Chapter 82: Getting Settled

"That'll be $8.49." The cashier said.

After Makato paid for her sweets, she left the bakery and sat down at a nearby park since the snow on the grass excited her. She adjusted her orange scarf around her neck and placed the brown paper bag of sweets on her brown, long cotton jacket. Makato smiled upon the sweets inside her bag, crossing her brown books, as she took a cinnamon roll that was wrapped neatly with its cream cheese frosting.

"I can't wait!" Makato ripped the plastic wrapping and took a bite of her favorite treat. "Yummy~"

"Yea, keep eating those, and you'll end up fat." A familiar voice spoke to her. She looked up and saw Ike wearing a dark blue trench coat and a black scarf around his neck.

Makato frowned, "I have potions."

"Your Liposuction potions will betray you one day." Ike sighed, facepalming himself before looking back at the princess. "Let's go."

"Ok!" She quickly finished the bun in her mouth and got up from the bench. She caught up to him and wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Hey, not in public." Ike murmured to her. Makato smiled and shook her head.

"I can't. It's just that. . .you're very warm. . ."

Castle

Makato woke up, feeling drops of salty waters at the corners of her ocean blue eyes. She couldn't remember why, as she quickly wiped her eyes with the long sleeves of her nightgown.

"Ike. . ." She murmured, remembering parts of her dream. She then continued to get ready for another day with her completed family, which included her older siblings, Haruhi and Flora.

As she was changing, Makato went for a petty look, wearing a long, short-sleeved, light pink dress with white flats. She then checked herself into the long body mirror in her room bought from her older sister. It saved her the time from going from the bathroom to tie parts of her pink hair into two side buns while leaving the rest of her hair down to her back.

She smiled at her appearance and sighed. "Any second now. . ." Makato glanced up at her clock on the wall that read 7:59 A.M., as the second hand, ticked passed the 11, and soon the 12.

"GOOD MORNING!" Her older brother didn't bother to knock and busted the door open with his flamy patten pajamas on. With one of his eyes covered from his black, long angular bangs, his shining ocean blue eye on his left stared at the potion princess as he ran up to her for hugs and kisses.

She laughed tiredly and responded back. "Good morning. . ."

"How is my cute, Lil Tay doing~? Such a beautiful morning, right?!" Haru squeezed her tightly like a pillow.

"Y-yes. It is. . ." Makato was done with the same routine.

"Let's get some breakfast together~" Haru released her. "Ah, I'm so happy to have such a cute little sister! And I'm so glad you broke off your relationship with that. . . thing." Haru made a dark glare which made Makato a little nervous.

"Wait, you knew about it?" Makato sweatdropped.

His expression changed immediately into a bright smile. "Of course! I know everything about you! Your likes, your dislikes, your personality, your blood type, your favorite foods, your hobbies, what you where on the weekends, when you sleep, how you sleep, when you wake up, your height, your weight, your bad habits, your pet peeves, your measurements, your boob size, your favorite color of panties. Everything."

The princess left a speechless response and thought about locking herself in her room. "O-oh."

"But, you know that'll be cool if I knew everything about you, right?!" Haru laughed.

Makato almost wanted to leave the castle forever. "So. . . you were joking?"

"Except for the last three things, other than that-"

"BIG SISTER!" Makato screamed.

"Wait-! Nononono! Please don't call her! I'm kidding!" Haru was shown no mercy when Flora elbowed his face in a swift manner into the wall as it turned into oblivion. Makato was grateful to have a sister that wasn't just a princess of lightning but fast as one too.

When Haru mentioned about her relationship with Ike being cut off, it only made her think of his life right now in the Smash Mansion.

Living Room

"Cloud, you still haven't chosen your roommate yet?" Link asked the fellow blonde mercenary. Cloud sighed and shook his head.

"Just thinking about it annoys me. . ." Cloud answered. "I wanted my own room, but Princess Peach wants a room with me, and because of that, Mario is keeping me homeless in the basement."

"Ouch." Link wanted to burst out laughing. "Well. . . I heard a rumor about not choosing a roommate within the next week. You'll be forced to sleep in the basement."

He sighed. "Didn't I tell you I was living in the basement?" Cloud sank deeper into the couch just like his life, as he stared into the cartoon of Looney Tunes that all of the kids enjoyed.

Link tried cheering him up. "I heard that Bayonetta doesn't have a roommate yet. All the guys are dying to sleep with her!"

"Not interested." Cloud then grabbed his blue, large, coffee mug on the oak table and took a quiet sip. "Do you have a roommate?"

"Yep, the guy Marth lost to in the tournament." Link laughed. "He has this funny accent, I don't think scientists can't explain."

As they ended their conversation and focused their time on the show, Peach watched her lover from afar, using one of the large pillars as her hiding spot.

"Oh, Cloudy my love, hurry up out of the basement and pick me. Me. . . me. Me me me me me me me me me me me!"

"Peach, you sound like the trailer of The Conjuring 69. God-" Ike passed by annoyingly while being followed by Marth. Peach snapped back into her normal self and giggled. "Oh my. . . thank you, Ikey!"

"Who was that letter for?" Marth asked curiously when he saw Ike walking to the mailbox that was outside of the Smash Manor gates.

Ike kept his eyes straight in the hallway. "Oh, you mean that? It was for Makato."

"Aww~" Marth grinned. "You're finally doing something good for a change."

"Ever since I woke up, I heard rumors about us breaking up," Ike said.

"Well, even though Makato didn't say it, she did break you. Hahaha. . . get it?" Marth said with a smile. Ike glared at Marth which put an end to Marth's crappy puns. "What did you write?"

"Nothing special," Ike said.

"Come on. Tell me." Marth pushed him a little more.

"You know how we have more female Smashers?" Ike started.

"Yea, what about it?"

"I wrote only a mere sentence to make her jealous about the new female Smashers."

Marth coughed unexpectedly which almost lead him to choke. "You think making her jealous would bring her back to the Smash mansion? Not to mention, your relationship?"

"Of course. It's the oldest trick in the book." Ike smirked. "Once she sees me with all of these wamen around, she'll beg for me!"

"Are you doing this because you lack proper communication?" Marth asked. "I doubt you'll get any girls in your pants."

"Shut up!" Ike spatted. "They just haven't seen a real man yet."

Marth stared at him and shook his head. "Ike, stop it. You're making me cringe."

The mercenary just shrugged. "It's the truth."

"I can't believe poor Makato-chan has to put up with your bullshit. I swear she needs someone more princely and kind, and handsome like me-"

"AHH!" The former Dark Knight tripped over his two legs while carrying a large cardboard box in the hallway where Ike and Marth watched when their conversations were interrupted.

"Wow, can't even watch your step?" Ike laughed. "And you're not even wearing shoes!"

"Ike! Don't tease him!" Marth exclaimed. Since his friend did no good, Marth offered himself to help Corrin pick up the few things that were knocked out of the box.

"Are you okay?" Marth crouched down, picking up tatami mats and teapots. He then noticed a familiar green leaf but decided not to ask about it.

Corrin slightly nodded but sniffled from the pain he felt on his head and elbows. "Oh, I'm fine. . . It's just I've been awfully clumsy ever since I've been here."

'Ohmaigodhe'ssocuteiwannatakehimhomeandkeephim.'

Marth woke up from his daze and smiled. "Just. . . watch your step." Marth said. After helping Corrin with his things, the dragon boy thanked Marth and continued to make his way. Ike watched the back of his cape slightly swaying from left to right.

"Did he had some bad history trying on a pair of Jordans?" Ike then locked his eyes to his heels.

Marth sweatdropped. "I don't think that was the reason."

"Guess what, guys? I decided that I, myself, is going to take a trip to Niho to visit Makato! And then one day, she'll fall for me." Roy crossed his arms and nodded to himself about his smart plan.

"No, stop it," Miru said, glaring.

"You're just jealous cause you've never thought about it!" Roy sweatdropped.

Robin overheard Roy and closed his light novel. "I know it isn't any of my business to butt in your lonely life, but wouldn't Ike find out about your secret trip?"

Roy thought about it for being in a cloud of depression. "Nah. . . well um-"

"Also, just because they broke up, doesn't mean she'll be easy to catch." Robin continued. "Take me for example-"

Back in the Halberd

"So, Makato was it?"

"Yes, that's my name," Makato answered, scrambling for the potion for Robin.

"You make potions, using a potion book?"

"Yes, I do. Most potions that I make come from memory."

"That's incredible. I use spellbooks." Robin said. "I say, we are similar."

"Yes, we are." Makato smiled. "Ok, I found it," Makato said holding a bottle. She walked over to Robin and gave it to him. "Now, drink this, and you'll be fine for the rest of your life."

"I do like the sound of that. I knew my memories would be very pleased with you."

During the Five Day Knock Out Spell

"I think I'm lost. . ." Robin sighed. Looking in all directions he found a boy with short coral pink hair, sitting on a big, thick branch of a tree, crouching himself into a ball. Robin walked toward that tree and looked up.

"Umm, excuse me, sir, do you know where I can find the Halberd? I probably shouldn't be asking that to a stranger because of security reasons . . .but you know, desperate times call for desperate measures. Hehe." The boy looked down at the white-haired man and made a small gasp.

"Robin?"

"How do you know my name-? Wait, Makato?"

"Makoto. . . ." Makoto corrected.

"Makoto?" Robin questioned.

"No! I mean, Makato. . .people been calling me that lately. . ."

"Wait, what are you doing up there? Why is your hair short? And why is your voice deep? You look different. . ."

"The Five Day Knock Out Spell. . ."

"Oh, yes. I forgot. But, other than that Makato. . .tell me, what's wrong? I can tell that you are sad. Can you please come down? I want to help you."

Makoto looked down at Robin. "I can't get down. I don't know how. . ."

"Wait, what? You can climb but you can't get down?"

"I would usually jump off a tree. . ." Makoto said. Robin stretched out his arms toward Makoto. "I'll catch you." Makato hesitated a little. "I don't know. . ."

"I can use my magic than to destroy the tree then."

Gift Shop in the Smash Resort

"Makato, how are you and Ike doing?" Robin asked.

Makato picked up a small globe. It had a little girl in a cute in a blue dress, walking in a crazy world. "Ok. . . I guess. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I thought you guys. . . you know? Would be together. . . in a place like this." Robin slowly said.

Makato smiled at the snow globe. "I would like this snow globe."

Robin stared at her and smiled. He placed his hand on her hand. "I can buy it for you."

"Really?" Makato gleamed.

"Yes, really." The tactician grinned.

"Thank you, Robin."

Robin cut the flashbacks and sighed bitterly. "My support conversation with Makato was at an A rank, just when I was about to reach S rank. . . Let's say. . . the game crashed. . ."

Chinese Garden

"I saw Ike making out with Samus. . ." Makato started, clenching to her snow globe.

"Samus? Why?" He asked.

Makato then stared at the fish in the river. "I don't know. . ."

"So, that is why you're feeling so down. And why you weren't with Ike." Robin nodded his head, getting the whole problem. They continued to walk until they both sat on a bench. Both taking their seats, they didn't speak to each other.

Robin smirked in his mind, knowing he was close for a level S. 'Just a little push, and I got her.'

A few minutes later, Robin spoke. "I hope he apologizes. . ."

". . ."

"Or I might take you away from him. . ." He muttered.

"Oh, what was that? I didn't catch what you said at the end."

Makato felt was caught by his surprise kiss to the cheek. She blushed madly and stared at her snow globe, almost dropping it.

Robin got up to view the garden. "Isn't the garden just beautiful?" Robin smiled.

". . .Y-Yes. I r-really l-like the flowers. . ." She stuttered. Makato placed her hand against her cheek, staring at Robin's back.

"Let's head back. I don't know what Lucina is doing right now."

"Ok."

End of Flashback

"So, it's pointless, huh?" Roy twiddled his pointer fingers after hearing Robin's story.

"Of course not! By all means, feel free to make your own decisions," Robin replied. "But, I can't guarantee they'll come to a good end." Robin clicked his tongue annoyingly thinking his progress with Makato all went down to a drain. "And here I was so close. . ."

"Roy!" Lucina joined in the conversation. "If you're visiting her, take me with you!"

"Why?"

Lucina smiled and showed a brown bag, assuming that was filled with food. But for some reason, the bottom of the paper bag was soaked in a yellow suspicious liquid which reeked of their whole surroundings. Roy, Miru, and Robin all pinched their noses.

"What the hell is that?" Miru eyes began to water from the rotten smell of eggs.

"I want her to taste my delicious nutritious deviled eggs-"

"Nevermind! I'll stay home and wait for her to come back!" Roy changed his mind suddenly and ran away from the poisonous food.

Niho

Prison

Ever since Makato's siblings approached in her life, she would spend half of her day in a prison cell with Mikoru, during lunch hours with the permission of some Faithful Knights that kept guard over the prison of many dangerous criminals.

"You've been coming to my jail cell more often. . . And you don't ask for any protection whatsoever in case I may harm you. . ." Mikoru said, sitting on a wooden chair with a table to enjoy his prison that was serving tuna fish sandwiches and saltine crackers.

"You wouldn't hurt me anyway," She said, sitting down against a wall with her knees close to her stomach. Makato sighed loudly, and Mikoru only watched her expression with a tuna sandwich in his hands.

"Another complaint about your siblings?" Mikoru smirked.

"Yes," Makato turned to Mikoru with tired eyes. "If you knew them, why didn't you tell me they were weird? I thought I was bonding with them, but I'm getting exhausted! Haru is a complete lolicon who stalks me on his free time, and Flora is like my second mom except more overprotective. And every time they argue, it turns into a huge war. It's been weeks since I met them, and I already want to back home."

"Home?"

"I mean. . . the Smash Mansion." Makato corrected.

"Well, that's what siblings are for, annoying and bothersome relatives." Mikoru chuckled.

". . ."

"It only shows how much they love you, and how they care about you."

"Is that so?" Makato caved in her head toward her stomach. After some thought to herself, the princess got up from her position and left Mikoru's cell without saying a word. She came back to her home to know that she had a letter from the Smash Mansion.

"I know I was a little hard on Ike, but I think we can start all over again. . ." She mumbled out the possibility after her last encounter with Ike that almost lead him near to his deathbed.

"Start all over with who?" Her big brother popped out of nowhere.

"It's nothing. . ." Makato hid the letter away from his eyes balls and kept her fake smile on him until he left.

She decided to isolate herself from everyone to read the letter in private when she saw Ike's name on it. Makato sat on her bed excitedly and tear the letter open, slowly opening the tri-fold.

Take your time with your siblings while I take my time looking for a new Smasher if you know what I mean ;)
-Ike

'This is the response I get? Even when I miss him?' Makato smiled darkly and crumbled the letter up in a tight ball, then burning it with her hands from the anger of her dark side.

"I don't care. . . I don't care. . . We can be friends. Yes, friends. Who needs him . ." Makato got up from her bed and wiped her hands together, trying not to think and feel anger and jealousy. "Idontcareidontcareidontcare-"

She kept chanting those three words, as she packed her things into her potion-made suitcase that can be carried in her pocket.
