AU Series: Dragon Ball Z / Super. Chapter: Future Trunks, Part 1: The Wish.
Trunks... had lost... everyone. All his friends... His entire family... all he had left was his mother... but she died this morning. Most of the world had been destroyed, thanks to the Androids.
Trunks was desperate, and used his mother's time machine. Not to save Goku... but to meet the Dragon. Not even the one on Earth, but the Namekian one.
He Travelled back to the height of the Namekian Empire, before the storm that devastated their world... and when the Dragon Balls were simply waiting for others to find them.
The clouds trembled into a black mass of thunder and lightning, as a massive dragon, the size of a small town, manifested in the Sky.
"Speak your wish." The Eternal Dragon demanded.
Trunks gulped, but steeled his nerves. "I wish I had the ability to travel through time, without creating pocket dimensions. With perfect knowledge of how to control it."
The Dragon's eyes glowed red. "It is done. 2 wishes left."
Trunks gasped, as his mind suddenly exploded with a new form of awareness. He saw all of history lay out before him. All the paths that could occur... or could have occurred. Even Realizing...
The Dragon smiled, "My purpose is not to simply give you what you want. But grant your wishes in the way that will make you the happiest."
Slowly, Trunks smiled, "Guess I don't have to wish for immortality now."
The Dragon smiled back, "Masters of temporal mechanics, live outside time. Able to send their consciousness back in time, to merge with a past self, whenever they die. While also becoming immune to aging.
"All while being able to will themselves into any moment of history. Be warned once you travel to any moment, you become fixed to that moment. And cannot change it... although you can always get around that by sending your consciousness back to your past body. "
Trunks... gulped. That was really more then he intended. But certainly not more then he wanted. He kinda just expected to give his mother's time machine an upgrade... but now he didn't even need it.
"Next Wish," The Dragon demanded.
Trunks thought on it a moment, deciding to help everyone else. "I wish every sapient race, in my universe, that exist or will exist, has a Saiyan's ability to go super, train anywhere, along with aging like we do.
"Meaning would start small, then go through a massive growth spurt at 15. At which point they start aging by Galactic Standard Years, staying in their prime longer, and not degrading until their last 7% of their life."
The Dragon chuckled, "The Fates are going to hate you. but it is done, last wish."
Trunks stood tall, now making the real wish originally intended. "I wish I broke my limiter. That I reached my dormant potential, and went passed it. With perfect control of my power."
The dragon smiled. "This will push, the other powers you wished for, into legendary levels... something I normally wouldn't be able to do. I'm impressed."
The Dragon's eyes glowed one last time, and Trunks' temporal powers expanded further. Allowing him to teleport, create seals, have access to his own personal subspace, and bloody well freeze time.
His new powers, over time and space, were even expanded to bend luck. Trunks had once stumbled on a, mostly intact, comic book. About a super hero who's power was unfathomable luck. She was near unbeatable as a result.
He was now a living Paradox, existing both outside time, yet being able to affect it.
But his power increase didn't stop at temporal powers. He could transform in a way to combine Super Saiyan God, with Super Saiyan 4... in addition to having his base form increase in power by the factor of a universe buster.
All while having perfect control of his strength, in any form.
Once Trunks' wishes were granted. The Dragon turned into light, and split off into 7 different directions. With the Sky, soon there after, turning back to a pleasant blue.
From there, Trunks got to work.
