Welcome to "Collision Course", the follow up story to Harry2's story "Ronins on the Hellmouth". Set a few years after the said story instead of six months like I originally planned. There are some other changes with this story, including the fact that the characters of the Highlander franchise are going to be more involved than just cameos, and two stories will be merged as one!

Also, this story is a retelling of season 3 of Ash vs. Evil Dead, just like the previous two versions of the story, but with the twists I have previously mentioned.

Like ROTH, this story is set in the Wandererverse. The premise of this universe goes as follows: When Buffy died in season 1, it wasn't Xander's CPR that brought her back, but she was revived Highlander style immortal. Jenny Calendar and slayer Kendra didn't die in this universe. Joyce didn't die from an aneurysm either. Faith stayed good as well and Amy never never went bad, or a rat for that matter. Now, speaking of Highlander, Richie Ryan was not beheaded by Duncan and is still alive. Season 6 does not take place and there's no Highlander: the Raven continuity. I never liked season 6, with the exception of five episodes, and I need to watch The Raven. You also have two special agents in this universe who are also immortal: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully of the X – Files! They are married in this universe, so if you have a problem with them as a couple, you might not want to read this universe.

One more thing, in the Wandererverse, there are references from The Legendary Adventures of Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess due to the fact that the Greek Gods are very active!

Now, on to the story.

Disclaimer: Ronin Warriors and all characters and properties belong to Sunrise, Discotek Media and Retro Crush. Evil Dead, Ash vs. Evil Dead and all characters and properties belong to Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, Renaissance Pictures, Lionsgate, and Starz. Highlander and the franchise's characters and properties belong to Lionsgate, Canon, Rysher Entertainment and Gaumount. The Legendary Adventures of Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess as well as the franchise's characters and properties belong to Sam Raimi, Renaissance Pictures and Universal Pictures. The characters James Ferino, Twyla Koji – Ferino and Ami Koji all belong to Harry2 and if you wish to use any of the characters, ask him first. The Lady Ronin Guardians belong to Winter Yuy and if you wish to use them, ask her first.

Collision Course

Chapter One

James looked outside the window, enjoying the evening view of Elk Grove. Over a week ago, they moved to this city upon learning about a new threat that was coming this way. It had been a few years since the events with Glory and Talpa, and things were peaceful and quiet for the most part. The last time he saw the Ronin Warriors and Lady Ronin Guardians was two years prior when Ryo and Mia got married.

"There's not much on TV this evening," Twyla stated as she was flipping through channels while sitting on the couch in the living room.

James grinned before he walked over to the couch and sat down next to his wife, "It's hard to believe this small town would be the source of the evil that is the upcoming threat."

"To think about it," Twyla explained, "I heard some things that this town was plagued by zombies but our next door neighbor had been the one who saved the town from these zombies called Deadites."

"We dealt with Hellmouth like things before," James replied, "we can't rule out zombies or Deadites whatever they may be called."

"That's true."

They both looked at the television as Twyla had stopped flipping channels at the moment. The couple looked to see a commercial for Ashy Slashy's Hardware Store Emporium.

"Well, won't you look at that," Twyla quipped.

"Local advertising," James added, "that's something you can expect from a Hometown Hero."

Not too long after that, the couple were watching an Antiques roadshow hosted by an elderly man with grayish white hair wearing a mustard yellow suit as a pretty girl with orange red hair wearing a pink sweater with a white skirt, white stockings and white shoes appeared on TV.

"And last up we have Amy," the host announced as the young lady walked over to him with a large book, "who I'm told has made a startling discovery. I see here Amy that you have discovered this item..."

"In the mud," Amy answered.

"In the mud," the man acknowledged as James and Twyla saw that the book had an evil face for a cover.

"James," Twyla spoke up, "I don't think that's any kind of book."

"You're right," James nodded in response, "I don't like the looks of it either."

"Is it a spellbook?" Twyla asked as the pair on TV saw the evil writings upon opening the book.

"Not for good witches if that's what you mean," James shook his head, "this is not good."

"I see you found a book written in Ancient Sumerian," the host said, "Curious."

"Does curious mean valuable?" Amy asked.

"This appears to be some sort of descriptive passage," the host continued as he looked at the book more. Then he proceeded to read the Ancient Sumerian writing which set James off.

"That man does not know what he is doing!" James exclaimed, "He doesn't know what kind of evil he is about to unleash!"

"James," Twyla asked, confused and worried, "what do you mean?!"

The couple looked on as the lights flickered in the house as the man continued with the reading.

"I knew it!" James exclaimed in disbelief, "He is playing with supernatural fire!"

"What kind?" Twyla asked.

"It's the Necronomicon Ex Mortis," the host on TV revealed, "known as the Book of the Dead. It holds many spells and incantations."

"And if someone reads it out loud," James added, "it will connect the demons of the Netherworld with ours!"

James and Twyla looked around, startled as the programming had been cut off after the man had unleashed the evil on the mortal world.

"This is bad," James looked at Twyla, "we will have to do something about this."

Like you would have a chance against me.

James was startled upon hearing the voice that spoke to him telepathically.

Who are you? James asked telepathically.

I shall put these words that you mortals will understand. I am known as things such as Demon Woman of Fire or Fierce Mother from Hell, but in these beknighted times, you can call me Ruby.

Look Ruby, I don't know what you have planned, but it's not going to work!

And you're going to stop me how? I know who you are, James Ferino, bearer of the Armor of the Eliminator. As for my plan, once the one known as Ash Williams is dead, the universe as you know will be swallowed into darkness.

You wouldn't dare! You're not going to kill Ash Williams with whatever plan you have! I won't allow it!

James lost telepathic signal from Ruby before looking over at Twyla, who looked at her husband with concern.

"James," she asked, "what's wrong?"

"Some lady by the name of Ruby sent me a telepathic message," James answered, "she plans to kill Ash Williams and it's not going to be a pretty picture if she does."

"Oh no!" Twyla exclaimed in shock, "We have to get to Ash right away!"

"Exactly what I had in mind," James nodded before looking at his wife, "let's go."

The couple left the house and headed over to the hardware store where Ash was.
