"Mum?" Lia asked walking out into reception to see her mother sat in a chair next to the desk.

"Hiya sweetie," Carla smiled standing up, "I managed to get you into the dentist, there was a slot opened for your tooth."

Lia smirked slightly, "Oh thank you mum," She began holding her hand up to her mouth, "It's just been so painful all morning, I mean it feels like I'm being stabbed in the mouth constantly."

Carla sighed with a slight smile towards her daughter, "Right well lets get you to this appointment," Carla nodded putting her arm around her daughters shoulder and nodding to the receptionists, "Thank you."

The receptionist smiled back as the pair walked out of the door and out into the car park.

"Oh mum I'm so glad you could get me in, I mean the pain is just dreadful!" Lia exaggerated with a huge smile.

"Alright you can quit the dramatics now, thanks," Carla quipped back.

"Your ground rules didn't last very long did they?" Lia smirked.

"I thought it was be nice to spend some time together," Carla explained.

"Oh have you missed me?" Lia grinned.

"You do know I could just as easily take you back," Carla retorted getting into the car as he daughter did at the same time.

"Er no! I am in need of a mother daughter morning just a bit more than I need double English," Lia shook her head.

"Right well just know, this is only happening this once, okay?" Carla reminded her daughter as she started the car engine and reversed out of the car park.

"Mhm," Her daughter agreed smiling as the pair set off.

Not long after, Carla came walking up to the table where her daughter was sat and placed two coffees down in front of them as Lia placed her phone down on the table.

"There we are," Carla smiled taking a seat opposite her daughter.

"How come we came here and not Roy's?" Lia asked bring her cup closer towards her.

"I thought it would be a nice change, get away from the street for an hour," Carla explained.

"Mum, don't get mad when I ask this," Lia started, "But what's actually going on, first you pick me up for some 'mother, daughter time' in the middle of school, then we go to a random coffee shop in the middle of town instead of just going back home or to Roy's, and then Chelle texts me asking if we're okay and if your phone is on."

Carla sighed slightly looking down at her coffee before beginning, "I wanted to be truthful with you and I figured if I didn't do it right now I'd chicken out and I'd leave you not knowing a thing. I've had the police around this morning, they were asking whether anyone saw me leave Tina's flat-"

"Yeah Tracy did, didn't she?" Lia nodded.

"She did, but that's not what she told the police," Carla continued, "She's told the police she didn't see me leaving the flat."

"What?" Lia scoffed, "Why would she say that?"

"I don't know darling, its Tracy, she's twisted and maybe this is just a bit of fun for her but she swears blind she never saw me, even through her smirk that was plastered on her face."

"Have you told Rob?" Lia asked.

"Yeah but that doesn't matter at the minute," Carla shook her head before continuing, "That's not the main issue right now...I didn't tell you the full truth yesterday when I was at the station. It's not as positive and fine as I made out. The police...they've found a strand of my hair on the balcony where tina was pushed, and this on top of my obvious motive and the fact I attacked her doesn't make it look very good for me. Tracy revoking my alibi, I'm scared that was the last straw."

"What does that mean?" Lia asked fear spreading into her face.

"It means that I'm scared that I might go down for this if Tina's real attacker is not found soon," Carla replied as she watched her daughter's face drop in horror.

"No!" Lia protested, "No you can't!"

"I know sweetie, I know. And I wasn't going to tell you this but I want you to know because I don't want to hide anything from you. And I know its hard but keeping you in the dark would only make it harder," Carla continued.

Lia sat there in silence she looked longingly at her mother before staring down at her cup and mumbled something, "It's not like definite though is it, like there's still a chance the police just move past you."

"Yes sweetheart of course," Carla nodded taking her daughters hands and smiling slightly, "We just need to hope they find the real attacker don't we, and that Tina wakes up soon."

"Thank you for telling me, you know, not treating me like a child and all that," Lia whispered with a small smile.

"I always promised to tell you everything and I meant every word of that promise," Carla stated before squeezing her daughters hand, "Right I recon we need cheering up a bit so why don't we finish these then go on a little shopping spree, what do you recon?"

"I'd love that," Lia smiled her voice breaking ever so slightly.

It had been a few hours since Carla and Lia's conversation in the cafe and they had finally pulled up outside of the flat after shopping in town.

"Grab them bags out the boot for me babe," Carla asked as they both got out of the car.

"What'd your last servant die of?" Lia rolled her eyes.

"Not getting my bags out the boot," Carla joked as Lia mimicked a laugh and lifted the boot.

"Er Carla!" Ken called from just outside the Rovers lifting his hand up to signal his want for a conversation.

"I'll just be a minute Lia," Carla explained taking her key out the door and pushing the door open.

"Oh mum," Lia whined, "It'll only be about Peter."

"No I know but I saw him going off in a taxi early," Carla continued.

"He's not your problem anymore mum," Lia reminded the woman.

"I know, I know," Carla nodded tapping her daughter's shoulder, "I'll only be ten minutes tops, go put a film on and open the chocolates I'll be back."

"Whatever," Lia rolled her eyes pushing herself through the doorway with the multiple bags on her wrists.

Carla saw her daughter in then crossed the street to meet Ken outside of the pub.

"Alright Ken," Carla greeted him crossing her arms and resting them on her bump that had started to slightly show.

"Hiya Carla, sorry to bother," Ken smiled.

"No don't worry about it, what's up?" Carla smiled back.

"Well it's just about Peter," Ken started.

"Ken-"

"No I know he's not really your favourite person right now, but I just wanted to let you know that Peter has been sent to rehab this morning," Ken explained.

"Oh right okay," Carla mused.

"He wanted me to let you know that he knows he's done wrong and he is trying to make himself better for the baby," Ken began, "But he also wanted me to add that he will respect your wishes if you don't want to see him."

"Right okay well tell him thanks," Carla nodded and went to walk off before stopping herself and catching Ken's arm to stop him, "Ken, do the police not need to see him?"

"They have his passport so they've said if they need him they'll go to the rehab and he's all fine to go," Ken explained.

"Alright, see you later Ken," Carla gave him a short smile before pushing the doors to the Rovers open.

"There you are," Michelle announced putting a pint down in front of Kevin.

"I know, I know, I'm sorry I didn't answer. I just needed a minute," Carla excused as she walked over to the bar.

"It's a good job Lia answers her phone," Michelle answered before putting her hands on top of her friends, "Are you okay?"

"Aha, I just wanted to tell Lia before I chickened out," Carla told her friend as she nodded sympathetically.

"It'll be fine darling, I'm sure of it," Michelle assured her as she watched Rob get up from his seat in her view.

"Hey sis," Rob eased leaning against the bar next to her.

"Oh hello, you wanna come talk to me now," Carla sniped.

"Sorry about earlier, it was just a shock, I didn't mean anything by it," Rob apologised.

"Yeah well its good job I've got a thick skin innit," Carla rolled her eyes, "Anyway I don't really need to be falling out with anyone right now do I, so I suppose I accept your apology."

"Ah I knew you would sis, I love you," Rob grinned as Michelle chuckled at the pair as Carla joking fought of his hug.

"Right anyway I've got to get back to Lia, I've promised I'll watch a film with her," Carla smiled slightly.

"How did she take it?" Michelle asked.

"She's putting on a brave face," Carla commented as they sat in silence for a moment, "Right I'm off, see yous later."

"See you," Michelle and Rob smiled as they waved her off and she walked out the pub.
