Ch1

Adrien stared at his kwami as a mixture of emotions swam inside of him. "Plagg tell me what is going on with Ladybug or I swear we are done," his voice was calm yet it barely hid the anger and sorrow inside of him. He had always strived to be his best, yet here he was being left out again and his kwami wouldn't even tell him what was happening. To put it frankly he was sick of it.

He was currently on the rooftop of some building while Paris was flooded. Yet his partner decided to leave him in the dark again and visit someone as she always did lately. At that moment he was tired of all the secrets, they were supposed to be partners yet right now he didn't feel like it.

He knew Ladybug was doing something, seeing someone who was helping her out. It hurt that she didn't trust him enough to tell him who it was along with a variety of other issues in their so called partnership. But Plagg was his kwami and him hiding things really hurt him, maybe even more than Ladybug.

"Adrien please not now," Plagg pleaded. "I can't." The kwami looked down. "Please understand."

"You can't or you won't," he said as he gripped his miraculous on his finger. "Plagg we are partners, we shouldn't keep secrets from each other. I've been patient with you, what are you hiding? Who is Ladybug seeing for help?"

Plagg stared at him his eyes wide, "I'm sorry I can't tell you. Either you're not ready or don't feel like telling you." The kwami shook his head and avoided his gaze. "I'm sorry but I can't tell you, it's a trust thing."

The words struck him like daggers through the heart. He gulped down the lump in his throat and took a deep breath, "I see how it is then," he said softly his body shaking as a tear fell down his face "I hope you find a new Cat Noir."

She doesn't trust me. I gave her everything but she doesn't trust me. Even Plagg won't tell me anything.

"Adrien wait I didn't mean it that way!" Plagg said but it was already too late. He took off the ring and Plagg went inside of it.

He cleaned his water eyes. "I'm sorry I wasn't good enough," he muttered as he set the ring down next to him. Ladybug will find you don't worry. Tearing out a sheet of paper from a notebook in his backpack he left a note to his companion and love with the words. Find someone worthy of your trust – Cat Noir.

Walking away he looked at the flooded city of Paris and sighed as he took out his phone and called Nathalie. The phone rang and his father's assistant answered, "H-Hey Nathalie I need help," he said accidently sniffling. "Mind sending a helicopter or something?"

"Adrien what's wrong?" Nathalie asked with concern. "If it's the water don't worry it will probably disappear soon."

"I don't care," he said tersely. "Nathalie I'm swimming home if you can't send a helicopter or transportation my patience with a lot of things has run thin at the moment."

"Adrien just please hang in there," Nathalie begged I'll think of something just please be careful."

"Never mind I'll just swim home if you can't do anything he said before hanging up the phone. With that he removed some of his clothing and put them in his backpack before staring at the flooded streets. Well here I go.

Hawkmoth was in his lair waiting for any signs of Ladybug of Cat Noir. Where are you both? He knew that Ladybug was getting help again but he saw no signs of her or Cat Noir.

He was about to contact his akumatized accomplice when the door to his lair entered and Nathalie burst in. "Gabriel its an emergency," she said with a panicked expression.

"What is it? I'm working," he said with a frown.

"It's Adrien," she said. "Something is wrong with him."

"What do you mean?" He snapped turning to her. "Shouldn't he be at school or fencing?"

"I don't know," she said shaking her head. "He sounded distraught when he called me. He asked for help and said he is swimming home if he couldn't get a ride."

He swore. "Where is he?"

"I don't know but he sounded serious. I think something is wrong with him," she said looking at her tablet. "I'll try to search for him through any news outlets."

My son. His heart pounded in his chest, Adrien was everything to him he couldn't sacrifice his son here and risk him getting hurt. The idea of him drowning made his blood run cold. The image of his wife passed through his head. I can't lose him too.

"Sir I can't find him do you think I should send for a helicopter?" she asked. Her eyes showed the fear in his face.

He sighed his body shaking as he gripped his staff. "No need," he said softly. He focused on the akuma and snapped his fingers releasing its host from his power. "Send every available person to find Adrien at once!"

Adrien I'm sorry. Please be ok. His heart raced at the thought of his son hurt, and for once in a long time there was fear in his heart.

"Yes sir," Nathalie said as she ran out of the room.

Adrien please be safe. I'm doing this for us you can't do stupid things like this.

Ladybug watched the streets of Paris as they became unflood. "What is going on?" She used her yoyo and swung from the roof tops and watched in horror at the scene below her.

Usually she would defeat the akuma and everything would be good. However, now as the water receded the damage was shown in plain view. Cars and businesses were flooded and ruined, people cried out in the street as friends and family members lay unconscious.

Oh my god oh my god. Her heart pounded in her chest as she arrived at the place she left Cat Noir. However, instead of her companion, she found a note and his miraculous. "Oh no," she said as she read the note over and over again. A tear fell down her cheek as she picked up the miraculous.

No this is my fault. "Master Fu will know what to do," she said quickly as she gripped the Cat Miraculous in her hand.

Her eyes watered up with the tears of the city. People were crying out in frustration at the loss of property and in sadness at the loss of life. This has to be a nightmare. Why would Hawkmoth just cancel out an akuma like this?

She raced into Master Fu's house once she arrived. "Master Fu we have a problem," she said as she showed him the Cat Miraculous.

Master Fu looked at it and sighed, "I did not anticipate this."

"Why did you have me keep you a secret from him?" She yelled her body shaking. This was her fault, she wanted to tell Cat Noir about Master Fu but was repeatedly told not to.

"Marinette I swear this will work out I'll speak to him myself," Master Fu said as he sipped some tea.

She shook her head. "Anyway what should I do about the city? Should I use the lucky charm?"

Master Fu gave her a sorrowful look, "I'm afraid it won't work at the moment. Without an akuma to purify we cannot undo the damage.

Her body trembled, "B-But there must be something we can do?"

"I'm sorry but for now we cannot fix anything," Master Fu said his face grave. "For now we can only wait."

Nathalie went into Adrien's room, "Adrien are you going to school today?" She asked hopefully.

Adrien only shook his head, his once bright eyes were now dull as he wrapped himself up in the sheets. "I don't feel like it," he said wrapping the sheets around him.

"Adrien you haven't gotten out of bed in three you have a photo shoot tomorrow," she said. "Your father will be disappointed if you don't go."

Adrien looked at her with a lifeless gaze that broke her heart, "I've always disappointed others so what's new?"

She looked at his bodyguard who shook his head sadly. When Adrien was found he nearly had hypothermia and now for some reason he was getting more depressed by the day. Despite a visit to the doctor his mood had not changed at all.

"Well at least eat something later," she said before leaving the room.

Adrien please get better we all are worried about you. She looked at the security cameras on her tablet. Ever since Adrien decided to swim home and started having depression she ordered every guard to monitor the Agreste estate with diligence. Adrien was not to be let out of sight and his room and surrounding areas were constantly monitored by cameras and guards.

She knocked on Gabriel's door. "Enter," Gabriel said from the other side.

When she entered Gabriel Agreste's brow was furrowed as he looked through his computer. "So much chaos from that last akuma yet the strongest emotion is my son's depression," Gabriel said gripping the pen in his hand tightly. "Has he even gotten out of bed today?"

She shook her head. "He hasn't. He also has not eaten in a few days. Sir I believe this depression is serious."

"He is an Agreste he should be strong!" Gabriel said slamming his fist into his desk. "What does he have to be depressed over? I let him go to that school and let him have friends what more could he be depressed about? He is an Agreste he should just man up."

She gulped down the lump in her throat and took a deep breath. "Sir if I may say it may be a delayed reaction to his mother's situation," she said carefully. "He may have been hiding the pain but maybe he can't hide it anymore."

"Nonsense we all are struggling," Gabriel said as he stood up. "I'll talk to him myself"

That's not a good idea. But she saw the look in his eyes and knew it would be better to not say anything. This won't end well. She followed Gabriel as he headed to his son's room. Oh god please be gentle. She stood outside as Gabriel kicked the door open and entered the room.

A shouting match occurred as soon as Gabriel tried talking with him. Oh boy this isn't good.

"I don't care!" Adrien yelled.

"You shall not speak to me like that!" Gabriel yelled loudly. "What would your mother think seeing you act like this?" She winced at his tone, Adrien had always been a calm child to hear him yell like this was new to hear.

"Maybe I should join her if I'm such a disappointment!" Adrien sobbed his voice a mixture of anger and sorrow.

Her body shuddered as Gabriel stormed out of Adrien's room slamming the door behind him. "Sir I think he just needs time to process whatever is going on with him," she said softly as she followed Gabriel to his study.

"He is an Agreste he should be strong," Gabriel said as he sat down on his seat and put his face on his hands. "He has never yelled at me like that." She could feel the emotion in his voice and see the sorrow in his eyes.

"Maybe he just needs a break?" she carefully suggested. "It doesn't have to be long but if he keeps these emotions bottled up forever it will harm him, I fear for the worst if he doesn't improve."

Gabriel sighed as he rubbed his eyes. "Every day when I try to find another akuma victim the strongest emotion I can find is Adrien's depression," he said softly. "He is angry and sad at something, as a father I want to help him." He shook his head. "I won't be able to look her in the eye if she found out I akumatized him."

"Just give him some time to work out whatever he needs," she said softly. "Don't forget that he is still a child."

"I know," Gabriel said as he cleaned his glasses. "I can't leave my work here yet Adrien cannot remain in Paris given his current status." He sighed and sat back in his chair looking at her.

"Nathalie send him to London immediately. Alert his aunt that he needs to stay with her," Gabriel clenched his fists tightly. "Make sure this is done with the upmost haste so as to not draw any unwanted attention."

"Understood," she said as a wave of relief washed over her. "Shall I cancel the photoshoots he has planned?"

Gabriel nodded, "Cancel them and take him out of school and fencing, but do it discreetly I don't want any unwanted attention on us." The paparazzi had been hounding the mansion but a police barricade was enough to deter them from trying to enter.

"Understood sir," she said. "I shall deal with it immediately."

Gabriel nodded as she left the room. Thank you Gabriel. I know how you can be harsh at times but right now Adrien is really down and just needs some time to himself. She took a deep breath as she knocked on Adrien's door and opened it.

She exchanged a look with his bodyguard before turning to Adrien who was in his bed his face blank as he stared at the wall. "Adrien we are going on a special trip to London get ready at once."

Adrien looked at her and didn't respond. She took a deep breath and looked at him, "Adrien we are just going on a small vacation but we need to leave now. Get ready at once or your bodyguard will do it for you. Your father insisted."

Adrien sighed, "Fine. I figured sooner or later he would want me to leave."

The hollowness of his words pierced her heart. "Get him ready at once and look after him," she said looking at his bodyguard who nodded.

She left the room and closed the door behind him. Taking a deep breath she fought the tears in her eyes. Adrien I hope you get well. With a sigh she looked down at her tablet and made the preparations that needed to be done. I really hope your aunt and cousin can help you.

AN: Well here is my first multip chapter story for miraculous. I plan to focus on Adrien and his relationship with Felix here. I'm completely disregarding the sentimonster theory in this story and anything after the episode Syren will be different.
