Hi ther, and welcome to Chapter 9 of "Fall of the Seraphim" I hope you enjoy this Chapter.
Hell- Cannibal Town
Charlie was a little nervous. It might have been easy to present her ideas to small groups of people, but never before had she to convince an entire town to follow her lead and defend hell by her side. It wouldn't be that bad, if not for the fact that the people she had to convince were Cannibals, but apparently that would be too easy.
"Now dearie, remember that you need to convince them on your own. I might be the mayor, but I would never order one of my people to lie down their live against their own will." Rosie said, patting Charlie on the shoulder. "And also, there is one person here that you need to look out for."
"Ugh, Susan, am I correct?" Alastor said from behind both of them.
"Yes, Susan. She is a... what do you call it?"
"An ornery old bitch?" Alastor suggested.
"Yeah, that. But don't worry honey, you got this." Rosie pushed Charlie to the front.
"Everyone listen here, please give a warm welcome to our royal guest, the princess of hell, Charlotte Morningstar!"
Everyone cheered at the announcement, but it was less for Charlie, and more out of respect to Rosie. Charlie took a deep breath, and was about to start speaking, when suddenly someone in the crowd started to boo her. She was prepared for some negative feedback, but even before she spoke was taking it a bit too far.
"BOO, bring Rosie back on the stage!" the voice screamed.
The crowd parted slightly, to reveal a rather old Cannibal. She wore a greyish-red dress, a frilled hat with a batch of blue feathers on top, and what seems to be a fox scarf, although Charlie could not tell if this was a fashion accessory, or just a snack the woman carried with her. Her behavior was also really rude, as she kept on screaming for Charlie to get off the stage.
"Susan?" Charlie asked, with a concerned look towards Rosie and Alastor.
"Susan." Both confirmed with bored looks, as if they are used to Susans antics.
Nonetheless, Charlie once again tried to speak up, but each time she spoke, Susan interrupted her. When Charlie tried to speak up even louder, Susan would also start shouting. Slowly Charlie was losing her patience, her eyes slowly turning red, and horns slowly sprouting. Just as Susan was in the middle of a tirade that Rosie should step up for a speech, Charlie snapped.
"FUCK YOU, YOU OLD BITCH!" Charlie screamed into the microphone.
The crowd gasped, and while many disliked Susan a lot, she was still a fellow Cannibal, and as such they had to stand united. Rosie, sensing that the crowd felt insulted, quickly intervened, in order to save Charlies reputation.
"Okay folks, we will be back after a short intermission, and then we will hear the speech of the princess!" She said, leading Charlie off the stage and into her store, Rosies Emporium.
Rosie took Charlie to the back of the store, which looked less like a storeroom and more like a room where old people meet up and drink tea. Rosie gently forced Charlie down onto the pink couch, before seating herself next to her.
"Okay we are now alone, now tell Auntie Rosie what got you so worked up." Rosie asked.
"Well, it is just... me and my girlfriend are currently on thin ice, and I'm not sure how to handle the whole situation." Charlie said dejected.
"Aww, problems in love, come on darling, I need more details!" Rosie encouraged.
Charlie took a deep breath, before finally spilling the beans. "The problem is that my girlfriend is a former Exorcist, and in all the years we have known each other, she never bothered to tell me about this rather significant secret. Not only that, but I also learned that particular secret from her former leader too, and to top it all off, there is Emily I have to worry about now since she le-"
"Whoa whoa whoa one problem after the other, dear. First, let's fix your relationship, lest you end up without your Guardian Angel there." Rosie interjected. "So, you said she was an Exterminator. While I get that this is a big deal, like REALLY big, I think you should focus more on another part of your statement."
"And that would be?" Charlie asked curiously.
"The fact that she WAS an Exterminator. You know, she could have just left you after you found her and nurtured her back to health, or even worse, tried to assassinate you in order to regain favor with heaven." Charlie cringed at that statement. "But instead, she decided to stay with you, to support you!"
Rosie continued "Tell me darling, what exactly do you feel when you think about your girlfriend right now?"
"A bit confused, a little anger, and also sadness. But mostly I just wish we could return to the way we were before we went to heaven." Charlie said, realizing Rosie was right.
"See, we are making progress. Everyone deserves a second chance, you of all people should know best, since that is what your hotel is about after all, right?" Rosie stated, fueling Charlies confidence little by little.
"Yeah, you are right! Thank you, Aunt Rosie." Charlie said as she hugged Rosie.
"Well, we are not out of the woods yet, dear. Remember, you also said something about a certain Emily. What is up with her, are you and your Angel in a poly relationship?" Rosie winked at that statement.
"No, not at all!" Charlie panicked at that insinuation. "No, Emily is the angel I was talking about back at the Overlords meeting. She went as far as go against her older sisters wishes to contact me down here and inform me of the weakness of Angels. The problem is that she just disappeared in the middle of a conversation, and I have a bad feeling that she might be in trouble."
"Ahh, so you are worried for your Angel friend up in heaven, that's it. I don't know too much about up there, you know, with the whole human meat-eating stuff and all the other things. But if I know one thing, they will never punish an Angel, one who has the ability to contact people on another plane even less. So, for now, let's see to it that you impress your audience out there!"
"But how am I supposed to do that if I flip by just hearing Susan?" Charlie questioned.
"Hey there now, do not worry about Susan. The first time I had to deal with her, I reacted the same as you, the key is to impress her with some talent. How do you normally promote your hotel for example?"
"I normally sing about it, but I think that will not impress her. She seems just dead set on giving me a challenge."
"Then return the favor! Give her a show that will put her in her place, sing like there is no tomorrow, and you will have the Cannibal Colony in your bag within 5 minutes!" Rosie pumped up Charlie one last time.
And so, the two of them left the shop and went bac to the plaza. Everyone was waiting, to see if Charlie could still impress them. Charlie took a deep breath, when Alastor tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and to her suprise, he was holding out his microphone, prompting her to use it for her Song. She thankfully accepted it, before starting with her show.
Just so everyone knows, I liked the recruitment scenes very much, as well as the songs for both Charlie and Vaggie in EP 7. So instead of writing them, please look up the Song "Ready for this".
Another thing I have to mention, is my timeline. This Chapter plays 2 weeks before the Extermination, whereas Chapter 8 played 1 week before the Extermination. This was just a choice I made, because I felt like writing a Emily Chapter again.
I hope you all enjoyed and I will see you soon again, with a new Chapter straight from the Hotel!
