Chapter 79

Sorry for the delay! I went on vacation. I had this chapter done before I left, but when I came home and reread it, I didn't like it. I still don't know if it's quite right, but this is as good as it's going to get lol I feel like I'm getting stuck again with this story. I know what I want to write, but I just can't seem to get my thoughts out how I want them. I really don't want to stop writing again! Are you all still enjoying the story? Please leave me some reviews and let me know! I could use the motivation :) Hope you enjoy!

All Hanna could think about since yesterday was Emma's vision. She was trying to get it out of her head, but she couldn't. She purposefully took her time getting ready for school today and was now sitting on her bed, just waiting for someone to yell up at her to come downstairs. She wanted to avoid being around her parents any longer than she absolutely had to. She was finding it harder to keep Emma's secret this time, and she knew if she was with them too long, they would notice she was hiding something.

"Hanna, let's go," David called out. "Your breakfast is getting cold."

"Coming!" Hanna got up from her bed, made her way down the stairs, and sat at the table beside her mom.

"Did you go back to sleep after I woke you?" Snow asked.

"Uh…yeah," Hanna lied.

"You can't keep doing that, Hanna," David said.

"I know…"

David set a plate down in front of her. "Eat please."

"Okay." Hanna picked up her fork.

"I'm so glad you got to spend the day with your sister yesterday," Snow said.

Hanna froze. She felt her heart start to race. Why was her mom brining up Emma? Did she know something? Hanna quickly realized she needed to relax. Her mom was just making conversation. "Me too. We had a lot of fun."

"I'm glad you managed to get her to finish all of that paperwork," David said. "You're going to have to come by the station more often."

"Yeah I don't know about that…" Hanna looked up at her dad and grinned. "Maybe if you start paying me."

"I'll have to see if we have room in the budget," David told her with a wink.

"So are you done thinking your sister is avoiding you?" Snow asked.

"Mhmm…" Hanna popped a bite of pancake into her mouth. Why did they have to keep talking about Emma? Hanna slowly started to chew as the truth of what was going on with Emma came flooding back. Hanna focused on the pancake in her mouth, so the tears that were about to fill her eyes would go away. Hanna took another bite and was able to pull herself together.

"We told you she just had a lot going on," David said.

Hanna nodded. "Uh, yeah…you guys were right. We talked all about it. Everything is fine now." Hanna put another piece into her mouth, but she couldn't even taste it anymore.

"Good." Snow cleared her plate from the table, then picked Neal up from his highchair. She looked to David. "Are you okay to take him to daycare today?"

"Yup." David took Neal from Snow, and put him in his carseat. "All set little man?"

"Hanna, are you almost finished? We need to get to school."

"Yeah, I'm done." Hanna took her plate to the sink, then she walked over to her brother. "Bye buddy." She reached out for his hand and gave it a kiss. "I'll see you later."

"Have a good day at school." David wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close.

"Thanks, Dad."

"Ready?" Snow asked.

"Yeah." Hanna slipped on her shoes and picked up her backpack.

"Don't forget your coat," David said.

"Okay." Hanna grabbed her coat from the hook and followed her mom out the door.

Hanna barely made it through the morning. All she could think about was Emma's vision. She couldn't remember one thing her teacher said during English. Math was a blur. She made no progress on her painting in art class. Study hall was right before lunch, and Hanna did manage to get part of her math homework done, but she knew she could have finished the whole assignment if she wasn't so distracted. Hanna texted Emma right before school started and checked her phone every chance she had, but by lunch she still hadn't heard from her. Hanna sat down at the lunch table with Henry and Violet and tried to push Emma out of her head.

Henry turned to Hanna. "So last night was fun."

"What did you two do?" Violet asked.

"Emma and Hanna brought home a bunch of ice cream," Henry told her.

"Yeah and we were basically allowed to eat as much as we wanted," Hanna said.

"It was awesome," Henry nodded. "We still have some left if you want to come over after school and have some."

"I would love to," Violet said.

Henry turned to Hanna. "Is it okay if we come over?"

"Yeah, that's fine. I know my Mom and Dad won't mind."

"Great," Henry said. " So I never got a chance to ask you…how did Emma seem yesterday?"

Hanna felt her heart sink. Why did he have to ask her that? "Uh…fine I guess."

"Well, you spent the whole day with her. Did you notice anything?"

"I mean…I didn't see any tremors, and she says she's fine."

"You believe her?"

Hanna nodded.

"You don't think she's lying anymore?"

Hanna took a deep breath. "No."

"So you're saying I was right?"

Hanna rolled her eyes. The grin on his face was annoying. She knew she could wipe it from his face in an instant if she just told him the truth, but she wouldn't do that to Emma…at least not yet.

Henry nudged her with his elbow. "Just say it."

"No."

"Come on…"

"Fine whatever you're right." Hanna stood up from the table. "I need to go study for the science test."

Hanna threw her lunch away and found a place to sit in the hall away from everyone else. She sifted through her papers until she found the study guide. For the test, she was going to have to label the different parts of a cell and list the key functions of each part. Hanna tried to focus, but she just couldn't. All she could think about was her sister's impending death and that she wasn't allowed to tell anyone about it.

After school, Hanna decided she wasn't in the mood for ice cream. She didn't want Henry to bring up Emma again. Her mom and dad would be home from work soon too, and Hanna just wanted to be alone. Instead, she poofed herself to Granny's for a hot chocolate, then walked around town by herself. It was a little cold, but Hanna didn't mind. Being out here was better than being around someone who would inevitably bring up her sister. Hanna knew she would either get upset or just finally give in and tell if she was pushed hard enough, so she decided this was best way to keep herself from spilling Emma's secret…avoiding everyone as much as possible.

Hanna made her way to the beach. She sat down on a bench and just looked out at the ocean. The sun was starting to set and Hanna could tell it was going to be beautiful tonight. She couldn't even enjoy it though. All she could think about was that hooded figure. She wondered if Emma made any progress today. If they could just figure out who it was, then maybe they could stop the vision from coming true. Hanna pulled out her phone and called her sister.

"Hey, Han."

"Wow, you actually answered."

"Yeah. Sorry, I didn't text you back. I read your message, then got distracted with work. What's up?"

"I was just wondering if you made any progress figuring out…"

"Henry just got home. Can we talk later?"

Hanna sighed. "Yeah. Sure."

"I'll text you, okay?"

"You promise?"

"Yes."

"Alright. Bye."

"Bye."

Hanna looked at her phone and realized what time it was. Her mom probably had dinner ready. She really didn't want to go home, but she knew she didn't have a choice. She couldn't avoid everyone forever. She waved her hand and sent herself home.

Hanna appeared right inside the front door. Her parents weren't the only ones that were there. Regina was sitting at the table. Her mom must have invited her over for dinner.

"Hey sweetie," Snow said with a smile. "How was school?"

"Fine." Hanna kicked off her shoes, tossed her backpack onto the floor, and hung up her coat.

"Why didn't you have ice cream with Violet and Henry after school?" Snow asked. "They were wondering where you were."

"I wanted to go for a walk instead."

"It's kind of cold for a walk, don't you think?" Regina asked.

Hanna shrugged. "I was fine."

"Well, come sit down for dinner. I'm sure you're hungry." Snow said.

"I'm actually not that hungry. Can I just go upstairs?"

Snow shook her head. "You need to eat something."

"But…"

"Sit down, Hanna," David said. He buckled Neal into his highchair, then sat down at the table. He pulled out the chair beside him. "Come on."

Hanna walked over to the table and sat beside her dad.

"Henry said you had a science test today," Snow said. "How did that go?"

"Fine I guess…" Hanna wasn't sure though. She was pretty sure she labeled everything right, but she barely studied, so she wasn't very confident.

"He said you have a book report due next week for English class too. He's been working on it all week. " Regina said.

"Have you started that yet?" David asked.

"Mhmm," Hanna lied. She actually forgot all about it. She couldn't even remember what book they were reading. She was usually a good student, but after everything that's happened she just couldn't seem to focus on school. All the time jumps and being in different realms didn't help. Of course her sister was a huge distraction lately too.

"Emma told me she taught you a new spell yesterday," Regina said.

"Yeah I used my dad's shoe to find him."

"She said you did very well."

Hanna shrugged. "I already knew where he was, so it was easier."

"No, that's a tricky spell, even if you know where the person is."

Hanna smiled.

Regina turned to Snow and David. "Emma seems to be doing better. I didn't see any tremors when I talked to her today."

Snow nodded. "Yeah I think she is…"

Hanna's mind was instantly brought back to the hooded figure. Why did they have to bring up Emma? At first, she wasn't sure she was going to be able to make it through dinner, and now she definitely knew she wouldn't if they kept talking about her sister. Hanna could already feel tears starting to form in her eyes.

"Hanna…" Snow said.

Hanna shook her head. "What?"

"Don't you think so?"

"Think what?"

"The sessions with Archie are help…"

"I don't know!"

David raised his eyebrows at her "Hanna what…"

"I'm sorry," Hanna sighed. "I just…had a long day. Can I go upstairs? I have a lot of homework."

David nodded. "Go ahead."

Hanna got up from the table, picked up her backpack, and quickly went upstairs.

Hanna sat on her bed and pulled out her phone. She had a text from Emma, but all it said was that she was fine, she would figure this out soon, and to trust her. She asked if Hanna was okay too. Hanna told Emma she was fine and that she only had two more days left before her time was up and they were going to tell everyone the truth. Hanna didn't figure she would would get a response, so she opened her math book to finish the homework she started earlier.

She got through a few problems before her mind wandered to her sister again. She could feel the tears coming back, but this time she didn't try to make them go away. She pushed her math book to the side, put her head in her hands, and tried to think of a way she could help Emma without revealing her secret.

A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. "Can I come in?" Hanna heard her dad ask.

Hanna quickly wiped the tears from her eyes and pulled her math book back onto her lap. "Yeah." She hoped her dad couldn't tell that she had been crying.

"Honey, what's wrong?" David asked as soon as he saw her.

Hanna sighed. "Nothing."

"Hanna, I can see that you're upset."

"I just…"

"You can tell me. What's going on?" David sat down on the bed next to her.

The look on his face made Hanna want to break down right then. She wanted to tell him everything. He could fix this. She knew her dad could make everything better. He would do anything to help Emma. He would know how to stop the hooded figure from killing her. Hanna just knew it…but she also made a promise to her sister. "I just…" Hanna sighed. "I don't know how to do my math homework."

"Is that all?"

Hanna nodded. "It's really hard, Dad. Can you help me?"

"Of course I can," David reached out for her book. "What do we have here? Ah, quadratic equations. Well, first…"

Hanna knew exactly how to do the problems, but having her dad here at least helped her focus on her homework instead of her sister.

Hanna opened her eyes and found herself standing in the middle of Main Street. Did she poof herself here and forget? It was the middle of the day and there were people walking around, but no one seemed to notice she was there. All of a sudden everyone disappeared and the sky went dark. The moon was shining brightly in the sky. Hanna saw someone running towards her…it was her sister.

"Emma, what's going on?"

"It's coming…" Emma put her hands on Hanna's shoulder. She was gasping for air. "The hooded figure…."

Hanna watched her sister's eyes go wide as if she were pleading for help. Hanna took ahold of Emma's hands. "Just breathe, Em. It's going to be okay."

Emma shook her head. "It's not."

"Let's just go find Mom and Dad. They can…"

"No! You promised."

"Okay…"

"It's coming. You have to save me."

Hanna nodded. "Tell me what to do. Where's the hooded figure now?"

Emma grabbed her sister by the shoulders and turned her around. "There."

Hanna was face to face with the person that was terrorizing her sister. Only she couldn't be certain it even was a person. She couldn't see a face beneath the hood. Only black. She couldn't even see eyes. The girls slowly started to back away. "Emma…take…take my hand. I'll get us out of here." She felt Emma hold onto her and Hanna lifted her hand to send them somewhere safe, but she couldn't "What's happening?"

"The cuff." Emma told her.

Hanna looked down and saw a magic blocking cuff on her wrist. That definitely wasn't there a second ago. Hanna and Emma continued to back away from the hooded figure. Hanna watched the figure lift it's arm and hold out a sword towards them. It lifted the other arm and waved it towards Hanna. Hanna flew through the air, landed on the sidewalk, and smacked her head off the pavement. She tried to sit up, but everything around her was spinning. The figure was getting closer to Emma, but she was just standing there. She wasn't even running. Hanna tried to get back up again, but she couldn't. She opened her mouth to tell Emma to run, but nothing came out. Hanna tried to scream louder and louder, but her voice was gone. Why wasn't Emma trying to escape? Hanna watched Emma close her eyes as the figure plunged the sword through her heart.

"Hanna…" Snow sat on the bed beside her and brushed the hair from her face. She came up here as soon as she heard her daughter's screams. Hanna was still crying out, but she couldn't understand what she was saying. Snow gently nudged her shoulder. "Hanna, wake up." Snow couldn't pull her from this nightmare. She put her hands on both of Hanna's shoulders and shook her a little harder. "Honey, open your eyes!"

Hanna sat straight up and gasped for air. It was still dark. Hanna looked around frantically. Was she still on Main Street? Where was Emma? She heard a clicking sound and she could see again. It was her lamp. She was in her room.

Hanna saw her mom sitting next to her and let out a sigh of relief.

"Hey…you're okay." Snow rubbed circles on her back. "That was a pretty bad one, huh?"

Hanna nodded.

"Were you dreaming about the Evil Queen again?"

"Huh?"

"The Queen…was that what your nightmare was about?" Snow reached out a wiped the tears from Hanna's cheeks.

"Oh…uh, yeah…she killed you and dad again."

"Oh sweetie, I'm sorry." Snow put her arm around Hanna and kissed the top of her head. "Do you want to come downstairs and sleep?"

Hanna shook her head. She didn't think she could move. The room was spinning.

"Do you want me to stay here with you?"

Hanna nodded.

"Okay, why don't you lay back down."

Hanna laid down and scooted over to give her mom some room. She relaxed in her arms and slowly closed her eyes as her mom brushed her fingers through her hair.

Hanna walked into the station the next day. She needed to find her sister. She was determined to help Emma find a way to stop the hooded figure or convince her to tell everyone else about the visions. When she got there, Her mom was standing in the office that looked in on the interrogation room. Emma and her dad were in there with a woman. "Mom is that your teacher's aide from school?" Hanna asked.

"Yes, and apparently her real name is Jasmine."

"Like from Aladdin?"

"Mhmm. She's the Princess of Agrabah."

"What…"

"Shhh…let's listen," Snow nodded towards the window.

"So if it wasn't you, who was it?" David asked.

"I have no idea," Jasmine said. "That girl was my friend. She was helping me find a man who I cared about a long, long time ago."

"Aladdin?" Emma asked.

"You know him?"

"No, I just saw the movie," Emma told her. "It's a this world thing. But where is he?"

"I wish I knew. He was quite special. He was the savior."

Hanna's mouth fell open, and she looked over at her mom. "Did she just say…"

Jasmine told them that as far as she knew Aladdin was still alive. Hanna left with her parents to see if they could find him. She hoped he would have answers for Emma. If he was a Savior and still alive, then maybe Hyde was wrong. Maybe all Saviors don't have to die in the end.

"What's wrong?" Emma asked when she walked into the loft.

"We hit a dead end trying to find Aladdin," David told her.

"We tried a locator spell. It didn't work," Snow said.

"Nothing actually belonged to him," Hanna added. "Everything he had, he stole."

"And we're giving up?" Emma asked.

"We're not giving up exactly, but it doesn't look good," David said.

"So we may not find Aladdin…"

"Which means you're running out of excuses, Emma."

Archie was standing by the door.

"Did you follow me here?" Emma asked him

"Yes. I mean, look…" Archie continued. "I couldn't leave knowing that you were going to continue to lie to yourself and to your family."

Hanna's eyes went wide. Her sister had the same look on her face. Hanna was sure Emma told him about the vision during their sessions, but what she told him was suppose to be confidential. She couldn't believe he was just coming in here and telling everyone like this.

"What is going on?" Snow asked.

"Emma has a secret," Archie said.

"Archie…" Emma said.

"No." Killian reached out his hand to stop Emma and looked towards Archie. "Continue."

"Killian…"

"Emma, if he thinks it can help…Cricket's always been on your side."

"Mom. Please," Henry said.

Hanna made eye contact with her sister and gave her an encouraging nod. She could see out of the corner of her eye that her mom noticed. Hanna could feel a lump forming in her throat. She hoped her mom didn't pick up on what the nod meant.

"I've…" Emma sighed. "I've been having visions of what I think is my future. In the vision…I die. According to Hyde, all Saviors die. Aladdin was also a Savior, so I thought if I found him, if I found him alive…that he could help me avoid my fate."

Hanna noticed Archie walk out the door. He came in here, dropped a bombshell on everyone, and was just leaving?

"So you lied to us?" Killian asked.

Snow walked over to her daughter. "Do you not trust us?"

"We're you're family," David said.

"And you don't keep secrets from your family," Snow told her.

"And you die?" Henry asked.

Emma sighed and told them everything she saw in her vision.

"So I'm not there?" Regina asked.

"The figure in my hood kills me while I protect everyone, but no, you're not there," Emma told her.

"Well, where do you think I am? Dead? Or am I the figure under the hood?"

"Now, Regina, don't be angry. This is a vision. It's not a dream. It's not like it's my subconscious at work."

"I'm gonna find another way to track down Aladdin. If I can't be of help in the future, I sure as hell better do my part now."

"Regina…"

"Just give me an hour. Meet me at my vault. I've got this," Regina said before leaving.

"Is it true?" Jasmine asked.

Emma turned to her. "What?"

"Is Aladdin dead?"

"I don't know."

Jasmine went upstairs and Henry followed her. Hanna felt sorry for her and hoped Henry could help cheer her up. Killian sat down on the couch. Hanna could tell by the look on his face that he was scared for Emma, but also hurt that she was hiding this from him. Hanna knew Emma was relieved that the secret was out, but she was also worried about how everyone was going to react now that they knew she was lying to them. Now that everyone knew, this all felt so much more real.

Hanna walked over to Emma. "It's going to be okay," she whispered. "Now they can helps us. We…"

"You knew about this didn't you?"

Hanna jumped at the sound of her mom's voice.

"Hanna, did you know?" Snow asked again.

"She didn't, Mom," Emma said. "She…"

"Turn around and look at me."

Hanna sighed. She turned and faced her.

"Did you about Emma's vision?"

"Yes."

Snow closed her eyes and shook her head. "Hanna…"

"Mom, don't be upset with her. I just told her about it, and I made her promise to wait before we told you."

"Again, Emma? You're keeping stuff from us again?"

"I just…I didn't know what to do." Emma walked into her parent's room and sat down on the bed.

Hanna sat down beside her sister.

Snow pulled up a chair and sat across from the girls. "You two have got to stop keeping secrets like this from us. You should have been honest."

"We didn't lie," Hanna said.

Snow raised her eyebrows. "You weren't being completely truthful either."

"Mom, I just…got scared," Emma said.

Snow reached out for her daughter's hand. "Which is exactly when you should talk to me, or your dad…Killian…Regina. You should not have pulled your sister into this."

"She didn't pull me in," Hanna said. "I made her tell me."

Emma shook her head. "No, Mom's right. I shouldn't have said anything. I just…I wanted someone else to know and…."

"You knew she'd keep your secret?" Snow asked.

Emma nodded.

"She would do anything for you. You know that, right?"

"I know," Emma said. "Can you forgive me?"

"I mean, of course, I forgive you. We're your parents. We'll always forgive you, but what about him?" Snow looked at Killian, then turned back towards Emma. "You're trying to build something. And look, your father and I may not be perfect, but we don't keep secrets from each other."

"Leroy called…" David said as he walked into the room. "He had an appointment with Archie, but he didn't show."

"Archie left with plenty of time," Emma said.

"That wasn't Archie," Snow said.

Emma's eyes went wide. "The Queen. She has him."

"What?" Hanna gasped. She could feel her heart thumping through her chest. "She…she was here and we didn't even…"

"Hey," Snow put her hand on Hanna's shoulder. It's okay."

Hanna looked up at her mom and nodded.

"We're not going to let her hurt anyone," Emma told her. "I need to go meet Regina. I'll take Henry and Jasmine. Can you three see if you can find Archie?"

"Yeah. We'll try to track him down," David said.

They went to his office first, but didn't find anything that would give them a clue as to what the Queen did with him. They spent the next couple hours canvasing the town and asking anyone if they had seen him. They weren't having any luck and were just about to head home when Hanna's phone rang. It was Emma. They found Aladdin, and he had something that could help Emma.

"We came as soon as we could," David said once they entered the loft.

"Still no sign of Archie," Snow told them.

Hanna looked up and saw what Regina was holding "What are those?"

"The Shears of Destiny," Killian said. "Emma can use them to cut herself from her fate."

"Look," Emma said. "I brought those here because I'm done with secrets, but I do not want to use them."

Hanna looked over at her sister. "Emma…"

"Just here me out…Aladdin didn't trust the people he loved and that's why he failed. But I believe in us to find a third way. It's kind of what we do. But if we don't, and my magic does come with a price, I will pay it. The Savior is what I am, but I am also part of a family."

"Well, I choose to believe in us too," Snow said

"We all do." David put his hand on Emma's shoulder. "We can protect you, and we can protect this town."

"If that's what you want, then I'm with you, Swan," Killian said.

Emma held onto Killian's hand. "Hey. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't trust you. No more secrets." Emma took the shears from Regina and held them out to Killian. "Take them. I don't want them used as a weapon if they fall into the wrong hands. We need to be sure to be rid of them."

Killian assured them that he would make sure the shears were put somewhere no one can find them. Emma left with Killian, and Henry went with Regina, which left Hanna alone with her parents.

"Well, I think I'll just go to bed…" Hanna started walking towards the stairs.

David held onto her arm. "Not so fast."

Hanna sighed and looked at her dad.

David nodded towards the table. "Sit."

Hanna did what her dad said. Her parents sat down on either side of her. "You guys aren't allowed to be mad at me. I was right about Emma and you didn't believe me."

"We know, Hanna. We're sorry," David said.

Snow nodded. "We should have listened to you. We just didn't want to believe that something more was wrong with her."

"After everything she's been through. We hoped the sessions with Archie were helping, and we only saw what we wanted to see."

"I understand," Hanna said. "I didn't want to believe it either, but I knew something else was going on with her. I could feel it."

Snow held onto Hanna's hand and gave it a squeeze. "Next time you have a feeling about your sister we'll trust you."

"We promise." David said. "And Emma promised no more secrets, so we need you to do the same."

"We're a family and we have to trust one another, okay?"

Hanna nodded. "No more secrets."
