A/N: Alright, I don't have an excuse. I'm just lazy.

After a night of fitful sleep Chloe and Aubrey awoke to the sound of Amy pounding on the door before just barging in while carrying their breakfast in her arms with a grin on her face. "Ello ladies, lovely morning isn't it?"

Chloe eyed the blonde suspiciously, she remembered the conversation she had with the captain last night and to her it seemed like Amy was just a little too chipper this morning. Amy walked across the room and set their food on the desk, whistling some tune that only she knew. "Breakfast is served."

Aubrey stood up from the bed and walked over to the desk, Chloe followed although a little reluctantly. She eyed the food on the desk before giving Amy a glare. "What did you do to it?"

Amy scoffed, "I have no idea what you're talking about." Her voice sounded like it went up half an octave as the blonde stood there, not leaving the cabin like she usually did. Aubrey glanced between the two, she wasn't entirely sure what was going on but she also wasn't the one who was working with the pirate yesterday. Maybe there was something going on between Chloe and Amy that she had missed while she watched Captain McKadden interrogate Captain Harris.

"Amy." Chloe leveled a stern look at the pirate. Amy's face twitched, the corners of her mouth flickering upward for several seconds but she didn't say anything. "What did you do to the food?"

"I didn't do nothin." Amy said, rocking back and forth on her feet. Now even Aubrey was scrutinizing the food with a more careful eye. It didn't look any different from their other breakfasts, just a couple of hardened biscuits, a few slices of ham and a jar presumably filled with honey and oranges. She reached out and opened the jar, pouring out a bit of the contents.

It was definitely not honey.

"Oh dear God!" Aubrey exclaimed. "What is that!?"

Chloe rushed over and looked inside the jar, only to recoil as the stench hit her nose like a cannonball. She stumbled back as her hand reflexively clamped over her nose to stop the putrid smell from assaulting her. Turning to the pirate Chloe glared the best she could with a hand covering her face. "Amy! What is that?"

"Tis nothin," Amy was struggling to maintain her composure. "Just a little fruit jelly mixed with fish innards."

Aubrey made a gagging noise and pushed the jar across the table. "Why on Earth would you ever make something like that?"

"What? It's good for ya," Amy gestured towards the jar. "Helps with loosening the bowls and all that."

Aubrey retched again, "That will not be necessary." She carefully replaced the stopper for the jar, desperate to not inhale any more of the noxious odor. "Please just take this away."

"Aww, are you sure?" Amy reached out and stuck a finger in the jar. The two girls watched in horror as the blonde pulled a chunk of the disgusting substance and popped it into her mouth. "It's rather tasty."

That was it, Aubrey stood up and rushed out of the cabin as quickly as she could. Chloe gave Amy a finale stern look before rushing out after her friend. The pirate devolved into a fit of laughter behind her as Chloe ran out into the sunlight. She lifted a hand to shade her eyes from the blinding light as she looked through the throng of crewmates, finally spotting Aubrey who was leaning over the railing. There were several men giving Aubrey confused looks and it took a bit of effort for Chloe to shove her way through and make it to Aubrey's side. She rubbed the blonde's back as Aubrey desperately tried to keep the contents of her stomach from making an appearance.

"It's okay Bree. Just relax."

Aubrey groaned before standing up. "Did you smell that bile? Why would anyone want to eat that garbage?"

"I don't know. These people are very strange." Chloe sent a glare at the small group still gawking at the girls.

"I want to go home Chloe," Aubrey said. It almost sounded like a whimper and Chloe had never heard her friend sound so pathetic. "I want to go home."

Chloe rubbed Aubrey's back some more. "I know sweety. I want to go home too." Only that didn't feel right. Surprisingly, Chloe found that she enjoyed getting to know this crew. Sure they were rather strange but that just made them more interesting to the redhead. But Chloe was used to the more relaxed atmosphere of the Caribbean, despite her mother's best efforts. Aubrey, meanwhile, was tailored and groomed for the high society of London. She was not used to burly seamen everywhere and she definitely didn't have Chloe's sense of wonderment. When they were children Chloe would always run around looking for new adventures while Aubrey tried to keep Chloe from flying off to who knows where. The two balanced each other and it made Chloe feel a little guilty that it took so long to notice her friend starting to slip.

"Don't you lot have some work to do?" Chloe jumped when she heard the captain behind them. Her arms were crossed and she was giving her crew a stern look which caused them to scurry away and return to their duties. McKadden turned to the two girls and let out an aggravated sight. "What did Amy do this time?"

Before Chloe could respond Aubrey stood up and spun around, "She tried to feed us some horrible concoction of," She shuddered and her face paled again, "fish jelly."

The captain schooled her features but Chloe could tell that she was desperately trying to not laugh. "Well, it's not the worst thing she's ever done. At least she didn't hide a beaver in the cabin again."

"Again?"

"That's a long story for another time." The pirate moved to the side and slumped against the railing. Her shoulders sagged and one could see dark circles forming around her eyes, clearly the woman was exhausted but she somehow managed to keep going.

Chloe noticed the pirate's demnor and she took a closer look at the captain. Aside from her slouched position the captain really didn't show her fatigue. In fact the only reason Chloe noticed was because she was an outsider, the crew probably didn't bat an eye to see their captain looking so tired. When she looked back at McKadden's face she saw that the captain was giving her an amused look, eyebrow raised and a hint of a smirk playing across her lips.

Chloe blushed and looked away, causing the captain to chuckle. Deciding not to acknowledge that she had been caught, Chloe turned back to Aubrey who was once again leaning over the railing. Suddenly an idea came to mind that might just help her friend. "Is there anywhere on board that we could freshen up?" The captain raised an eyebrow while Aubrey lifted her head. "It's just that we've been at sea for three days now without a bath."

McKadden seemed to consider Chloe's request before shrugging. "There's a small tub in the women's quarters. You'll have to use sea water and it will be cold."

"That will be fine, thank you." Chloe said while the captain looked over her shoulder and gestured to someone behind her.

"Jessica!" The blonde woman from yesterday came running over and gave the captain a small salute. "Don't do that. Could you show these ladies where the tub is below deck?"

"Aye captain." Jessica saluted again, to which the captain just rolled her eyes. "If you two would follow me."

She didn't wait for the pair to answer, instead she just turned around and walked towards the companionway leading to the lower decks. Chloe glanced at the captain who just shrugged and gestured for the girls to follow along. Hurrying to catch up, Chloe wrapped an arm around Aubrey's waist and pulled her after the retreating blonde.

Once they made their way down the stairs to the lower deck they found Jessica waiting for them. "This way ladies." She led them to the door that separated the crew quarters from the back of the ship. The pirate opened the door and gestured for Aubrey and Chloe to walk inside. The room wasn't that different from the crew quarters down the hall, there were several sleeping bunks along the wall as well as a few hammocks hanging in the middle of the room. While relatively cleaner than the male quarters there were still various bits of clothing and other oddities strewn across the room.

Each bunk was clearly tailored to a different crewmate and even though she didn't know them all, Chloe could point out which bunk belonged to who. One had various metal and wooden contraptions laying across the mattress, things that Flo would no doubt tinker with late into the night. Another bunk, the messiest of all, had scraps of food and what appeared to be a fuzzy toy of some sort that must have belonged to Amy. Two of the bunks looked almost identical, neatly made and clean. One of the hammocks had a lady's undergarments hanging over the side and Chloe took a wild guess that this was the doctor's while the other hammock had two wooden seagulls hanging over it.

Jessica pushed aside to the hammocks to reveal the back of the room. Tucked away in the corner was a small alcove that seemed to contain the tub. It was small, much smaller than the one Chloe was used to back home and she stopped to wonder how one was actually supposed to sit down in it.

"Pull this lever here to get the water flowing," Jessica pulled a lever that was connected to the wall and a spurt of water came from a pipe higher on the wall. "Flo and Stacie rigged this up, no idea how it works but it does." She turned and gestured to a small shelf on the opposite wall. "There's soap in there and obviously you'll have to take turns. When you're done just pull the little plug at the bottom." She bent over and pulled a small cork from the bottom of the tub.

She spun around, hopped in place and smiled at the girls. Chloe looked intrigued by the bathing contraption while Aubrey clearly had some reservations. But that wasn't Jessica's problem, she just pushed past the two and walked over to the door. "Don't touch any of Amy's things." With that she shut the door and left the two girls standing there very confused.

"These people are very strange." Aubrey whispered, too confused to disturb the quiet that suddenly washed over the room.

"How do you think this works?" Chloe, completely ignoring her friend's statement, was already pulling the lever and had a goofy grin running across her face as water came cascading from above.

Aubrey allowed a very unladylike roll of her eyes before grabbing Chloe's hand to stop the redhead from fiddling. "If you don't stop then it will break. And I doubt that they would take kindly to us breaking their things."

"Right, of course." Chloe doubted they would get in that much trouble but she didn't want to upset Aubrey any more than she already was. "Do you want to go first?"

"If that is alright with you." Aubrey started to strip off her shirt before stopping and glancing at Chloe. "Do you mind?"

Chloe snickered. "Bree, I've seen you naked before."

"Yes, when we were twelve." Aubrey turned her back to her friend. "Just because we're surrounded by barbarians doesn't mean we must act like them."

"Alright, alright, I'll leave you alone." Chloe turned around and walked to the door, purposely walking slowly. Just as she got it open she heard Aubrey quietly call out to her.

"Wait." Chloe turned around to see her friend looking rather bashful. "Just close the door and don't look."

The redhead just smiled knowingly as she shut the door and made her way over to one of the clean bunks while Aubrey finished stripping and stepped into the tub. She pulled the curtain and Chloe could hear when Aubrey jumped as the water hit her. "Dear lord, that is cold!"

"What did you expect? The captain said it would be." Chloe said as she absently looked around the room.

Aubrey groaned, "But this is the Caribbean not the Channel. It's supposed to be warm here."

Chloe just hummed quietly. "It's early in the morning, you have to wait a few hours before the water warms up. Plus we're out at sea so the water is probably colder here than on an island." Aubrey just made a dismissive noise and the two fell quiet again. Figuring the conversation was taking a strange turn Chloe tried to get back to the issue at hand. "What's going on Aubrey? A little fish guts wouldn't have sent you running four years ago. In fact I remember one time we went to the market and it took well over an hour of shifting through-"

"I get it."

"Then there was the time your brothers dared you to go swimming in the harbor, right where the fishermen cleaned and gutted their catch."

"What's your point Chloe?" Aubrey's voice sounded tense, like she really didn't want to have this conversation.

"My point is that I've never seen you react that badly to seafood."

"That wasn't food, that was chum. Garbage that should have been thrown overboard." Aubrey grumbled. Chloe could hear the lever being pulled again and the splash of water pouring from the pipe. "Shit that's cold!"

Chloe was shocked to hear her friend curse, Aubrey hardly ever let a foul word cross her lips so either the water was really cold or she was starting to get upset. Knowing Aubrey it was probably the latter. "All I'm saying is that it seems like there's something else going on besides fish guts."

She waited for a response but Aubrey remained silent. Several minutes passed with just the sound of splashing water, but Chloe was patient; she knew her friend was one to put up a good front. But the longer one waited the more likely they were to get a response from a Posen. Aubrey hated awkward silences, ever since they were little girls all Chloe had to do to get her friend to talk or spill a secret was to wait quietly and eventually Aubrey would break.

So Chloe waited, tapping her fingers along the wooden frame of the bunk and humming quietly to herself. To her surprise Aubrey managed to hold out for almost ten minutes before the blonde started grumbling to herself. "I really hate it when you do this."

"I know, but it's the fastest way to get you to talk." Chloe called back.

Aubrey was silent for another minute before the curtain was pulled back and she stepped out from behind it. Despite her aversion to nudity just a few minutes ago, Aubrey seemed to not even notice that she stood stark naked in front of her friend. Not that Chloe really noticed since she was too busy returning Aubrey's glare with her own smug expression. A range of emotions passed across the blonde's face while Chloe kept up the awkward silence.

It was almost humorous to watch the last bit of resolve break on Aubrey's face, only it was spoiled as her expression shifted from stoic to angry. "I am not supposed to be here."

That confused Chloe, "Of course you're not 'supposed' to be here, neither of us is supposed to be here. We were kidnapped, we didn't exactly have a choice in the matter."

"That's besides the point." Aubrey grabbed her clothes rather violently before yanking them on one limb at a time. "I am a Posen." She jerked her shirt down over her head causing her hair to go a little wild. She turned and looked Chloe in the eye, "We are always victorious. That means we never surrender to the enemy."

"Aubrey that wasn't your fault-"

"And what is worse, I was captured!" Aubrey started pacing around the room, running her fingers through her hair and pulling on the strands. "Captured by these filthy heathens to be used as a hostage so my father won't rain hellfire upon them once they're caught. Do you know what that means?"

"I don't-"

"It means that I am now the laughing stalk of the Posen family. The weak little girl that couldn't fend off a few pirates."

"I doubt anyone-"

"It's taken me years to get those wrinkly old bastards at court to see me as something other than a piece of meat to be married off to the highest bidder. And now?" Aubrey slumped down onto the bunk next to Chloe. "Now those miserable codgers are going to lord this over me forever."

"So you're worried about your reputation-"

"And my incompetent fool of a fiance couldn't do anthing to stop this." Just like that she was up and pacing again. "I managed to convince my father that he was a worthy match since he was an ambitious officer that was actually my age. But what happens when I actually need his help for once? Nothing!"

Chloe waited but it seemed like her friend was finally done ranting. "So you're upset because you think that you failed to defend yourself. And you're worried that it will reflect badly on you and your family?"

Aubrey didn't say anything, instead just running her fingers through her hair again. She didn't really need to say anything since Chloe knew how much importance the Posens placed on their public image. Honestly it was a bit of a shock that the two ever became friends to begin with, Chloe's adventurous spirit almost always got the two into shenanigans that neither of their mothers approved of. And as bad as Chloe's mother was Mrs. Posen was ten times worse.

"I know your mother is a little…strict." Chloe said cautiously. "But I always thought that your father was more lenient on that sort of stuff. He let you learn how to fence, didn't he?"

"That all ended the day I turned twenty." Aubrey abandoned tugging on her hair for just staring at the far wall. "Once I was old enough he stopped being so lenient and almost immediately started searching for a suiter. I'm just glad that I found Luke before my parents chose someone for me."

"He did seem nice. You know, for the five seconds I met him while we were being carried away." Chloe was pleased to see a small smile appear on her friend's face.

"Who cares if he's nice, he's a pushover." Aubrey chuckled. "I actually managed to find a man where I would be in charge of the relationship. You should have seen how he practically fell over himself to gain my favor."

Chloe studied her friend for a moment. Aubrey had always been a headstrong girl, always doing things her own way so it wasn't a surprise that the man she roped into marrying her was scared of her.

"Not that any of that matters anymore." Aubrey continued. "These people are never going to let us leave."

"Yes they will." Chloe rubbed her friends back comfortingly. "Once they get paid we'll be home free."

Aubrey scoffed, "They're pirates Chloe. There's nothing stopping them from just taking the money and then killing us. Or they could just rob our family's blind and not release us."

To Chloe that seemed like a highly unlikely outcome. Yes they were surrounded by pirates but these pirates had gone out of their way to free a ship full of slaves and hadn't even asked for anything in return. But that was a topic for another time.

"Well no matter what happens we will have each other." Chloe leaned in and gave her friend a hug. "As for your family, if any of them give you grief just point me in their direction and I'll show them a thing or two." She felt relieved when Aubrey gave a slight chuckle, it wasn't much but at least her friend wasn't about to explode over the side of the ship.

The two sat comfortably together for a few more minutes before finally separating. Chloe stood up and stretched out her back before pulling her shirt over her head and tossing it on the bed next to Aubrey. The blonde jerked to the side, briefly glancing at her friend before quickly looking away. "Couldn't you have warned me?"

Aubrey turned her back while Chloe stripped off the rest of her clothes. "For goodness sake Aubrey, we're both women. Everything I have you have as well and besides I really want to try out this device."

Aubrey huffed in response but still refused to look until after she heard the sound of Chloe pulling the curtain closed. It took a couple of pulls on the lever but Chloe got water to come out of the spigot in a few short, cold bursts that left her gasping. She suddenly missed the warm luxurious baths she grew up with. Although after a second round she realized that the water wasn't that bad, not exactly warm but definitely not as bad as Aubrey made it out to be. All the same Chloe tried to make it a short washing period since she didn't know how much time they had until someone came looking for them. After quickly scrubbing herself with the soap on the wall she pulled the lever one last time and made sure to clear the suds off her body before pulling back the curtain.

Just as the handle of the cabin door rattled and the captain walked into the room.

The two stood there staring at each other, both confused about what was going on. The captain's eyes glanced down for the briefest of moments before flying back up and refusing to look anywhere but the ceiling. "Um, I don't…I didn't mean to-"

Aubrey suddenly jumped up and put herself between the pirate and Chloe, glaring at the captain who was quickly turning bright red. "Don't you know how to knock!?"

"It's my ship." The pirate countered, still refusing to lower her gaze. "I'm not used to having to announce myself. Besides, you've seen how Stacie choses to dress herself, modesty flew out the window a long time ago on this ship."

"It's alright Miss McKadden." Chloe had managed to hastley throw on her clothes. While she wasn't usually embarrassed by nakedness even she would admit this was an awkward situation. Especially since she had noticed the captain's wayward glance just a minute ago. "Is there something we can do for you?"

"Uh, I was just going to see if you two were done." McKadden still refused to look away from the ceiling, "We're approaching Nassau."

The island of New Providence was steadily growing larger on the horizon as the leaders of the pirate crew congregated on the quarterdeck. They couldn't make out Nassau quite yet but it was only a matter of time before the ship was docked at the pirate capital. Meanwhile the captain and her crew were discussing plans for what was going to happen once they made it to port.

"I say they stay on the ship." Jessica said while leaning against the railing. "Nassau will chew them up and spit them out, it's no place for delicate little flowers." She jerked her thumb at Aubrey and Chloe who were standing together in the corner trying to not draw attention to themselves.

Despite feeling a little peeved at being called a "delicate flower", Chloe had to agree with the blonde pirate. The safest place for her and Aubrey would be to remain on board, out of sight of other pirates. But for some reason…

"Ah, they'll be alright. Everyone needs a little land lovin now and again," Amy draped her arm around Aubrey's shoulder, causing the girl to cringe and pull away. "Especially land lubbers like these two."

"Are you going to be the one to keep an eye on them, Amy?" The captain asked, looking over her shoulder from her spot at the helm. "You'll have to keep a close watch, which means no drinking."

It was rather humorous to watch Amy's face fall. "Uh…maybe they should stay on the ship."

"That's what I thought." The captain let go of the wheel and stepped aside, allowing Lilly to step forward and take the helm. She turned to the two captives, "How about we ask them what they want to do."

"Really?" Chloe was shocked that they would get a choice in the matter.

McKadden nodded, "You two weren't supposed to be here, it's only fair that you have some say in what you do." She looked at the rest of the assembled crew. "Anyone got a problem with that?" Several heads were shaken and a few nos were heard from the crew, which forced a smug grin from the captain. She turned back to the girls, "So what will it be? Admittedly staying on the ship probably would be safer but if you chose to go ashore then I swear no harm will come to you."

It was tempting, the adventurous part of Chloe wanted to at least see what Nassau was like. The more practical side of Chloe was screaming to stay on board the ship. They had already been kidnapped once, she didn't need that to happen again. Especially since kidnapping seemed like the least dangerous thing that could happen on this island.

"I'd like to-"

"We'll go ashore." Aubrey cut her friend off before she could finish her sentence. Confused, Chloe grabbed the blonde's shoulder and gave her a look. Aubrey returned the look but hers was more desperate, silently pleading for Chloe to follow along.

She wasn't sure what Aubrey had planned but Chloe trusted her friend. "I'd like to go ashore as well. It would be nice to get off the ship for a while."

The captain's eyes narrowed as she looked between the two, clearly suspicious of what just happened. But she just shrugged her shoulders and turned back to the helm, "Have it your way."

The crew started chatting among themselves while Chloe pulled Aubrey to the side, "What was that about? I thought you would have wanted to stay as far away from other pirates as possible."

"I'll explain once we're on land," Aubrey glanced at the people around them. No one was paying the girls any attention, except for Lilly's parrot. The little red bird seemed to be watching them closely, it was very unnerving.

Chloe didn't know what Aubrey had planned but she had a bad feeling about it. It was probably an escape attempt, that would be just like Aubrey to be proactive, even if her plan wasn't thought out all the way. Like how if they could get away from this crew they would still be surrounded by hundreds of other pirates, and Chloe doubted that other pirates would treat them as fairly as Captain McKadden had. She would see soon enough though as the island was now directly in front of them, a small dock jutted out from the mainland just waiting for the ship.

"All right boys!" The captain's voice rang out across the ship. "We're coming into port, you know what to do!"

A cheer went up from the crew before a voice started singing loud and clear across the deck that was joined by the others on every other line.

I dreamed a dream the other night

Lowlands, lowlands away, me John

My love, she came, dressed all in white

Lowlands away

The girls on the quarter deck added their voices to the shanty and Chloe was shocked by how good they sounded, they harmonized together beautifully.

I dreamed my love came in my sleep

Lowlands, lowlands away, me John

Her cheeks were wet, her eyes did weep

Lowlands away

While the crew sang they moved with a will. The sails flew up to their yardarm and into the waiting arms of the pirates that tied ropes and stored the sheets. With the sails stowed the ship lost most of its speed.

Then I awoke to hear the cry

Lowlands, lowlands away, me John

Oh, watch on deck, oh watch, ahoy!

Lowlands away.

As the song ended the ship grated against the dock with the sound of wood scraping against wood. Several crewmates were quick to jump overboard and land on the dock, catching the spring lines thrown to them from those still on board. In quick fashion the ship was secured to the dock and the crew let out a loud cheer.

"HOLD!" Some of the crew had rushed to the railing and were about to jump overboard before the captain yelled her order. "You lot can get to the bars and brothels after everything has been checked and stowed!" The entire crew groaned but went back to their stations, a few rushing to get their jobs done so they could get to town faster.

Chloe chuckled at the crew's reactions but ignored them to look out across the port to the town. Even from this distance she could hear the sounds of revelry, shouts and cheers carried easily across the water to the pirate ship. From here it was hard to make out but if she squinted her eyes Chloe could just make out a few stumbling forms shambling through the streets.

Her view was blocked by another ship sliding into port next to them. It was the slave ship that the pirates had captured and there was a person waving from the quarterdeck.

"HEYYY!" Stacie stood on top of the railing waving like a maniac with a massive grin across her face…and no shirt.

"What is wrong with that woman?" Aubrey asked. Chloe glanced at her friend to see the blonde covering her face with her hand, probably so she didn't have to look at the pirate. Although, if Chloe looked close enough it seemed like there was a hint of blush peeking out from beneath her hand.

"Stacie has always been a little eccentric," Ashley commented from beside them. "Although I don't know why she never wears a shirt." Stacie continued waving until her ship was tied to the dock, after which she leapt off the railing and landed with a role.

"Don't just run off!" They could hear Cynthia shouting from the helm. "We've got stuff to do!"

"Oh calm down," Stacie called back. "I'm just stretching my tits, I'll be right back." The woman sauntered her way across the dock before climbing the gangplank that was lowered for her arrival. The tall brunette made her way to the quarterdeck, shifting her gaze from each person before settling on McKadden. She gave a cheeky grin while saluting, "Reporting for duty captain."

Mckadden groaned, "Will you cut it out with the salutes? Or at least put on a shirt."

"Nope," Stacie looked over at Aubrey and shot her a wink. "I'm having too much fun."

Aubrey immediately turned her back and walked past Chloe to stare out to sea, ignoring any further provocation from the pirate. Chloe adopted an amused, yet confused grin as she turned her attention to the captain.

"What's the condition on the slave ship?" McKadden asked.

Stacie grinned again, "Everyone seems to be doing well. They're still a little malnourished but it's amazing what proper food will do."

The captain nodded her head, clearly pleased to hear that. "Good, we can try selling the ship and use the profits to help the people get to where they want to go."

"Exactly what I was thinking." The group turned as Cynthia made her way up the stairs. "But how do you plan on getting those people back home?"

"There are plenty of smugglers here that sail back and forth to Africa. I'm sure we can find someone willing to ship a few former slaves." The captain shrugged like it was no big deal.

Cynthia nodded but tilted her head before asking, "And if they decide to take our money just to turn around and sell those people to slavers?"

The captain straightened, "I think my reputation ought to keep them honest. Only a fool would dare to double cross the Bloody Bitch."

There was that nickname again. Chloe remembered the slaver calling McKadden that and it made her wonder how she earned it. From what she had seen the captain was a rather pleasant person. But then again Chloe hadn't really seen the full extent of McKadden's personality, only the way she interacted with her crew. But she did seem more than willing to toture the slaver when he refused to talk.

'Maybe Aubrey is right,' Chloe thought. 'We really don't know anything about them.'

"Captain!" A crewmate that Chloe recognized as Gibbs came rushing up the stairs with an eager expression on his face. "Everythin's all stored and stuff. So is it all right to," He jerked his thumb to the town. "You know?"

The captain rolled her eyes but made a shooing motion with her hand. "Yeah, yeah go have fun." Gibbs let out a cheer before running back down the stairs, the rest of the crew following him over the gangplanks. McKadden chuckled at her crew "Bunch of horny idiots that lot."

Chloe and Aubrey cringed at that implication, neither really looking forward to the seedier side of this island. Although, every side of a pirate stronghold was probably seedy. It made Chloe wonder what the city was actually like, and despite her reservations she couldn't help but feel a little excited. She was drawn back to reality as the captain started giving orders.

"Jess and Ash, I want you two to go talk to Charlie. See if he has enough ammo to replace what we used back in Kingston." McKadden looked at the two girls who nodded and left the quarterdeck. "Amy?"

The cook straightened and saluted the captain, "Aye Sir!"

"You'd you all stop doing that." McKadden grumbled while pinching the bridge of her nose. "Just go to the market and restock our food supplies."

"Uhh…"

"Once you're done then you can go drinking with the rest of the crew." The captain reassured the blonde who pumped her fist in the air.

"Yes." Amy did a weird little dance by hopping from foot to foot. "Finally." The blonde rushed down the stairs and was off the ship before anyone could react.

"How come she only moves that fast when rum is involved?" Cynthia asked but no one had an answer for her.

"Anyways," McKadden shifted her gaze to the two captives. "You two said you wanted to see the city but there's going to be some rules. First, don't even think of leaving my side. I can't protect you if I don't know where you are. Second, don't talk to anyone. You might think that all pirates are just illiterate heathens but you're wrong, these are some of the most diabolical people on the planet. If they found out who the two of you are then it will be hell to pay getting you back to the ship. And finally, do not try to escape." She leveled a glare at Aubrey. "The only reason I'm allowing you off the ship is because you're not supposed to be here in the first place. Do you understand?"

The girls nodded their heads and the captain seemed to relax a little. "Very well then," She spun around and called back over her shoulder. "Welcome to Nassau."

Fun Fact: The closest thing to modern showers was invented in 1767 and they definitely were not used on ships. So apologies for the anachronism. Most pirates didn't care about their personal grooming and really only got clean when it was raining.
