I'm trying to keep this going! I took a little weekend break and was only able to get out an update for Follow You last night. (If you haven't read that, go! Its my take on what would have happened to Jessica and Phil after 7 years) Also, if you reviewed thank you! It's so nice to see people are still enjoying this after all this time. WWE owns all you know, AEW owns theirs, TNA theirs and Jess is mine! Enjoy!
~The Next Morning - Jessica's POV
"That's tomorrow's problem." He chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"Goodnight sweetheart." He said as I drifted off into a peaceful sleep with thoughts of him, and the small feelings that had started to develop.
My eyes fluttered open and began to adjust to the sunlight that now filled my room. I had finally slept and it felt so good. I yawned big and stretched out my arms, nudging Phil in the process. He jolted at the push, eyes opening and began to stretch after realizing where he was.
"I forgot you were here." I said sleepily. He chuckled.
"I tried to leave, you told me not to." He said, "I believe you said it was tomorrow's problem." He finished with humor in his voice.
"And now it's tomorrow." I said.
"So, where do you want to go from here?" He asked. "I could go out the window and back down the ladder or we can give an extra shot of energy by shocking your family downstairs."
"As much as I'd love to rattle them this morning, I'm not sure how to deal with the after shocks."
"It would be quite a pretty scene but I get what you mean, window it is." He said, snuggling closer. I wiggled my way deeper into his arms, very content with the feeling it gave me. We stayed there for a few moments until a knock came at my door.
"Ms. McMahon, are you awake? Your presence is being requested at breakfast." Came from a worker on the other side. I sighed.
"Soon this won't be a problem." Phil said.
"I can't wait." I said truthfully. We both got up, I grabbed my robe and slippers, Phil started tying his sneakers. I walked over to the window to open it up and I gasped.
"What?" He asked.
"Ladder's gone." I said.
"Ladder's gone?" He asked slightly alarmed.
"Yup." I said popping the p. "They know you're here."
"Well I guess it's plan B then." He said standing up. We approached the door together and met the shocked face of the housekeeper.
"Is..Is…Is Mr. Brooks joining the family for breakfast?" She asked shakily. Poor woman was definitely picturing things she didn't want to.
"Yes, he is." I answered calmly. She nodded and led us downstairs, when we arrived to the dining room all talking and movement stopped. Phil and I walked over to the two empty chairs where the kitchen staff was hurriedly creating another place setting.
"Good morning everyone!" Phil said with a huge smile. No one said a thing until my father.
"Good morning Mr. Brooks! So nice to have you join us this morning." My father said with just as much enthusiasm as Phil.
"Please sir, call me Phil. I am going to be your son in law soon." He said pouring himself and me coffee. I picked my mug up and took a sip.
'Well in that case call me dad." My father said. I choked on my coffee as everyone whipped to look at my dad. I don't know how Phil breaks walls down so fast, but I guess that's how he's gotten to where he is. Slowly everyone returned to normal conversations. My sister and mother fussed over the kids, my dad giving simple tasks to Randy, Dave and Paul.
"So do you two have plans today?" My sister Stephanie asked me. I opened my mouth but Phi answered.
"I'm surprising Jessica today actually." Mission accomplished, this was already news to me.
"Oh really?" My mother chimed in, "With what?"
"I've been getting my house ready for Jessica's arrival, I want her to see what I've had done for her." He said, looking at me with a smile. I smiled back.
"Well isn't that sweet." Randy dryly chimed in. My father shot him a look.
"Do you need Randy to accompany you?" My father asked, intentions to force Randy to suffer.
"No, I rather Jessica get used to life without someone like him." He said smirking at Randy. Randy scowled in response.
"Well, I trust you Phil. No one will go with you." My father said, "but while you're here, I'd love to discuss the Carter deal."
"With all due respect, Dad…" he started winking at me, "I rather not discuss business in such an informal setting around the family. I like to enjoy time with family."
"Such a good man, after breakfast then, while Jessica gets herself together." He said smiling. Phil nodded.
"How do you do it?" I whispered to Phil.
"Oh this is nothing sweetheart, just wait." He whispered back. Breakfast finished up and my father was more than ready to discuss business. He motioned to Phil who squeezed my thigh and kissed the top of my head. My eyes widened, my sister smiled, my mother put her hand on her chest and Randy rolled his eyes. Dave chuckled whacked him in the back of the head and he, Randy and Paul followed them out. I stood up with intent to leave when Stephanie stopped me.
"You really like him, don't you?" She asked me smiling.
"Why do you say that?" I asked.
"You're very at ease with him, you smile and giggle, you keep close to him and the way you look at him really gives it away." She said.
"So, what's the big deal?" I asked causally.
"You know he's really into you. He looks at you the way Paul looks at me. Ready to kill or be killed for you." She told me.
"You really think so?" I asked smiling.
"See? You do like him! You care that he cares."
"I mean we are getting married." I said.
"I know you weren't happy this was happening, but I think it's the best thing that did happen to you." She said, "I'm happy that you're going to be so happy…even if you don't know it yet." She touched my back and went back to the kids. I headed upstairs and jumped in the shower, figuring Phil would be awhile. I came out, did my hair and make up and threw on shorts and a simple shirt. Just as I finished up, the housekeeper came up to let me know Phil was ready to leave. I headed downstairs to see him laughing with Paul and my father. He stopped when he saw me.
"Don't you look beautiful." He said smiling. I blushed.
"See you around Phil." Paul said before saying bye to me.
"Have fun you two, Phil take care of my daughter today." My father said, we began to walk out the door when my father stopped us.
"Oh, and Phil?" He started, Phil turned around, "Next time you come in the middle of the night, use the front door. Ladder is in your car." He finished. I turned red and Phil laughed as we headed to the car. Never did I think this would turn out this well.
"Sweetheart you're going to have to sit in the back." He told me.
"Why?" I pouted.
"Your father needs me to keep you safe, that means keeping you in the back behind tinted windows so no one from the Carter family sees you." He said opening the back door for me. I nodded sadly.
"Don't be sad, once we are at the house no one will see us." He winked and closed the door. The ride to his house was silent. I couldn't wait to see what Phil was doing for me as well as seeing where I would be living. It wasn't long before a gate was opening and Phil drove up the long driveway. He parked out front got out and came around to open my door. He led me to the door as one of his men came to take the car around to his garage.
"Welcome home sweetheart." He said opening the door. Phil's house was beautifully decorated. He had an open foyer and large windows everywhere. No matter where you stood you had an incredible view of the surrounding landscape. I immediately noticed construction out in the yard. He followed my gaze and spoke.
"That's one surprise for you." He said putting an arm around my waist, "I'm having a garden built similar to the one you have at your house. Complete with the bench and same tree where I proposed." I smiled, he really was so sweet at the core of it all. I smiled brightly at him.
"Can I pick the flowers for the garden?" I asked excitedly.
"Absolutely, it's your garden."
Phil brought me around the house, showing me various spots that I could hang out in. He made sure to make me feel that it was my house and nothing was off limits. Not even his office like my father's was growing up.
"Why wouldn't you be allowed in here, you're going to be my wife." He had said to me.
"My father didn't want me to be involved, he wanted none of us to know." I told him.
"We're equal partners babe, that's how a marriage works. You come here whenever you want." He told me, grabbing my hand and leading me to the next room. It was under construction, but walls were up and a bathroom was taking shape from the room.
"This will be your suite." He told me, "There's a spot for your bed, a place to do your school work, here is a sitting area and you have your own bathroom. The closest are not ready yet, I got you custom shelving that's honestly taking forever." He started, "If you want anything changed let me know, of course you'll pick out your own furniture."
"This…is my room?" I asked.
"Yes…do you not like it?" He asked concerned.
"No, it's beautiful…" I said, "but where will you be?" I asked.
"In my room, down this hall." He said leading me to it. It was clearly a man's room, decorated in all modern furniture in various shades of dark grey.
"We won't sleep together?" I asked.
"I told you, I won't push you for anything you're not ready for. I wanted to give you your own space." He said looking at me, he snaked his arms around my waist. I was starting to crave the physical contact from him.
"What if I don't want my own space, I don't want my own room…I want to share one with you." I said looking into his eyes. His eyes widened when I confessed my need.
"You want to share my room? You want to sleep in the same bed?" He asked.
"Yes, I want to share your room, in the same bed, with my husband." I said moving closer to him.
"How about this," he started, "forget my room…let's change the plans for your room and make it our room. We can start new together." He said smiling, I smiled back. We stayed there for a minute enjoying the contact. I saw what my sister was saying. Reflected in his gaze was that kill or be killed for you, a look of love and affection. It only broke when I spoke, with a new request.
"Phil…" I started, my voice barely a whisper.
"Yes?" He answered just a softly.
"Kiss me." I said.
"Are you sure?" He asked huskily.
"Kiss me." I said more sternly. He didn't question me that time. His lips came down hard and jolts of electricity ran through my body. My arms made it around his neck and he lifted me into his harms. His tongue ran across my bottom lip and I opened allowing him access. I pulled at his hair as he squeezed my ass. I knew right then and there that I'd never have enough of him, I'd always want and need more.
I'd kill or be killed for this man.
I've been waiting for this first kiss for years! I'm so happy I'm finally able to really let them be who've I've imagined. I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
