When All Was Lost...
Chapter Thirty-Six

"You...want me... to WHAT!?"
Needless to say, Crow wasn't too happy to hear this request from her.
Of course he wouldn't be.
They only just reconnected again and she was basically asking him to help her leave.
"Let me get this straight..." he stated,"You ran away from the city...right?
"...Yes."
"And now...you want my help to get you back in!?" he huffed,"Forgive me, Rosie, but I don't think I quite follow your logic here!" he stated pointing to his headband to tap his head,"Weren't you trying to escape!?"
"Yes, I know it doesn't make sense-" she stammered,"But..."
"But what!?"
"I can't explain it..." she said to him,"I just...need to." she sighed,"Yusei...he went to the city to find Jack."
"Hm?" Crow blinked,"I see...so he made it out huh?" he sighed.
Now if Yusei could do it...why couldn't I?
"But I have a feeling...he may be walking into a trap."
Crow twitched.
"...What makes you think that?"
"I can't explain it." she said,"And it's all still a little fuzzy..." she sighed,"But I remember something..." she blinked,"Something I did in the city...before I ran away."
Crow blinked and loosened his tension.
He seemed intrigued.
"Really?" he asked.
She nodded.
"I can't...remember it clearly...but I remember...infiltrating somewhere." she sighed, "I did something...bad...Crow. Really bad."
"Infiltrating?" he blinked,"You mean...like we used to do?"
She nodded.
"I can't remember where..." she said,"But I do remember something that stood out to me."
"And?" he blinked,"What's that?"
"I remember finding an information file..." she said softly,"About Jack."
"About Jack?"
She nodded.
"I don't know what's coming..." she stated,"But I get the feeling that Jack is in danger." she said softly,"And Yusei is too,"
Crow stared at her for a while in a long silence before heaving a heavy sigh and shaking his head.
"Akarii...I'm not sure if you realize how crazy that actually sounds." he huffed as he stood up in a storm waving his arms as he spoke.
"But Crow-"
"BUT-" he cut her off with a wave of his hand, holding up an index finger to silence her before sighing and resting his forehead into his fingers,"...Your intuition...has never really been wrong...has it?"
"I..." she blinked and sighed looking down awkwardly while she twiddled her thumbs.
She noticed him glancing back at her before heaving another sigh.
"...I'll help you." he muttered.
"What?" she blinked.
"I said I'll help you!" he snipped,"BUT...I have conditions!"
"Ah...Of course!" she blinked and stood.
"First off..." he said firmly,"Getting you back into the city won't be an easy task." he stated,"And since Yusei managed to escape, chances are they are gonna up the security big time."
"I see..." she sighed.
He was right.
"I guess it really would be impossible, wouldn't it?"
"Now...I never said that." said Crow,"I just said it wouldn't be easy." he huffed and turned toward her crossing his arms.
"First-you're gonna need a duel runner."
"A duel runner?" she blinked.
Duel Runner...Duel Runner...
She gasped.
"No! My Duel Runner!" She heaved a heavy sigh and placed her face in her hands,"What happened to my duel runner...?" she sighed,"W-Well...maybe I can build one out of all the spare parts in Yusei's hide out..."
"Yusei's hide out?" Crow blinked,"You know where it is?"
"That's where I was staying during that time I was trying to remember you..."
"Oh..." he blinked,"I see..." he sighed and looked down sadly.
It hurt her to see him that way.
"Anyway...You don't have to build a runner." he stated,"Come with me."
She blinked curiously and followed him outside.
He led her to the side of the house and started shifting and tossing around random pieces of junk. There seemed to be something buried beneath it. Something that he unearthed.
"Is that..." She blinked,"Rose Bullet!?"
There it was in its rose red glory.
Her Duel Runner.
It looked like he gave it a coat of chrome paint too so she shined like new.
"Yeah...I always had hope you would come back." he said softly,"So I kept her runnin' for ya."
She squealed and threw her arms around him.
"Crow, she's gorgeous!" she beamed.
"Yeah yeah yeah." he laughed,"Don't thank me just yet~"
"What do you mean?"
"Go ahead~" he smirked,"Give her a revv."
She blinked and approached the familiar machine fitted and formed perfectly to her hand. She gave it a revv and listened to the engine sound cut sharply with an acoustic echo.
"Oooh Yessss~!" She grinned and giggled, filling with a familiar excitement she hadn't felt in a long long time.
"Good." he stated,"It seems you know how to handle the controls...so this next part shouldn't be hard to follow either."
"Next part?" she blinked curiously when he suddenly tossed a helmet into her hands.
"Revv your engines Akarii Rhodes!" Crow smirked,"'Cuz you and me are gonna have a Turbo Duel!"
