"Cause we are going to the chapel and we're going to get married!" Kathleen sang as she danced around her kitchen making herself breakfast. She was in a great mood. The night before she had one of the best dreams of her life. In it Tony had come over and made them a romantic dinner and afterward he had proposed! She had been so happy! When she had woken up she had felt slightly sad when she realized it was only a dream but her happiness quickly took over. Maybe the dream was a premonition. She really didn't believe in that kind of stuff but she had friends that did so who knows? When she and Tony had first started dating she honestly never thought of them getting married. She just wanted to have a little fun but things quickly changed. And when Tony had told her about the talk he had with her Father about children and children's children well the thought of them getting married and having children began to appeal to her.
So she started dropping hints. The first had been when she had asked his advice and help in redecorating her apartment. As she had told him she wanted him to feel comfortable like it was his home. The second had been when one of her co-workers was pregnant and was having a baby shower she had asked him to help her pick out a gift. She still remembered his face lighting up looking at all the baby items and when he saw an actual baby his whole demeanor changed. He became like a kid himself making funny faces and cooing at them. After they had gotten back to her place she had subtly asked him if he had ever regretted not having any more kids. He had replied that he had but that there wasn't anything that he could do about it now.
'Oh yes there is Tony!' she silently thought. We can get married and start our own family. But he had to come to this realization himself. Sure, she could gently nudge him but she couldn't push him. If she did, everything would fall down like a house of cards. She had to be careful. If she was too aggressive she could lose him. She didn't want that to happen. She couldn't let that happen. She wouldn't let that happen.
She would do whatever it took to make her dream come true.

"I Andrew, take thee Angela to be my wedded wife.." Tony listened to Andy reciting his wedding vows to Angela. The church was packed with people but all he could see was Angela. She looked beautiful. Her wedding dress flowed like a waterfall to her ankles. Her hair was up in a French braid. Next to her Isabelle and Wendy served as bridal attendants .
"I promise to love you and honor you.." Andy droned on.
Tony couldn't believe this was happening. When Angela had first told him that Andy had proposed he had been shocked. Not that he should have been after all they had been dating for awhile. But it still shook him to the core. He had felt a momentarily feeling of relief when she had said she needed to think about it. Of course she would realize that she couldn't marry Andy! It wouldn't be right. She obviously didn't love him and marrying him wouldn't be fair to either of them. But he had been wrong. After a lot of soul searching Angela had decided to say yes.
And now here they were. Angela was marrying another man. All because he had made the stupid mistake of getting involved with Kathleen. He liked her. He enjoyed the time they spent together but anything beyond that like getting married was definitely not what he wanted. She was a wonderful woman but he just didn't see her as his wife.
And he definitely never saw Angela as Andy's wife.
He had seen her as his though. He knew it was crazy. She was his boss. She was his best friend. They came from two very different worlds. The thing was he never felt like he was good enough for her. He was her housekeeper! Sure he was going to College to become a teacher but he still felt inadequate. So that was why he had told her he didn't know if it was over with Kathleen after she had found out they had spent the night together. He knew he had hurt her and them but he had to do it. He had to forget or at least try to forget his feelings for her.
It hadn't been easy though. He still cringed at the memory of him taking Kathleen out just so he could spy on Angela and Christopher. He had tried to downplay it to Kathleen by telling her that he was afraid that Angela was moving too fast and that he was worried about her. But deep down he knew the truth. He was jealous that another man was making her glow. He was jealous that another man was making her laugh. That was once his job before he had broken her heart.
And now his heart was breaking watching her get married to someone else.
"I can't believe this is happening!" Mona grumbled beside him. Her arms crossed her lips in a childish pout.
"Tell me about it!" Jonathan sighed heavily.
"You know Dad, you could have stopped this at any time." Sam glared at him.
"You tell him Sam!" Mona winked at her.
"Aye Oh! Oh Aye! What do you mean? I mean what do you want me to do? Go up there and throw her over my shoulder and carry her out?"
"That could work." Jonathan grinned.
"Yeah, I mean it would be so romantic." Sam sighed.
"I mean come on Tony. Remember when you climbed up to Angela's bedroom window and begged and pleaded with her not to marry Geoffrey?'
"Yeah."
"Well you need to do something like that again. You can't let this wedding continue."
"Yeah, Tony. Please stop it!" Jonathan begged him.
Sam didn't say anything but her eyes conveyed her feelings perfectly.
Tony looked up at the altar where Angela was just about to say her vows. Instead she turned around and looked straight at Tony.
"Tony, aren't you going to stop me?" she asked, tears falling down her face. "Do you really want me to marry Andy?'
Tony stood up. He looked around. Everyone was gone. It was just the two of them. He began walking toward her…..
BUZZ!
Tony woke up in shock. He turned off his alarm and fell back against his pillows. His whole body was shaking and sweat was pouring down him. He got up and walked to the bathroom and splashed some cold water on his face. He looked at himself in the mirror. He looked terrible. He felt terrible. The dream-no nightmare- had been one of the worst he had ever had. He was happy that it had been only a nightmare but it still shook him to the core.
What if it actually came true? What if Angela decided she wanted to marry Andy?
What would he do then?
He already knew he didn't want to marry Kathleen. Sure she was fun to be with but he didn't see her as wife material. At least not as his. But lately he had been getting the feeling that she wanted him to propose. Like the time she had thrown her arms around him and said that she was so happy after he had told her about the talk he had had with her Dad about his biological clock ticking. And the time she had asked him what style he thought would look best in her apartment. She had told him that she wanted him to feel comfortable like it was his home. So he said that he would help her and together with a few other people from Ridgemont who were majoring in Interior Design had transformed her apartment. But the truth was no matter how nice her apartment looked he still didn't feel at home there.
There was only one place that he did. And as much as he hated to think about it, it was very possible that someday it would feel less like a home.
And if or when that ever happened he would have no one to blame but himself.
