Chapter 64: Forgotten Love

"Who knew such a cinnamon roll could remind me of the past?" Mikoru said, staring at the door from across. Makato wasn't on Mikoru's lap after she had finished her sweet treat, only sitting right next to him on her own bed.

"What really confuse me is that you still eat cinnamon rolls. Why is that?" Mikoru then asked her.

Makato shifted her position, staring at the door with a blank expression. "I really don't know. Ever since you introduced cinnamon rolls me, it became my favorite. I would say it's my favorite to eat." That was her best answer she could ever think of.

Mikoru shook his head with a luscious smirk."Or how it reminds us of our first love together."

"Nonsense," She spatted, "that's not true. I sincerely hated you for everything you've done. . ."

"You're lying." Mikoru said.

"Am not." Makato replied, focusing her hands on her lap to distract herself. Makato couldn't come up with a clear answer, nor did she wanted to speak the truth out. Mikoru scooted in toward her and placed his arm around her small shoulders. She fidgeted her position, wanting to have no physical contact with him whatsoever, but he didn't allow that as he pulled her in closer. Makato made a silent sigh.

"I'll confess if you confess." Mikoru whispered to her ear. Makato glanced at Mikoru's eyes for a while and they looked serious.

"What do you mean?" She then asked.

Mikoru removed his arm around her shoulder and slowly stood up, making a distance to where he could face her straight on. He reached over the ceiling with his hand, summoning a dark, long sword he fought with in the Smash Mansion. Makato's heart began to race, thinking he might kill her.

However his eyes looked sorrowful and the way he gripped his sword showed the signs of a weak king. "All this time, I've always kept secrets from you, all for my own selfish ways of my name, Fumiharu and Dark Knight. I never tell you anything. I never wanted to hurt you, but I kept on hurting you. That is who I am. And I cannot escape my fate. But, there was one way to escape this ugly destiny I tried so hard to stop." He pointed the sword to his neck. The blade was sharp as a bee's sting, poking his skin with a tiny trail of blood.

Makato literally leaped out of his comforting position with wide crying eyes. "What are you doing?" Makato's voice trembled in shock.

Mikoru kept the same look and cracked a smile. "I want death to call upon me. I want to die. . ." He swallowed as she watched, stepping a tiny bit closer. "If I were to die, I wouldn't have to be a Fumiharu anymore. I can finally stop this curse and stop being a burden to you."

"Death isn't the answer." Makato blurted. Her legs wobbled at times from this moment she was currently watching. "Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me that you were suffering? I could've gave you a potion and-"

"I wanted to see what would happen. Forgive me for saying such." Mikoru lowered the position of his sword that was aiming for his chest.

"You idiot! This wouldn't- -none of this would ever had happen if you only told me-!" Makato cried. She sat back down on her bed and quietly sobbed to herself. Mikoru dropped the sword as it vanished in thin air. He walked up to her and kneeled right in front of her, caressing her cheeks, feeling her tears when it pelted softly on his hands.

"I'm sorry, I wanted to be the antagonist." He murmured. "Still, you played so hard to get. I tell you to marry me, but you always say no."

"Because I don't even like you anymore." Makato answered back.

Mikoru let out a small chuckle. "Yea, I'm going to kill myself."

"No!" She looked up at him, realizing how close she was to him. She hid her face back in her hands. Mikoru waited for her to show her face to him once more.

"I thought you hated me." Mikoru said.

"I do, but let me confess something to you. . ." Makato looked at him again, still weeping. "I. . . I eat cinnamons rolls because it reminds me of the good times we had together when we were young. . . I even attempt to go back to the forest that day, because I knew it was you." She frowned and sighed. "You never tell me anything. . ."

"Yea, I know. . . I'm sorry." Mikoru smirked. "So, you don't hate me?"

". . .I just don't want to lose you," She replied back, "so don't think about suicide anymore."

". . ." Mikoru got up from his position and summoned his sword once more. "We now know our true feelings, but it doesn't change anything." Mikoru pointed this sword to his stomach and gave a hard push through the abdomen. "I choose death."

Makato's pupils shrunk, shocked from his actions. "MIKORU!" She ran up to him, right after he collapsed on his knees. "No, don't do this! Killing yourself is wrong! Who's gonna kill all of this blood?!" She saw the puddle of blood growing around his stomach like an incoming flood.

Mikoru's breath was thick and heavy as he stared at her crying eyes. "Makato, what's the point, if you don't even love me? I don't want any of this without you."

". . ." She heard his painful groan and looked at the sword that was still in his stomach. Makato tried to grab the sword, but received an instant shock right after.

"Even when I killed Ike, I still get jealous of his dead ass. . ."

"Mikoru. . ." Makato was lost in words. She got up from her knees. "Where did you keep my potions?"

"In the room next door. . ." He said before coughing out a sloppy gush of dark, crimson blood. She gasped from the ugly sight and ran out of the room to get her potions. She went inside the room where it usually was used for storage for extra blankets and pillows. She spotted her taken crates and bottles of potions, sprinting to the box and opened it.

"Where is it? Where is it?" She needed the bottle of healing before it was too late. It was a good thing the bottles were all label and organized, remembering the patterns. Makato finally got the potion of healing and ran to the door, that somehow was surprisingly closed. And locked.

"Why can't it open?! I didn't even hear it door shutting! Is there a ghost here?!" She snapped, pulling and fiddling with the doorknob.

"Mikoru don't die!" She ran back to get another potion from the crate, looking for something that would be able to break the door.

"Jokes on you. I'm not dead." She heard his voice from behind. When she turned around, she was pushed onto the ground that had a small pile of homemade blankets. Mikoru smirked, as he went on top of her.

"What-?! How are you-?!" Makato was in total confusion.

"I faked it." He answered. "I put fake blood between my arm and waist and it looked like I stabbed myself. Clever of me, right?"

His answer only made him receive a stinging slap to the cheek. Then another. Another one.

"I thought you killed yourself! Why would you play with my emotions-?!" She even threw a punch to his face and he accepted it. Every single sting of pain.

"Because I want to see your reaction." Mikoru then said and blocked her upcoming knee attack between his private parts.

"I enjoyed your reaction." Mikoru earned himself a laugh. "You're so amusing. . ."

Makato didn't say anything, but only blushed in response. "That wasn't funny. . ." She muttered, looking away. Mikoru forced her to look his way when he placed his hand on her cheek. He leaned in closer to where he touch her lips. Makato didn't attempt to push him away, only to bring him closer when she wrapped his arms around his neck. Touching and squirming in place, Makato felt like he lured her in here so he could be able to mess with her in private without anyone interrupting.

She also felt like she made the biggest taboo of her life, remembering Ike in her mind.

"I can't be doing this to Ike. . ." Makato said when she removed her lips from his'.

"Oh, what do you mean?" Mikoru got up from his position. "He's dead. There's no proof of his existence."

Makato got off from the blankets and dusted her dress. She let out a sad sigh, not knowing if she accept the reality of the Smashers.

"I just wanted to give you a gift." Mikoru grabbed her hand gently.

"You're not doing anything to me."

Mikoru walked closer to Makato without a response.

"Um. . ." Makato trailed. Mkikoru placed his hands on her neck, brushing it with his cold knuckles.

"I want to mark you." He then licked his lips in a graceful manner, causing Makato to cringe. The princess shook her head.

"No way. . ." She felt her blood heating up around her cheeks.

"Don't worry, I won't make it noticeable."

Before Makato could say anything, Mikoru crashed her lips onto hers as he forced her steps to move backwards till her back was against the wall. He began to lower his lips to her neck, causing her to freeze. Makato didn't want to make any noises to think that she would surrender to him. Mikoru kept up with it, even biting her neck to tease her.

"Stop it." She yelped, even in her voice, a small moan crept out, which made Mikoru crept out a grin beneath her neck. He looked back at her, touching the bottom of her lips with his fingers.

"I'm enjoying this, way more when I tried raping you."

Mikoru's answer earned a glare to the princess as she slapped his hand away. "So you do admit!"

Makato was about to walk away, but got pulled into a complete stop from Mikoru's hand on her arm.

"Hey, I'm not done yet." Mikoru smirked, bringing her into a back hug.

"You're messed up. . ." Makato only murmured.

"I know. . ."

June 4th

12:00 A.M.

"Do you know where your children are? Because it's now twelve o'clock. If they're somewhere out on the street. Just imagine how scared they are~" Kirby sang and Ike was forced to use his fist to shut him up every 10 minutes.

"Don't you ever shut up?" Ike said in a pissed tone.

"I'm afraid he doesn't ever close his ugly mouth. . ." Marth sadly sighed. "Well, Kirby kept our trip from being in total boredom."

"Do you know where your children are?!" Kirby raised his voice even higher.

"He's been singing the same song since! Ten times so far!" Roy groaned loudly.

"It's in my head now. . ." Peach murmured along to the lyrics.

"Guys, we're near the gate of Niho. . . so shut up." Haru ordered. The Smashers were behind the two siblings, all of them were hiding in the big bushes from a distance, to spy on the two guards that stood by on each side of the gate.

"So, what's our next plan, mates?" Pit whispers showed excitement for some strange reason, even Miru took offense to that.

"Pit, stop trying to act all happy. They have Makato-!" Ike cupped his mouth which Miru ended of getting muffles from his mouth.

"Let's not cause anymore drama. . ." Ike said, making an invisible point to Robin and Lucina, for they were clueless about the whole situation. Miru nodded and Ike released him.

"Might as well think positive. . ." Miru murmured, "oh happy day~"

"So Makato's hometown has this imperialism and nationalism feeling. I likey." Robin smiled.

"Yes, yes." Lucina nodded.

"So the question is, how do we get in?" Haru asked the group.

"Can't ask them to let us in?" Ness suggested.

Link turned to him and shook his head. "Can't you be smart for one minute?"

"DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILDREN ARE?!"

"SHUT UP, KIRBY!" Everyone shouted at the small puffball. Kirby stuck his tongue and flipped them off right after.

"Hey! I hear some noises from those bushes!" Guard One caught them on point while eying the bushes.

"Yea, you're right? You think they're intruders?" The other guard said.

"Come out!"

"Oh crap! They found us!" Lucas cried.

"Now what?!" Roy whispered loudly.

Flora turned her head to the Dark Knight she had captive and grabbed him by the collar. "We'll use him."

"Huh?" That was all he could said before being violently pushed out of the bushes, and straight to the front gates of Niho. The guards were startled at first, but slowly began to recognize the uniform.

"Oh, it's the dragon boy!" Guard Two said.

The Dark Knight slowly began to get up from his feet as he laughed nervously. "Hehehehe. . . Um," He glanced behind the bush and instantly came up with an idea. "I brought in newcomers. . ."

"Oh! More the merrier! How many?" Guard One asked.

He didn't know the exact number of Smashers were here, so he only guessed. "Um. . . 30?"

"Whoa!" The two guards were amazed.

"You're gonna get promoted from Lord Mikoru! Bring them in!" Guard One said.

"That's your cue guys. . ." Haru with his unknowingly great hearing heard every word before the Dark Knight could gesture them to come. "Now's your chance."

"What about you guys?" Marth asked them.

"We'll get discovered immediately, don't worry about us." Flora answered, "now, go!"

The Smashers left their hiding spots, one by one. The two guards were shocked to see more than just humans.

"So many applications to fill out. . ." Guard Two murmured.

"Who cares, they look evil anyways! Plus, I see some girls!"

The Smashers crowded around the gate, waiting for orders.

"Um. . . We'll get you suited up! Follow us!"

(oOoOoOo)

The Smashers took a long tour of what used to be Niho. Only Miru knew what Niho looked like before with its bright and friendly atmosphere before Mikoru ruined it all for his own imperialism. The placed was like the first day of the Industrial Revolution; there was still some construction going on and those people were being forced into labor from the other black nights that were awake.

"Whoa, it smells like coal around here. . ." Luigi fanned his green hat from the stench.

"If you ask me I'm smelling pasta!" Mario grinned under his mustache.

"I smell cocaine!" Kirby exclaimed. The little puff ball glanced at a cloaked man with a glass container coughing disgustingly as he took in deep breaths of the poisonous gas.

Kirby eyed him weirdly. "Well, somebody has no life at all. . ."

"That's because we have a coal factory, a pasta factory, and a pot factory!" Dark Knight Guard 1 explained to the three.

"Mikoru didn't look like a druggie at all, so why would he need such?" Marth said to himself. The Smashers continued walking and Dark Knight then stopped the flow of traffic to make a note to the group.

"And if you look far enough, you'll be able to see the castle."

"By all possible means, is Makato there- -I mean, is the Princess Makato there?" Ike asked.

"Why of course! She's up there in the castle with Lord Mikoru. After all, they are going to be married in three days."

"Married in three days?!" Roy, Marth, Miru, and Ike had their jaws off the ground from that shocking news.

"Isn't that exciting?!" Dark Knight Guard 2 said with a cheesy smile.

"No, it's not!" Roy shouted at him as he gripped tightly onto his shoulders.

"Huh? Why not?" Dark Knight Guard 1 asked. Roy released his shoulders after realizing he was undercover.

"Um. . . I mean. . . I can't wait! Hahaha." Roy then answered with an awkward laugh. He glanced at Ike and immediately regretted it when he shot his death glare at him.

Zelda cleared her throat to get the Dark Knights' attention. "We were overwhelmed to see the princess. Is it possible to meet her? Right now?"

"Good job, Zelda!" Pit cheered quietly.

"It's not possible." Dark Knight Guard 1 blunty answered, following by a yawn.

"Why is that?" Ike said feeling a little impatient.

"First of all, only Lord Mikoru's elite soldiers are allowed in the castle. There are um. . . five of them, which includes the Dragon Boy." Dark Knight Guard 1 pointed at the hooded Dark Knight right next to Samus. The Smashers made the attention toward him with surprised faces. He got scared when Ike gave him his death glare.

"Um. . ." His sweat dropped.

"Second, us regular soldiers can't go in the castle unless granted special permission from the elite soldiers." The guard continued, "and third, how are you guys supposed to go in without your DK badges?!" Dark Knight Guard 1 showed the group the tainted and dark DK badge on his cape.

"Why is it glowing all purple?" Lucas asked.

"Oh, it's only mandatory till you get a real tattoo from Lord Mikoru. These badges will make you under surveillance 24/7 from our gracious Lord Mikoru.

"It's DK for Donkey Kong!" Diddy Kong gasped.

"OMG! I'm actually noticed!" Donkey Kong cried real tears for the first time. "Thank you all-"

"You stupid hairy ass gorilla! It stands for Dark Knights!" Dark Knight Guard 2 lashed out at Donkey Kong.

"Don't worry, the badges come with the cloaks I'm about to show you right now." Dark Knight 1 lead them to the store that was filled with Dark Knight clothing. The Smashers were amazed from the decor of the place.

"Welcome to Dark Knight Ann Frank." Dark Knight Guard 2 said.

"If you ask me, you should call it Dark Knight Macy's." Peach suggested.

"Shut up. Lord Mikoru liked our idea!"

Dark Knight Guard 1 showed the cloaks from various sizes on each hanger, ready to be worn. "Freshly handmade with professional dry cleaning service. Choose any style you want to wear! While you guys do that, Dragon Boy can explain the rest since he is an elite Dark Knight."

"Ok." Ness said.

"We need to get back on duty before someone sneaks in or some shit. Laters!" Dark Knight Guard 2 waved them off and they both left the shop.

"We learned so many things from this place. . ." Robin said, analyzing the cloaks. "I seriously rather not wear another cloak. . ."

"These capes are not only hideous, but they'lll keep an eye on us." Marth scanned at a cloak that had little frizzles on the bottom after checking the Dark Knight badge.

"So are we wearing them or naw?" Roy asked.

"If we wear them, we'll get caught and that would be game over for us." Zelda said. "We just have to make some kind of replica or something like that!"

"Zelda, I saluted you from the very beginning." Ike gave Zelda a strong salute right after.

"What about me?!" Marth cried out to the mercenary. Ike glanced at him and scoffed him.

"Heh, I don't salute crossdressers-"

"You know I'm not a crossdresser you stupid pig!" Marth shot back at him.

"Hey, you should be calling Kirby the pig! Or Wario!"

"Everyone!" Zelda called out to the Smashers before it went out of hand, "look for a plain cloak without any badges!"

"Guys! I just checked all of the cloaks! There's badges in all of them!" Sonic announced a second right after Zelda's order.

"Thanks for the heads up, Sonic. . ." The princess sighed.

"Poyo!" Kirby had a XXXL cloak on, wearing the hood while the whole cloak floated in mid-air when he began to puff up in the sky.

"Kirby! What are you doing?!"

"Stop it!"

"We're gonna get caught!"

(oOoOoOo)

"This is why I don't fight for Kirbies. They all stupid as fuck." Ike stomped on the puff ball after stripping the cloak in shred from Kirby's body.

"It's gone. . ." Dragon Boy checked his arm.

"What's gone? You're life?" Link asked.

"My Dark Knight tattoo. . ." He murmured.

"What?"

"It's nothing. . ." He then covered his arm up with his cloak back on. Dragon Boy walked up to Zelda and lightly patted on her shoulder for her attention.

"Um, Miss. . ."

"Zelda." She corrected him.

"Zelda, I have a suggestion." He said.

Zelda eyed him cautiously. "You're only our prisoner, why should I trust your words?"

"Please trust me. . . I don't want to be a part of this anymore. I rather help you guys." He then removed his hood from his head.

"You probably have that tattoo mark thing on you somewhere. Wait. . . should we be even saying our plans to you?"

"Should I kill him?" Ike crunched his knuckles with his fist.

"No, lemme kill him." Miru said.

"Wait, wait! I don't have the mark! I swear!" He countered.

"Why is that?" Zelda said.

"I think it was when during our fight in the Smash Mansion. . . I don't know. . ."

"Someone check him to see if he has any DK tattoos on him."

"My pleasure!" Peach grinned evilly at the dragon boy. "I've been practicing to the point when I would meet my Cloudy again."

"Just why?" Samus shook her head.

"Please don't, I'm telling the truth!" He begged on his knees. The Smashers took no sympathy for him and allowed Peach to do her job. Minutes laters from searching from the armpits to the buttocks, there wasn't a sign of a mark.

"So you weren't lying. Ok!" Zelda patted his bare skin. He shivered from her touch as he slowly slipped his clothes back on.

"I like his red eyes. It reminds me of my Kit Kat bars at the mansion." Kirby said.

"His skin is pretty pale. . . is he a ghost?" Ness whispered over to Toon Link.

"Probably." The little elf shrugged.

"Your plan again?" Zelda asked the dragon boy. After he explained his plan to the group, they all agreed with the plan and started wearing the cloaks.

(oOoOoOo)

The Smashers left the store and made their way to an empty and deserted area in Niho to talk about their plans. All relaxing and sitting on near by rocks and grassy hills.

"We have three days to save Makato. She's likely in the castle no doubt about it. We need a group to fight Mikoru, a group to save Makato, and another group for the defense for when we break in the castle." Zelda explained. Ike raised his hand before stuffing his face with a banana he got from a convenient store that opened 24/7. Even so, everyone bought snacks in the last night.

"I think I should do the fighting and the saving. . ." The mercenary suggested himself, "I mean, I'm a mercenary so I'm used to this type of shit."

"Bullcrap, Ike. I don't see you as the saving type." Marth shook his head. He pointed his chopsticks at Ike from his instant ramen. "You're always so aggressive."

"I agree with Marth." Zelda said, "don't think this is some kind of solo project. We need to be in groups!"

"We will need one leader for each group then, right?" Samus said.

"Yea. Since I have the Golden Flower Goddess, I'm the leader for the Mikoru group." Zelda walked over to Ike, Kirby, and the dragon boy, who were all standing right next to each other.

"Ok, we need a defense group and a Makato group leader. You-" Zelda pointed at Dragon Boy. He glanced up at Zelda, still in the process of eating his tuna melt.

"You will be the Defense Group Leader."

"O-okay." He wasn't expecting anything. Zelda faced Ike and then Kirby. Kirby was busy eating a jelly donut to pay attention.

"Please, you better not be comparing me to a mere Kirby. . ." Ike murmured angrily with a smile.

"Ok! Kirby will save Makato!"

A drool slipped out of Kirby's mouth and he answered sloppily with sugary jelly around his mouth. "Poyo!"

Ike raged and kicked Kirby to the stars. "Why this little frosted pink shit?!"

"Poyoooo! I'm gettting your heeeaddd!" Kirby cried out before turning into a star.

"Ike, you're better off in the Mikoru group. Like meh!" Roy said. "And nice drop kick, man!"

"Remember, we have three days left! So let us cooperate as one!" Marth said.

Ike grunted and snatched a bag of Doritos from Ness just when he was about to open them.

"Hey!" Ness yelled at him.

"Shut up." Ike snapped back.

"If you ask me Zelda," Link took a sip of his lemonade, "I think Kirby should be the defense leader."

"Why is that?"

"Mario, Pit, Yoshi, and I both experience Kirby's crazy fighting skills when he was fighting the dragon boy. Think about it. He could wipe out the whole offense in one swoop! And since the dragon boy is an elite Dark Knight, he would have easy access to Makato."

"That makes a lot of sense, Link. Thank you." Zelda smiled. She clapped her hands together for the Smasher's attention once more. "Everyone! Change of plans! Kirby is going to be the Defense Group Leader and Dragon Boy is going to be the leader to save Makato."

Lots of murmuring occurred, but only the Smashers nodded their heads. Everyone except for Ike.

"I'm making lots of enemies everyday. Don't you think so too, Marth?" Ike grinned a creepy grin to Marth who almost choked on his noodles.

"God, Ike! You need to calm the fuck down!" Marth cleared his throat right after, but was still coughing insanely. He turned to Roy with a pink face. "Roy, *COUGH* get me some water!"

"Here!" Roy tossed the water bottle to Marth. Marth twisted the cap off and chugged it down in one serving.

"So, Zelda, what's the next plan? When do we attack?" Miru asked, adjusting his heavy sleeves from the cloak.

"In their vulnerable state."

"I'm ready to go." Ike overheard the conversation after handing back the empty bag of chips to Ness.

"No, not now! It will have to be on the day of their wedding."

"That would make some sense, I bet there wouldn't be a lot of defense in that time." Miru nodded.

"But what if something goes wrong? What's our next plan?" Pit said, worried.

"Kirby is our last option then."

"Is this Kirby appreciation week or something?" Ike placed a popping vein on his head. Kirby came back from the sky and smacked Ike on the head.

"That's what you get, you scumbag horse shit!"

"Why you little piece of-!"

"I'm very confused. . ." Lucina said, eating pizza. Robin shrugged.

"Eh, I kinda figured it out along the way. . ."

"What to expect from a chess player. . ."
