WARNING: THIS FANFICTION CONTAINS DRINKING, HEAVY DRUG USE/ADDICTION AND LATER ON, LEMONS. READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION.
A/N: This fic is about how Kagome ends up addicted to something serious. It's about how she deals with it and how her friends, family and especially Inuyasha can help her get better. This is not meant to shine drugs in a positive light. It's a serious topic that I am going to go over using Kagome. Thank you for taking the time to check out my story. Don't forget to review and let me know what you think! Thanks again.
Also, I will post one chapter a week, each Friday.
Addiction
Chapter One
Kagome came back from the Feudal Era after having to 'sit' the stubborn hanyou into hell. She was fuming as she walked through the front door and slammed it behind her.
"Baka. How dare he constantly tell me what I can and can't do!?"
She walked into the kitchen and slammed her oversized yellow bag down on the kitchen counter. She glanced over at the drawer in the corner of the room where she knew gramps stored his alcohol.
Kagome never drank in her life. She never did anything that a normal teenager would have at least been curious about. She shook her head at the thoughts invading her brain. Why did she all of a sudden feel the desire to drink? It's not like her and Inuyasha got into a terrible fight. It was just a stupid argument.
Yet, she felt insanely angry. She didn't understand why. Maybe her love growing for him while he doesn't reciprocate is getting to her. Maybe the constant bickering and constant 'sitting' and his name calling and controlling, is getting to be too much.
She absentmindedly walked over to the corner of the kitchen and opened the cabinet that kept the alcohol. She pulled a bottle out and read it. It was just normal Sake. Nothing too powerful. She examined the bottle and then reluctantly put it back. What was she thinking? Let alone being sixteen, much too young to drink, she was also in her mother's house! Which she didn't realize until now, no one seemed to be home.
"Mom?" Kagome peeked her head out of the kitchen and into the living room and saw no one. Confused, she walked back to the kitchen counter and saw a small note sitting there. She picked it up absentmindedly and began to read it.
Kagome,
Gramps, Souta and I will be away for the weekend. Don't worry, we'll be back on Monday.
Love Mom xoxoxo
Kagome crumpled up the paper and threw it in the garbage. She looked over at the calander and saw that it was Friday. Her family wouldn't be home for another few days. She sighed to herself. Partly relieved at the alone time but also a little sad to be away from Inuyasha.
Her fists clenched angrily to her sides and her face turned into a pissed off scowl. How could she think about that baka for another minute? She glanced back over at the cabinet with the Sake in it and stomped over to it. She pulled the door open angrily and grabbed the large bottle.
Kagome examined it again, then looked around to make sure there was actually no one there. She then hightailed it out of the kitchen and up the stairs into her bedroom. She closed and locked the door before going to her usually unlocked window and then locking it and closing the curtains.
She sat on her bed and opened the bottle. She sniffed it and backed her face away in disgust. How do people stand this stuff? It smelled terrible!
Kagome warily put the bottle up to her lips and took a small sip. It didn't taste as bad as it smelled but it wasn't great either. The truth is, she doesn't really want to drink, she just wants to forget for a little while. She wants to forget about the petty arguments, about her love for Inuyasha that will never be returned. She wants to forget about school and her friends that she can never trully confide in because they can't know the truth. She wants to forget the stupid jewel and Naraku and all the destruction it all caused because of her own stupidity. About Kikyo.. She wants it all out of her mind for just one night.
With that thought, Kagome lifted the bottle back to her lips and decided to take a large swig. After swallowing, she coughed and shook her head at the burning sensation she felt. To be honest, it wasn't bad, just a little weird.
She took another large gulp and found that it started to become easier to handle. She chugged it for a minute and then looked at the half empty bottle. When did she drink so much? She had no idea. But she was enjoying the new sensation it was giving her. She sat the bottle down on her nightstand and stood up on wobbly feet. She went into the bathroom to take care of some personal needs before swaying back into her room and picking the bottle back up.
Kagome took another swig and then realized how hot she felt. She figured it was just from being drunk, so she decided to go outside for some fresh air.
-
Kagome has been walking for Kami knows how long before realizing she had no idea where she was. She looked around dazed and confused. The alcohol clouding her judgement causing her to walk down a dark alleyway.
"Hey, there baby." A deep voice spoke directly through her. She froze in her spot, daring herself to turn around.
A large hand grabbed her on her right shoulder but didn't squeeze hard. Just enough to turn her around to face him.
"What is a pretty thing like you doing in these parts?"
Not knowing exactly what to say and the drunkin fog getting to her, she just spit out, "I'm lost." She figured that wasn't too smart to admit but at the moment pretty much all of her inhibitions were gone.
The man stepped closer to her, looking down her body and back up to her eyes. "Well, I see you've been drinking. Do you maybe want something a little stronger?" He pulled a baggie from his pocket that contained a sort of white powdery substance. He started to hand it to her but she backed up.
"I.. don't do drugs." She managed to slur out.
He smiled down at her as he reached in his other pocket and pulled out a glass device. He opened the baggie and pulled a small amount of the powder out and placed it in the weird looking contraption. Then he grabbed a lighter that was clipped to his belt loop and put it up to the bowl. He put it to his mouth as he lit up the substance.
Kagome backed away slightly, not really sure what to do. She was too drunk to run and also admittedly a little curious.
He took a long hard pull of the drug before blowing it in Kagome's face. She waved her hands in the air trying to get rid of the smoke while simultaneously coughing.
The strange man closed the distance between them and put the bowl and lighter in her hand.
"My name is Haruto. What's yours?"
Kagome looked down at the new substance in her hand with a quizzical expression. Without thinking, she responded. "Kagome."
He put the small baggie he had just used back into his front pocket and then took a rather large baggie out of his back pocket. He reached forward and put it into the top of Kagome's shirt.
"Well Kagome, why don't you try to relax with this? I'll even give it to you for free and if you decide you like it, come back and I'll hook you up.. for a small price."
She looked back down at the items in her hand and then the bag filled with white powder sticking out of her bra. She looked back up into the dark brown eyes of the man in front of her.
"Wh-What is it?"
He snickered softly at her innocence before responding. "Heroin."
Kagome's eyes went wide in shock. She never imagined being this close to something like that. Then a thought struck her.
"I.. I thought Heroin was a liquid that you needed to use a needle for." She tried her hardest not to slurr, but it was definitely obvious she was drunk.
He smiled down at her and nodded. "That's one form. But that is much too tame. Too Diluted. This is waaayy better." He took her hand and enclosed her fingers around the bowl and lighter before speaking again. "Trust me. You'll forget about all your problems when you try it."
Kagome looked back at the items in her possession. She found herself nodding her head and then putting the items in her bra along with the bag of Heroin.
"That's a good girl. Now don't forget to come back here when you need more."
"I.. I don't really know where I am."
"Where do you live?"
Kagome hesitated a minute but with her head fogged over and her inhibitions glazed, she found herself saying, "The Higurashi Shrine."
He smiled at her again before saying, "Well, that's only an hour walk that way." He walked her out of the alleyway and onto the sidewalk and then pointed down the road. "It's straight ahead. No turns or anything. Would you like me to walk you home?"
Kagome thought for a moment. This guy didn't seem all that bad but she was still drunk and nervous. She didn't want him to try and seduce her or anything. She at least could think about that while in this state.
"Um.. No thanks. I can walk." She started to walk away before she turned to say one last thing. "Thank you, Haruto."
He waved his goodbyes before heading back to the alley where his customers were waiting.
-
Kagome made it to the shrine steps about an hour and a half later. She's been slowly taking swigs of the rest of the bottle, so she is still fairly drunk and the bottle was mostly empty.
She walked up the steps, trying not to lose her balance. She finally made it to the top and opened the door. She closed and locked it behind her before making her way to her bedroom. She was exhausted. The stress was getting to her and the long walk along with being plastered has really worn her out.
She sat on the edge of her bed and looked at the clock. Her eyes practically bugged out of her head when she saw it was already two in the morning.
She decided to get dressed into some more comfortable clothes. She pulled off her shirt and some items fell to the floor by her bed. She looked down at the strange things on the floor for a second before bending down and picking them up. She had almost forgotten about the nice guy and the gift he gave her.
Still in her skirt and bra, she sat down on the edge of the bed. She took the last swig of Sake before shoving the empty bottle underneath her bed. Then she payed attention to the foreign items in her possession.
She lightly stroked the side of the glass bowl and fiddled with the lighter. She opened the bag of Heroin and loaded it into the bowl the same way she saw Haruto do it.
"Is this really a good idea?" She looked back at the items and then thought about what that man said.
"You'll forget about all your problems when you try it."
She shrugged her shoulders. "It's just for one night." She obviously knew that most drugs were addictive, but with being drunk along with feeling like something like that could never happen to her, she threw that problem right out the window.
Kagome put the pipe up to her mouth as she lit the white powder with the lighter. She took a pull of the drug before having to stop and cough like crazy. Her eyes opened wide as she felt a hot tingling sensation shoot throughout her entire body. All of a sudden, she felt happy and free. She feels an incredible rush that she could barely describe. She just knows it feels amazing.
After about fifteen to twenty minutes, the rush was gone and she was feeling drowsy and disappointed. Her head was extremely clouded. She put the pipe back to her mouth and took a bigger hit the second time. Her pupils became dilated and her mouth turned into a crooked smile. She shoved the peraphernalia into her side table drawer and covered the items with a book.
She began to really enjoy the flush her body had and the way her worries completely disappeared. She couldn't seem to stop smiling. Once the rush again began to wear off, she fell to her back on the mattress. She felt kind of nauseous and dizzy but also relaxed and happy. Her heart rate slowed exponentially as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling in her body and mind. Her brain felt like it was wrapped in a vail and hidden from the outside world. Her body was still hot and started to drip in sweat but she loved it. Before she knew it, she had passed out from everything that happened that day.
A/N: Thanks for reading! This is the first chapter to 'Addiction'. I hope you keep reading and enjoy how I write Kagome's experience with drugs.
