Chapter 78: I'm Coming Home
Stranger's Home
"What's your name?"
"I don't know."
"What kind of guy are you?"
"I don't know."
"Do you find my daughters beautiful?"
"I don't know."
"You don't remember anything at all?"
"I don't know."
"What the hell! All he ever says is 'I don't know'!"
"I know, right- -I mean I don't know."
"Honey! Calm down! He just slept in a closet tied up with three bumps on his head! Let him be." The wife said to her husband, while serving both of them a plate of hot scrambled eggs, three strips of crispy bacon, and two slices of white toast. She sat with them after handing them a glass of orange juice. Miru sat there like a shy kid that transferred into a high school. He couldn't bring himself to eat the food with an empty mind with no memory whatsoever.
The husband grunted. "Hmph." He grabbed his fork and stabbed his bacon. "The sooner he leaves, the better. I don't care what that scary looking boy said yesterday, it's better than keeping him around."
"Don't mind him, he's a hothead. . ." The wife smiled at Miru.
"I know." Miru quietly nodded with his eyes locked onto the food on his plate.
"So, tell me your name?"
He looked up at the woman and shrugged. "I don't know." Miru responded.
She gasped lightly. "Oh my. You don't remember who you are? Who was that man that got you all tied up?"
"I don't know." He repeated.
"Well, you can stay with us until you get your memories back." The wife said. "You can do chores around the house."
"I hate chores."
The husband arched a glare at him."Oh! So now you'll say something different for once!" He exclaimed.
"Haha, nothing is free. Besides. You look strong and healthy. You got the muscles!" The wife grabbed his arm and observed the muscles on his arm since he wore a sleeveless shirt. "Are you a Faithful Knight?"
"I don't know."
"Melena! Sarah!" The wife called to her two daughters. After a few minutes of calling, they finally showed up in their pink, cotton pajamas.
Melena was the older daughter, who loved to be the obedient daughter in the family. Sarah was the younger daughter, who just loved to spit things out from her mind.
"Mom, you called us?" Melena asked.
"Sit, sit!" The mom patted the table in which they were eating their breakfast. "Food is ready."
"Oh boy!" Sarah cheered and sat next to the stranger without making any eye contact. Melena stared at the stranger before making her way to the dining table.
"Ok," The wife turned to Miru. "Choose of my daughters. They will be your new fiance."
Miru choked on his orange juice and was quickly aided from the younger daughter.
"You've got to be kidding me!" The dad rejected the idea of a stranger marrying their daughters. "He has amnesia! The last thing I want him to remember is being a killer!"
"Honey! He's not a killer!" She defended him.
"I don't trust him! What if he's one of those crazy guys from last night?"
"It'll be fine! He seems like a genuine guy."
"Mom! I want to marry him! He's super hot!" Sarah raised her hand.
"You're 10! I'm not allowing that kind of age gap! Besides no one is getting married to that stranger!" The dad shouted.
"Your father's right. You're quite young. . ." The mother glanced at her oldest daughter which brought a grin upon her face. "Melena you're 19, right?"
"Yes." Melena answered softly.
The wife glanced back at Miru, eying his muscular body. "And how old are you Miru?"
"I don't know."
"Well. . . this will do. Assuming you're 20. . . ." The wife nodded happily, as she clasped her hands. "You will be engaged to my daughter, Melena."
"NO! I won't allow it!" The dad slammed his hands on the table.
"Mom. . ." Melena didn't know how to react, but stare at her breakfast. Miru looked down at his hand and checked his pointer finger, slowly interesting his finger in his nose. After he flicked a booger from his nose, he got up from the table.
The mom got up from the table. "Where are you going?"
"Anywhere but here." He placed his head where the bumps used to be and noticed their a bit smaller. Miru then made his way to the door, and nobody did anything to stop the stranger.

Castle
Breakfast was being served with a full course of, hot pastries, pancakes, eggs, bacon, waffles, fruit, and many more. The Smashers spread themselves around the dining room while sitting in smaller tables. Everyone wore a fresh set of clothes rather than their old dirty ones during the war. White t-shirts and black pants for the boys, and blue dresses for the girls. It was mandatory, just so their old outfits could get cleaned.
"Come on, little sister, you need to fill your belly up for any incoming wars." Haru smiled, trying to feed her heavy meats of ribs, plumped sausages, t-bone steaks. Makato only leaned away with her hands defending her mouth; she didn't her want pink, long sleeved dress to be ruined in the long run. Haru kept encouraging her, just like the yellow smiley faces that covered his black onesie.
"Um. . . no thanks. . ." Makato trailed her words, as much she didn't want to judge Haru's eating habits, she couldn't bring herself to eat that much meat in the morning.
"Stop it, you meat whore." Flora demanded, wearing a long, yellow nightgown. "Only you eat that much meat in the morning." She said bitterty, swiping the meat away from his hands which landed back on his plate. Flora then presented a bowl of the greenest salad with slices of tomatoes, cucumbers, red bell peppers, and croutons.
"Here, this is your kind of taste isn't it? A giant bowl of salad in the morning." Flora smiled with high expectations of her sister devouring salads like many vegetarians. Makato shook her head even quicker than the t-bone steak.
"What?" Flora was shocked. "You don't eat veggies in the mornings?"
Makato could feel the disappointment coming from her older sister as draw back the salad. Haru grinned, feeling as if he won the battle. "See, only grass freaks eat salads in the morning."
A little yellow spark was in glismpe in her presence.
Haru crossed his arms and breathed out a flare of fire from his nostrils. "Try me."
"No fighting in dining room." Queen Rosalinda told her oldest children. "Especially when we have guests."
"Yes, mother." They both said.
Makato looked at their food and then her own empty plate. Now she knew their taste in eating. Haru loved meat and Flora loved greens. They were completely different, but they have one thing in common. Sweets weren't in their favor.
"What if they hate me because of my love for sweets?" Makato murmured to herself. "Where's Miru when I need him. . .?"
"Seriously? Have you seen Miru?" Yoriki asked Ike and a few of the other Smashers, as they were sitting together.
Ike shrugged, too focus on his meaty plate. "I have no clue, but I'll do my best to keep a lookout." Ike did nothing better than to lie through his teeth. Well it was a half life, because he forgot where he left Miru since last night.
"You said the same shit last night." Yoriki eyed him and sighed. "Well, it's not like him to disappear. He better be here."
"Miru is our friend, and we know him well enough that he wouldn't be lost. But I'm honestly quite worried for him. . ." Marth placed his hand below his chin and thought about Miru's whereabouts. He glanced at Ike in which Ike stared at the prince with a dark glare under his eye balls.
'That's right, you better keep your mouth shut.'
"Y-yea! He's definitely alright!" Marth blurted.
"If not, he's in a happy place right now." Lucina smiled.
Marth almost choked while drinking a cup of orange juice. "Are you assuming he's dead?"
"That's right, we can't assume that he's dead. He may be in some kind of accident." Robin said.
"Oh my! That's wouldn't be good. . ." Zelda said. Link nodded in agreement, sitting right beside her.
"Man! I could go for another fluffy pancake!" Roy laughed nervously, as he grabbed his plate along with his fork. "I'll be right back-"
"I got extras." Ike interrupted with a firm hand on his shoulder. 'No one's escaping. Not even for mere seconds."
'I can't even get a pancake?!' Roy's sweat was very visible on his forehead as he took in a gulp of his saliva. "T-t-thanks. . ." He was then forced to sit back down. The redhead glanced at Ike's plate and there was no sign of any type of pancake whatsoever than stack loads of meat.
"I hope nobody is troubling you in this castle." Mario spoke with the King Utora at the throne. His pink hair was tied loosely in the back with complimented his orange gown that covered his orange flats.
"Louder the better, am I right?!" Utora laughed, brushing strands of hair to the back of his ear. "By the way, my wife wanted to give you something." Utora turned to the Queen and elbowed her. "Honey, you said you wanted to give them something, right?"
"Yes," Queen Rosalinda got up from her throne and slipped out an envelope from her sleeves. Mario watched with wide eyes. Maybe it was her golden gown that got the plumber half shook. "Here you go. You guys are always welcomed to come back."
Mario's eyes lit up with excitement. Was it money? It certainly was money! "Thank you!" Mario bowed.
"Oh, don't thank me so soon," She then sat back down. "Open the envelope when you get back to your humble home.
(oOoOoOo)
Breakfast was over with a bunch of leftover food, thanks to Ike duct-taping Kirby's black hole of a mouth during the rest of breakfast. As the Smashers were packing some extra food for their trip back to the destroyed mansion, Makato used the opportunity to talk to Ike in private.
She pulled him away from the dining room and into an empty hallway that had a few portraits of the royal family. Ike couldn't help but to look at the young Makato in the painting, smiling so bright. He grinned before looking back at the present Makato, standing right in front of him.
"I hope you enjoyed breakfast this morning Ike." Makato said.
Ike patted his stomach to show how much food he ate. "It's been a while since I ate like a king before. Thanks for the food."
"It was our pleasure." She replied with a smile. "As I was saying before, I would be staying here for the time being. But I never even asked if you wanted to stay with me?"
"Stay? With you?" Ike repeated just to make sure. He was in utter shock to even hear that word, "STAY".
The princess nodded. "Yes. Will you like to stay with me?"
Ike froze and tried clearing his head from the definition of the word "STAY" meant. "W-what do you mean? I'm not running away." He was getting a little nervous.
"That's not what I meant." She laughed. "I'm asking you to stay with me in Niho."
After getting his brain under control and stood firm with his fist tightened."Yes, of course." Ike said. "I would love that. . ." He trailed, feeling unsure of what he said was actually true in his heart or not.
Makato's eyes lit up. "Ah, really? I mean, you're not forced to-"
"I said yes." Ike placed his hands on her shoulders. "Even if it means betraying my friends, I would rather be with you."
Makato smiled. "You don't have to betray your friends for me. Oh-!" Makato removed his hands from her shoulder. "Speaking of friends, have you seen Miru?"
Miru.
No wonder he felt so insecure when Makato asked him if he wanted to stay or not. He was the cause Miru having amnesia, and when she were to find out. . .
"He's my childhood friend and we've been together for such a long time. . . as if part of my life was missing. . . I need to know where he is. . ." Makato frowned, now checking the halls they were now in. Ike had the tightest urge to run out of the nearest window.
But he stood still..
"Don't worry. I'm sure he's fine. . . I mean, he was born here, right? This is his hometown we're talking about." Ike said.
Makato looked up at him and sighed. "Yes, this is his home. . . yet, why do I feel so. . .?"
"He's fine, I tell ya." Ike repeated.
"He could be dead for all we know. I don't want to find his body in a ditch." She was even more worried than before.
"He's probably in someone's house. . ." Ike gave a hint from his sins, ruffling his hair. He only hope he didn't spill too much of his secret.
Makato gave a dark eye to the mercenary. "What makes you think that? It's not like Miru to go into people's house. His home is here. Here."
"Look." Ike clasped his hands together. "He's probably- -dead, let's just assume that-"
"How can you say that?" Makato interrupted.
"Wait, I didn't mean in a bad wa-"
"We're finding him. Nobody is leaving Niho until we find Miru. Maids!" Makato called out for her maids and they ran to her aid immediately.
"Yes, Princess Makato?" They all bowed in respect of the princess.
"Please commence a search party for Miru!" She ordered.
"Yes, Princess Makato!"
'I have made things worse haven't I?'
(oOoOoOo)
12:00 P.M.
"Have you seen a young adult with sky blue hair? A little spiky?" Robin handed out a flier to a random old man, who was planting flowers in her front yard.
"I'm color blind." He answered with a grin.
Robin cleared his throat, knowing he made a wrong move. "Sorry about your color blindness. Excuse me, sir. . ." The tactician left with Lucina walking along her side. She lazily rolled her eyes. "Robin, you always ask the disabled people. Why?"
"Silly, Lucina." Robin shook his head. "Don't you know in every MMORPG game, old people bring out the hidden items?"
"Miru isn't an item." Roy joined in the conversation.
"I know." Robin smirked.
"So why did you. . .? Ohhhh~ I get it. . ." Roy grinned.
"Of course you will." Robin and Roy then high-fived each other, leaving Lucina out of the boat.
"Look what I got when I talked to Uncle Joe!" Pit grinned widely while showing the three of them a couple of diamonds.
"Whoa." Lucina and Roy had their jaws dropped.
"You see?" Robin said.
"Oh, you mean it's for me?" Bayonetta was tall enough to pick the shiny rocks right from Pit's hands.
"But- but, but but- - - -but!" Pit tried to reach back for his diamonds, but her height was freakishly tall, he felt like a preschooler.
"You're under a contract, little angel, or did you forget?" Bayonetta showed him a written contract covered in what seemed to be blood.
Pit flinched from the piece of paper that was soaked in blood. "Did you force a blood contract on me in my sleep?"
The Umbra Witch glanced at the bottom of the paper and laughed. "Don't you know the difference between blood and ketchup?"
"Guys, stop talking and search for this human being." Marth passed by them with a handful of fliers.
"Yes, Marth-sama!" Lucina saluted.
"The sooner we find him, the sooner we won't get charged for murder. . ." Marth said, looking around the town of Niho that was filled with many Smashers. "This may take a while."
"We might get charged for murder?" Roy gulped.
"I overheard a conversation between the King and Queen." Marth explained. "I like how Ike makes things worse for all of us."
(oOoOoOo)
Ike went back to the same house he once visited, but the owners of the house didn't answer their door. Ike turned to the front window that was covered in curtains and knocked a couple times.
"Hm. . . something tells me they let him free." Ike stared at his fliers and sighed. "Maybe it's best to run while I can."
"So you could do what?" A familiar voice spoke to him. Ike turned around and saw the missing boy just like in the posters.
Miru looked confident while facing Ike. Did he somehow regained his memory? It was a 50/50 chance. The bumps were still on his head, visible to know it was Ike's doing. And Makato was in the main town of Niho. If she were to see him with Ike, it would be over.
Miru pointed at his injury. A symbol to Ike's dirty work. "Would you mind explaining the betrayal?"
Ike clicked his tongue annoyingly. There should be some kind of hope to avoid a huge landslide. "Miru, buddy." Ike dropped his papers and walked over to him with open arms. "Let bygones be bygones. Forgive and forget? Right?"
"I don't want an apology hug. Nor do I want another bump on my head." Miru shook his head, taking steps back away from the mercenary. He was already a step ahead from Ike knocking him out again.
"Then you won't tell Makato?" Ike was now stomping his legs over to him, but Miru kept backing away. It slowly turned into speed walking for the both of them.
"Who knows. . ." Miru shrugged. "It's gonna take more than that if you want to keep my mouth shut."
Ike glared at him and came to a complete stop. Miru also did the same and crossed his arms.
"What do you want?"
Miru responded with a laugh. "Wow! Christmas already?" Miru seemed to be having fun in the situation they're in. "I never thought about it. . ."
"Ike," A familiar, feminine voice spoke to the mercenary. Ike recognized the voice and thought of attempting to throw Miru over a house in just one second, but it was rather too late when she came walking in the scene with papers that had Miru's face on them.
Makato just came around the corner to see not only Ike, but another person with recognizable features..
The fliers from her hands, slipped like butter and into the ground. "Miru. . ." She stared at him as if it was her first time seeing him. With wide eyes, Makato ran up to Miru and gave a big embrace to her childhood friend.
"Miru! You had me worried sick! What happened?! Where were you?!" She kept asking questions as if she was his second mom.
Miru wrapped his arms around her back while keeping his eyes on Ike. And Ike looked rather tense. His facial expression wasn't excited nor sad. Just tight.
"It was a looong, journey. . ."
"You're not being specific. It better be a good excuse-" Makato parted from the hug and looked at what was above his skull. Visible, painful looking bumps sprouted on his head. "Miru, your head! What happened to your head?!"
Miru glanced at Makato before looking straight at Ike. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to keep Ike under the keeps. Miru only hoped Ike would never do that to him again.
"I tripped and fell, and I happened to lose some of my memory. But I remember now." Miru then looked back at Makato with an assuring smile.
"Miru! You tripped and fell?! I am shocked you lost your memory because of that!" Ike patted his back hard, trying his best to fake his surprise.
Miru glared at him, not buying his dumb act. "Don't rub it in."
"Miru, I've been meaning to tell you about this, but I never even had the chance to tell you." Makato said.
"What is it?"
"I'm going to be staying home to bond with my siblings, so you're free to follow the Smashers."
"Oh." Miru nodded, understanding every word. "Ok. Don't be lonely without me."
She faced Ike with a bright smile as she placed her hand on her arm. "Don't worry, Ike will be staying with me."
"What? Ike?" Miru wasn't going to aloud that liar stay with Makato. Ike could feel his angry vibes leaking from his body like a deadly virus spreading.
'Maybe it's best to just run now-'
"OW! My head!" Miru cried in pain, getting on one knee to support this sudden headache. Ike knew the bullshit through and through that it was an act to get him exposed. He thought of running now, but it'll only make him look bad.
"Are you okay?" Makato crouched down with him to see if she could be in any help to heal his head. "Let's head back to the castle and get a healing potion-"
"I remembered now. Everything." Miru secretly showed an evil smirk to Ike while bringing the fakest tears to Makato, and that wasn't good news for Ike.
Ike decided to pretend to have a watch on his wrist. "Wow, would you look at the time. Miru seems fine, so let's just forget everything and head back-"
"It was Ike that gave me these bumps!" Miru exclaimed with the fakest tears spilling from his eyes. "Ike! It was Ike!He knocked me out and gave me amnesia! He did it! You're own boyfriend hurt your own childhood friend!"
Makato stood frozen from his answer and got back up with Miru. The mercenary was now in a fight or flight situation. Either to run for his life, or to die here and right now.
He rather not die, however.
When he saw Kirby coming from corner with a hamburger, he made a sprint for his life. A sprint, as if he was racing Sonic and Shadow in a deathmatch.
"Thank you for telling me the truth." Makato smiled which didn't seem appealing to Miru when he only received a death smile. Her hair turned white like magic and he didn't even noticed her eyes changing from ocean blue to a tainted sharp purple. "I may have to reconsider my relationship with Ike, and just call it a good memory. Let's head back." Makato said.
"Um. . ." Miru was speechless when her feet began to hover from the ground below her. She completely transformed into her dark side without any warning. "Ok. . ." Miru decided to take the long way back to the castle when Makato went the way he ran.
He glanced back to see Makato walking to what seemed to be a portal.
He choked with every breath. 'She can teleport now?! Wait, is she teleporting to Ike?'
She disappeared along with the portal, and the last thing he heard was an abusing scream along with a high pitch scream coming from a puffball, who happened to be in the middle of it.
(oOoOoOo)
Outside of Castle
"I hope you all enjoy your stay here!" Queen Rosalinda said to the group of Smashers that were outside of the castle.
Marth bowed and forced the unmannered boy as well. "Thank you very much for everything."
"Ow, my back. . ." Roy groaned.
"I hope you have enough food for the road." Utora said.
"I think we need more." Kirby said, eating the rest of the food that was saved up since morning. Everyone sighed and shook their heads.
"Great, we're gonna starve. . ." Ness pouted.
"I'm used to starving so. . ." Lucas shrugged.
"You're always welcomed to come back! It's been a blast!" Haru smiled, showing a thumbs up.
"Of course, a friend of Makato's is a friend of ours." Flora nodded with a blunt look on her face. When she eyed Corrin, her face became quiet tense, and the dragon boy did his best to ignore that.
"Take care, Boi!" Kufu pulled Miru into a headlock.
"Father! Don't embarrass me!" Miru said, flustered.
"Send some pictures and letters, okay?" Yoriki said.
"No problem."
"Goodbye, everyone." Makato waved alongside with her mother. "Don't forget the potions, Mario."
"Of course." Mario remembered to bring the crate of potions that were right in front of his feet. "I wondered what it's all for? It's quite heavy. . ."
"I think they're for him. Makato told me they're healing potions for each part of his body. Talk about pure torture. . ." Robin whispered over to Mario while making eye contact with Ike that was riding alongside with a hospital bed. Peach volunteered to push his bed for him because it felt like a shopping cart.
"He's in a comma. . . there's no point in whispering." Samus said.
"Lol. Liars get what they deserve. . . I'm so done with lying. . ." Roy laughed. For some reason, his words triggered Corrin when it came to liars.
Zelda sweat dropped and looked back at Makato. Her eyes met hers and she smiled. If she was capable of beating up Ike to the point she would make him bedridden. . . just how powerful was her dark side?
After saying a few more goodbyes, they made there way to the Niho gates while receiving gifts along the way from villagers. After that, they were greeted by guards that saluted them and with unforgetful words. "You'll never be forgotten, Heroes of Niho."
(oOoOoOo)
Few days later, they arrived back at the foundation of the Smash Mansion. Rather, it was a new mansion built even more glorious and superior than the old mansion. Everyone was in awe.
"TOOK YALL LONG ENOUGH." Master Hand came out from the large doors, and the gates to the Smash Mansion magically opened for them. "WELCOME TO A NEW SMASH MANSION."
"I CAME UP WITH THE BLUEPRINTS!" Crazy Hand said, proudly.
"WE WERE ABLE TO RECOVER SOME OF THE STUFF THAT WAS LOST, WITH THE HELP OF GOOGLE IMAGES. COME IN!"
Speechless, the Smashers entered their new home.
Fresh. Clean. New.
"HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME!" Roy reacted first amongst the bunch, and that was when everyone went wild. Furniture smelling, wall touching, floor licking, countertop kissing, gazing at new chandeliers; the latest technology, looking at the fresh new, large kitchen and the china right next to it. More rooms were added; plenty of rooms were added and brand new to the Smashers.
"OMG, WE HAVE AN ELEVATOR!" Roy ran over to the evalvator and clicked the button with its arrow facing up asap. Marth was dead tired, but was happy to be home.
"Ike, can't you believe it- -oh wait, you can't because you can't even speak." Marth mocked him and left him there at the front of the door.
"Consider it karma. . ." Miru said with a grin, passing by Ike in his hospital bed.
"I'm shocked!" Link exclaimed.
"Wow! I'm so happy I could just-!" Mario decided to open the mysterious envelope that he received from the Queen.
