Ch9
Felix unpacked his things as he looked out the window of his room in the Agreste mansion. Well so far so good all I have to do it get his dad doesn't get too suspicious of me. Truthfully he didn't get along with Adrien's dad for a variety of reasons but now he needed to help his cousin. Mom's right Adrien is family and his dad isn't the best influence on him but I'll make sure Adrien is safe.
There was a knock on his door, he was expecting to see Adrien but was surprised to see his uncle's assistant Nathalie. "Felix Mr. Agreste would like to speak to you."
He looked at her with a calm gaze and nodded. "I'll be right there." Calm down play my cards right. He wants Adrien safe so do I we both have a common ground even if he is a piece of work..
Putting his phone in his pocket he followed Nathalie to his uncle's room. Inside he found Gabriel Agreste sitting in his chair with his usual stern expression. "Sit," his uncle said pointing to the chair across from him.
Without betraying any emotion he sat across from his uncle as Nathalie closed the door behind him and stood next to his uncle.
He stared at his uncle who stared back with his steely gaze. After about a minute his uncle folded his arms. "Adrien insisted you come with him, personally I want him to go back to his usual routine."
You mean him in a cage and under your influence. He did his best to remain calm, he had to play this well. "When my cousin came to my and my mother he was hardly responsive to anyone. He is the way he is now because of us."
His uncle's brow furrowed. "I appreciate your efforts to help him but now that he is better he shall continue on with his life."
"I agree," he said folding his arms. "You want to protect him and so do I."
"I don't need anyone's help to protect Adrien," Gabriel said firmly his voice betraying irritation. "As soon as possible you will return to London."
He stared at his uncle calmly. "I know you don't care for me and my mother uncle but we all care for Adrien. His condition is stable for now but can afford an accident? I was able to get him out of his depression when no one else could."
The two stared at each other, his uncle barely hid the contempt in his eyes for him, surprisingly Nathalie spoke up. "It's just for a while sir, let Adrien recuperate. He needs it."
Frankly he was surprised by the sincerity in Nathalie's words, perhaps since she spent more time with Adrien she had familial feelings towards him.
Gabriel looked at him with irritation. "Fine you may stay so long as you stay out of my way. You may go."
There was a hint of a threat in his voice but he ignored it and nodded. "Thank you uncle."
Gabriel motioned for him to leave. Thank goodness you're thinking with your head uncle. Nathalie opened the door and closed it as soon as he left the office.
Heading back upstairs he decided to check on his cousin. He found Adrien in his room looking longingly out the window while his bodyguard was reading a book on the sofa "You ok?"
Adrien turned to him and gave him a small smile. "I am. Were you talking with my dad?"
"I was," he said entering the room and walking up to his cousin who dismissed his bodyguard.
"Hope he wasn't too hard on you," Adrien said looking down at the ground as the room to the door closed. "He can be hard on a lot of people."
"Don't worry I can handle him," he said. "How are you feeling?"
"Alright," Adrien sighed looking longingly around his room. "It's good to be back. Are you sure you want to get involved in this?"
"I do," he said firmly. "We are family. We should stand by each other."
"Cat Noir is strong you could get hurt," Adrien said the fear creeping into his voice. "This is all my fault if only I wasn't so emotional."
"Hey stop that," he said placing a firm hand on his cousin's shoulder. He looked into Adrien's gaze. "You are a good person who wanted to help people yet you shouldn't let other mistreat you. The past is the past the only thing you can do is move on."
Adrien nodded and looked up at the sky. "I wonder if I can fully get over her though."
"It will take time," He said. "But if this miraculous is important to you then I'll help you get it. I know you've helped a lot of people with it, who knows maybe you can help even more."
Adrien smiled at him and he saw a flicker of light in his eyes. "Thanks Felix."
He nodded. "Has your kwami tried to contact you?"
Adrien avoided his gaze and nodded. "Yeah we talked. He wants to be with me too but the guardian has reservations."
"Well if he wants to be with you even better," He said. "Hopefully he can work things out with this guardian."
"Me too," Adrien said. "You know it may be selfish of me but I loved the freedom being a hero gave me."
He shrugged. "We sometimes have to be selfish to get what we need and want. Have you thought of your plan once you regain your miraculous?"
"What do you mean?" Adrien asked.
He raised an eyebrow. "To put it bluntly are you going to continue being a doormat for others or will you be a hero in your own right?"
"I'm not sure," Adrien muttered as his phone rang. "Oh it's Kagami she'll be here soon."
"Good to know," he said. "I'll be in my room making preparations, I suggest you think about the kind hero you want to be instead of chasing what others want for you."
Calm down if he wants her help fine. The more help the better besides she does have good things about her. If she supports Adrien the better. Plus he had to admit she was kind of cute even if she seemed to prefer his cousin.
As soon as he went into his room he closed the door and reached for the special suitcase he brought with him. Opening it he pulled out the dark suit he made. I've used the strongest materials I could find. It won't be easy going up against a superhero but I will go in prepared.
Though not having a miraculous he was proficient in many martial arts and could more than handle himself in a fight against an adult. I'll just make to not get hurt too badly sneak the miraculous off of him and get going.
He carefully examined the outfit tracing his fingers along the fabric. If things go badly this will be the fight of my life, I could get really hurt. He sighed and shook his head. "I'll do it for him."
Adrien was family even if they had their ups and downs he wanted to protect him and make him happy. Besides him being a superhero may come with some added benefits in the future. A smile spread across his face as he examined his outfit for any defects. The family will always come first for better or for worse.
He loved his mother deeply and he likewise cared for Adrien a lot and would do anything to make sure he was happy and well. The memories of their happy childhood adventures filled his head as he took out his laptop and watched videos of the Cat Noir (his cousin) and the new Cat Noir to examine their fighting styles.
This new one fights in a similar style but isn't as aggressive. He folded his arms watching a video of the new female Cat Noir fight. He examined every detail in her movements and strikes. It was obvious she was still getting used to being Cat Noir but he still wasn't going to let his guard down.
Pausing the video he zoomed in on the ring on her finger, the miraculous which was his current target. According to Adrien the transformation will be undone if it is off. The miraculous is a powerful tool. I imagine she will be stealthy but hey I've taken rings off of people before.
He nodded. It won't be easy but I've been up against tough odds before. After studying his target he closed his laptop and decided to see his cousin.
Adrien was in his room with Kagama Tsurugi who was looking at him with a neutral expression. "Hey Kagami how was your flight?"
"Alright," Kagami said. "You look well yourself, are you still planning to go up against this superhero?"
He nodded. "If need be I will."
"Hopefully it doesn't come to that," Adrien said firmly. "We want to get it back with the least amount of damage as possible."
Well I doubt the guardian will just give it back to you but keep an open mind. "Do you still wish to help us?" He asked Kagami.
Kagami nodded and stood up. "I am more than capable of helping out. I brought my fencing equipment want to see how good I am?"
He raised an eyebrow. "If you insist." A part of him was curious about what she could do. "Lets take it outside."
"Alright guys just don't hurt each other," Adrien sighed as Kagami grabbed her fencing stuff from her bag.
"Don't worry I won't get hurt," he said before going to grab his fencing gear.
Just think of this as a warmup. After getting ready he met Kagami out in the backyard who was gripping her sword with a calm expression.
Adrien stood between them and raised his hand before bringing it down. "Alright you two en guarde!"
Kagami charged at him, her strikes cutting through the air so quickly he barely could see them. Not bad. He parried the strikes and tried to land an attack but she was quick and blocked them.
The sweat began to form on his from as he dodged her blade. She sure is head strong. He dodger blade his arm beginning to ache as he managed to thrust it at an opening.
"Point Felix!" Adrien said.
They both got back into starting position before Adrien started the next round. Kagami came at him with renewed vigor. Her attacks were ferocious and precise putting him on the defensive.
He blocked her attacks looking for an opening. As fierce as a tiger. A smile spread across his face beneath his mask as he slowly pushed back against her. Kagami blocked his strikes but he was relentless in his strikes doing his best to find an opening.
Kagami tried to get an opening but he narrowly dodged it and took the opening to strike at her chest. "Point Felix!" Adrien called out.
He heard Kagami swear in Japanese underneath her mask. "Alright final round," Adrien said.
This time he went on the offensive. His sword flashed in the sunlight as Kagami blocked it and was put on the defensive. Sweat began to form on his face as he slowly pressed her back.
Kagami tried to fight back but he blocked her strikes were starting to get lazy while he began to go on the offensive. Kagami lunged at him and he took the opportunity to thrust it at her stomach.
"Point Felix!" Adrien said. "Alright Felix you won this match."
He sighed and took off his mask. "Not bad," Kagami said taking her mask off.
"Likewise." Looking at Kagami he could see why Adrien was friends with her. She was cunning and strong and deep down he thought she was kind of cute.
As soon as Adrien left he cleared his throat. "I know you care for my cousin, but if you really care about him give him space."
Kagami frowned. "What do you mean?"
He folded his arms. "He isn't comfortable with people getting up close to him, all I'm saying is give him some space. If you want to pursue a relationship do it when he is mentally at ease."
Surprisingly Kagami nodded. "I understand. My mother wants us to get together quickly but I also know Adrien is hurting right now. I'll do my best to not suffocate him." She then turned to her sword and played with it. "If you're going to fight a tiger be ruthless."
He met her gaze. "I already am."
Adrien sighed as he rested on his bed. Well I'm glad Kagami and Felix somewhat get along. A part of him was guilty for getting them involved in this, especially Felix. Please take this seriously and don't get hurt.
He noticed some movement out of the corner of his eyes. Turning around he saw Plagg hiding in the corner.
"H-Hey Adrien," Plagg said sitting on his desk side lamp.
"Hey Plagg," He said.
The two stared at each other awkwardly but he decided to break the ice. "I hope you are well."
"I haven't been well in a while," Plagg said his gaze turning droopy. "It's not the same without you."
"I'm sorry for everything," He said looking at his kwami. "If I hadn't acted up we'd still be together."
Plagg shook his head. "You had every right to be upset at me, the guardian, and even Ladybug. A team should work as one and not hide things." The kwami paused before looking up at him. "Adrien do you really want me back?"
He looked the kwami in the eyes. "More than anything Plagg. Only if you want to though."
The kwami flew to his chest and hugged. "I miss you so much. I think the guardian is going to force me to be someone else's kwami."
His body froze. "It's all my fault," he muttered. "Sorry for being a brat."
Plagg looked up at him with fiery determination in his eyes. "Don't worry I'll make sure we get reunited. I'll do all I can do be with you."
"Well hopefully we can do this without any problem," he said shifting in his bed. "But I do want us to be together again."
Plagg smiled at him. "You really are my favorite Cat Noir, the best I ever had."
A pang hit his heart, he almost wanted to tear up. "Thanks that means a lot." He scratched his head. "Hey Plagg I was thinking you know if we are together again what if we were more independent?"
"What do you mean?" Plagg asked.
He sighed. "Its just I know I didn't always respect Ladybug's boundaries and always stuck to her shadow. I was thinking what if we became a little more independent from her." Truthfully his time with Felix made him want to reflect on his past, he wanted to help people but he needed to be a strong hero himself.
Plagg looked at him his expression unreadable. "Well if you want distance from her I think it's a good idea to keep your relationship professional and don't worry I promise I won't hold things from you anymore."
He smiled and cleaned his eyes. "For the sake of Paris I will with Ladybug but I will do my best to make our relationship strictly professional." Deep down he still had feelings her, despite her replacing him right away his heart couldn't lie. But for himself and Paris he would improve to be a strong hero.
"Well I'll support you," Plagg said firmly. "I better get going, I'll try to convince the guardian." The kwami's gaze then darkened. "I'll fight for you Adrien that is the choice I choose to stand by."
"Good luck." The two hugged before the kwami flew out the window. Be safe Plagg.
