Chapter 54: Presents
Smash Mansion
3:00 P.M.
The Suppliers entered the SSBB Mansion. . . carrying a shit ton of party stuff.
"Is it me or. . ." Ike stared at the living room.
"Is the Smash Mansion dirtier than before?" Pit finished his sentence. The key points that were seen in the mansion: Link was chasing Toon Link, the floor was covered in mud.
"Come back here, you!" Link raged, chasing the mini version of him.
"Haha! Catch me if you can!" Toon Link shouted across the mansion.
Pikachu was half dead. "P-Pika. . ."
Samus was arguing with Captain Falcon, the dining table was dirty, mud everywhere, broken plates, just disastrous.
Sonic crossed his arms, "I'm sure the Cooks are at least better. . ."
So the Suppliers went into the kitchen. Peach and Tifa were having a food fight. "Cloud is mine!" Peach yelled.
"No, he's not!" Tifa yelled back.
Marth and Miru were dead from who knows what. Lucina was standing in the kitchen with an innocent look, holding a plate of brownies.
Kirby was eating the party food, along with the duck and the dog, and Zelda was crossing her arms, looking bored as fuck.
"Um, where's Robin? What kind of manager is he?" Roy asked Zelda. The elf princess shrugged. "I don't know where he is."
Robin was going window shopping?
"Hmm, what kind of present would Makato like?" He thought, walking around a store. He then made an insane look, almost like Killer Richard. "Fools, as a chess strategist, it's better to get the stuff ahead of time! Muahahaha!"
_o
With some time standing into place, Ike heard the sounds of cleaning into his ears. "Oh, someone is cleaning. . ." He left the kitchen, wondering who was actually cleaning. He noticed the floors, all sparkling and clean. "Wow, there's no mud. . ."
The Suppliers followed as well.
"OMG! Sebas-chan?!" Roy squealed.
"No, it's Michelle. . ." Ike answered.
"Auntie Sebastian!"
The whole mansion was clean in a blink in a eye. Nobody found it possible. The Cleaners were dumbfounded. Link stopped chasing Toon Link and stared at his surroundings. "Whoa, I didn't even noticed. Since. . . when?"
Michelle approached the two groups with her hands covered over her sleeves. "Well, if I couldn't do this much for Makato, then what kind of Aunt would I be? Also, I had a feeling this would happen. Now that this place is clean, there will be time to prep everything, including the food."
"OOOOH!" Everyone gleamed in excitement.
Michelle walked into the kitchen and came back pushing Peach, Tifa, Lucina, and Kirby out. "I'll make the food, that is, those who want to cook. The Suppliers can set things up." Michelle pointed her finger up into the air, that was covered by her black gloves. "That is, the KEY TO SUCCESS!"
Everyone cheered and clapped, finding hope in their minds.
Smashville
Arcade
Ganondorf and Cloud were having their duel while Makato stood in the sidelines and watched.
"You're good, for a newb. . ," Ganondorf smirked.
Cloud sweat dropped, "Truth be told, . . .I never played Mario Kart 8 before."
"Huh?!" Ganondorf exclaimed. Both versing each other in a race car game, Makato watched.
'To end someone's life is by defeating them in a battle of Mario Kart. . .' Makato made a sour face, not really getting the statement. Staring at other arcade screens, she thought to herself, 'I wonder what Ike is doing?'
5:00 P.M.
With an hour and thirty minutes to spare, the Smashers rejoiced. Everyone was now in Free Mode. Most Smashers took their leave already to Smashville. Some still were rejoicing, wasting precious time.
"Woo! An hour to spare! Let's go!" Roy cheered.
"Yes, yes." Marth clasped his hands together.
"Presents. . . Makato. . . Sweets. . . Makato. . . Love. . . Makato. . . Pillsbury. . . Makato. . ." Ike's brain was busy thinking of the perfect present for Makato. Marth glanced at him and smiled. He walked over to him with a giant grin.
"Hey, Ike." Marth called out to the mercenary. Ike woke up and gave a blank stare at Marth. "What is it?"
"I've been meaning to ask you a question. Are you and Makato. . . dating? Is she your new waifu?" Flowers bloomed around Marth with his cheesy smile. Ike sweat dropped.
"So it may- -wait, how do you know?"
"Roy and I, last night, heard your conversation." The prince answered.
"You eavesdroppers. . ." Ike murmured.
"Glass cups are very efficient when eavesdropping! Yet, the author has never tried it herself!"
"I think you're getting off topic. . ." Ike said, ruffling his hair.
"Whoops, hehehe. Anyways, were you guys 'getting it on like Diddy Kong?'"
"What do you mean-?"
"You know? Birds and the bees?"
". . ."
"Mating?"
". . ."
"Impregnating. . .?"
". . ."
"Banana and donut?"
". . ."
"Meat and sweets?"
". . ."
"V-shape over tongue?"
"You sicko. . ."
"Well, tell me!"
"Marth, buddy, that may be on the top 3 things on my list, but we didn't do anything like that." Ike explained. "We ate cinnamon buns, covered with frosting."
"I see." Marth nodded his head. "This is like the first time you didn't do anything perverted. . ." Marth quietly said.
"Did you say something that may be a punch to the balls?"
"Certainly NOT!" Marth awkwardly laughed. "So, what kind of present are you thinking for your girlfriend?"
"You don't have to say girlfriend out loud. . ." Slightly embarrassed, Ike said. "Something memorable I guess. . ."
Marth called out to Miru and he walked over to the prince. "Miru, what kind of present did you give her?" Marth asked.
"Oh, a box for her potions, a decorative one!"
"Noice!"
"Let's not waste time!" Pit cheered.
"Yes!"
"Aye!"
"I'm going to buy her money!" Roy said.
"Buy money? Are you stupid or retarded?" Link said.
"Pretty much both, I bet." Ike smirked.
"Hey!"
Smashville in a clothing store. . .
Peach, Zelda, Tifa, Lucina, and Samus decided to shop altogether. All of them were near the lingerie section. Peach held out a pink, two piece swimsuit.
"A bikini?" Zelda asked Peach.
"What do you think?" She asked, "I mean, if it would look good on Makato, then it would look great on me!" Peach overlapped the bikini on her dress, imagining herself in the bikini.
Samus disagreed, shaking her head. "What kind of theory is that? Obviously, that won't work."
"Sammy, what do you mean?" Peach titled her head, confused.
"She has a bigger bust than you!"
Peach shriveled up into a raisin. "You're right. . ."
"Ooh! I found a cookbook!" Lucina held it out to the girls. Tifa smiled and looked around the shop. Zelda approached her, tapping her shoulder. "Feel free to buy her a gift as well, no need to be a stranger. I'm sure she will like what you give her."
"Thank you."
Cloud and Ganondorf actually had a real fight after their game of Mario Kart 8. Still in the arcade, Makato fell asleep on a table.
Mikoru's Hideout
"Oh, Lord Mikoru. He's so smart." Yumi gazed the side of his face. All of the Dark Knights were gathered around Mikoru. A giant map of both Niho and Smash Mansion were placed upon a big table. There was another meeting for their plan tonight.
"Group 1 will sneak in the blinds spots of the Smash Mansion destroying everything in sight. Group 2 will make a direct air attack on Niho using artificial winged-demon animals. Yumi will lead Group 2 and I, Mikoru, will lead Group 1, once Michelle summons Group 1 from the rooftop. Our objective is to destroy the Smash Mansion, to take over the Village of Niho, and to capture the princess. Once we are summoned, the battle will begin. 11:00 P.M. is the time where we start. I will contact Yumi once Michelle has summoned us." Other stuff were talked about as well about formation and the minor details.
Everyone was dismissed from the short meeting. Another one would be held soon, for memory. Yumi walked around the hideout, holding her Crescent Moon staff.
"Mikoru's plans, always so brilliant." She praised him out loud.
Two soldiers were walking by Yumi noticed her. "Hey, it's Yumi!" Dark Knight Mike said. He had blonde, wavy hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. Dark Knight Jacob was next to him. He had black hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. Both men were young adults.
"Hey, you're the girl who got their village destroyed by Lord Mikoru!" Mike said, pointing his buff finger at her.
"I do wonder, how can you even be here?" Jacob said quietly to Yumi.
"What do you mean?" She eyed Jacob. Jacob sighed and scratched his head.
"I mean, don't you hate him?" He then asked.
"Yea!" Mike nodded. "He burned your whole village to the ground! Your family and friends are dead!"
Yumi's eyes widened from that horrible memory. Mike continued, "And you still want to be with him?" A pale face was created on Yumi.
"I can tell that you still miss your people. If I were you, I would give up and run. Although, it's risky." Jacob said. Mike and Jacob continued to walk down the stone hallway. Yumi stood their and thought about her father and his miserable death.
"Father. . ." Yumi clenched onto her staff and continued walking in a slow pace. She forgot about her village and her father, until now. She thought, 'why do I serve him?'
Yumi reached her destination to her room. Closing the door behind, she laid against it. She bursted out her feelings that were locked away from her heart. 'My home, my father, all taken away from him! Why do I serve him?!'
"I should get my revenge. . . For Father." She darkly said to herself in a quiet manner.
"Revenge? And do what exactly?" Mikoru crossed his arms near her bed. Yumi quickly covered her mouth and looked away. Sweat started to form from her forehead, unable to speak. How did he even get here?!
"You're planning to betray me." Mikoru said with a cold voice. Yumi popped her head up at Mikoru and shook her head frantically.
"N-no!"
"You're saying this is all my fault, so you've decided to seek revenge. . ." Mikoru walked up to her and stared at her face. Yumi answered the with same answer. Mikoru roughly grabbed her cheeks with his hand and leaned in closer to her. "Yumi, I brought you here because I thought you would be useful to the Dark Knights. Now, you're talking about getting revenge on your dead daddy. If you do plan on betraying me, consider yourself dead. Do you understand?"
Yumi was in a verge of tears. "Y-yes. . ."
"Good girl. . ." Mikoru released her cheeks, now holding her arm. "Now, how shall I make you forget about your boring life?" Yumi didn't know how to react to his actions, nor words.
"I won't think of those thoughts again, Lord Mikoru. F-forgive me." Yumi's lips trembled. She thought maybe he was going to kill her. Break her arm, blind her. Something gruesome.
"I don't want you to think of those thoughts ever again." Mikoru smirked. He pulled her closer to his body and slipped his other hand around her waist.
Yumi felt like this was a dream. For the lord to touch her like that. "What. . . are you doing?" She dared asking.
"Don't say anything. Focus on me." He ordered. Yumi then blushed madly like ripe apple that was ready to be picked up from an apple tree.
She nodded slowly. Using his left hand, Mikoru placed his dark, glowing hand on her forehead, erasing her memories of her father and her village. Now being reborn into a orphan.
Mikoru finally finished his business with Yumi. A Dark Knight walked up to Mikoru. "Ah, Lord Mikoru. May I visit my family?" He asked.
"For the last time, no. Next time bring your whole family with you." Mikoru answered.
He frowned. "I'm afraid that's not possible. . ."
Mikoru stared at him for a moment and continued to talk. "Once this war is over, you may visit your family. Don't think about your family at this time. You're the crucial part to destroy the Smash Mansion. Remember that."
"I'm so sorry."
"Do not fail me, dragon boy. . ."
"Yes, Lord Mikoru."

Master Hand and Crazy Hand now decided to check the mail in the mail box. The mailbox was located outside of the Smash Mansion. When Crazy Hand opened it with the mail key, a giant load of mail poured out like a raging waterfall.
"LOOK AT ALL THOSE CHICKENS!" Crazy Hand exclaimed.
Master Hand grabbed a handful of mail and placed it in a cardboard box. "LET'S GET ORGANIZING!"
Smashville
Ike went to a jewelry store by himself, hoping for a good present there. The owner was an overweight, bald-headed man with a blue, sparkling tailcoat, who greeted the mercenary when he walked in. A few other people were there as well, looking at the antique jewerly, locked up in a shiny, glass case.
"Anything for a birthday gift?" Ike asked the owner.
"I'm guessing it's for a girl, am I wrong?"
Ike couldn't help but to grin. "How do you know?"
"You youngsters are so obvious." He answered. "Anyway, for a birthday gift, Sonny, how about the Forever Necklace?" The old man brought up a closed box and opened it to Ike.
"Ooh." Ike gazed upon the sparkly, sapphire necklace.
"Each crystal shard put into a heart shape, with pearls added. And the rarest of gems, all into this necklace. You know, there's actually a legend behind the Forever Necklace."
"A legend?" Ike stared at the necklace and gently grabbed it by its chain.
The owner nodded softly. "A young man makes a beautiful necklace, just like that," He pointed at the Forever Necklace as a reference, "for his wife. It took him two years to make that necklace. He wanted the necklace to be unique and perfect. Knowing that he's been diagnosed with cancer, he didn't have that much time. On his death bed, right next to his wife, he gave the necklace to her. He said, 'no matter how far I am, even in the afterlife, I will always be with you, forever'. Then he died. Ever since then, the wife would always wear that precious necklace of her late husband. Legend has it, whoever wears the necklace, would be bound with an everlasting love with their loved one, forever. Such a romantic and tragic story!"
Ike stood there, deep in his thoughts of that legend. Maybe it'll make a perfect present for Makato. "How much is it? I would like to buy it." Ike pulled out his wallet.
"990,000 dollars."
Ike cringed from the amount. "I don't have that kind of money. . . How about $700?" Ike sweat dropped.
The owner then laughed like Dr. Eggman, which freaked Ike out a little. "Hohohohohohoho! Broke like all teenagers, I see?! Kids these days. . ."
"Well, do you have anything under 700?"
The old man glanced around his shop and shook his head. "The lowest amount in this store, is a children's ring, decorated with lovely crystals, pearls, and gold. All for a low price of $5000."
". . ." Ike stuffed his wallet back inside his pocket. "Hahaha, I'll take my leave then. . . Thanks."
"Anytime, Sonny!"
While walking near the door, Ike stopped his footsteps, seeing a familiar teen walking past him.
"I would like to buy the Forever Necklace, please!" He said.
"Sonny! You made me a proud and happy man!" He smiled.
Ike sweat dropped with a questioned look. "What the? He used to call me Sonny. . ." Just to make sure he was seeing right, he waited till he turned around after his purchasing. He carried a lot of bags as well. He turned around with a smirk on his face.
"Eagle?"
Robin recognized Ike and panicked a little. "Mister Ike! H-hello!"
'What is he doing here?! He has a lot of stuff. . . Since when was he rich?!' Ike thought.
"So was not shopping for hours. . ." Robin smiled to cover his lying sins.
"Eagle, that necklace, are you going to give it to someone?" Ike asked. Robin stared at his newly bought item. "Sorry, I'm afraid I can't tell you, Ike." He answered. Robin passed by him, heading toward the door. "I'll be on my way now. I need to buy some wrapping paper and stuff." Ike turned around, seeing his body leaving the area of the jewelry shop.
'He's planning to give that to Makato. I can't imagine any other person. . . hmph. I'll just have to get a better present than that. . . that is. . . what can you by with $700?"
Cloud and Makato were at a movie theater. Many people were watching as well. . .
"Oh! Romeo! Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" Juliet cried.
While watching the movie, Cloud had noticed Makato's quiet presence. Become awfully silent wasn't really her, knowing little of her personalities. He shrugged it off, hoping it was the movie she was getting bored of.
"Cloud." Makato spoke, staring at the screen. He turned to her, waiting for her answer. "I really enjoy. . . this. I hope you're having a good time."
Cloud then remembered he was being toured, since he was SUPPOSEDLY new to Smashville. "Yea." He answered, bluntly.
"But, to tell you the truth," Makato continued, "I never been so bored in my whole entire life. Can we go back to the Smash Mansion?" No emotion in her words.
The blonde sweat dropped. Maybe, she somehow didn't enjoy Ganondorf's encounterment. Not to mention, their fiery battle of Mario Kart, and some actual brawling. . . for a long time. Going back to the Smash Mansion would mean failure to the whole SSBB Manor.
"I'm sure you'll have more fun over there." Makato said with a smile. She really wanted to end this.
". . ." Cloud couldn't think of anything to say. He then remembered the list. "We haven't finished the list yet."
"Half of the list doesn't even make any sense. Why continue the list?" Her face darkened. Cloud glanced at his phone to check the time.
5:01 P.M.
"It's 5:01?" Cloud questioned his phone, very confused. He shook his head in disbelief. That wasn't possible! But only an hour left so. . . still some time to spare.
Cloud put his phone away and turned to Makato. "Let's do one more thing."
Makato stared at him with no objections. "Alright."
Both leaving the theater, Cloud suggested on- -
He couldn't think of anything. Therefore, the sentence was cut off. Makato looked around the theater and glanced back at the blonde.
"Hey, how about we go to the arcade?" Cloud finally thought of something. Makato tilted her head.
"But didn't we-?"
"No. That guy, . . .Ganondorf?"
"Yes."
"Yea. He interrupted our time. Let's go back. If you don't mind."
Makato nodded. "I don't mind. Sorry on what I said earlier."
"Sorry, for what?" He asked.
"I thought I bored you. So I suggested we go back to the Smash Mansion."
Cloud shook his head. "No, no. You got it wrong. You were bored from me. I understand. Nobody doesn't want to see my face anyway."
"Why would you say that, Cloud?" Makato frowned.
"The dark thoughts inside my head said so."
"What?"
"Let's go to the arcade."
"Um, okay. . ."
5:50 P.M.
In a local grocery store.
Ike was near the cold food section, standing in place as if he lost the contest for a giant lottery.
'What, what choice do I have?! Eagle, acting like he has all of the money and the women! Damn him! Here am I, at the store, buying a can of Pillsbury cinnamon buns! Everything in the jewelry store was too expensive and I don't even have enough money to buy that Forever Necklace. What's even worse, Eagle bought it before me!' Ike calmed down for some time, before he lost his cool. He sighed heavily, still holding the can of Pillsbury cinnamon buns. There wasn't much time left decide on the perfect gift for Makato. A little puffball came to his way, also getting a can of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls.
Kirby glared at Ike, for he was holding the same thing. "Hey! Don't copy me, scum!" He lashed out at Ike. Ike shot a glare at Kirby, turning it into a glaring contest.
'He irritates me in every single blood-thirsty way! I wish he would just drop dead!' Ike released the can and set it back on the cold shelf. "Don't worry you pink fuck boy, I'm not going to copy you. Even if I did, that would make it the worst gift."
"What was that about a pink fuck boy?" Kirby growled.
"Nothing. Adios." Ike waved him off, walking away.
While heading toward the exit, the mercenary looked around the store once more. Passing by a young woman, he couldn't help but to sniff the smell of her scent. Then it hit him.
"Perfume. . . Not a bad gift at all! It's like the ultimate deodorant! Okay! Perfume it is!"
"Um, are you talking to yourself?" The scented young woman asked. Ike turned to her and shook his head. "It's just your imagination."
Buying a box of perfume, Ike went to a local store to buy a happy birthday card. Now at Smash Bucks, outside of the cafe, he sat there, thinking what to write after the word, 'Happy Birthday'.
"Hmm. . ."
"Ike!" A cheery voice called him out. "Found you~!"
"Marth. . ."
Roy was also with Marth, both of them were holding bags that looked like gifts. Both sitting with Ike, Marth showed the bag to Ike. "I'm giving Makato-chan a Bath and Body Works kit! Comes with everything, like lotion, soap, perfume, body wash. . . etc."
". . ."
"Why give her a perfume bottle, when you can give her a whole set of items! Am I right? Hahaha!"
Marth didn't even know that Ike bought perfume for Makato as a gift.
"Well, fuck." Secretly holding the bottle, Ike threw the perfume without letting Roy and Marth noticing. Only hearing a devastating crashing noise, Marth stopped laughing.
"So, what are you going to give to Makato-chan?" The prince asked. Ike stared at the card right in front of him. Roy leaned in to what Ike was staring and titled his head in confusion. "A card? Lame, bro."
"No, no." Marth disagreed. "It's looks like a poem."
"But it only says 'Happy Birthday'."
"That's probably a poem!" Marth turned to Ike and smiled. "So, Ike, by memorable, you mean a poem? Interesting! I can help!"
Roy glanced at a nearby clock and almost choked. "Guys! There's no time! It's 6:31!"
"WHAT?! WE'RE LATE!" Marth and Ike exclaimed. "Not to mention, we must arrive early!" Marth said. "Let's go!" The three of them started sprinting back to the Smash Mansion, while running back, Marth hold up a conversation with Ike about the poem.
"There's still time to finish the poem!"
"What are you saying?"
"During the party, we can work on the poem."
Ike slowed down his running speed. "Marth,"
"No need to thank me!"
"No, Marth, I don't need your help."
"What?!" Marth then completely stopped running. "You're useless without me!"
"Huh?!" Ike glared at Marth, stopping as well. Roy did the same, listening to their conversation.
"I mean. . . don't you need some help?" Marth awkwardly laughed.
"No. A gift should come from the heart, right? Even when you're broke. So, I'll use my heart and my feelings inside. Don't take this the wrong way. I appreciate you wanting to help me. . ."
"Oh, I get it. I'm sure your gift will be wonderful!" Marth cried tears of joy.
"Let's keep walking." Roy said, walking ahead. The two nodded and continued their footsteps.
"Makato is going to love your gift." Marth then said to Ike. Still facing forward, Ike slowly nodded. "I know, Marth. I know."
Smash Mansion
Everyone was back at the Smash Mansion. Everything was prepared and ready for the big surprise! Smashers and guest stood near the door, waiting for the two specific people to walk in.
However, this took awfully long. Something was not right.
"The birthday girl isn't here." Zelda said "Surprisingly late."
"Maybe it's traffic."
"I hope they're okay."
"Mmhm."
"Can't wait to eat some cake!"
Arcade
"I win!" Makato cheered, gleaming at the screen.
"Who knew you were so good at Street Fighter?" Cloud said.
"Well, if it weren't for Roy." Makato smiled. Cloud glanced at his phone once more and was shocked to see the time. "5:02? Impossible. . ." Hoping for a better clock he looked around the arcade. Seeing the giant clock on a wall it read '7:00'.
Bruh.
'I had the wrong time?!' Cloud sank down in depression once more, crouching like a ball. His phone vibrated very loudly, which woke Cloud up from his depression. Opening his flip phone, it read, 'Tifa'.
"Hello-?"
"CLOUD! WHERE ARE YOU! YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO GET BACK TO THE SMASH MANSION BY 6:30! YOU BETTER NOT BE IN A LOVE HOTEL WITH MA-" Cloud immediately hung up his phone and got up from his position.
'Of course she would be mad.' He turned to Makato who was distracted by Street Fighter.
"Let's head back."
"Ok!"
A/N: Thanks for reading, mates! :P Till next time!
