Walking down the street, Lincoln was licking some chocolate ice cream. He stopped when he noticed someone off to the side.

His clothes and face were dirty, and his hair was a complete mess, as if he wanted to scare everyone away. He sat on the side of the sidewalk on some cardboard as everyone ignored him.

Looking around first, he dug into his Inventory and pulled out valley bills—a bunch stacked being held together by an elastic band. Then, he walked over to the man.

There was once a time when Lincoln would ignore the homeless too, but that was when he didn't have his own money. Now, being rich, he couldn't live with himself if he ignored this man.

"Here," he said, handing them to the man. "This should help."

The man looked at the stack of bills for a moment before looking up at Lincoln like the child was insane.

He shook his head. "M-my boy, I can't take this."

"Take it." Lincoln edged it closer as he put on a smile. "I have more where that came from."

The homeless man took the money with shaky hands and hugged it to his chest. "What's your name?" he asked.

"Lincoln."

"I'm… Jones. Thank you," the man said, sounding like he was going to cry.

"Don't mention it," Lincoln replied with a bright smile before he walked off. He felt a little giddy inside but knew he couldn't just walk off.

When he turned the street corner, he walked into an alley and scaled the building next to him after he made sure no one was looking.

For the rest of that day, he watched over Jones. The man had bought himself some new clothes after a nice meal before he walked into an apartment building, not coming out for a while.

Lincoln was glad he did that and did not run to alcohol or Evan Medy's casino. That was one of two reasons he was watching over Jones. The other was to make sure he wouldn't be mugged.

At the end of that day, the man got a haircut and looked presentable. Since it was Fortune City, Lincoln knew the city wouldn't die down any time soon, and Jones would most likely be searching for a job. Good for him, he thought.
