"hey Lilly, you've been avoiding me lately, is everything ok" asks Miley
"no, I'm not ok, I like like you, like really bad, I know you don't like girls that way, especially not me, I just need to finish my degree and stay away from you, maybe Oliver will take me back" says Lilly running away
"Lilly doesn't catch on that quickly does she" asks Abigail, a fellow music master degree student
"I mean sometimes sure but I don't see how she could be blind to all the signs, I mean we literally shared a bed the first two years of university and we shared a bedroom for a few years before that" says Miley
"does she know you're Hannah, maybe she doesn't" asks Abigail
"she was the first person I told, she's Lola" says Miley
"omg, I don't know how I didn't realize that, maybe I should tell her you do love her" says Abigail
"she won't believe you anyway, I'd also rather Oliver didn't find out, he has always had a crush on Miss Montana, even now, I literally switched university s for her, I cancelled an entire Hannah tour so I could switch schools and have a new one set up based around my schedule here, if you think Lilly can't keep a secret, the only secret Oliver has ever kept about me is the Hannah secret, if he finds out boys haven't been on the table romantically for a while he's going to tell everyone, even though my dad knows, Jackson does not and Oliver will absolutely tell Jackson" says Miley
"so what's your plan" asks Abigail
"I don't have one, if Lilly wants to avoid me because she doesn't realize she's missing clues then I guess I have to go along with it, her feelings matter more than me pressuring her, not like she'd believe I'm being honest anyway so I might as well follow her lead" says Miley
"your feelings matter too Miley" says Abigail
"not as much as Lillypad's feelings do" says Miley
"omg that's an adorable nickname for her" says Abigail
"yep now stop talking about it, it's not like we're exactly alone in this dorm, people are quite nozy, especially since I released a few songs as myself, I don't want people using that word to describe her, it's special to me" says Miley
"you'll still talk to me after we get our degrees and I go back to San-Francisco right" asks Abigail
"probably not actively however if you text me I'll respond, I'll probably be spending the next few years in my room extremely depressed when I'm not performing music on stage" says Miley as they clean their dorm room
"yeah, I don't blame you, she's pretty hot" says Abigail
"you have feelings for her don't you" asks Miley
"no, luckily I'm not into girls, though I can totally understand why you like her" says Abigail
3 weeks later as Jackson gets concerned about Miley
"something wrong Miley, you've been acting very depressed" asks Jackson, quite concerned about his sister
"I don't want to talk about it now leave me alone please" says Miley
"it's about Lilly isn't it" asks Jackson
"how would you know about that kind of thing you landed into that relationship with Siena by pure luck, there no way that if you were to redo that chain of events that you'd still end up being her boyfriend, it's literally impossible" says Miley
"you really don't think I know you have feelings for Lilly, I've known since you started sharing a room, sharing a bed for two years in university only proved it" says Jackson as Miley's jaw drops
"so you saw the signs, why didn't Lilly, threw weeks ago I asked her what was wrong, because she'd been avoiding me, she said she liked me, like really liked me then told me that I don't like girls and certainly not her so she planned to just finish her degree then move away or something, then she said something about maybe Oliver taking her back, all my plans are gone now, when I say ALL my plans I mean everything" says Miley
"wait even the tours, I bought a suit for that, Siena bought a dress, we can't get a refund now" says Jackson now upset that he spent money on a tuxedo and can't get a refund
"it wasn't going to be a regular Hannah Montana tour, it was going to be a 'meet the people who kept Hannah grounded for all these years' kind of tour, Lola was a big part of why I never got self obsessed and narcissistic, without Lilly there's no point to doing the tour, Hannah quit music and so did I, now I write music for other people, if Lilly really wants to stay away from me then my drive to write music for myself isn't there, the tour was supposed to end in Hawaii where Lilly and I would spend two weeks on dates, I'd already gotten the hotel room booked, it wasn't cheap and I can't get a refund because it's a very exclusive hotel" says Miley
"why don't you talk to Lilly" asks Jackson
"even if I could muster the courage to call her or text her or message her, I'm blocked on everything, even if I could get through to her, she won't believe it" says Miley
"let me talk to her then" says Jackson
"I doubt she'd believe you either, Siena has already tried with no success" says Miley
"I think you doubt my methods smiley, at the very least Lilly needs to know the truth" says Jackson
"Lillypad isn't easy to get through to or I wouldn't be in this mess Jackson, you don't know Lilly like I do" says Miley
"Lillypad huh, that's a cute pet name, I'm sure you didn't mean to say that out loud" says Jackson seeing Miley blush at the realization
"you know I didn't not get out, I have music to write, I'm not staying here free anymore you know, I have rent to pay" says Miley forcing Jackson out
35 minutes later with Lilly and Oliver
"I know you're not blind Lilly, I think Miley really does love you, you know how she is" says Oliver
"I doubt that she likes me, I'd know" says Lilly
"you say that a lot about people, did you even give Miley a chance to respond or did you leave before she had a chance as you always do, just like when you broke up with me without letting me say anything" says Oliver
"I knew she wasn't going to prove me wrong, why have my feelings hurt more than they already are" says Lilly
"all I know is Jackson wants to speak with you and you know how much he hates talking to you" says Oliver as Jackson shows up
"Miley ended Hannah's career because of you Lilly" says Jackson
"wait what, but she's supposed to be on tour, it's her first big tour since starting university " says Lilly absolutely shocked
"and the moment you walked away she cancelled it all, like you I thought it was just a regular tour, reintroducing Hannah to the world after university , it was more than that, it was supposed to be a 'get to know the people who kept Hannah grounded' tour, you were going to be the center, Hannah was going to come out as gay and she was going to ask Lola out, the end of the tour was supposed to be a week stay at a hotel in Hawaii, just you and her, she'd already made the reservations, which are now useless without you and they won't let her get a refund" says Jackson
"wait so does Miley love me or does Hannah love Lola" asks Lilly
"how quickly do you forget they are one in the same, you are Lola and Miley is Hannah, one pair can't date without the other pair dating, you didn't even give her a chance to answer, now she's all depressed, she hasn't left her room since getting back home and she's torn everything apart except for the bed you slept in, she's turned it into a shrine" says Jackson
"that's not love, that's obsession" says Oliver
"yeah it kinda is love actually, think about what happened to her, first mom died, then we moved to Malibu shortly after, she's always had girl crushes, it didn't matter to her because they never lasted long, very few boys flip that switch in her brain where she becomes attracted to them, ninety eight percent of the people she's attracted to are female, aunt Dolly has been in the hospital back in Nashville lately, her horse has been kicking her in the knee lately, she has no female influence to talk about her feelings with, she definitely doesn't tell girls her age because she hates gossip, she doesn't want to BE gossip, that's the part about being Hannah Montana that she hates the most, the constant media attention, it's why she quit without Lilly by her side, sure maybe her feelings border on obsession but it is still love Oliver" says Jackson
"have I missed signals or something, because she used to say we were 'like sisters', I wouldn't ever call someone I had feelings for my sister, honestly her saying that always irked me a little" says Lilly
"plenty of signals yeah, the biggest one being sharing a bed in your dorm room in university for those first two years, Miley doesn't just share a bed with just anyone, I believe there was also something special that happened during those two years as well, something about minimal clothing at night or something, Miley has never been very talkative about it" says Jackson
"ok but she always wore pyjamas, I couldn't stand the room being so warm and my parents were ok with me being naked at night in my bed if it got too warm, Miley didn't seem to care but like I said she always wore pyjamas" says Lilly
"she's not great at reading your body language, especially in moments like that, she'd rather have assumed that you don't see her like that so she would wait till you fell asleep before getting undressed, she was quite annoyed with the temperature being so hot as well but she had no control over it, she used her last favor just switching university s so she could be near you" says Jackson
"but she was always in pyjamas when I woke up, are you saying she intentionality woke up before me just so I wouldn't see her naked or something" asks Lilly
"pretty much, changing in front of one another during things where it's common for girls to change in front of one another like before gym class or in a public swimming pool change room is one thing but changing in front of a single person in a shared dorm room is another thing entirely, she's always been self conscious, she needs you Lillypad, she says you've blocked her on everything" says Jackson
"….. Lillypad…. God that's an adorable pet name, but I've wronged her obviously, why would she trust me, surely she thinks I don't care, I only blocked her because I thought she didn't like me and I didn't want reminders of her to make me cry" says Lilly
"if she thought you wronged her she'd have stopped me from driving here, all she said was 'I doubt she'll believe you', she never said that I shouldn't try and tell you the truth about how she feels, only that you'd never believe me, Siena tried to stop me because she'd already tried to show you the truth and she said you blew her off and said she was a liar" says Jackson
"because I didn't think Siena honestly knew that much about Miley, they don't even really get along well, especially when you're around" says Lilly
"Siena didn't know much about Miley only because Miley kept her life mostly secret, only telling Siena what Miley thought was safe information, when Miley arrived home without you Siena got concerned because the only information Siena knew about Miley's love life is that Miley had strong feelings for you, she figured there was a fight and she wanted to help fix things" says Jackson
"so I can go there now and ask her out then" asks Lilly, a sparkle in her eye
"I mean you'll have to gain her trust alone with her but I don't see why she wouldn't say no to being your girlfriend, what about your stuff, surely you can't expect Oliver to keep it all here" says Jackson
"I don't mind, once Lilly knows she can officially move back in with Miley then she can come get her stuff, no need to get Miley all twisted about what's going on, if things should be done right that means time must be taken, don't let Miley or your feelings let you rush things Lilly, take your time" says Oliver
"fat chance of that working, I've wanted this for a long time, I just never thought it would ever happen" says Lilly
"fine but if you go too fast it might fracture the relationship, just don't promise too much too soon, Miley may need you but that doesn't mean she can handle it all at once, I don't need her calling me in the middle of the night crying because you took things too fast and things got boring for you and you broke up with her, I have enough problems getting a girlfriend, I don't need to need to yell at you for going too fast and ruining it all too" says Oliver
"oh so you can't handle helping a friend, is that it" asks Lilly
"no, I can handle that, what I can't handle is you being offered everything you ever wanted with her and doing everything only to find the feeling don't last as long in reality as they do in your head, I want you both to know the relationship will last long term, I mean look at Jackson and Siena, they've been dating a long time and only just recently did Jackson propose to her" says Oliver
"I guess I can see your point there, I'm sorry I got bored with us, I thought being with you would quiet my feelings for her I was genuinely content with you but in the end it wasn't enough, I'm really sorry I broke your heart" says Lilly
"all that matters is that you're happy, I'll find some girl who loves me long term eventually, love isn't an easy thing, it's not meant to be, now go" says Oliver as Lilly hugs him and leaves with Jackson
With Jackson 20 minutes later
"ok so like Miley really really loves me, this is actually real" asks Lilly, suddenly in disbelief that this is reality
"I wouldn't have said so if it wasn't true Lilly" says Jackson as they pull in the laneway
"does Miley have a new horse, I heard that Blue jeans passed away while we were at college, I know how much she loves horses, especially Blue Jeans" says Lilly
"Blue Jeans is gone now yes, got bit twice more by snakes, it was too much for him, Skylar is her new horse and Miley has only ridden her once since coming home from university, she spent the rest of the time in her room, either eating, sleeping or praying at the base of your bed, follow your heart Lilly, I don't think that Miley will hold back once you kiss her, I've never seen her this depressed before, be prepared to go fast" says Jackson as they get out an approach Miley's room
"I might be over my head in this but I want this, I want her and I'm willing to work through it" says Lilly as they stop at Miley's bedroom door
"go ahead, walk in, a word of advice, don't say anything, just kiss her, she'll probably come around pretty quickly" says Jackson
"if things go horribly wrong, you have to take the blame, I'm trusting your advice" says Lilly
"absolutely, if I wasn't so concerned about Miley's safety I wouldn't have intervened at all so I accept all the blame if things don't start off on the right foot but don't get scared off, she might not always say the right thing" says Jackson
"neither do I" says Lilly as she enters as Miley spins around and runs at her
"I love you" says Miley as Lilly kisses her
"I love you too" says Lilly
"I can't wait, I want to make love" says Miley, her mood suddenly changing from depressed to excited
"so long as we don't let it take over the relationship I'm ok with that" says Lilly as she begins taking things off
"I'll follow your lead, how about that" says Miley as she also starts undressing
