The Generals board looked over the recruits, one name that came up was Zaya, she was unlike anything they had received from her skills in fire bending to her planning abilities, she should have been requested to be placed into the intelligence branch, yet she chose to join the ranks of United forces.

When the name came to the ears of the fire nation Generals and Admirals who planned to poach some good staff, they ran to Zuko. Though this had taken two years to reach the Fire lord.

Zaya was on cleaning duty for causing one of the flame launchers to melt and curve a bit. "I should have known my strength." After being done she came to the cafeteria and she sat alone, til Bumi sat in front of her.

He smiled at her. "Looks like we're both on the bad list." He chuckled.

She rolled her eyes at him. "Shouldn't you be surrounded by fans? You know, dads not a jerk." He laughed.

He looked around and saw many who looked at Zaya with a glare. "Yea, but most of them just like hanging around me, I think they thought I was rich or something." Zaya smirked. "So why is everyone giving you the cold shoulder?" She looked around and saw the glares from the other benders and non-benders.

The fire bending master whispered into Bumi's ear. "I Beat up most of them, and I think they told the rest started shitty rumors." Bumi nodded understanding.

"I feel sorry for whoever marries you." They blushed and she snorted.

She sighed "Maybe, but I'm sure whoever he is, I just want to have fun." Bumi nodded.

He looked at the clock. "Back to cleaning, I got Night Shift." Zaya perked up at that.

"Same, just got lucky huh?" Bumi shrugged and left, the moment he was alone did a fist bump.

They stood at the bow of the ship, watching for any odd lights. "We're searching for pirates?" The Mo wheel asked who looked to have just come out of basic training. "Kinda stupid right?" Zaya just let out a frustrated sigh.

Bumi chirped in. "After the war a bunch of old H year warships were sold off, by the people who were supposed to scrap them. This gave pirates a new method of stealing goods and sealing it all to the black market, basically a pirate navy." Zaya looked impressed at Bumi yet Mo continued to talk waste.

"That's stupid, what you expect from those ash throwers." She decided to step away and Bumi glared at the ensign/private. "Was she?" Bumi nodded. "Crap, I just lost my chance to hit that." Bumi also decided to step away from the trash for brains.

They met at the stern of the ship. "You alright?" Bumi before breathed smoke out of her nose.

She sneezed which sounded like a kitten. "Yea, he's not the first and I don't expect the last." He looked concerned. "I guess that's what happens when your ancestors were monsters." Zaya spoke somberly.

Bumi took one long breath. "You shouldn't say that, you're not what your ancestors are! Look at me! My dads a monk and my mom's a water bender, and I'm not like either of them!" She smiled at him.

"Thanks Bumi."
