Tales From the Cluttered Desk fidgeted nervously in her chair. Why did Coriolanus Snow, president of Panem, want to see her? He made his intentions known soon enough.

"I understand you are an accomplished fanfiction author? A budding writer for many fandoms?"

"Yes, Mr. President," Tales affirmed.

"And your most recent fandom is The Hunger Games?"

"Yes, Mr. President."

"What drew you in?"

Tales considered how she would word her answer, as she always did before speaking. "Well, I think the aspect that attracted me the most was the friendships between characters, like Katniss and Rue, and Cato and Clove. The latter one especially helped me keep in mind that the tributes were just kids being manipulated as game pieces by the Capitol. Also, I enjoyed reading about the little sparks leading toward full-on rebellion! The most impactful one I think was Katniss covering Rue's body in flowers!"

Tales broke off when she noticed President Snow's disapproving look. She shrank down in her chair. "And you think these games are fun?" he asked.

"No!" Tales protested. Then she wrinkled her brow. "Actually, the answer's complicated. I'm definitely not a fan of the killing part, but I discovered Hunger Games simulators on the internet, and ran through one a couple times, but it was pretty dumb, especially when I would put in the names of my favorite fictional characters and they would die. And of the stupidest things! Who ever heard of being killed by stubbing your toe, tripping, and falling?!" A small, ever-so-small, smile crept onto Tales's face. "Actually, the bloodbath at the Cornucopia reminds me of a game we play at youth summer camp. It's called Steal the Bacon."

"Yes, I've heard of it," President Snow interrupted. "Anyway, on to the reason I called you here. The Gamemakers and I have decided to have a little enjoyment at your expense. What you have just told me about your experience with Hunger Games simulators has confirmed that this year's Games will be most interesting. It was written specifically with you in mind, Tales. This year's tributes will be selected from your top fandoms." Tales opened her mouth in shock, but Snow held up a silencing hand. "Your list of fandoms as found on Fanfiction dot Net was lacking, and thus only ten fandoms will be participating, as opposed to the usual twelve. Frozen was not one of the fandoms listed on your profile, but the Gamemakers could reasonably deduce that you enjoy that movie as well. You have the opportunity to watch the reapings, if you wish." Something in Snow's tone told Tales that watching her favorite characters get reaped for the Fandom Games was not an option, but a command. With that, he switched on the projector, and the first stage of the Games began.

I've seen other people do this, and wanted to try it myself. So here we go! Ladies and gentlemen, let the Fandom Games begin!
