Zaya had been moving through republic city like a badger mole stealing from the triads and giving back what the people deserved. Though in the two year time span there was a bounty on her head enough to pay off the price for a small neighborhood, which she owned.
In the time she had gotten four names, The blue spirit, the scarred lady, the witch of the burrows and finally the Blue Kemurikage.
Even then most hated her, well except she did have her fans. "She's awesome!" He told his brother showing a picture of the famed vigilante. "She beats up triads and gives people their money back!" Tenzin looked bored while Kya just gave him a smirk. "Don't you think so?" He asked his siblings excitedly.
Kya spoke up. "You have a crush on her." Bumi crossed his arms looking away, blushing.
"Leave him alone, if he has a crush on an imaginary friend it doesn't mean you have to tease him." Tenzin said with the same annoying grin.
Bumi stormed out of the room and then off the island. He walked down the street to his favorite 24 hour convenience store. He got his favorite drink with some fried seaweed chips. He turned to see a girl eating Dumplings and drinking the same drink, he froze. "Hey." She said with a smile.
He gulped his mind racing trying to make the first good impression. "What ya got there?" His Inner Sokka said, well atleast a sixteen year old Sokka.
"Dumplings, I run around a lot. I need the extra energy." He nodded tongue tied.
Bumi Vision.
Her hair was crow black as coal, eyes warm member gems for eyes, lips red rubies. Skin pure as Pearl.
She stood so confidently, I was raised on an island with no one the same age as me! I need to say at least one thing worth while! "I'm Bumi!" Idiot! Why did I scream my name?! She's going to think I'm insane.
"I'm Zaya, good to start a conversation without getting hit on." Oh thank whatever spirit is protecting me.
"Yea, a star like you must get a lot of attention." I grabbed my mouth, what did I say? "Sorry that just came out.
"Being a star isn't what it's made out to be." I looked at she looked so sad.
"I guess not, I'm the oldest in a family of benders. I feel like an island in the middle of the ocean" She got closer, my face burned, why did she smell like flowers and smoke.
"Trade you a dumpling for your seaweed chips." I accepted and bit into it. It tasted so good! I looked into the filling being meat!
"I can't eat meat."
She chuckled and ate a seaweed chip. "You already did." She teased me. I looked at the paper bag of Seaweed chips. "Here you can have it back, just throw the dumpling away if you don't like it." I just continued eating the dumpling, it was so good! Better than those sea prunes or tofu!
"Why can't you eat meat anyway? Going on a diet or something?" I shook my head, dad wanted me to be a monk… "My father wants me to be a monk and I shouldn't eat meat, I don't want to disappoint him." She looked at me with wide eyes.
"Is your dad mean or a jerk?" I was shocked that she even asked that.
"Of Course not! He tries his best and he doesn't have a temper!" I calmed down, sighing.
"Listen I haven't had a parent in seven years, I think since I was ten but! From what you told me you couldn't do anything to disappoint him. If you don't want to be a monk, be a doctor, artist, philosopher, architect or join the United forces. Do your best. I'm pretty sure he will still love you." The idea was foreign but I smiled.
"BUMI!" I heard my mom and turned to see Appa she grabbed. "Wanna have some fun before you go back home?" I smiled and nodded at the idea, she created a smoke screen and we ran.
The first thing we did was just insane! We rode the street trains on the roof. "Are you sure this is legal?" I asked before getting pulled off of it.
She shrugged. "Last I checked there's no laws against it." I followed into a street fight! They were benders, non benders and using rat squirrels as a weapon. "Yea mad fight alley, these guys just drink some weird juices and go at it." I watched and realized the squirrel guy was there for the rest of them were just having fun, luckily there was no blood. "Come on, I want to show you something really amazing!"
She held my hand and flew using fire bending and I the city from the top. "Wow, I never knew the city could be like this." We landed on the ground or better said we fell on our butts. "I never knew what the city looked like at night."
Zaya chuckled, "Yes, like a cluster of stars." We looked at City. "Thanks for not being a creep." I looked shocked.
I took a breath. "I should be thanking you, I mean look at this. I have been stuck on an island but seeing this I want to travel the world and see things, taste head. Experience it all!" She stared at me with a warm smile.
"Then you should join the United forces if you want to see the world. Maybe we will meet, I better leave." She jumped off the building leaving confused before I heard Appa's groan.
Home mom yelled at me for a few minutes and I was grounded to my room. "It was worth it." I said looking at my hand, still remembering how rough it was.
The door opened expecting one of my siblings only to realize it was dad. "Bumi, I wanted to talk to you." He sat next to me. "So you met a girl?" Oh no not the talk again! "I guess you must have had a thrill ride with how your mom is reacting." Oh thank you spirits for not torturing me. "So how long have you two been an Item?" Why is my face burning up?
Zaya went through the street early in the morning and kicked down the door to a bar. She was hit with multiple crystals and encased her. "Did we catch the witch?!" One of the creeping crystals cheere before noticing the cracks forming. "NO!" The panicking Earth bender launched boulders at the witch. Only to find she was gone, the earth bender still panicked before getting electrocuted, the entire triad looked in absolute fear as the entire room was engulfed in smoke, one by one they fell to the floor with the leader shaking in fear as the witch stood over him.
"Aaaaaaaahhhhh!"
She left the bar. "Heat plus crystal equal expansion and destruction." She went out of view once the police arrived.
She went to a trash can and burned her mask and cloak. "Time to stand in the light again."
