Chapter 60: Boisterous Brother

The walk to the dragon's cave felt very, very long for Ike. It was already half till midnight and they were still walking! Maybe it was because of Haruhi's annoying chats about his adventure in his magic and fighting experience. Everyone was so fixated on him. But Ike.

Ike's POV

The trip to the dragon's cave was amazingly long and boring. Maybe I was the only one who was bored from this. I was behind the crowd while Haruhi was in the front of the walk. Makato's brother. . . Still fishy about that. And because of him, this was why time was wasted. You see, I knew the route to the cave, but Haru suggested a different route all of a sudden.

Flashback

We made it to the intersection of the forest and there was two paths. The left side lead to somewhere, but some of us new that the right path was the right side. Haru raised his hand high in the air so that everyone that took part of his group would be able to see.

"As leader, we'll go by my rules!" Haru said.

Since when?

"So therefore, the right way to the cave will be. . . left!" Haru pointed to the left side of the forest path. I had to stop him before he made the biggest mistake of his life.

"Hey! The cave is to the right!" I yelled. Haru gave me this unimpressed look and scoffed. "I know the fastest route!" He claimed so. "So you shut up, and watch!"

I swear, he gets on my nerves! Luckily, Pit was there to back me up. "Um, Haru you never even been to the cave before. So. . ."

Haru grinned at the angel. "I'm a fire wizard! I can sense the fire!"

"OOOOH~!" Everyone said. And so we were all forced to follow Haru and to the path of the left side. I don't know what was going to happen to us.

Hours Later. . .

We would be taking these unnecessary breaks! Who got the time for that?! Plus, why do I get the feeling that we're lost? This is why I don't trust strangers.

End of Flashback

Normal POV

7:30 P.M.

The sun was setting and it became harder to see in the forest. Haru stopped the crowd and turned to his loyal followers. "It's getting dark, let's take a break."

The Smashers were confused about their surroundings just right after. "Um, won't your sister get mad?" Ness asked.

"Nonsense!" He laughed. Haru wasn't sure with himself if he was lying or not.

'This is like our 100th break. . . Makato, forgive us.' Ike sighed loudly. Haru made a campfire within seconds and everyone gathered around the only flame for warmth. "Ok group! Let's hunt for dinner! This campfire will be our checkpoint." Ike waited till most of the Smashers left and till Haru was by himself. Luckily he didn't leave the campfire yet, only just to adjust his blades.

"Hey!" Ike called out to Haru. Haru turned his head toward Ike. "Do you even know what you're saying?"

Haru stared at him, waiting for him to make some sense. Ike walked up to him.

"We're in a crisis! We need to get the dragon scale to create the potion! And you want to take breaks?! We've done that many times already!"

"I get what you're saying, but it's important to take breaks. Makato is a strong girl, I'm sure she'll-"

"Bullshit."

"Excuse me?"

"You claim to know Makato, but are you really her brother?! Stop talking like you know her! I never heard Makato, not even once, mentioned about her two siblings."

Haru wasn't able to say anything and let out a somewhat sigh that felt sad. "So, you want to know our relationship between Makato? Fine." Haru sounded serious. "I'll give you what you want, but only if you follow my orders. Got it? And once we get the dragon scale, I'll give you everything you would probably want to know." Haru then smirked and patted his shoulder roughly.

"Hey! I wants to know!" Roy came out of nowhere holding a dead rabbit in his hands that had a bloody hole in the stomach and the neck. Was Roy secretly a sadist?

"Sure!" Haru said, trying not to make the conversation go down hill. "So, is that a deal, Ike?" Haru faced Ike once more.

Ike had to turn away. "Whatever."

Haru grinned and patted his shoulder again. "I could go for a nice pan seared rabbit. . . Roy, can you cook?"

Roy glanced at the brown rabbit and looked back at Haru. "Uh, I can make cereal?"

"Dude! You're basically an executive chef!"

(oOoOoOo)

Next day, they continued their trail. . .

June 2nd

11:00 A.M.

"And~! We're here~!" Roy stretched his arms from the long and tiring journey. So did the other Smashers that followed Haru. The cave was in distance from the party, and they did not made another step.

Haru took a step toward the cave. He was very curious. "So, this is the cave? Where we need a Fire Dragon Scale. So how many scales do we need?"

"I'm not sure." Ike answered.

"Might as well take the whole dragon."

Some of the Smashers laughed from what Haru said, however Haru didn't seem to be joking.

"Or, we can just pluck every single scale from the dragon till it scaled." Haru began to move his feet and legs to the cave, while everyone watched. "This won't take long, I'll be back."

"Wait!" Ike cupped his shoulder that kept Haru from moving any further. "You're going to fight that dragon by your lonely ass self?! Just how arrogant are you?!"

Haru smirked at the mercenary. "Puh-lease, this is child's play!" Haru swiped Ike's hand away from his shoulder and kept on walking. "You can watch if you like~!" Ike just heard his annoying laughter right after that.

"Why that-! You think I'm here just to watch you get all the credit?! I'm coming too!" Ike decided to follow Haru into the cave. As well as Roy.

"Hey, wait for me!" The redhead came right behind Ike with sparkling blue eyes. "I must see my brother-in-law fight!"

"Brother-in-law. . .?" Ike gave a weird look to Roy. Roy caught Ike's eyes and nodded. "Well, yea! Once I marry off her sis-"

Ike slapped him behind the head. "Since when were you going to be Makato's husband?"

Roy rolled his eyes. "I'm talking about his other sister! The blonde one! If not, I'll go for Makato. Ah, so many choices." Roy grinned to himself. "By the way, Ike. I feel like I'm missing something very important, but I can't remember. . ."

"Not my problem. . ." Ike didn't want to continue this conversation with Roy, or he might just kill him off.

(oOoOoOo)

The two swordsmen entered the cave and right then, they heard battle cries and roaring. They decided to quicken up their pace to find Haru and the dragon.

"HAAA! Be gone, fiend!"

The two of them finally spotted Haru fighting off the dragon. The same fire dragon from before.

"He's like a jumping jelly bean. . ." Ike said, watching the cloaked figure.

"Go! Fiery Hot Cheeto!" Roy cheered.

What felt like forever, Haru landed back on the ground safely when he spotted Ike first then Roy. He blew a little kiss and continued to fight the dragon. Ike wanted to puke.

"I am. . . disgusted." Ike murmured, turning his head away from the battle.

"DIE!" The dragon cried out opening his titan mouth. From Roy's point of view, it looked like he was about to get eaten within seconds. But it backfired when Haru quickly regurgitated smoking, hot flames from his mouth. The flames were too hot for the fire dragon and was knocked out, once again. Haru landed on the ground and dusted his cape from access dust.

"Whoa! He just spewed out fire! Is he E.N.D?!" Roy shook Ike's shoulder from his excitement. Ike shrugged. "I doubt it."

They continued to watch Haru like fangirls. Roy was more of the fangirl than the hater, Ike. Haru showed his imaginative audience the Fire Dragon Scale and a thumbs up with a cool head turn, showing his mischievous smirk. "Whatever infires!"

"Whoa! That! Was! Awesome!" Roy praised him from his fine arts of fighting.

Haru adjusted his twin blades. "I call it the Fire Omi Slash."

"So original!"

"I'll say. . ." Ike, muttered, rolling his eyes.

"Say," Haru faced his eyes toward Ike. "Aren't you going to praise me?!" He asked with a lazy grin.

"Shut up."

Haru laughed and skipped back to the dragon. "Let's get a lot of scales just in case!" He took his time plucking out a nice red hot scale. Roy and Ike followed to help the guy. Once they collected what seem was enough, they left the cave, leaving the fire dragon, half naked.

(oOoOoOo)

"Oh! They're back!" Pit pointed to the three figures that left the cave.

"We got the treasure!" Roy cheered.

"Awesome!" Lucas cheered.

"It was super easy!" Haru had a long pointy nose that kept on growing.

"No wonder it took such a short amount of time!" Mario was impressed and amazed.

The group destination was now back to the Smash Mansion. . . Or at least the Smash Mansion that used to be there.

1:00 P.M.

"So, tell me. . ." Ike was literally behind his tail.

"Huh?"

"You promised."

Haru stopped while the other Smashers made their way. "Oh, yea! Ok! I totally forgot. . . Wait a second." Haru then called out to his team. "You guys go on ahead! I need some quality time with Ike~!"

"Why did you say it like we're a couple?" Ike furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance.

"So you want us to be a couple?" Haru grinned.

"That's not what I meant!"

"I only said that so they wouldn't bother us! Jeez! You need some butter!"

". . ."

Time passed. Almost 10 minutes and Haru didn't say a word, which kinda made Ike a little uneasy.

"Well, aren't you going to speak?" Ike said crossing his arms.

"I was just making sure they're aren't in the presence." Haru replied as he sat on a nearby log. Ike followed and sat a few inches away from him. Haru pouted and scooted closer to him, so that there wasn't a gap between them.

"I like personal space." Ike eyed him.

"I like getting into your space." Haru smiled.

"Whatever. . ."

"I'm just kidding." Haru reposition to his regular spot and leaned forward, putting his elbows on his knees to support his chin.

"Well, the truth about Makato and I. . ." Haru started off in a low key soft voice, which made Ike by force, scoot in a little closer to Haru.

"We're siblings." Haru answered with little pride. "However, I've only seen her when she was. . . four. . . So hearing her name makes me so excited, I want to see her grow up into a beautiful woman."

"So, you never seen her all this time. . .?" Ike was basically shocked. "Damn, that's more than a decade. . ."

"I know." Haru made a unconfident laugh. "There's a story behind all of that.

"My sister, Flora, and I were raised by our father in a small cute village other than Niho. I never knew my mother nor my little cute sister. Flora and I were very close, we just needed each other. To make the story less complicated, I was born in Niho at first and then I moved to a different village and was raised their for. . . 'I don't know' years. Basically my whole childish life. Father taught us about magic and how to control it properly. Father heard news of a new sister that was brought to this world. So we traveled back to Niho to see our new sister. Flora was excited as much as I was.

"I was able to meet my mother. . . and my little sister. . . " Haru lowered his face and began to laugh. "Oh my God! Makato, she was cute as fuck!" His eyes began to drool as well as his mouth. His fingers squiggle like worms on crack. He truly didn't forget that part of his memory.

Ike sweat dropped and just nodded his head. "Yea, okay. . ." He remembered seeing Makato as a baby during the Mario and Sonic War. That brought some horrific memories for him.

"Thus we all lived together as a happy family. I would like to say 'the end' but that wasn't the case. It was only for a short amount a time we had to go back. Father was very outgoing and strict that time. He didn't want us to be distracted by Makato when we continued our training. So we had to leave her, just when she was beginning to love us. . . I remembered her small and round face, getting so red from the tears and the wailing she had done. She truly didn't wanted us to be apart." And just like that, Ike was able to sense a crying shard when Haruhi paused for a little moment.

"I guess to her. . . I'm a stranger. . ." He croaked. It was hard for him to say that. But Haruhi couldn't think of nothing else to comprehend the life now. Ike kept silent for some period of time while Haru quietly wept to himself.

". . .If she loved someone or something so much, I doubt Makato would forget." Ike spoke. Haru shot his head up and turned to Ike. "You think so?"

Ike cringed from his glossy eyes which made Haru's face looked like a baby face. "Yea. You have my word."

Haru sniffled and wiped his tears. "Thanks, Ike. The fact that you know Makato more than me, it makes me happy to find out someone who knows her well than me. It makes me happy to see that Makato has a great friend like you."

"Boyfriend." Ike corrected him.

Haru cracked a unimpressed smile. "Nonsense. Who gave you that idea?"

"I kissed her like four times. So technically, I'm her boyfriend."

"You stained me innocent sister with your dirty lips?!" Haruhi roared from the top of his lungs.

"Hey! My lips aren't dirty like your thoughts!" Ike shouted back.

"No one touches my sister, but me!" Haru jabbed his finger on Ike's chest.

"What a you?! A pervert who likes touching their sisters?!"

"I'm not a pervert, you stranger!"

"So NOW I'm a stranger!" Ike got up from the log and so did Haru, both giving each other deep glares.

"So. . .if I'm a stranger to you. . ." Ike started.

"If you're a stranger to me. . ." Haru started as well.

"That means. . ." The both placed their hands on their weapons. "I CAN KILL YOU!"

Back at the crumbs of the mansion.

The group that was with Flora and Zelda were back at the Smash Mansion area. They all noticed that the other group isn't back yet.

Twitch. A vein popped out from her head.

"What's wrong?" Zelda asked Flora who looked like she was about to choke someone.

"I sense my brother doing something stupid," Flora claimed, "and also, they're not back yet."

"I sense Ike doing something stupid as well. I do wonder." Marth said.

"C-can I get some water?" The Dark Knight in a lightning chain asked Flora since she was the ring leader.

"No."

"But, I'm very thirsty!"

"Drink your piss."

". . . I can manage."

"Damn!" Kirby shook his head from Flora's savage act.

From minutes of goofing off and chatting, the second group finally came.

"Oh! They're back!" Marth said.

The second group where Roy was at met up with Marth and the others.

"Where's my brother?" Flora asked the person who was leading the group, which happened to be Roy.

"He said to go on ahead without him because he wanted some quality time with Ike." Roy said, twiddling his fingers. He was a little fidgety for some reason. Marth arched an eyebrow. "Why is Roy acting like that?"

"So, they're not here. Who has the Fire Dragon Scale?"

"Haru."

Twitch. Another vein popped out from her head. Flora hid her anger with a smile. "Thank you. . . Roy, for the info." She patted his shoulder and walked away, passing the group. "I'll be back. . ." Once her emotions were out of sight, it changed into a demon's glare.

"Oh my God! She remembered my name!" Roy fanboyed. Miru sweat dropped. "Um. . okay."

The Dark Knight frowned, "What a weird bunch. . ."
