Chapter 47: Embrace Your Dreams

May 20

Ike saw Makato from the distance, facing away from Ike.

"Makato!" Ike called out to her. Makato turned her face to Ike with the same sad smile she presented to the mercenary. Tears fell passed her cheeks, down to her chin. Suddenly, where Ike was standing, it started to rain green headbands.

"What the?!" Ike stared up at the white sky.

"You broke my heart Ike. Even I don't think I could be friends with you."

"Wait, Makato. It wasn't like that-!"

"I rather date my ex boyfriend than to be friends with you. Goodbye." Darkness was about to consume Makato as she walked away from Ike. Ike ran after her but he was moving nowhere. Mikoru appeared beside Makato and made his evil laugh.

"Too bad, Ike. Looks like I win. Makato doesn't need a scum like you. She needs me." He pulled her waist close to his and kissed her. Ike growled, he was disgusted. How dare he do that to the princess! Ike pulled out his sword, ready to fight. Mikoru grabbed his sword from his back and lunged at Ike. "NOW DIE!"

Ike charged at him but noticed his sword was a banana! A delicious fruit that monkeys love to eat!

"Son of a-!"

He opened his eyes wide, sweating. Feeling the blankets and his feet. He moved his body just to make sure. The mercenary sighed in relief.

Just a dream. . .

Ike got up and check the time, it was only 5:40 A.M. He glanced at Miru who was sleeping soundly.

6:00 A.M.

It was a cold morning. The sun wasn't awake. Just not yet.

Ike decided to take a walk around the Smash Mansion, just for the heck of it. No. That's not his real reason. He didn't know what to do. He sat against the wall and kept his knees close into his body. He couldn't stop thinking about Makato.

"What should I do?"

Ike got out of his thoughts, hearing a hum.

". . .Deep breathing, focus on your breathing. . . and relax into the warmth of the sun. . ."

Ike turned to his left and sweat dropped. The aura Pokemon, doing yoga poses, talking to himself.

"Now, time for the Warrior pose!" He said.

"Lucario? So he's actually taking my advice for morning yogas. . ."

The blue Pokemon turned to Ike and continued his yoga. "Good morning, Ike. It's surprising to see you up this early."

Ike shrugged and stared at the ground. "It's not like me. . . Hey, Lucario. I kinda need your help- -but, it's not like I'm asking for help or anything!"

Lucario stood regularly and stared at Ike. "So do you want my help or not?"

Ike stared at his toes, wiggling them. "Let's say. . . you did something very stupid and he or she is very mad at you. And he or she, won't forgive you. What would you do?"

"Apologize of course!" He spoke as if he was talking about his problem right now. Which, Lucario doesn't know. He cleared his throat and continued. "I'll give a reason why I did those actions."

"What if that doesn't work?"

"Who are you talking about anyways?"

"Just answer my damn question."

"If that doesn't work, I'll keep on apologizing till I am forgiven. Or I'll apologize with a gift, something with meaning."

Ike laid his head on his legs and thought about it.

Mikoru's Hideout

A demonic bird cawed as it landed on Mikoru's shoulders, just when he was training his soldiers. A small piece of paper was tied onto the bird. Mikoru removed the piece of paper and opened it up. He smirked in amusement.

"Yes, what a spectacular map this is. From the surroundings, the rooms, to its roof top. In such a time. Perfect detail. Every single room is labeled. Including my Darling. I'm proud of you, Michelle."

"Mailord! I finished making the outfits with some help!" The stylist brought in a cart of black clothing. Hand made. Mikoru grabbed one and checked what it was. A black elegant cape that screamed 'Dark Magician!' There was a hood connected on it. In the front showed a purple glowing gem as a button to clip the cape as a long poncho. He flipped the back of the cape. A purple sword that went through the cursive initials of 'DK' for Dark Knights. Not Donkey Kong or Diddy Kong.

"My my. Impressive. Now make the pants and boots."

"Yes Mailord!" He hurried away with the cart.

Mikoru glanced at the map and stared at his soldiers. "Listen up!" Mikoru commanded. The soldiers look up to him, waiting for orders. "Everyone needs the memory of this map, including a copy. The map of the SSBB mansion. Do I make myself clear?"

"YES LORD MIKORU!"

"Once all of you got a copy, memorize it. And continue your training until breakfast."

"YES LORD MIKORU!"

Mikoru left the crowd and entered his rocky room. "11 more days left. . ."

Smash Mansion

9:00 A.M.

Everyone arrived at the dining table for breakfast. Peach and Kirby brought out the buffet for breakfast. The smell of bacon and eggs filled in the air while the glutton Smashers drooled.

"Yaay! Foood!" Pit cheered, flapping his wings.

"Finally! This is why I joined Brawl!" Snake cheered.

"I'm hungry!" Ness cheered.

"This looks like a very eggcellent meal! Right Whiskers De Pablo?" Roy petted his kitty that was sitting on his lap.

"Meow!" The kitty cheered wearing its sombrero. The food finally was placed on the table and everyone started to dig in. Marth was held responsible to take care of the dog and the duck. He grabbed a small plate, scooping some scramble eggs and two pieces of bacon for both of the animals. He sighed mentally. 'Well, I did bring him in. . . and the duck.'

"Here's your portion." Marth set the plate behind him.

The dog whined angrily.

"Quack!"

"Oh, you want more bacon?" Marth teased. Holding up another piece. The stray dog wagged its tail and the duck kept on quacking. Who knew the duck was a carnivore.

"Well, no! Haha!" He ate the bacon right in front of their faces and turned back to his breakfast.

The dog growled. Including the duck.

"You should be grateful that I let you in." The Prince of Altea said.

Ike couldn't help but to stare at Makato, who was sitting across from him, a couple seats away with her Aunt Michelle. Samus elbowed his arm, whispering, "Hey, Ike, Makato gave me the death glare. So I was wondering if everything went well between you two. She wouldn't talk to me."

After he glanced at Samus, he looked back at Makato, who was laughing when Michelle started juggling oranges like a professional. The dining room was always loud. Nobody could hear themselves. So it was okay for Ike to talk to Samus without anyone eavesdropping them.

"She saw us kissing. . ." Ike whispered back.

"What?! It, it was only practice for you and Makato. Did it look that like we loved each other?"

"To her eyes it did. . . I was planing to tell her that. . . And because of that, she hates me."

"Man it's all my fault." Samus heavily sighed. "I'll try talking to her sometime. . ."

After Breakfast

Ike followed Makato feets away, not knowing when to approach her.

'Ok, you can do this Ike. Just say you're sorry. Just like Lucario said. Keep on apologizing. Here it goes. . '

"Ma-"

"MAKATO-CHAN!" Marth ran up to her holding a box. Just when Makato turned around, Ike hid to the nearest wall. Close call.

"That damn Marth!" Ike muttered. He felt his heartbeat rapidly. Maybe when Marth is gone, he'd continued. But for now he decided to do something else in the meantime.

"Hello, Marth." Makato greeted.

Marth held up a box to Makato. "Can you help me make a dog house-"

"Quack!" The duck was offended.

"I mean-" Marth rolled his eyes. "Can you help me make a animal house-"

"Woof!" Now the dog was offended.

"Oh shut up!" Marth exclaimed at the dog. "Can you help me make a home for them?"

Makato stared at the animals. "Did you get them from the animal shelter?"

"Uh, not quite," Marth answered, "abandoned dog and duck left outside on the streets of Smashville. Don't ask."

"Sure."

Makato lead Marth into her room along with the animals. She closed the door and went over to her giant black pot. "Any particular size?"

Marth dropped the box down on the ground. "Hm. . . well there's a duck that was supposed to be my dinner. . . how about medium home? I don't know."

"Don't worry little animals, I'm going to build you a home." Makato petted the dog and the duck. They were happy from what she said.

"Woof!"

"Quack!"

Marth couldn't help but to smile. "They sound happy. That's cute. I never been abandoned before. I mean, of course who would want to abandon this beautiful face-?"

The dog jumped onto Makato's chest and she had to grab his body if he were to fall.

"Pervert dog!" Marth growled. The duck flew out of the box. He flew behind her to look under her pink dress. The duck made a perverted face while doing that.

"Quack! Quack!"

Marth rushed behind Makato and gave a hard elbowed to the duck. "Looking up Makato's skirt huh?!" He stopped flapping his wings, falling straight to the ground.

The dog started to lick Makato excitedly. Makato laughed trying to pull him away from her. "Easy there!"

Marth then grabbed the dog by its back furry skin, ending his perversion. "No wonder you guys were abandoned! You guys make me sick!" He hissed.

The dog did nothing but to growl at the prince.

"Well, let's get started shall we?" Makato said.

Marth and the animals sat on a chair with shades to watch the performance of Makato's potion making. Every ingredient would dissolve into the green liquid.

She added five giant logs, a bucket of nails, many buckets of paint, rocks, cotton, glass, metals, coal, oil, flammable potion, indestructible potion, ice potion, blankets, pillows, and stirred them all up till they it was just a liquid again.

"Oooh!" They all said in unision.

Makato then poured the liquid in a bottle, labeling, 'Dog House'.

"Ok! It's done. Let's see what it looks like."

The backyard that was more than just a backyard. . .

There was a perfect spot for the animals to live in on the grassy ground. "This looks like a good spot." Makato poured the potion and took a couple steps back.

Marth let go of the box and the duck and the dog let themselves out.

"The moment of truth. . ." Marth stared at the specific ground that was changing into many colors. 5 seconds later, poof! The house was created. A small, average, wooden house with a red roof, two windows and a door. The name of the house was labeled 'Duck Hunt'.

"Nice house, but 'Duck Hunt'?" Marth scratched his hair.

Makato shrugged. "I don't know. I thought it would be a pleasant name for the house."

"How's hunting for ducks pleasant? Well nevermind, it looks pretty small."

"Not quite actually."

The animals rushed inside their rooms, closing the door behind them.

Makato made a cheery face. "Let's go in!"

"We can go in?!"

"Yep! Just say, 'Dog Hunt'!"

"Dog. . .hunt?"

They were both warped to the same size as the brown dog. Marth began to freak out.

"Holy crap! We're small! Is that a bandage on the grass? I feel sick now. . ."

Makato held onto Marth's hand. "Come on, let's go in!" She ran toward the home, opening the door.

"Wait! I'm not mentally prepared yet!"

As they both entered in, Marth was amazed! It felt like they were their own human sizes in this house. This place was like a mansion! It was almost like a replica for the Smash Mansion. Expect the fewer rooms, no garages and no backyards. The dog and duck both made their animals calls with tears in their faces. They both ran up to Marth and Makato, bowing.

"You guys are both welcome." Makato smiled.

"Wow! This is awesome! Well done. I never expected this."

Makato laughed. "Expect the unexpected I guess."

"Wow! Cool house! Right, Whiskers De Pablo?" Roy looked around, following by Whiskers following behind him.

"Meow!"

The two royals were both surprised to see Roy. "Roy?! How did you?! When did you?!" Marth was shocked.

"Oh, I saw you guys in the backyard and I heard 'Dog Hunt'. Cool dog house yes indeed." Roy nodded his head. The three of them with the three animals explored the cool, giant, animal house. It was quite the adventure.

An announcement came up on the intercom. It was about the SSBB Field Trip to the mountains coming up on May 27 to May 30. The Smashers almost forgot about that fun trip. Hiking, exploring, fishing beside the streams of the river, hot springs, gift shops. Just FUN!

(-_-)

9:40 P.M.

Just when dinner was over. . . Most of the Smashers watched a movie on the big screen. Lots of talking, there was food and candy and drinks. It was pretty loud in the living room.

Ike's Room

The fear of a rejection swelled up in Ike's mind. He couldn't approached her. After seeing the sadness, hate, and jealously in her, he thought it would be best not to be near her. A stupid kiss to be practicing. . . Did he somehow enjoyed it? Ike shook his head and focused what he was planning to do. But an apology can't wait forever. It's better now than never. Makato probably couldn't care less if he said the two words 'I'm sorry', she would ignore him like he was Ganondorf or Bowser. Maybe a letter.

A letter might work! It's less harmful in a way for Ike though. A piece of paper and a pencil he just needed.

Miru walked in, stretching his arms as he laid down on his bed. "Fighting Snake was harder than I thought. What to expect from a pro. . . Well, I'm glad Makato's alright. She was crying yesterday but I don't know why. . . Doesn't matter. . ." Miru felt his eyelids closed on him as he fell asleep.

Ike couldn't think clearly now. Damn it Miru, just when he was about to write something. Oh, apologize. Just how Lucario told him to do. So Ike then wrote the two words with an explanation.

Anything to show how deeply the word 'sorry' meant, plus to show how he didn't mean it to happen between him and Samus, and to show how he didn't mean to make her so sad and devastated.

After Ike had finished his meaningful letter, he went to Kirby's room. Surprisingly he was there, watching a movie with people of his size. Frozen it was. That movie, never gets old. Snacks filled up the table with junk food and sweets. After Ike had ordered Kirby to deliver the letter to Makato, Kirby crossed his stubby arms.

"And why should I give this to Makato? Lazy bum. . ." Kirby muttered at the end.

Ike knew he shouldn't have relied on Kirby. "I'll buy you KFC."

Kirby wasn't the one to be fooled.

". . . Well why didn't you say so?!" He said with a jolly smile.

Kirby swiped the letter from his hands and skipped happily on the hallway.

Makato's Room

"Delivery! That would be 10 dollars!" Kirby cheered, panting. Makato grabbed the letter and thanked him. A letter from her mother perhaps? Her response to the letter that she sent her. When Makato read the name, her heart skipped a beat. Along with an ache that came with it.

Out of all people. . . why Ike?

Makato noticed Kirby still standing there, with his open palms. So he really did wanted money.

"How about a piece of candy?" Makato suggested.

"I don't want some crummy piece of can-" Kirby was interrupted by the sight of a giant lollipop, bigger than his head.

"Gimmie!" Kirby drooled. Makato smiled sweetly and handed him the lollipop. Kirby was rewarded with a tasty treat.

Makato waved him off and entered her room. She locked her room and sat on her bed. Slowly opening it, she read the letter.

Dear Makato,

I'm sorry. I know that's not enough but. . . I'm truly am sorry. But you what saw, there wasn't anything between us. I'm promise. So once again, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you so sad. I really do love you with all of my heart. Please believe me. Once again, I'm sorry.

Ike

Makato grabbed a piece of paper and a pen, writing a letter as well. After she finished she left her room and head for Ike's room.

Ike noticed a small piece of paper next to his door. He approached the paper and picked it up. It said on the front, From Makato. The moment of truth he waited for. Ike sat on his bed and opened the letter.

Ike,

Do you really expect me to believe that? I don't care if it was an accident or not, the fact that you kissed Samus while you embraced her made me so jealous. I was jealous. I didn't like it. I was so angry and heart-broken. Don't bother to send me more letters. I would throw them away.

From Makato.

Ike scrunched the letter and sighed in disappointment. Figured that she would be angry. He couldn't blame her. He too would be angry if he saw- -Marth and Makato kissing. This day, kinda felt like he had when Roy arrived to the SSBB Mansion. How Samus liked Roy so she broke up with him with a letter. And now. . . this.

Ike left his room to watch some movies with the Smashers in the living room.

(-_-)

In the middle of the night. . .

Makato didn't know where she was. Still in her pink polka dotted nightgown, she saw the sun rising in her view. A peaceful mountain area. It almost sounded like angels were singing.

"Where am I?" Makato stared at the sun then at the ground. Still feeling sad and lonely. "I don't know what to do anymore. . . I can't believe it. . . Why did Ike do such a thing? Just when I was about to say the one word. . ." Makato began to cry, trying to wipe the tears that ran away from her eyes.

"Makato. . ." A voice called out to her.

She stared up at the yellow-orange sky. "Is that you God?"

"Sorry, I'm not God. I'm just a human!" The male voice then laughed. Makato turned around seeing the male. She wiped her eyes for a more clear vision.

"Who are you?" She scanned him as he approached her. He had a handsome face, with one bang hovering over his right eye and spikes on the back on his head. Makato realized, his clothing did looked like Mr. Cocky's during the Mario and Sonic War. He sat on the grassy ground watching the sun rise. She noticed his blue eyes.

The male just smiled. "I know this girl. She said she was afraid of the sky. That looks so. . . liberating. Hey, don't you think the sky is so pretty? Especially in the mornings?"

Makato walked to him and sat right next to him, also watching the sun. "Yes, it sure is. . ." Makato didn't know why she felt so calm around him. His voice almost sounded like a motivational speaker.

After some silence, the young man then asked, "How about you apologize to Ike?"

How does he know? Makato turned to him, seeing the side of his face. "Me? Apologize to Ike? It's his fault!"

Still staring at the sky, he then answered with a smile on his face. "Well, I understand how you feel. I too would be angry if that were to happen to me. But, you can't keep that grudge forever. Sometimes, it's best to forgive and forget."

Almost what Mother would have said to her if she was here with her. Makato slightly blushed and pulled her knees to her body. "I can't forgive him. . . He kissed Samus."

"Have you listened to his side of the story?"

"Well. . . no." Makato frowned, feeling somewhat guilty.

"He probably has a reason for why he did that. . .

"Something bad is going to happen." The black, spikey hair man then said with a serious tone. "Be friends with Ike again, before it's too late."

"Something bad. . .? Before it's too late?" She thought about the Faithful Knights' disappearances and Mikoru. That was bad enough. . .

"How about a challenge? Your deadline is May 30th, just before your birthday. What kind of cake do you like?"

"A giant cinnamon roll with lots of frosting would go well for a birthday cake-. Wait, how do you know my birthday?" Makato said.

He laughed. "I just know. . . So anyways, your deadline is May 30th, before that day comes, you and Ike must make up. Do you think you can you do that?"

"We'll see. . ." Makato answered. "What's your name anyways?" She saw something on his cheek. "Is, that a scar?"

The guy placed his hand over his cheek. "Yea, it's a scar. But don't worry about me." He got up smiling at the sun. "Don't forget Makato. . ."

The young man stared down at her and with his biggest grin he said. . .

Makato woke up, staring at the ceiling. She laid her body sideways and thought about that phrase.

"'Embrace your dreams' he said. . ."
