Kazuko crawled to her brother while in the waiting room with her grandmother. At the same time, Bumi and Zaya were in shock. "While it is rare for this condition, your child will have a full and natural life. You just need to be understanding and be supportive." They nodded. The Doctor gave them a book on sign Language.
They went back home, and both were silent after saying goodbye to Aang. Zaya was spiraling, yet in an instant, she was pulled out of it. "Let's learn Sign language!" The oldest started crying. "You're learning it too, my son!" He smiled, and Zaya chuckled and opened the book while he ran to him and picked the little boy up.
Zaya got a spoon of wasabi and had her daughter in a different room. The fire sages went to the home of Zaya and Bumi to test the child. "Now let's see if my little man is like mommy or daddy." Zaya looked to the sage to see if he was ready. He nodded and started by placing the spoon under his nose. In a flash of light, the sage fell to the ground and saw the spoon of wasabi had Been vaporized, only leaving the scorched spoon, and the sage's hand burned as well as his sleeve. He stared in complete awe as if he was staring at a true Sea of fire.
Zaya swelled with pride and picked him up. "Who's a little sun? You are! You are!" The baby giggled as she gave him nose kisses.
The child rubbed his nose, his face covered in ash. The sage gulped. "W-we s-should check y-y-your daughter." He was still shaken up when the test failed, with the little girl sneezing herself up to the ceiling and gently falling into her mother's arms. "That was unexpected, but you're full of surprises. Are you my little princess?" The Fire sage left the apartment before his legs gave out on the sidewalk.
Thoughts.
It was like standing and viewing a Fire whirl from its center, all air disappearing, standing in a vacuum. For the first time, he felt empty; there hadn't been a prodigy like that since— Azula.
Another monster like Azula couldn't exist. She wasn't a dragon. She was a conniving phoenix; each time she lost, she just returned better and stronger. No, that child needed to die.
No! That was the old way! He was The old orders! The orders from Ozai.
He stood up and continued on his way, cursing himself.
Zaya was on Airbender Island with her father-in-law playing with Kazuko. "Come to Grandpa!" He said happily while the little girl was sucking on her hand.
"You have to sign it like this." She showed her the hand signs to come to Gran- He did it, and Kazuko laughed, crawling toward him.
Aang lifted her. "I guess I will need a little help when I'm going to train you! Isn't that right?" She got tickled and burst out laughing.
Her brother made a hand sign to her sister, and she answered him. "What are they saying?" Katara asked, perplexed at the two children communicating.
"Something about Grandpa, head shiny?" Katara giggled under her hand. "Now it's about Grampa, pretty arrows, and paint on me." Zaya looked annoyed, and both kids ran as fast as one-year-olds could. "This is going to be an annoying bath time." Katara gave her a sympathetic pat.
The kids had gotten their hands on ink and painted themselves later that day.
Bumi was attempting to get his oldest to speak. "Say da-da" Nozaki just looked perplexed. "Say, Mama? How about Kazu? Say your sister's name. Ka-zu-ko" He sighed as the child showed no interest, just lying on the carpet.
Zaya told her husband. "Bumi bear, Dinner's ready!"
At which, his daughter said, "Bomi!" She yelled from her top chair, copying her mother's mouth movement. Her mother just laughed, as did Bumi, at her adorable little girl. The one-year-old just looked and just joined in the laughter.
Azula looked at her grandson, his eyes what put her off. "Looks like too much, or Katara is showing." He didn't respond as Zuko just smiled at her sister's discomfort. "He is a fire bender, correct?" She asked Bumi as her daughter went clothes shopping with Izumi and Kazuko. "Can you make a little fire for your grandmother?" She asked kindly in the saccharine way she could, and the boy responded by showing his tongue and sparking a fire on the tip of his tongue.
Bumi panicked, but Azula didn't look offended, just laughing. "Aren't you a little troublmaker?" While Zuko looked with his eyes widened in shock. She looked at him and did the same with her blue fire, which the young boy looked at with fascination.
Zuko cleared his throat. "How are Aang and Katara?" Bumi looked up from the wholesome interaction.
"Mom and Dad are fine; they have been babysitting a lot. Can you say,Grandma?" His son shrugged, still focused on the pretty blue fire.
Azula stopped picking him. "He's just adorable!" The little fire bender just giggled at his grandmother.
