Chapter 57: Belated End

Makato blushed from her last minute thought and shouted it.

"He's the carrier of my child!"

Mikoru's sword was at the tip to skewer Ike's neck. He stopped his oncoming death he long wished for to happen. Mikoru stopped from Makato's answer. Ike gazed down at the poisonous liquid that dripped just by the root of two from his neck. Ike was spared. A close call to say. Ike glanced at Mikoru and noticed his expression. A new one he never seened before. There was a long period of silence. Ike didn't even dare to move his sword. The rain occupied their silence for such an intense moment. What was the evil lord's next move?

A sudden release of a sword as it splashed to the ground. Mikoru's sword. It echoed very loudly that everyone had to stared at his heavy sword. Mikoru stepped away from Ike with baby steps. Slowly, yet steady. He cocked his head toward Makato's eyes. Makato noticed his expression on his face and was shocked. Question marks were dying to be answered as Mikoru let out one simple word.

"What?"

"Huh? What?" It seemed that Mikoru wasn't the only one. Marth was dumbfounded as well.

"Carrier?! Am I going blind?!"Roy blinked a couple times to see if his vision was corrupting his hearing. I don't know if that even made any sense in human nature.

"Child?" Meta Knight almost dropped his sword..

Captain Falcon just laughed. "Hahaha! Well, I'll be damned!"

Michelle was shocked to hear as well. "What?"

Miru wanted to shoot himself, if he could. To think your close childhood friend all right next to you happened to be. . .! Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong eye's widened. King Dedede the same. Everyone stared at the princess. Even the snake, Fred. Makato lowered her head, silent and frozen. If she were to look up, everyone would noticed her bright, red face, even in the dark night.

'I didn't think that would work! My goodness! I'm going to die of embarrassment! Anytime now. . . Someone, please kill me. . .'

"Makato Dear," A sudden voice spoke to Makato, making her suicidal thoughts disappear. Mikoru crunched his legs like a ball, sitting on the wet ground, right in front of Makato. "Tell me, what you're saying isn't true." His face was in denial. Not just his face, but his whole body expression was in denial. Shaky hands, twitchy eyes, shaky legs, twiddling feet. It creeped Makato out, however she had to stay calm. For she wanted to die as bad as he did!

"It is true. . ." Softly, Makato replied.

"That can't be! You're sensitive to that kind of stuff!" Mikoru raised his voice.

"We. . . actually did it. . ." Makato looked up to him and attempted a shy smirked. It was even so rare for the potion princess to do such a tomboy expression! Mikoru wanted to melt and die. "No. . ."

"Ike is the father of my. . . son." Makato confidently said. "I'm naming him John."

Mikoru got back to his feet and shook his head viciously. "Noo! You can't have a child before marriage! You can't name him John! I was planning for his name to be Edward! Nooo! You can't have a child-!" Mikoru began to break down like a tower that was slowly decaying. Michelle was very shocked from his childish behavior ever since she joined the Dark Knights. Some of the Dark Knights were amused from his of-out-character-ness. Mikoru's eye were spinning. Was this actually the cause of Mikoru's sudden downfall?

Mikoru tried to obtain his pride. "Heh. Haha. Ahahahaha! Heh! Hahahaha! He- -must! Haha! Ike-! I feel sick. . ." Mikoru felt his vision getting blurry. He tried turning around to his opponent, but his body was swaying so much to keep up with his stability. Flustered with a mental breakdown.

"GREAT PUNCH AETHER!" Ike made a kid-who-was-bullied-in-the-past-but-now-can-fuck-you-up punch straight at Mikoru's jaw. The evil lord was sent flying like a frisbee, skidding on his body after his crash.

Marth was shocked to see Ike moving again. "Ike, he can move!" Marth got up, which was his first reaction. "So can I! It's a miracle!"

"I'm movable!" Roy danced swaying his hips.

"Oh yea!" Captain Falcon raised his fist in the air.

Meta Knight swung his sword a couple times. Feeling the 'muscles' of his body. "How is this possible?" The Dark Knights were in a slight panic. Whether they should come for their Master's aid or stop the enemies in front of them.

"What do we do?!"

"I don't know!"

"Ahh! Lord Mikoru was hit by a peasant!"

Ike loosened his fist and faced Makato. He walked up to her slowly. Fred started to panic. "Hey! Stay back! Ya hear?! You're dealing with the Almighty Fred!" Ike reached his destination to Makato and stared at the snake. "Oh, this thing can talk. . ." So, it wasn't a reptile in Ike's world. The ruthless mercenary grabbed its neck and pulled it up to his face. Fred struggled to break free. "Release me!" It was very strange, Fred's body was longer than an average snake.

"Release her, or I'll skin you alive."

". . ."

"One. . . two. . ."

Fred didn't wanted him to count to three. "ANYTHING, BUT THREE! GAHH!"

As quickly as possible, Fred untangled himself and slithered some feet away from them. Makato used her eyes to stare at Fred, and then back to Ike. Makato wanted to hug him so badly, but her body was still paralyzed. Ike kneeled down to her position and did the hugging for her. It was such a long time when she ever felt this warm. She closed her eyes and relaxed in his embrace.

"Makato," Ike started, "I don't know what you just said, but thank you."

Makato's face heated up when he mentioned that. "I'm just glad I was able to do something. . ." Her voice croaked. She was in the verge of tears. Ike softly smiled. He lifted his head to see her face once more. Makato opened her eyes half way to see his face as well.

"Don't be afraid to cry. The rain is the perfect camouflage to hide tears such as yours." Ike rubbed the back of her head and embraced her once more. Even more to close, so not even the rain can get between them..

"Ike. . . Thank you."

Mikoru's face ached as he opened his eyes, still on the wet ground. "Curse you, Ike. . ." Mikoru noticed the punch Ike gave him earlier. Ike was able to move his body. "If he's moving, then. . . My dragon pawn. . . Someone stronger than him, defeated him!"

And it was a fact. The dragon boy was knocked out from the little pink puffball. The Five Warriors cheered. "Oh YEA, KIRBY!"

Kirby made his signature dance every time he reached to the moon and stars.

"Datte-poyo!"

Mikoru got up completely and the Dark Knights gathered around him as fast as possible. "Lord Mikoru are you okay?!"

"Do you need sexual aid?!"

"Do you need insurance to cover up your medicare?!"

Mikoru placed his hand on his bruise. He made his hand glowed a light purple, making the bruise disappear. "Nothing but a scratch. This battle is just the beginning."

"Aww. . ." A soldier sighed.

"Once we are done, can we go out for some Niho BBQ?" A Dark Knight soldier asked.

Mikoru stared at the soldier and shrugged. "Sure, why not. . ."

"Yea! Now I'm feeling motivated!" The Dark Knights rejoiced in their future reward. Ike head toward Mikoru and smirked. "Oh, are you done putting ointment on your wound?"

"Don't you mock me!" Mikoru used dark magic to take hold of his sword once more. "I shall not be defeated!"

Village of Niho

Where the other war was being takened place, Haru and Flora grew exhausted. Not only them, but Yumi, Mike, and Jacob. This so far was an even battle.

"Brother, I can't keep up with her. . . " Flora spoke to Haru with a stressed look. Haru standing right next to her, made heavy, frustrated breaths from all the attacking he had been doing in the past hours.

"This battle has become very even. It's not the girl you're currently fighting, but the two boys. . ." Haru was reaching to the conclusion of his own personal thoughts. "They're not just normal wizards. But Tachibanas."

Flora eyed her brother intensely. "Tachibanas? What kind of conclusion is that?!" Flora wanted to slap the back of his head.

Haru stood up straight, still facing his enemies. "Hey, you two." Haru only directed his finger at Jacob and Mike. Yumi cocked her head and relaxed her staff in her hands. "You don't happen to have a last name that goes by Tachibana?"

Mike made the biggest grin yet so far.

"So it seems you have noticed our rare powers. . ." Jacob smirked under his breath. It was pretty rare for him to make such an expression like so. Yumi was surprised. They never told her that they were part of that seeking and needing generation.

"Since when. . .?" Yumi eyed Mike.

"Forgive me, Milady. We didn't mean to keep it a secret." Mike spoke to her.

"Bullshit." Yumi arched her eyebrows into a V shape. Mike broke a sweat and laughed. "Ok, ok. So we did keep it a secret. . . So what?!" He confessed.

Haru sighed and spoke in a low voice to his younger sister. "This battle will be tough. . . with their dark magic they enable unto themselves. . . I say we don't stand a chance against them. . ."

"I don't want to hear those words from your mouth, Brother. . ." Flora answered angrily. The angry blonde stared at Mike and Jacob. "You both have our blood then?"

"Yes. Both Jacob and I are cousins. . ." Mike answered with pride. "I have the power of wind magic."

"My magic is poison type." Jacob said, releasing some posion bubbles around him to proof his power. "We've kept our powers a secret from Lord Mikoru, so we can join the Dark Knights. . ."

Mike tilted his head with a smirk. "I guess we don't have to keep it a secret to you guys. We'll go all out, now that you know our powers. . ." Mike turned to Jacob and motioned him to come forward. Mike turned to Lady Yumi. "Milady, would you mind standing back, this won't take long."

Yet confused, she did as told and walked back a couple of steps. Haru and Flora stood in a fighting stance at the time when they saw Mike and Jacob with their hands both touching each other's.

Flora stared at what they were about to do. Her sweat dropped. "Haru, remember, one of them uses poison and the other uses wind. They're planning some type of poison gas! I can only assume!"

"Well, shit." Haru clenched his teeth. "I'll try using my FIRE! Say lalalalala, Flora!" Haru reached his hand in the air, but then was suddenly stopped by his sister. "That could be the worst mistakes of your boring life. I believe your fire would only make it worse, just like your singing." Flora turned to her parents. "Father, Mother, get to safety, quickly!"

"We can't leave you guys here, dummy." Utora responded in a childish manner.

"Father, this is serious business! Their planning to trap us in a gas chamber!" Haru exclaimed.

"I'm afraid none of you guys will be escaping!" Mike interrupted. Both Mike and Jacob lifted their hands to the ceiling and their magic was formed together like peanut butter and jelly. Poison gas was created to where the royal family stood. It didn't affect the other half of the air where Yumi was. As the poison air came closer to the Tachibanas, Utora jumped right in front of his family and created a barrier, just before the air could reached their noses. Utora had his arms toward the surface of the barrier as the glowing, blue barrier was made.

"Father!" Haru exclaimed. It seemed that Utora was trying to hold the barrier for as long as possible.

"King of Niho, your barrier won't last long. . . We are Tachibanas as well!" Mike smirked. He added rough winds to their side without circulating the poison air. Utora only stood in place while the wind made the barrier even more weaker and weaker and weaker.

"Tachibanas do not use their magic for evil!" Flora shouted at them angrily.

"It's your magic. I don't see what's the problem." Mike shrugged. Rosalinda couldn't help but to frown at the current situation that her children are in. She spoke to them behind. "Haru, Flora, one of us needs to get away. We all can't die here. . ."

The children quickly turned to their mother. "Mother, what are you saying?" Haru was confused.

"I want you two to escape." Rosalinda quietly said.

"No! We can't leave you two behind!" Haru exclaimed, rejecting her proposal. "Even if we did escape, how are we supposed to avoid this nasty air?!" Utora turned his head to his eldest son. Making a smile that showed him flipping the bird. "Do I look like a freaking senior citizen to you?! Have some faith in your mother. She's a Tachibana as well."

Rosalinda nodded her head. "He's right, we're not that old. . . Also, I want you two to find my daughter. Do it for the people of Niho." The Queen turned her head to Flora. "I'll create a healing barrier to protect you both from the gas. Once I do, you must flee this place." She made her hands create a radiant light that only shined so dimmed. "That's an order from the Queen. Prepare yourselves. . ."

Haru and Flora frowned, for it may be the last time they'll be seeing their parents. The light on her hands grew brighter and more beautiful by the second, blinding Mike and Jacob.

"Ugh! I can't see!" Mike complained, putting his hand over his face.

"I'm sensing the two siblings had escape!" Jacob exclaimed. Yumi shook her head. "No worries, we just need the King and Queen. Not the small fry."

The light faded away from the Queen and she released her hands to the sides of her dress once more. Utora struggled to keep the barrier as well as possible. "Rosalinda, there power is too strong for this barrier. I don't think I can hold it much longer."

"You've done well, Dear." Rosalinda placed her hand on his shoulder to comfort him. "Rest assure, and leave the rest to our children."

Throughout this long night, Mikoru received a message in a telegraphic way from the Dark Knights. "Lord Mikoru, Niho has been conquered."

Mikoru smirked to hear the wonderful news. His first reaction was laughter. He laughed so hard, Ike thought he was going insane, and Yumi, who made the call, told Mikoru of her ears being damaged by his laughter. Mikoru quietly calmed down and nodded to the invisible phone. "I'll be there shortly."

The rain seemed to stopped as Ike stared at the now dark, indigo sky. He put his focus back to Mikoru, would did made any more movements after that. . . 'call'.

"Looks like my job here. . . is done." Mikoru sheathed his sword away.

"What are you talking about?" Ike didn't believe the words that came from his mouth.

"Niho was my main objective rather than this place. But, I don't want to leave without giving this place a gift." Mikoru turned to Michelle from the far distance and signal her to come.

Michelle responded back by nodded. "We'll meet again, my son." She quietly said to Miru. Miru eye's widened in a shocked manner. Even after all the disbelief about Michelle being a relative toward Makato, Miru wasn't able to deny the fact that she called him her son. The Dark Knights and the Smashers that were on the roof tops watched Michelle and Mikoru flying above the ground level. It seemed they were leaving this place for good. Marth made this time to run up to Ike, along with the other Smashers.

"Ike, what's going on?" Marth kept staring at the two people above.

"They conquered Makato's hometown already." Ike spoke in a voice for Makato not to hear. Roy gasped the loudest. "You're kidding?!"

"So that was his main objective. . ." Meta Knight said.

Fred the Snake stared up at the sky, noticing one mistake the lord himself made. "Lord Mikoru! You forgot us!"

And so Mikoru realized, "So be this dense! Here I almost dropped it." Mikoru turned to Michelle. "Get Makato for me."

"Don't worry, Milord!" Using her disgusting, demonic hand, from such a far distance, she was able to grab the potion princess, who was still paralyzed. The Smashers cried out her name as she went up to where the Mikoru and Michelle were. Fred hung alongside Makato's shoulder, watching the crowd from above.

"Alright, let's rock and roll!" Fred exclaimed. Mikoru created a small item that was glowing purple. Yet the figure looked awfully similar to a cartoonish time bomb. The Dark Knights were confused on the roof, chattering amongst themselves.

"Makato!" Roy cried out again. The redhead turned to Meta Knight and King Dedede, "You guys can fly! Do something!"

The mercenary agreed with Roy. "Yea, do something." Ike said impatiently, staring right at their throats. Meta Knight glanced at King Dedede who refused. "It seems we are out numbered. Two against one would not work." Meta Knight said.

Ike glared at King Dedede, dropping his sword to crack his buff knuckles. "Don't make me kill you."

"Hold up! Hold up! Does it look like I want to die from Mikoru?!" King Dedede spat out. Ike didn't say anything for a while, letting his breathing occupy his time, "Your honorable sacrifice will not be in vain."

"'Honorable sacrifice', my ass!"

"Hey, look up there!" Marth pointed to the purple object that Mikoru had a while ago. Miru stared at the falling thing intensely. "It looks like a ball. . .?"

"More like a bomb." Donkey Kong corrected him.

"Wait, what?" Ike stared up at this, so called 'bomb' Donkey Kong claimed.

"I think there's some kind of writing on it," Marth picked up a random piece of binoculars from the ground and used them.

"Is it some kind of secret message?" Roy was getting excited from the thought of it.

"It says, 'If you're reading this, it's too late-'"

KA-BOOM agreed that it was too late.

And it was too late.

Makato thought she went deaf from the devastating and roaring sound the purple object made when it hitted the roof of the mansion. The whole mansion was covered in a hot and firefly blanket that melted the building. Makato's eyes created a terrific expression. As if she was watching the a documentary film of a war that included bombs. Deadly killing bombs.

They watched the Smash Mansion burn. Even the soldiers that were in there, burned. . .

"When I met destroy the mansion, I should have done so earlier." Mikoru laughed. "Next, we shall head to the Village of Niho."

Makato's vision became more blurry as she watched the Smash Mansion burn in the toxic, fiery gas. And it was the last time she ever screamed out their names that echoed very loudly in the silent night.
