Ch10

Marinette cried as tears fell down from her face. "Why Tikki. Why do they all believe her," she sobbed as she cleaned her face. Lila had struck again. Why did all of her friends believe her? Now because of Lila's antics, she was suspended from school.

"It's alright Marinette the truth will come to light sooner or later," Tikki said softly.

She cleaned her face with a tissue. "What's worse Adrien still hasn't responded." Tears fell down her face. At the moment even the slightest message from her crush would make up for everything that had happened that day yet her knight in shining armor was nowhere to be seen.

Yet looking at her phone Adrien hadn't responded to her. He responded to Nino though to thank everyone. Bitter tears fell down her face. They are friends but we have something more, a love that will burn brightly in the future. Why was Adrien so blind to the obvious?

A knock on the door snapped her out of her misery. Turning around she saw Alya enter with a concerned look on her face. "Hey Marinette are you ok?"

"I'm just sick of this," she muttered cleaning her face. "Why does everyone believe her? I'm suspended now because of that."

Alya came in and sat down next to her and patted her back. "Listen I'm sure things will come around."

"I didn't do it," she muttered shaking her head. "She is lying its all she does. You believe me right?"

Alya avoided her gaze. "Of course."

Her friend didn't sound convinced and that hurt her more. We are a team. I chose you to be Cat Noir. We've been through so much why do you doubt me?

"Anyway Nino says Adrien is doing ok though he wants to keep a low profile," Alya said as she got up. "I'm sure he'll return to school soon. Don't worry I'm sure things will work out with school. I'll go talk with Nino to see if we can think of something."

She didn't say anything as her friend left. What can be done? If only Adrien would send me a message. It doesn't have to be big just something to know that he is ok. That would make me feel better.

"Marinette its ok," Tikki said trying to console her.

"How is it ok?" She sobbed. "He hasn't so much as spoken to me yet talks to Chloe?" Tears fell down her face as her kwami tried to console her. "Am I nothing to him? I love him dearly, why is he ignoring me like this? I poured my feelings into those texts and he just discards them."

"Well um maybe you can go see him yourself," Tikki said. "You don't have to wait for him to come to you."

She looked at her kwami and smiled. "You know you're right. I shouldn't wallow in my pity." A fiery determination burned inside of her as she stood up. "I'll go see him now!"

After got herself composed and cleaned herself up and left her house. "Marinette are you sure about this right now?" Tikki said. "Why don't you wait a bit and calm down first."

"I need to see him," she said firmly as she made her way to the Agreste mansion. "I need to at least know he is ok. I need this Tikki, after everything with Lila I need this." She knew Adrien could fix things, he always did.

Her kwami gave her a nervous look but went and hid in her bag as she went up to the Agreste mansion. Her heart pounded in her chest as she hit the buzzer. "Hello who is this?" A voice said from the other side. It was strange, it sounded like a guy instead of Nathalie. Could it be his bodyguard?

She felt the camera lock onto her but it didn't deter her. "I'm Marinette. I'm a friend of Adrien from school may I speak to him?"

"Adrien isn't seeing anyone at the moment have a nice day," The voice said before hanging up.

Her blood boiled. We'll see about that. She would see Adrien one way or another. With a huff she quickly went to the side of the building and scanned the area. I could go as Ladybug. No I have to do it myself, he would do the same for me I know it.

She arrived at the part of the house right behind Adrien's window. She jumped at the thought of her love being just a few feet from her. So close. A smile spread across her face as she saw a series of boxes near the trash bins.

"Marinette I don't think this is a good idea," Tikki warned as she arranged the boxes and trash cans in the shape of a few stairs.

"Don't worry he wont' be mad," she said firmly. "Come on lets see Adrien!" After everything that went wrong in school with Lila Adrien was the only person who could make her feel better. Besides, the clothes he wore in the few photos he had posted screamed that he wanted to see her too.

The boxes shook as she climbed on top of them. Come on just be steady. The foundation wasn't that sturdy but she carefully climbed the stairs she made and managed to grab the ledge of the wall. Got it! A smile spread across her face as she gripped the edge with both of her hands. She tried to hoist herself up, the boxes beneath her were wobbling uncontrollably.

Just a little bit more. The boxes began to topple over and fall her legs began to dangle but luckily she had a firm grip on the wall. Using all over strength she attempted to climb over the wall. Her arms shook as she pulled herself up on the ledge, that was when the alarm rang.

"Agh!" She screamed as she fell into the trash. The trash cushioned her fall but a trash can also fell on top of her covering her in trash. Her heart raced as the alarm blared around the Agreste mansion. Damn it. I have to get out of here.

She got up and was about to leave when a voice called out in the distance. "There she is grab her!"

She turned around to see a boy who looked eerily similar to Adrien and a few bodyguards. "Uh sorry I was just passing by," she said with a nervous laugh.

The kid just frowned as she felt multiple people pin her down. "Hey wait what gives?" She protested as she was forcibly dragged into the Agreste mansion.

"Save it for my uncle," The boy said with a cold glare.

Who is he? She frowned at the uncanny resemblance to Adrien. Was he a relative of his? She didn't have much time to think as she was escorted into the Agreste mansion like a criminal.

"Wait this is a misunderstanding," she begged as she was dragged to the room Gabriel Agreste used. Oh god this could be bad.

The boy knocked on the door and let himself in. "Uncle we have a situation," the boy said as she was dragged into the room.

Gabriel Agreste frowned. "What is it Felix? I heard the alarm go off."

The boy named Felix pointed at her with an accusatory look. "She is Adrien's stalker! She just tried breaking in to see him!"

"Wait what? No I'm not a stalker!" She protested.

Gabriel Agreste looked her over his eyes like a mother bear analyzing a threat to her cub. "A stalker you say? Aren't you one of Adrien's classmates?"

"I am," she said quickly. "We are friends and-"

Felix cut her off. "She sent Adrien a bunch of inappropriate texts while he was away." The boy showed Gabriel his phone. "She constantly stalks him, Adrien was too nice to say no."

"Wait that's not true!" She protested. "We are friends! Wait no more than friends you have to believe me Mr. Agreste."

Mr. Agreste's neutral face turned into a deeper scowl as he looked at the phone. "Has she done this before?" Mr. Agreste asked coldly.

Felix nodded. "Adrien always said he noticed her follow him wherever he went."

It was as if her world were slowly falling around her. "No wait this is a misunderstanding," she said quickly. Tears fell down her face. "Please let me speak to him. I'm sure he'll clear things up." She tried to think of something to say, to get out of it but her words were falling on deaf ears.

Mr. Agreste looked at her with a gaze so cold she tensed up. "I work hard young lady. Yet when it comes to my son you better believe I will do anything to protect him." He then leaned closer to her his eyes as cold as the Arctic Ocean. "Want me to show you how I handle stalkers who harass my family?"

Her body quivered under Gabriel's cold gaze. "No wait please," she begged tears falling down her face.

"Father what's going on," said a voice that lifted her spirits.

Turning around she saw Adrien he looked just as lovely as she remembered. "Adrien please tell your dad-" Yet she froze at the person next to him.

A Japanese girl with blue hair was protectively holding Adrien's arm. It was like a dagger stabbed her in the heart. No. Tears fell down her face as she fought to find the right words. "A-Adrien please," she begged. You were supposed to ask me out not anyone else.

"Adrien this girl just tried to break in and see you," Felix said glaring at her. "She did it right where your room is too. Whatever her intentions are they aren't normal."

Adrien stared at her with a shocked expression. "Marinette please tell me you didn't."

She couldn't say anything, his gaze was full of disappointment. "Adrien I just wanted to see you," she sobbed tears falling down her eyes.

"See for yourself son," Mr. Agreste said as he pulled up the security footage on his computer. The video of her climbing the mountain of trash to try and get into the room was on full display. Adrien's mouth fell open any sympathy in his eyes was replaced by disbelief.

"A criminal like her should be jailed," Felix said folding his arms. "Stalking and attempting to break in are crimes."

"Indeed," The girl next to Adrien said. "She obviously needs help."

She felt another stab at her heart as Adrien held her hand and slowly nodded looking her in the eyes. "Marinette I know you have an unhealthy obsession with me. You sent all of those messages, the video, and now this? Marinette we aren't dating and frankly, I don't see us dating after all of this."

"Wh-What do you mean?" She said feeling like she had just been running over and left for dead. "Adrien what do you mean by that?"

"What my cousin means is that he doesn't want a stalker like you around harassing him," Felix said folding his arms. "Uncle I believe we should call the police and file a restraining order."

Tears fell down her eyes but to her surprise, Adrien stepped forward. "Don't make it too hard on her. She is still young and was nice to me when we were classmates. Please father just give her a warning and don't do anything else, I don't want to make this a bigger deal right now. I mean afterall I already have enough media attention on me, I don't want anymore trouble."

Mr. Agreste folded his arms. "Fine I'll make it easy this time as a warning. Young lady you stalk my son again and infringe on his privacy and personal space I'll make sure you get locked up for a long time. Take her away now! Get this stalker out of my sight!"

With a flick of his wrist, she was dragged out of the room. Tears fell down her face, Adrien didn't so much as look at her as she was thrown out of the house and thrown onto the street like a criminal.

She sobbed as tears fell down her face. "He rejected me and found someone else," she sobbed as she slowly got up.

"Come on Marinette lets just go home," Tikki said softly. "You've had a long day lets just rest. Please don't get akumatized."

"I'll try not to" she said softly as tears fell down her face. "I can't believe he rejected me like that," she sobbed as she forced herself to return home.

"It's alright maybe you can explain things to him some other day," Tikki said softly. "For now lets just calm down."

She nodded as she headed back home with a broken heart. Adrien Agreste did not love her and had another girl.

Adrien found Nino at the park, after begging his father to not go after Marinette legally they agreed to have Nathalie speak to Marinette's parents. I can't believe she tried breaking into my house. He shook his head, hopefully she could get some help. Marinette was a good person deep down but she had to calm down with whatever feelings she had towards him.

"Hey dude!" Nino ran to him and the two hugged. "It's been forever you ok?"

He hugged him back. "Yeah I'm better, listen I have to talk to you about something."

"What is it?" Nino asked as they both sat on a park bench.

He took a deep breath and sighed. "I know you and Marinette have known each other forever but she crossed a few lines."

Nino remained silent as he explained the things Marinette did, though his jaw dropped as he showed him the walls of text and the video of her trying to sneak into his house. "Dude I don't know what to say," Nino said softly. "I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," He said putting his phone away. "Listen I need you to be honest with me, how long has this been going on?"

Nino rubbed the back of his neck. "I know she has a big crush on you but I didn't she would go this far." Nino paused and frowned. "Never mind she does have your schedule memorized and according to Alya she stole your phone once."

His jaw dropped. "What?" He didn't know he should be upset by how casual Nino said it almost as if it were some joke.

"Don't worry I'll talk to her I promise," Nino said firmly. "You have a right to privacy and she crossed a lot of boundaries."

"You better." He sighed. "My dad was furious, he's on the warpath and trust me you don't want to see him when he's actually there for me."

Nino grimaced. "I believe you."

He stood up. "Well thanks for talking I better get going now."

Nino smiled. "Glad you're back dude."

"Just to let you know I am against what she did, I feel violated in a way," he said.

"I'm sorry." Nino said.

With that the two hugged and he got back into his limo. I honestly hope father doesn't bring hell on Marinette. When he arrived back home he found Kagami and Felix talking in the living room.

"How was your trip?" Felix asked.

He sighed as he sat next to Kagami and across from Felix. "I can't believe she tried breaking in here."

He shook his head as Kagami placed a hand on his shoulder. "Even the nicest people can hide cruel intentions. It is good that your father was made aware of this girl and her obsession with you."

Felix nodded. "Trust me you have to handle stalkers with a firm hand."

"I just feel like she doesn't deserve jail time or anything like that."

"Fine if you want we can discuss can try to convince your dad to just let her off with a cease and desist," Felix said. "That way no more attention is drawn to you and that girl is given a very strong warning."

He nodded. "That would be great. She is a nice person deep I'm sure of it." She just needs to get over this obsession over me, it isn't healthy.

"Anyway Adrien are we still going to do what we planned?" Felix said folding his arms. "You mentioned that this kwami spoke to you is that right?"

"Yeah he did," he sighed. "However, this guardian won't just give the miraculous back to me."

"Well then I suppose we take things into our own hands then?" Kagami said.

"I don't know it won't be easy taking it by force," he said scratching his head. "To be honest I would prefer to do it as peacefully as possible."

"Well sometimes if you want something you need to fight for it," Felix said firmly. "Adrien do you want it back?"

He shifted in his seat as he felt Felix and Kagami staring at him. Slowly he nodded. "I do."

"Well then I say we get prepared to fight," Felix said.

He nodded. A fire burned inside of him. He would no longer be a passive player in his own life, he would fight for his own happiness.

Plagg glared at Master Fu. "He wants me back why can't I go back to him."

The guardian sighed. "I think you'll be better with Alya. Adrien hasn't proven he is worthy of working with Ladybug. Perhaps if he were to demonstrate his worth I'll consider it but for now I think Alya would make a great owner."

He frowned at the guardian. "Fine. You'll have to force me to break my connection with Adrien."

With that he flew back into the box and closed his eyes thinking of the miraculous with which he was connected to. I swear bad luck will fall upon the ones who separate me from Adrien.

His power was bad luck and he was going to use it one way or another. It was a dirty trick to curse a miraculous but he had done worse for people he cared less about. He focuses his essence short of actually using his powers and releasing it. A light wave of energy rippled throughout the area and the cat miraculous glowed ominously.

Adrien lets be united again. He was going to fight for his friend, the one he had loved so much.
