Harry was feeding the small Owl, Hedwig, a scrap of meat. Somehow the Dursley's had not noticed the Owlet in his room in the last two days. He suspected Breezy had done something to hide the babe from their sight and ears until she was big enough to defend herself.

Today he was going to have his first lesson in shielding with magic and how to bind those shields to the psychic shields that hide his magic from others. Breezy was insistent that this was the most important thing he could learn. Which was odd, given the other Sylphs that showed up from time to time tried urging her to teach him to be something called an Air Ward. Breezy had chased off her sisters and just told Harry he could learn nothing more until he had mastered those lessons. She had described in some detail what a dark magician or elemental could do if they got hold of him. He needed no other urging. He looked up as the door to his room and his Aunt came in.

"We are going to get school supplies, since Dudley will be going with you for at least this term. Get ready, we leave in an hour."

She left and Harry got up and changed his clothes. He was still wearing hand-me-downs from Dudley and they fit him so badly. He sighed, eager for his magic lessons that evening.

Ginny was at her limit with her lessons. She sighed as her father again had her setting up her psychic protections as quickly as she could. Until her ability to control fire magic came in, this was all she was cable of doing and it irked her than even Ron had come into his powers now. She looked in envy at Ron learning to weave a simple shield of magic around himself. As he wasn't a Master, he could not call upon the Salamanders to further bolster his reserves of magic and there was not always a source of fire at hand. This meant that fire magicians were often the most vulnerable as they had to expend far more of their own resources to make shields that could compare to those that were maintained by a source of earth, air, or water. Then again, she remembered reading about Spirit Masters and Mages and was thankful she was Fire.

Her father tested her shield and smiled. "Ginny, I know you have mastered this exercise. You are letting your frustrations weaken your protection. Passion is strong in a Fire magician, but you need to know when to rein it in or it will cause you trouble."

Ginny blushed, knowing he spoke truly. The more passionate a Fire Master, the stronger they were. Yet, there were times when more heat would spoil instead of aid. Baking was an example of this. You need to temper passion with patience to use Fire correctly.

"I'm sorry Dad," she said earnestly. "I just wish my powers would hurry up and come in."

He smiled and pulled her into a hug. She hugged him back happily. "I know my little bottle rocket. But we can't rush these things. Coming into your powers and responsibilities comes as you grow up. I'll be very proud the day you get yours, but also a little sad. My youngest child, my little girl, will nearly be a grown up when that happens, after all."

She got on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek. "I'll always be your little girl, Dad. Even when I'm an adult and married. Nothing will ever change that."

He laughed, a little nervous. "Let's not talk about you getting married until your thirty-five." He stated as she heard her Mummy chuckle.

"Oh please, Arthur." She scolded. "Be reasonable. Magicians don't tend to be single for long, one way or the other. Why, she could meet her destiny today or tomorrow. The magic always knows, even if we do not. Remember when we met?"

Her dad's face turned dreamy. "Yes dear, it was like the world stopped moving around us. Like there was a fine cord running from my heart to yours. I asked your parents to court you within a week."

Ginny stuck her tongue out and fake vomited. Surely she would not be so starstruck when she met her future husband.

"Ginerva Weasley, you better shape up if you want a treat after our shopping trip today," Her mother scolded. "Though why a Fire girl is so obsessed with ice cream is beyond me. That's a Water or Air food if I ever saw one."

Ginny grinned. She was obsessed with the creamy and cold treat. She didn't tell her mother that she had shared some with her Salamanders before. The elementals had seemed to like it as well.

"It's good Mummy," she said with a smile. "Besides, I know you and Dad enjoy it too."

Both her parents just shook their heads but did not deny her words.

"Go get ready, cheeky monkey." Her Dad said with a smile. "You'll be leaving soon."

She grinned and rushed off to her bedroom.

Harry sighed as he walked behind his aunt and cousin. He wasn't sure why his aunt had brought him with them today, she wasn't getting him any new supplies after all. His uncle would just burn anything new he got. He started to step around a cloud of cigarette smoke as they passed an old man on a bench, but the wind blew it away from him altogether. He looked up and spotted one of the scantly clad Sylphs with the wings of a beetle waving at him. She winked flirty at him and then flew off. He mouthed a 'thank you' to her as she went, knowing she would hear on the wind. He was even happier as he saw the cloud blow right into his uncle's face. He felt so vindicated as his uncle choked and spluttered on it. He had gotten a beating a few months ago for puking from the effects of the smoke. Only now he knew this was because smoking was a vile thing to an Air child, or anything affiliated with the Elemental powers of Air.

Their trip to get supplies for Dudley done, the four of them entered an ice cream parlor they went too regularly. Harry had an… understanding with the owner. Florian would have some ice cream on the 'verge' of expiring. While Vernon Dursley hated Harry getting anything remotely nice, he also thought wastefulness was a crime punishable by death. So, Harry would get an ice cream from that 'nearly expired' stock. However, the Dursley's forbade him from sitting with them. He looked around for a place to sit. That was when his eyes fell on a girl just a little younger than he was and froze.

Years later, he would be asked what caught his eye about Ginny Weasley. He never was able to pinpoint one thing that snagged his attention. She had pale skin covered in freckles. Her hair was as red as fire. Speaking of fire, her eyes were brown, but the light danced in them like twin crackling flames. She was taking a bite of chocolate ice cream and closed her eyes in delight. As she opened them, her eyes landed on Harry, and she froze as well. It was if the world around them simply stopped as they stared at each other. No, that was not quite right. The world around them was a storm, and they were trapped in their very own eye, safe and calm. Yes, that felt right to him. He felt his lips morph into a smile even as she did as well.

Her voice, so sweet on the air, called out to him. "Want to come sit with me?"

A/N: And what a cliffhanger, as the ship is loaded and ready to leave the docks. I have been reading Jolene and this is how romance between mages meant to be together seems to happen. The magic points them to their heart's desire. They can only love that person, their entire lives. Its beautiful but possibly tragic as well. I cannot wait to get them interacting. Next month will also have more Marauder adventures as well. See you then. As always, consider checking out my other fics and original works. I have a daily, except Saturdays, series based in the Elder Scrolls universe I am doing a monthly original work as well.
