Ch11
Nathalie stood in front of Hawkmoth, his fist clenched as he looked out his window. "How dare she try to get close to Adrien," Hawkmoth growled. "All I can feel are her emotions. I'm so tempted but the risks."
She took a deep breath. "Sir you've lost control of akumas in the past. This girl has an unhealthy obsession over Adrien, if you lose control for a moment could you face your wife when she returns?" Her heart raced in her chest, she had already gone with a lawyer to give the cease and desist letter to the Dupain-Chang family and they agreed to control their daughter.
Hawkmoth swore and pulled away. "You're right I'll go for another target."
She breathed an internal sigh of relief.
Marinette lay in bed her floor littered with tissues. Adrien has a girlfriend. He doesn't want me. Those two thoughts hurt like two knives in her heart. She wanted to scream and cry at how unfair it was that he rejected her. How could he do this to me? We are meant for each other I know it.
She thought her parents would understand. At first her father was furious that Adrien rejected her but then Mr. Agreste's secretary Nathalie came in this morning with a cease and desist letter along with video evidence of her attempted break in and print outs of all of the messages she sent Adrien.
Her father was still upset but Nathalie was polite and said that they would not file for a restraining order out of the good will Adrien had towards her family. Her mother managed to calm the situation and everyone calmed down. Except for her broken heart, that could never be mended.
"Marinette honey are you ok?" Her mom asked from the other side of the door. She didn't respond as her mother came in "Marinette sweety do you want to talk about what happened?"
She shook her head. "He doesn't want me. We were supposed to be together forever."
Her mother sighed and shook her head. "Well dear you can't force others to like you. Adrien is a good boy but I could tell you have some unhealthy feelings for him." Her mother looked at the countless photos on the wall including Adrien's schedule on the wall with unease. "Marinette you should take these down. Nathalie and Mr. Agreste were polite enough to not press charges. If they found out that you have his schedule and all of these pictures of him and his schedule I don't even want to think about what they would do."
"But mom I do it because I love him," she croaked. "Can't you understand that I love him dearly." Tears fell down her face her mom gave her a sympathetic look and went over to comfort her. "It's not fair. Why is he with another girl and not me? Why would he reject me like that?"
Her mother sighed and hugged her. "It's alright dear just let it out. There is a difference between love and obsession dear. Adrien must have left for some very personal reasons. He must value his personal space and you inadvertently violated it."
"But I didn't mean to," she protested tears falling down her face.
"Well it doesn't matter if you meant it or not. The fact is that you made him feel very uncomfortable," Her mother said firmly. "You sent him a bunch of messages while he was trying to get some personal space and now you tried breaking into his house. Marinette I know you have been going through a lot lately, please don't do anything rash. We still have to work on getting you back in school."
"I know," she muttered as her mother got up. Her heart was still broken, shattered in a million pieces that left an overwhelming numbing sensation inside of her. Yet despite that, she knew she had to go on forward with her life.
"Anyway rest well dear. Get rid of the schedule and all these photos. Try to go outside if you can your father and I are delivering an order to the Grand Paris Hotel," her mother said as she got up and left.
She nodded and rested in her head flicking through her phone. She heard her parents leave the bakery for whatever occasion they were going to leaving her alone in the house. "You know maybe I could use some fresh air," she muttered.
Her body still felt numb as she washed her face and got dressed. When she left her house she was greeted by a familiar boy with blue hair.
"Hello Marinette I heard you were down?" Luka said with a carefree smile.
"H-Hey Luka," she said feeling her heart flutter. "Y-Yeah I've had some personal problems lately."
Seeing the blue haired boy made something in her stir. Maybe I can start anew? Her heart still ached but Luka was always there for her.
"Well if you want I could play you this song I've been working on?" Luka said as he took out his guitar. "I made it just for you."
"Th-Thanks," she said with a smile. "That would actually be nice."
She had to admit that Luka was a great guy, deep down she felt something different for him something more than friendship. Maybe I should love someone else? It was a small whisper in her head but as Luka played his guitar she could feel the care in each note he played.
Luka had been of great help to her both as a civilian and a superhero. He is a great guy maybe we can be something more? She cleaned her face as Luka finished playing. "Thank I feel much better."
Luka smiled at her. "Thanks but I still have a lot to do. I still haven't found the perfect song for you."
"Well when you do I'll be the first to hear it," she said. "Anyway I-"
A scream in the distance caused them both to turn around. "What is that?" Luka asked pointing to a large floating head in the sky.
"An akuma!" she gasped as she grabbed Luka's arm and pulled him inside. "I have to go find my parents. Stay here ok."
Luka gave her a concerned look but nodded. "Fine promise me you'll be safe?'
"I will," she said feeling a bit flustered. "I'll be back as soon as I can stay here ok?"
Luka nodded as she left the bakery. As soon as she ran to an alley she took a deep breath. "Tikki spots on!"
As soon as she transformed she raced through the skies and observed the akuma attack people. I need to find Master Fu. I'll need help for this.
She raced around the city before she noticed a carnival where a familiar old Chinese man was working. She landed in front of him. "Master Fu I need your help."
Master Fu avoided her gaze. "Young lady are you sure about this?"
"Not now we don't have much time," she insisted. "I need Alya and other people now."
Master Fu sighed. "Fine follow me."
She quickly followed him to the ticket booth where Master Fu showed her the miraculous box. "Take what you need Ladybug."
She took the Cat miraculous when the snake miraculous caught her attention. Luka could help me too. She grabbed both of them. "Thank you. I'll be right back."
Master Fu smiled at her just as she ran out of the carnival. I can do this. Her heart pounded in her chest as she swung around the city of Paris. Her feelings for Adrien would have to wait for now.
Felix took a deep breath as he put on the dark black suit he made along with the Kabuki mask. "Felix are you sure about this?" Adrien asked. "I mean I want to be Cat Noir again but I don't want you to get hurt either."
"Don't worry I can do this," he said giving his cousin a small smile. "We are family we should help each other out."
You want your happiness? I'll go to hell and back to make sure you are happy. He knew Adrien would do the same for him.
Kagami came into the room. "Adrien the akuma is running amok. Ladybug is fighting it with the hero Viperion."
"Where is Cat Noir?" He asked.
Kagami looked at her tablet. "She appears to be going towards them as we speak."
"Should we go?" He asked looking at his cousin.
Adrien looked to the ground and nodded. "Fine lets do this."
"We should hurry," Kagami said.
"Be safe," Adrien said looking at him with a concerned look. "And don't cause too much trouble."
He smiled at his cousin. "Don't worry I won't." I know how to avoid trouble.
His heart raced in his chest as he got into Adrien's limo with his cousin and Kagami. "Alright here is the net gun," Kagami said as she handed it to him. "We'll be in the distance if you need us.
"Sounds good," he said as he gripped the gun.
"Cat Noir is heading East. We'll drop you off not far off," Kagami said. "It appears as if he is avoiding densely populated areas so you don't have to worry about fighting."
"Good to know," he said as the car stopped.
Adrien gave him a worried look. "Be safe ok?"
He nodded. "Don't worry I will."
The car stopped and he got out of the car with his weapons in hand. Alright kitty cat where are you? As the car drove away he climbed a stairwell and made his way up to the roof of an apartment.
Gripping the net gun in his hand he crouched down on the roof. Come here little kitty let me take you out.
The wind rustled around him as he carefully looked around. Looking at his phone he had a message from Kagami. She is close by and should be coming from your east. Putting his phone away he looked eastward and saw a figure leap from the rooftops.
Time to put this cat in the bag. He crouched down and aimed the net gun at Cat Noir. As soon as he got a good shot at her he fired the gun. The girl didn't realize what was happening before it was too late and quickly was captured by the net and fell to the ground in the alley near where he was at.
Lets do this. He put on his mask and quickly went over to where the superhero fell. Gripping a baton he arrived just in time to see Cat Noir struggle to get out of the net.
"Looks like I got a cat in the bag," he mocked from beneath the mask.
Cat Noir got out of the net and threw it to the side. "Who are you? Are you with Hawkmoth?"
He smiled and laughed at the girl. "Less talking little girl."
With that he lunged at Cat Noir. The girl must not have been thinking he would attack as she quickly took a few steps back. "Hey listen I don't want to fight you," she protested as she dodged his attacks.
"Well too bad I do," he said as he swung his rod at her.
Cat Noir frowned as she took out her baton and countered his attacks. "I have no time for this." She punched him back, he swore as something broke inside of him. "I don't know who you are but stay away!"
Damn it. He spat out blood from underneath his mask his vision going blurry. He thought of Adrien and his smile. I'll do this for you, we are family after all.
Cat Noir lunged at him and punched him in the got. His eyes widened but instead of falling he moved up close to her and punched her in the throat.
Her eyes widened as she recoiled and slipped on the wet pavement. He moved quickly and nearly fell as he went for the ring on her hand. In one movement grabbed it and pulled it off of her.
The super heroine screamed as she detransformed. "Give it back!" The girl demanded her eyes red with anger as she stood up with her fists drawn.
She was girl around his cousin's age with brown skin and dark eyes. "No sorry this isn't yours," he said coughing up more blood from beneath his mask. Just a little longer.
The girl charged at him but without her powers, she was weaker. His training kicked in as he grabbed her by first and kicked her in the stomach knocking the air out of her. "Say goodbye you faker," he said as she fell into the open storm drain in the ground.
He heard her scream as he looked at the miraculous a small black cat-like figure emerged. "Adrien?"
"I'm his cousin," he said softly before coughing up blood. "Come on let me get you to him."
The small cat creature smiled at him and nodded. It was then all of the pain hit him, his vision then began to blur as he fell to his knees. "Felix!" He heard Adrien scream his name as he fell to the ground and passed out.
