If it weren't for the obvious tension in the air the brunette would of laughed. Instead he decided to call his opponent on his strange behavior. "I admit Ikki-san that I underestimated you. You have a weird sense of honor don't you?"
The older student quickly hid his shock at the statement. "What do you mean Shirahama?"
The freshman gestured at the chalk ring. "You made a boxing ring yourself. I bet you intend to make this as official as possible too."
The pony tailed boy took a moment to collect himself. Then reflected on what caring for others got him. His face became a mask of anger and focus. "Yeah whatever, just for that. To prove to you the difference in our strength I won't use my left arm at all."
"No way, your Lethal Left!" Kenichi soon took an offensive stance. "Your overconfidence won't do you any favors."
"Maybe your right, we'll just have to see won't we." Takeda started showing off his footwork as he bounced in place. He adjusted his timer appropriately then started it after a few more words. "Now then you can use any style you want. Then when I win. We're going to see Nanjo-san. So let's begin." With the starting of his timer the two boys began trading blows.
Kenichi found it hard to find an opening. The boxer definitely had good defense. Eventually, he saw his chance for Appachai's training to bear fruit. The low kick caused his target to stagger back.
Takeda hid the pain well as he regained his footing. 'Such power behind that. Is this kid some kind of mutant?' The older guy was losing ground quickly. However, soon it was back to another slugfest between two boys.
The younger disciple soon found another opening for a low kick. 'For only using one arm his defense is amazing. I have to make him use his other arm. Otherwise I'll feel like I won unfairly.' However, just as he charged aiming for his opponent's left side the timer went off. He managed to stop so suddenly it surprised the other guy.
"Why did you stop?" The senior student was genuinely confused.
That means it's a break, right?" The brunette pleaded.
"Yeah, out of respect for your honor in playing along. Let me tell you a little story." The boxer soon explained about his last fight as an honest student. Before he became a delinquent.
"Dang man, that's harsh. I'm sorry for your misfortune Ikki-san." He felt genuine sympathy for the guy.
"Shut it kid, I don't need your pity. Breaks over, now fight like you mean it." In a fit of rage Takeda charged.
Kenichi was forced to defend himself. At least until the purple haired senior went off the roof. "Okay fights over, you can use your left hand now." His grip was slipping and he needed better purchase. When he lost the struggle he thought they both were in for a terrible fall. Thankfully Ukita chose that moment to wake up and run to their aid.
"Idiot, it's paralyzed. Were you even listening to my story?." Soon the more muscular thrower had the others safely on the roof.
"Damn, you fools are a load of trouble!" The tallest teenager of the three stated with annoyance. Suddenly, a blonde girl appeared glaring at her seniors. Then she began beating them soundly.
A short time later...
"Sorry senpais, though you have to admit it looked pretty bad." The older guys nodded in agreement. Miu had a look of frustration on her face.
"Anyway, how about you two leave that street gang of yours? A bunch of delinquents will only drag you down in the end. Imagine what will happen when you two graduate High School." Kenichi felt like he made some valid points.
Ukita laughed despite himself. "Damn kid, your not my dad alright. Just cause you beat me with ease." He glanced at his only friend with a smile. "Unlike Takeda, I'm not into fair play." Then he frowned before continuing. "Besides, someone has to keep Ragnarok's farewell beat down away as long as possible." The big man stood and started walking away. He stopped before exiting the roof and looked back. "Later, Takeda the Puncher." He waved at the others as he left.
"See you again, Ukita the Thrower." The purple haired guy smiled as his buddy departed. Next, he turned to the other two. "Thanks to you guys. I have officially been beaten worse than I ever have. Either of you, know a doctor that can keep our fight to themselves?"
Kenichi shared a look with Miu. She nodded positively to his unspoken question. "Yeah man, I know just the guy. Also, thanks to prior experience I'm confident he can fix your paralyzed arm. Otherwise, I would already be dead." After school, the pair headed to Ryozanpaku with a confused boxer in tow.
A certain hideout...
"Really, is that so?" Kisara grinned sinisterly at the news she just received. "Now I'm really curious about Shirahama. I have to bring him into the fold after he defeated two of the Takedown Trio. Or make sure he can never fight again." As she headed out she was stopped by an annoying brawler.
"Wait Nanjo-kun let me try to get the kid first." The black haired brute stated with confidence.
She mulled it over for a bit then answered. "Fine Tsuji, I have something more important to do anyway. So consider it a gift from the next Greatest Fist." The red head departed without further conversation.
The man in question barely held his anger in. 'We'll see about that you cocky fool. You won't be getting ahead of me once I bring in such a promising recruit.'
Outskirts of Chinatown...
"Who are you supposed to be. I've got to get to work and your in the way." Renka was really irritated today. She lost time with Kenichi, because he had to rush to the dojo. Though given how badly Takeda was injured she couldn't really blame him. Her boy was such a sweetheart helping his former enemy without hesitation like that.
A taller brown haired short cut woman looked down at the Chinese girl. She was wearing jean shorts and a tank top. She clearly had well defined muscles in her legs and arms. "Executive member of Ragnarok Lin Hihmin. I hear your the one who broke my spies legs. You owe me payment in pain and screams."
"Um, could you be more specific? I don't really keep track of every gang member I pummel." The black haired beauty was genuinely unsure who this chic was talking about.
The woman glared daggers at her. "Taichi Koga, also known as The Kicker!"
"Oh, that pervert. So he was a spy for you huh, interesting. I didn't think a bunch of street toughs even did that." She took up a defensive position and waited. "Alright then show me what you got. Like I already said. I don't have all day." Renka took measure of her opponent.
"You arrogant witch. I'm going to enjoy beating you down." Lin took on an aggressive stance. My Kickboxing will defeat you in no time." She charged the younger girl without remorse.
A straight punch followed my three consecutive kicks were easily dodged. As the kenpo practitioner measured her obstacles skill she noted a few things. 'Her speed and precision aren't bad. Definitely better than her boy toy. Either way Uncle Hakabi might do something drastic if she didn't hurry.'
Suddenly Lin's uppercut was caught at the wrist. Off balance she tried to get some space with a low kick. However, the foreigner was able to flip behind her while still grasping her arm. Then with continued momentum she delivered a tripping maneuver of her own. Soon she kissed the pavement and saw no more as she fell unconscious.
"Shoot, I should of held back a little more. Oh well I better take her to a hospital or something." She looked at an electronic clock in a store window. 'This late already. Well I am closer to the restaurant than a medical building. I'm sure my uncle can figure something out.' She hoisted the bigger woman onto her back with ease. She laughed musically in that moment. "It's funny, if not for my Kenichi. I would probably just have left you in the street without hesitation." She smiled happily as she headed home. 'I wonder if he would reward me for this?'
Ryozanpaku...
Just after his jiujitsu master finished with Takeda. The poor purple haired guy was unconscious from the pain. Kenichi sneezed out of the blue and felt strangely warm. 'I hope I'm not getting sick. Renka and I have a date tomorrow, after school.'
