Ch12

Adrien leaped through the rooftops of Paris as Cat Noir. It was surreal to have this feeling and freedom again. Felix please be ok. The last thing he saw of him Felix was unconscious and bleeding and deep down he was distraught over it. Kagame took him the hospital but as much as he would've liked to accompany her he had to help defend his city.

You did so much for me and now you are hurt. I promise I'll protect you like you do for me.

Upon landing on a rooftop looking at the action, he saw Ladybug and that other hero who he learned was named Viperion fight off Hawkmoth while on the ground Queen Bee was causing a ruckus and assisting Hawkmoth.

Well looks like I know where to begin. A smile spread across his face as he stealthily crawled down the wall he carefully snuck up on Queen Bee. Time for this kitty to pounce.

Hiding in the shadows he waited until he was close enough then he leapt at Queen Bee. Sorry about this Chloe. Queen Bee yelped in protest as he fell on top of her and quickly pulled off her miraculous.

"Hey what gives-" He cut Chloe off with a strike to the neck knocking her out.

"Now then I think this party should be brought to a close," He said as he looked at Ladybug's surprised look with a smile on his face.

"C-Cat Noir!" Ladybug said her jaw dropped.

"Hello Ladybug we can catch up later but for now we should focus on the task at hand," he said as he turned to face Hawkmoth and drew his baton.

The supervillain scowled. "Looks like the original kitty cat returned. Mayura now!"

He looked up and saw a large sentimonster in the sky in the shape of a large bug. He jumped back as the creature charged at him.

Great more help. He blocked the attack with his baton as Hawkmoth raced away. "Ladybug go after him I'll take care of this!" He blocked the stinger with his baton and leaped back.

Ladybug looked at him her eyes narrowing. "Fine. But we'll talk later," she then turned to Viperion. "Help him I'll go after Hawkmoth."

The blue hero nodded. "Understood Ladybug."

Surprisingly he didn't feel anything at the way the two shared an intimate smile even if a part of him still held onto her. I'll only work with her as a teammate. That's all she is to me.

He blocked the sentimonster's attack but was surprised to see it lunge at him. Viperion then came to support him and kicked the creature back. "Thanks," He said twirling his baton in his hand. "What can you do?"

"Control time," Viperion said as they dodged the creature's attack.

"Cool. Can you draw its attention away from me?" He dodged another strike and hit the sentimonster with his baton to knock it off balance.

Viperion nodded. "I can." The snake superhero lunged at the sentimonster and kicked him off balance.

Alright lets end this. "Cataclysm!" He charged at the sentimonster and brought his attack down on it. The creature erupted in a flurry of dark feathers that soon dissipated into the air.

"Cool. Come on we should help Ladybug," Viperion said.

He nodded. "Lets go."

This is so weird. He shook his head as he ran towards Ladybug. I'm not doing it for her I'm helping the city nothing more nothing less. It wasn't easy to put those feelings away, a part of him still wanted her praise but he pushed those thoughts away.

He landed on the roof top and heard Ladybug scream. "Ladybug what is it?" He yelled as he and Viperion ran towards her.

She was hunched over the body of an old Asian man. Something about him seemed familiar, maybe he had seen him in the subway before but either way he was important to her. "Ladybug who is this?" He asked softly.

Ladybug sobbed and looked up at him with tears in her eyes. "You never met him but this is the old guardian."

His eyes widened as he looked down at the corpse. He didn't know what to feel towards the dead old man. A part of him was grateful for giving him the cat miraculous the other part was bitter over the lack of communication. I was never good enough to meet him in real life.

He didn't know how to feel about, but Felix did tell him to not cherish those who don't value him as a person.

"Viperion by any chance can you reverse time?" Ladybug sobbed.

The superhero shook his head his gaze downward. "I'm sorry but I cannot."

"I'm sorry," he said softly as he looked around. Hawkmoth and Mayura were nowhere to be seen. But squinting his eyes he could see Kagami on the ground watching him. "Sorry I have to go now," He said grabbing his baton his miraculous was ringing, time was almost up.

"Wait," Ladybug said. "We have to talk."

"Sorry but this is important. We'll talk later," he said as he grabbed his baton and leaped from the building the only thing he saw upon looking was Viperion comforting a crying Ladybug.

His heart was confused a part of him really did want to help her but at the same time, he didn't want to fall for her again and get his hopes up. Looks like she found someone else, if she is happy and content so am I. Upon landing in an alley, he detransformed and rested against the wall. "It's been a while since I've done this," he sighed.

Plagg came out and rubbed his head. "Yeah well I'm glad you're back." His kwami avoided his gaze. "Adrien I'm really sorry for what I said back then."

"It's alright," he said softly. "We all make mistakes. I've learned a lot from my time away. If you still want me as your partner I would gladly do it if not I understand." It hurt to say that last part but he wanted to give his kwami the choice.

Plagg's eyes widened. "What? Of course I want to be with you. You're the best Cat Noir and also my friend."

His kwami went up to hug him. He smiled his heart racing in his chest as he hugged him back. "I'm glad to be your partner again," he said as he took out the bee miraculous he had in his pocket. "I don't know what I'll do with this."

"Should we give it back to the new guardian?" Plagg asked carefully.

He sighed as he heard footsteps approach him. "We'll talk about it later. Right now my cousin needs me."

Plagg nodded and hid in his ring as Kagami ran up to him. "Adrien are you ok?"

"I'm fine. How is Felix?" He asked as they quickly ran to his limo. He snuck the bee miraculous into his pocket, he would figure out what to do with it later.

"I brought him to the hospital. I don't think he is in critical danger," Kagami said.

"Good," he said. Felix please be ok. I can't lose you.

His cousin was family and despite their differences, he appreciated his help during his darkest hour.

They raced to the hospital his mind only focused on wondering if Felix was ok. "It's alright," Kagami said grabbing his hand. "He'll be ok."

He only nodded as they arrived at the hospital. As soon as the limo stopped in front of the entrance he leapt out of the car. Kagami ran by his side. "Come on his room is this way," she said guiding him through the halls till he made it to a large room.

He nearly kicked down the door as he ran inside and saw Felix resting in his bed. "Felix!" he said his eyes almost watering as he ran to hug his cousin.

Felix winced. "H-Hey Adrien do you mind taking it slow I just got out of surgery."

"Surgery? Was it serious?" he asked.

Felix shook his head. "No just a few broken ribs. After some rest I should be fine."

"I'm so glad you're ok," He said grabbing his cousin's hand. "Thank you. Thank you for everything."

"No problem," Felix said pulling his hand away. "How was it? Being a hero again?"

He nodded making sure the door behind him was closed. "It was good. It was strange to do it again."

"I'm glad you are well," Felix said. "Just remember set boundaries with yourself and others. Don't let other take your happiness."

"I will," He said. "Felix if you never need anything let me know ok? I want to help you and your mom for all that you did for me."

Felix nodded a small smile spreading across his face. "We are family we should look after each other no matter what. If your father or anyone harms you I'll make sure they regret it."

Kagami nodded and stepped forward. "I'll also support you no matter what."

Marinette's body shook as tears fell down her face. Alya where are you? The past two days had been hectic from Master Fu dying and her becoming the guardian to the real Cat Noir coming back only one thing had been on her mind. Where was Alya.

She searched all over the city for her once she found out that she hadn't returned home. Her family was distraught and were currently searching the entire city for her along with Nino.

This is my fault I brought her into this. She and her friends all helped search for Alya. She and Nino spent the entire day looking for her searching for wherever she could be.

There is a person who would know. She clenched her fists thinking of Cat Noir. When she first saw him she was both elated and shocked but something about him was different. Gone was his cheery demeanor and in its place was coldness towards her. He was stiffer and more formal as if he wanted distance between them.

Did she give it to him or what? Damn it Cat Noir where are you I really could use your help. She called him repeatedly as Ladybug but he hadn't answered her calls. Come on you were the last one to see her at least tell me what had happened to her?

"Don't worry Marinette I'm sure we'll find her soon," Tikki said reassuringly as they walked down an alley.

"I hope so," She said softly looking through the deserted alleys.

"Hey Marinette have you found anything?" Luka called out.

Tikki hid in her miraculous as Luka ran over. She shook her head. "No nothing."

"Don't worry we'll keep searching," Luka said firmly.

She nodded her heart fluttering. Luka was the only sort of comfort she had at the moment, he didn't know she was Ladybug but the fact that they fought together and all his support during these tough times made her grateful for his support.

Can we continue like this though? I'm the guardian now my burden is heavier than ever. She shook her head as they continued to search through the streets of Paris.

How did Cat Noir get the miraculous back? Where is he now and where is the bee miraculous? It was a small afterthought but as guardian she should have all miraculouses accounted for.

After an hour of searching her phone rang. She recognized the number and picked it up. "Nino what's wrong any news on Alya?"

There was silence on the other end followed by a series of sniffles and a sob. "The hospital," Nino said softly. "Please come." Her friend broke down in tears on the other.

Her heart sank. "Nino what's going on please tell me."

Luka put a comforting hand on her shoulder as Nino gave her the address of the hospital with a promise that she'll understand everything once there."

She turned off her phone her body shaking. "Luka please call a taxi," she said softly.

Luka nodded and said nothing as he waved a taxi down. Please be ok. The taxi ride felt like an eternity and as soon as it stopped in front of the hospital she leapt out and ran towards the room Nino gave her.

Alya please. Tears fell down her face as she saw the room. Nino and Alya's family were crowded around the door crying. She approached her friend her body shaking. "Nino what happened?"

Nino cleaned his face and broke down. "She was found unconscious in the sewer. She is in a coma right now."

Luka grabbed her as she fell to the ground. "No," she said softly as her friend helped her up.

Nino nodded his face sullen. "She fell down and suffered a concussion she is also malnourished and may have contracted something down there."

"No," she said her body shaking as she staggered to the room. Alya I shouldn't have gotten you into this. She peered inside Alya lay unconscious with a half dozen tubes inside of her while her parents were at the bedside.

She carefully walked towards her friend on the bed. Her unconscious body looked peaceful as it rested on the bed. Alya please wake up. It was then that she noticed the mark, it was on her finger the same one she wore the cat miraculous on. It was a cat paw.

AN: Hope you are all enjoying the story. It will be a while till the next chapter due to personal reasons but don't worry I will finish this story.
