned on, seemingly aware of their presence. It started playing an old 80's Freddy fazbear pizzeria cartoon/ad. Freddy and Friends, On tour. The visuals consisted of the original Freddy, Bonnie and Chica enacting a Scooby do episode of sorts, with Foxy being the culprit. It was short, only lasting around a minute. The last 30 seconds of the ad was a musical, with Freddy taking stage on a chopped down tree stump.

The show abruptly ended, with static taking it's place. A long tentacle slithered across the screen before it turned itself off. Freddy, Emma and Gregory were very creeped out and didn't know what to make of it. They all looked at one another.

"You sure you want to play those disks?" Gregory hesitantly asked.

"A little less sure, but still sure.

Freddy picked up a disk and inserted it.

"Be careful... Who knows what's going to happen. This place was probably sealed off for a reason." Emma cautioned.

"It is just a disk. How bad could it be?" Freddy clearly had never watched Jojo.

He pressed play.

A short delay occurred before the disk began to slowly spin clockwise. Distorted noises came from the disk as the spinning got faster. The incoherent sounds eventually became something recognizable, before sounding like a human.

The digital face on the player lit up with numbers. The 3 waited.

Hello Vanessa. How are you feeling today? An unfamiliar woman spoke with a deep voice. You look a little tired.

...

Well, it's been a while since we last spoke. The woman sounded as if she was a therapist.

...

How's your anxiety been?

...

You did so well with your calming protocols when we first worked together. Are you still using those?

Yes? OK, good.

Well, now I understand there's a new issue. It came on rather suddenly. Can you tell me about it?

The disk was ejected out as Emma collected it. She confiscated the disks on the table next to it.

"We shouldn't be listening to this." She said, panicked and in somewhat of a frenzy. She barely had all the disks in hand as she ran off through the broken wall, stumbling and almost tripping over the debris.

Gregory and Freddy were shocked. They didn't expect a therapy session to be on the disks, but they certainly didn't expect the cool, calm, collected Emma to get so worried upon listening to them.

"What was that?" Gregory questioned Freddy for answers, of which he had none.

"Your guess is as good as mine, superstar. Although that seemed suspicious. I don't know why she would just run like that."

How much did they get? Why was this recorded? It could ruin me! I can't let the others find out... I'll listen to them later and figure out how much they got... I need to hide these in the meantime!

Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

"If you're going to come in anyways, why knock?" The wolf commented, looking over her shoulder. She was still sobbing.

"Because it's polite." Cooper walked up to her and tried to avoid all the magazines, advertisements, food and trash on the floor. Roxy sat atop a high swivel chair facing into a large mirror, with neon lights illuminating all around it. He grabbed a swivel chair and sat next to her as he looked towards her in the mirror.

Roxy sat facing downwards as her broken, disfigured hands covered her face. She felt as Cooper hugged her.

"You can move your hands." He gently pulled her hands away from her face, persuading her to look at the mirror. Roxy's mascara had melted, and followed the path of her tears, with her eyelids conveying all her emotions.

"I'm hideous!" She broke down again, covering her face.

Cooper sighed as he looked at her. He grabbed a nearby hairbrush and attempted to remove some of the dust that had gotten into Roxanne's hair.

Roxy felt the gentle stroking of the hairbrush and simmered down, she enjoyed it.

"It's easy to find all the dust and what not, because it sticks out in your bright hair. Oh, sorry, your gorgeous bright hair." There was heavy emphasis on the word, gorgeous.

A small smile formed on the wolf's face.

"Might be a bit tricky on the green bit though." He caressed her green strand of hair as he tenderly moved it out the way of her face, his hand followed to her cheek where he gently stroked the disgruntled wolf with his thumb.

Roxy quivered her mouth slightly, before her hand held his on her face. Cooper bent down and kissed her hair. They looked at each other in the mirror, Cooper swearing that he saw a little bit of pink on Roxy's other cheek.

He continued brushing.

"It was really cool, you busting that wall down like it was a house of cards."

"Felt good to get some anger out. I pretended it was Emma for a moment."

"Woah, didn't know you felt that way about her."

"I overheard her being rude about you. About us. Not to mention she took you away from me."

Cooper blushed.

"I guess. But from her point of view I understand. It's a little strange me being with you. You know, robot and all."

"Don't say that."

Some time passed by with the only sounds being luscious hair moving through bristles.

"Look, I want you to know... That I'll love you no matter what you look like. I'll always be here for you. And if you need anything from me. Anything at all. Just ask."

Roxy quivered again. So, so many butterflies.

She quietly mumbled a thank you, being overwhelmed with flattery.

He kept brushing and cleaning her hair. Eventually, it was good as new. Cooper opened some drawers until he found a cloth. He wet it before tending to Roxy's face, cleaning up her mascara, making her beautiful again.

"That better?"

She looked at herself in the mirror.

"Yes."

"So how did you even know that the wall was fake?

"My eyes... It was almost like they could see through it. It was weird. Something seemed off about it. I don't know, I had this feeling."

"Hmm. How's your hand?"

"Bad." She held her right hand up, to reveal a disfigured, moulded hand with sharp jagged plastic pieces poking out, endoskeleton parts visible, and paint scratched away, revealing dull and depressing colours.

"My nails..." Roxy loved her nails. She came to the salon every day to top them off, and ensure that both she and they were the best. She loved her face first and foremost, then her hair, then her nails.

"Please don't worry. Parts and service will have you fixed up in no time, tomorrow." He sat next to her.

He held her hand. It was sharp, painful and cold. None of that mattered though. Roxy looked at him.

"Thank you."

Their mouths came close and attached to each other, like magnets.
