Brooklyn and Sil wondered what the clan would think if they brought these two ladies back to Manhattan with them. But their next adventure was not back to their original time. It was to 1977 of Bar Harbor, Maine.

The group of four were next deposited in a back alley of the town. Mary and Finella were both shocked at what had just happened to them. They had been taken on a magical journey away from the time they both knew and would have to adapt to their surroundings.

"Where are we now, Brooklyn?" Sil asked nervously.

"I don't know, Sil. We can only go walking about and find out where and when we are. This place is unfamiliar to me too." Brooklyn told him. "But stay together." He caped his wings and started to lead them up the alley. "Though you and I might need to get to the rooftops, Sil. Mary, Finella, if you go walking the streets, we will follow you. We can't be seen. But if you can just ask where we are, don't tell them we're time travelers. Just say we're lost."

"Very well, lad." Mary agreed.

"How do we find out our mission here?" Sil asked.

"I don't know yet, Sil, just stick with me." Brook replied. He then had him get on his back and he got them to the rooftops. It left the two women to go walking on the streets. It wasn't long after sunset. There were still some businesses open and people out walking about the town.

Bar Harbor wasn't that big a town, but it was big enough. The two women got plenty of stares as they walked along from their unusual looks in garb. Brooklyn and Sil followed on the rooftops from above, watching them.

At one point, the two women were stopped by a brown-haired man. "Can I help you ladies?" he asked politely. "You don't look like you're from around here."

"Nay, Laddie. We are lost." Mary replied. "Can ye tell us where we be?"

The man recognized her accent. "You are Scottish."

"Aye." Finella said.

"You're in Bar Harbor, Maine." The man stated.

"What be the year?" Mary asked.

"You're kidding, right?"

"Nay. What is the year?"

"1977."

"Okay. Thank ye, lad." Mary replied.

Brooklyn had heard the man's words loud and clear from this distance. His hearing was awesome. "So, we're in Bar Harbor, Maine in the year 1977." He said to Sil.

"But what's the purpose here?" Sil asked.

"That I have yet to find out." Brook replied.

They went on exploring the town. Eventually, there was a man who was mentioning a Halloween party taking place at the City Hall by curtesy of David Xanatos. That got Brooklyn's attention.

"If Xanatos is in this time period, maybe we need to set up a meeting for him to meet Demona. It's the only way to make sure that we are able to wake up in the year 1994." Brooklyn explained. "But he can't see us. I'll have to talk to the women."

"But how you get him to meet Demona?" Sil asked. If it hadn't been for the battle back in their last adventure, Sil wouldn't have known who she was.

"We'll have to find where he works." Brooklyn declared. "He might not have moved to New York yet."

As them kept on moving, some smells from the restaurants started getting to them. It was starting to make their stomachs start growling. "I'm hungry, Brooklyn." Sil whined.

"I am too." Brooklyn replied. "Never knowing when we're going home, we still have to take care of ourselves."

They soon met up in another alley with the women. "So, what ye think?" Mary asked.

"I heard a familiar name from our time. A man known as David Xanatos lives here. We have to arrange a meeting between him and Demona in order for him to take Castle Wyvern to New York in 1993, so we'll wake up in 1994." Brooklyn explained. "I also saw the looks the other humans were looking at you two. We may need to get some new clothes for you, so you'll fit in better." He suggested.

"But you said she's a monster." Mary said.

"Yeah. It wasn't easy to get all those gargoyles to come to our aid last time. But they agreed, nonetheless. But Demona is my clan's only hope to wake up in the near future." Brooklyn decreed.

"How is she able to be alive in this time period? Time travel too?" Finella asked.

"No. We found out that she's immortal." Brooklyn replied. "For a long time, she thought she was the last living gargoyle. It turns out she wasn't. But she's been alone for a long time."

"Sounds lonely." Finella said.

"Yeah. Gargoyles need their clans. But anyway, we have to set up this meeting. I heard there's a Halloween party going on. That might be the perfect opportunity for even me to come to and look like I'm wearing a costume."

"What's this Hall-o-ween?" Mary asked.

"Something most fun!" Sil exclaimed excitedly.

"Shh! Calm down, Sil. Yes. It's fun. It's a holiday where humans can dress up as their favorite creatures and get special treats. And dance parties. Some people even get prizes for their costumes." Brook tried to explain what he knew of it. "But also, if you ladies want to get some new clothes, we need money too."

"We have gold." Finella said.

"Here, we don't use gold so much anymore. We need cash." Brooklyn stated. "Let's go find a bank. There's money there."

On the way to a bank, there was a blonde man that they came across and Brook knew him too. "Stop. That's Owen! We need to talk to him. He can also help set this meeting up too. Sil, get his attention and bring him here." Brook directed.

"I can do that!" Sil grinned and went to go get the man. He then ran off.

Owen was heading to an atm machine to get some money. He was working for his new boss, David Xanatos. David was just arising to fame and fortune in this small town at this time.

"Hey, Sir! Sir!" Owen heard a kid's voice. He turned and there was a strange looking kid running up to him. "What can I do for you, Kiddo?" Owen asked Sil.

"Sir, can you help my parents? They are in need of some money bad!" Sil exclaimed in a whiny voice.

"Well, my boss does help with the needy sometimes. I don't see why not." Owen declared.

From the alley, Brooklyn, Mary, and Finella were watching Sil do his charm.

"How much do you need, son?" Owen asked. He took out his wallet.

"I don't know. My parents are over there. Please, come talk to them." Sil declared.

"Very well. I take it you are dressed up for Halloween?" Owen asked as he followed Sil.

"Uh, yes. Halloween." Sil grinned in reply, leading the blonde man to his friends. He was doing his job well.

Owen was soon over to where they met Brook, Mary, and Finella. "I was told you needed money. What's going on?" he asked.

"We need money for some new clothes and food, lad." Mary stated.

"We are broke other than having gold." Brooklyn said.

Owen looked at Brooklyn questionably. "Are you human, Sir?" he asked. He was having a feeling he was being set up.

"No, I'm not. I'm a gargoyle." Brooklyn replied, revealing his identity. "But we need your help. I know underneath that façade of yours that you are the fae known as Puck."

"What's it to you?" Owen demanded, changing his tune.

"Please, we need your help in setting up a meeting for your boss, Xanatos. It's a meeting that has to take place in the year 1993." Brooklyn explained.

"And who is this meeting to take place with?" Owen asked.

"It's with the only living member of my clan at the time. A female gargoyle. Blue skin, red hair, purple wings. Her name will be Demona. You see, we're time travelers. And my clan in Scotland must be brought to New York. Xanatos has to make an alliance with Demona." Brooklyn explained. "The whole castle must be brought to New York City."

"Sounds intriguing, Gargoyle." Owen said, then he backed off then turned into Puck.

"I never knew you could change into somebody else." Sil was surprised. "Cool!"

"This is my true identity, but I can't reveal myself to humans." Puck declared. "Well, perhaps there is a man who could help you fulfill this meeting. We'll talk to him at the Halloween party tomorrow night."

"Good." Brooklyn said. Then, his stomach growled loudly. He blushed. It got the others' attention.

There was more belly growling. "I take it you are all hungry?" Puck inquired.

"Yes. We not have time for much food." Mary replied. "But we also need money."

"I can give you some money, but what would you give me for it?"

"We have gold." Finella replied.

"Very well." Puck agreed.

Puck took their gold in return for $500. Then other preparations began.

The women went to get some new clothes. Some costumes were bought for the party too. Brooklyn would oversee what went on if he could help it. Some food was then bought at a restaurant with help from Owen.

The four friends had bowls of fish fry, potatoes, and some chocolate pie.

Mary and Finella were unaccustomed to wearing the clothes they were wearing. They wore more common clothing now. Mary's hair was a brown color now that she wasn't wearing her hood anymore.

Owen also got the friends a place to sleep at an inn. Though Brooklyn and Sil waited outside till they opened up a window, then slipped inside. But Brooklyn wouldn't sleep inside at the risk of being caught. He would sleep on a rooftop until further notice.

Things proceeded the next day as well. Mary and Finella looked after Sil during the day. Brooklyn was out in the woods behind this hotel. It was just for safety. He was in a tree. His tail was locked on a good tree limb. Luckily, it was fall time and he was in a tree with red leaves still bloomed on it.

The women got food for the day and eventually got into their costumes. The party would take place at seven that night. It would last well into the night.

Later, Brooklyn awoke, and he went to the inn room and talked more of the plan. Owen brought them to the party.

Once there, Owen pointed out a man who could help them. It was a friend of David's, a Judge Roebling.

Sil wanted to go off and party dance, but Brooklyn wanted him to stay close to him.

Finella and Mary got to talking with Roebling. She told him of a meeting that had to happen in 1993 in Scotland of a female gargoyle and Xanatos. It was also told that the story was written down in the red book that Finella carried, the Grimorum.

Roebling also told David of the story and book at the party. Brook and Sil watched too from a distance. They were in at the party, but folks paid them no mind, thinking they were in real costumes.

David was impressed with the story and would plan to keep his word. He was wanting a reason to leave his hometown of Bar Harbor and move to a more abundant, wealthy city. New York it was.

Brooklyn overheard it all. "It's done. Our mission here should be complete." The red gargoyle declared.

"Ready to go home now." Sil stated.

Mary and Finella were still talking when the Phoenix flames burst to life again. It lit up literally right there in the middle of the party, everyone shocked at what they were seeing. And two 'people' vanished before their eyes.

Mary and Finella were shocked that the Phoenix Gate hadn't waited for them. But then, this was part of Brooklyn and Sil's destiny. At least the meeting was set up.

David also ended up acquiring the Grimorum from the ladies. But he would keep his word in the end and find this female gargess when the time was right. She would likely still be in Europe by that time.

…..

The astral plane…

Brooklyn and Sil were now just drifting in the world of the Phoenix flames, waiting for the next destiny adventure. But at one point, they were both frozen.

"Hey! What is this?!" Brooklyn exclaimed. He couldn't move besides his head. The same went for Sil.

"What's going on? Let me go!" Sil snarled angrily.

The two of them looked about. "Who are you? What do you want with us?" Brooklyn demanded. "Show yourself!"

"So, you are the ones chosen by the prophecy." A female voice spoke out. Three sisters spun up in front of them. This one had blonde hair. Phoebe.

"Prophecy?" Sil questioned. "What's that?"

"It means that the Gate has chosen you to do its bidding." Another woman spoke. She had black hair. Seline.

"What do you mean, do its bidding?" Brooklyn demanded.

"The Gate will take you to many destinations throughout time and space here on this Earth. You will find and help the ones who need your help in these time periods, but a fair warning: You cannot tell the individuals of their destinies. Eventually, you will be allowed to return to your own time, but no one can know what will become of their futures. The truth cannot be told." Luna, the whitehaired one, declared.

"How long will this take?" Brooklyn asked. "We've got to get back to our clan."

"You will do as the Gate takes you to these places and do its will." Luna ordered.

"And what if we die while on our travels?" Brooklyn demanded.

"NO! Not want to die!" Sil shouted in distress.

"You must look after one another. You must determine fates according to history. Time cannot be altered." Phoebe stated. "It will take as much time as it needs. You both have jobs to do in this role."

"And one day, you will return to your home." Seline said. "But the decision is up to Phoenix Gate. You are in our control."

Then the sisters vanished. The spell then released their bodies.

"That was weird. Who were they?" Sil demanded.

"They were three magical women of Oberon's kind, the same as Puck was that you met recently. We call them the Weird Sisters." Brooklyn replied. "But you heard them. We are going to go places jumping around the timestream to make sure things go as they should for being throughout history." He explained. "And hopefully, we'll get to go home soon."

"Hope not take too long." Sil declared.

"At least we're in this together." Brooklyn said. "I just hope the Gate doesn't seek to separate us."

"Not want that at all." Sil exclaimed. He and Brooklyn could only await the next chosen adventure. But they both wished they had more insight on what they were supposed to do. It wasn't always easy to be a gargoyle. Brooklyn also dreaded being smashed in his stone sleep. That would leave young Sil alone and he was still a child yet. But hopefully, Sil could protect him. He had been taught defense well.

Then the Gate decided their next destination…
