Mobius sticks around for a bit longer and notices how terribly the Mobius from the other timeline is treating his two kids. He is horrified. "That isn't me, that can't be me. It just doesn't feel right." He goes outside and finds Sylvie waiting.
"Sylvie, something is wrong here."
"I know."
"You know?"
"Mobius, I've noticed something was wrong ever since me and Loki ran into He Who Remains. Or perhaps even earlier. Well, it's complicated."
"What else was wrong that I haven't noticed? I'm usually pretty good at picking up on all the subtle cues. It's what makes me a good interrogator."
"Yup and this is the problem. You were all losing your ability to face Truth, that you were losing yourselves to a false self, a delusion that you're still the same you. Yet every time I tried bringing the issue up, I had the weirdest feeling of deja vu. As if…nevermind. I'm not going to elaborate on those memories."
"Why didn't you say something?"
"How could I? We'll just relive the past that no one else but me remembers all over again. I had to pretend until it was time enough for you to see how messed up this situation was, so you can have the ability to believe me without putting me in danger."
"Sylvie, what happened in the past?"
"For you, only one way to find out. The past is in you too, and right now I'm one out of the two who's able to pull up that forbidden past. Then you'll be free to be your old self, your true self. Ready? Enchant."
"Holy shit. None of this is real. How am I still alive? But then what is this?"
"An alternate reality."
"How do we get back?"
"Well that's another can of worms. First we need to figure out what happened and who is reliable. I know the Loki of this world has already been overtaken by whoever wrote the rules of this reality."
"He did become extremely knowledgeable in the span of a second."
"Yes and no one batted an eye or questioned him."
"How could I have not seen this? Wait, I'm guessing you can enchant him too and free him?"
"Loki can be saved just like I did you. We just need to pay him a visit. Difficult for now, but if we get people onboard we can do it. We can enchant all the people we need to help us."
"Great!"
"There's just one problem Mobius."
"Okay…tell me."
"Remember how I said we are stuck in an alternate universe? Well you, Ravonna, Timely, O.B., everyone male and female, I've realized they're all incarnations of the real God."
"I don't quite understand yet, but keep going."
"Well after dying so much and having retained in some form an awareness of memories, I've reached the state of nothingness. And what I now know is that it's true the universe formed out of a state of Nothingness, the zero state. Here, I wrote a journal to cope with life, read this page."
What is consciousness and where does it come from? Don't overthink, the answer you seek you've known all along. One could say consciousness is to exist. You don't need to justify your existence…you know you exist. But if you exist, what led to your existence? If to exist is a consciousness, then we could hypothesise that anything that exists is a consciousness. Even if you can't detect with human senses, modern science shows otherwise. If formerly presumed to be consciousness-lacking babies, animals, and plants have exhibited consciousness all this time, what else has consciousness we have yet to discover? Particles? Amalgamations? Everything? Nothing? And if to exist is to have consciousness, isn't the state of nothing an existence too by being itself?
In the beginning, there was nothing, a 0 state of existence. But by the train of logic so far, the 0 state of existence, the progenitor, had to have a consciousness and as a consciousness it had a will and a capacity to choose a will so that each consciousness that exists in the past, present, and future would be born with the same will and the capacity to choose, the set of attributes to pass on from a parent to a child. One could say that you cannot generate anything from absolutely nothing, unless there was something already present to activate the process of generation. And you could say that whatever you generate from the source material, the product will carry on the source material's core attributes, attributes that aid in creation. If you still have doubts, just know, you may be thinking this is impossible yet you do understand. The reason you understand is simple: it is Truth; and Truth is inside of you; and Truth is you; and Truth is God. Your thinking was a result of denial, of knowing yet ignoring what you know.
"Do you know what this means Mobius?"
"God exists as a consciousness and my consciousness is testament to that fact."
"More than that. Mobius, if God is Nothing, the one thing that cannot be destroyed, God is equivalent to Truth. If the Nothing is Truth, then the true reality of the world is an empty void that contains everything. We are simply representations of the concept of the Truth. The zero state, the Nothing, willed the world we live in into existence, and we are part of Everything. Doesn't make us fake, but we are not as real as we think we are, or perhaps more so in the way we think we are. We are representations of a reality that Truth has created, the singularity and duality, the Nothing and Everything, the feminine and the masculine, the chaos and the order. What happens when this alternate universe is escaped from Mobius?"
"I don't know."
"I know. We all collapse back into the people we split away from. The embodiments of Nothing and Everything. Me and Loki. Well not even me and Loki anymore. Just the daughter of the Nothing and the son of the Everything. If me and Loki can reunite on good terms in an iteration, then we can all escape from this alternate universe, and the true us can create a perfect world again, free from suffering. We can protect that world for a very long time."
"What about this world? What about me?"
"Mobius you'll still exist, just like how I'll still exist. Only, your consciousness would become part of the amalgamation of the son of Everything. It's not much different than how you are now, you're already an amalgamation of the consciousnesses of the cells in your body."
"Okay. In that case, we'll find a way to reach Loki."
Sylvie and Mobius go back to the TVA. They enchant O.B. who opens the gate to the Temporal Loom. Loki is willingly trapped inside the tree of time but Sylvie has a plan to reach him. She takes out her journal, and has Mobius and O.B. read the journal of her love towards Loki from the intercom, while she waits at the tree. In a moment of being touched by Sylvie's words, Loki parts away a few of the branches to find Sylvie on the door of the dock. Loki smiles, crying. He paves a bridge to the tree for Sylvie. Sylvie visits Loki. Sylvie thanks Loki for all that he's done and they kiss. The alternate universe is broken out of. It's still Sylvie and Loki in the real world, separated by a distance, yet not so far. However, their names are now Dove and Josh. They remember everything that happened in the alternate universe, as well as their life in the real world. It's summer time, in a simple village surrounded by water.
And with tremendous loss I passed onto you-
"The consciousness that is in a simple village surrounded by water." said Dove.
So that's what you meant when you laid down the paths that created the written language of my people. We've both died horribly an infinite number of iterations to get to this point, throughout history, throughout time. But now we're finally free. Everyone is free.
In the sky, Josh flies down to greet Dove, who senses his presence and looks up.
There is a saying that our stories lay down the paths for our future so that our future becomes a metaphor for our past and present stories. Our outcomes are predetermined by our moral choices as outlined in our stories.
Does the future influence the past through fate or does the past influence the future through choice? Neither when alone but both when together. The past, present, and future are interconnected such that time influences itself like a neural network.
One observation is the closer to Truth a story is, the more likely the story is welcomed by the people. It seems people naturally gravitate towards the Truth. And if Truth and God are the same, does God predetermine the future, or do we determine the future through the stories and choices we create? Well if the saying God eternal within the body is true, then both statements are true. Our will and God's will are one and the same.
So let's create a story and then let the people reveal how close to the Truth we are. Will we be going down this path, or will an alternative path be laid? Your choice based on your enjoyment of this story, based on your belief.
