Noblesse F - The Cursed Enforcer of Kuroda
"Witches sometimes aid people and sometimes curse them. So how can one undo a witch's curse? One way is a living kiss from Prince Charming. Another is if the hateful witch has a change of heart. But perhaps… another method can be found elsewhere."
2/29/2019 Udo Jingu, Nichinan, Miyazaki, Japan Nighttime - Clear Sky
First Person POV
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Mystic
I can feel it… The leftovers of the etheric traces of magical energy coming from this shrine area. Udo Jingu… Why am I here, exactly? Well, it's simple. There were rumors involving the sightings of what people call "Fallen Witches". Those who fell under the influence of "Dark Magic". What do you mean by Dark Magic? Well, it could be anything. Practicing the dark arts that corrupt your mind, reviving the corpses into undead, even to the point of casting curses. That's what Fallen Witches are. I checked my phone to see the reflection under the street lamp's lighting… black short hair, brown eyes… Now to shift my clothing through the reflection's angle… dark navy blue hoodie, white scarf, black pants, and a white t-shirt under it… All fresh. I hope I won't get blood on my casual wear tonight… If you wish to know who I am… My name is Naoto Kuroda. Though, Kuroda isn't actually my last name to begin with. My ancestor's name was Kuroki Tameyoshi who has a counterpart of a Witch named Kunika Kuroda. How it all began was rather complicated. Before my life descended into a personal madness of nightmares. I ended up saving a young woman from an incoming truck. Resulting me to be sent to a hospital as I miraculously survived, clinging onto that very life. That was the moment I met that Witch. She was an odd one to say the least. Free spirited, I mean. She had 'accidently' made me her Slave after the pact was eventually made. I felt the Slave Mark on the side of my neck now that I'm bound to her. However, I proceeded to sleeve my right arm to reveal my skin… it looks like a tattoo of thorns creeping close to my wrist. Though, this isn't a tattoo… but a separate mark. This mark on my right arm belongs to a Moon Witch… the one who cursed me, the one who I unknowingly saved, and the one who tricked me. That was when I left the hospital before living with my parents… Kunika's parents. Of course, I had actual parents at the time because they were killed by the Tokyo Dome incident last year during my time at the hospital. Suddenly, a Japanese Pied Wagtail soars towards my location as it perches on my shoulder… Took you that long, Seine…
"Apologies for my late arrival, Naoto." The Japanese Pied Wagtail named Seine continued. "I already finished scouting the whole area. The Fallen Witch is there."
"Good, I'll make sure she's freed from the corruption." I replied as I wanted to speak my mind first…
Seine… is a special case. She is a Moon Witch, but was cursed by her colleague who betrayed her and decided to remain with me after I was cursed by that Moon Witch. was the one who told me about the appearances of the Fallen Witches that suddenly appeared out of nowhere all over the world. They love to hide from the day, sure. At night, it's literally their playground. Of course, this was the time when I had the Mage Ability of Water Magic and learned how to utilize it. I decided to take this task on my own without any involvement from the authorities. Hence why I wanted to do something right. I only recently discovered that my right arm is capable of expelling the curse applied to the Fallen thanks to the Moon Witch's curse. Once I take all of that negative magic away, it'll revert the Fallen back to a normal Witch.. But that's not the point.
"Can't believe Morgan would go out of her way to teach these Earth Witches our techniques… but in the wrong way possible. They… they never deserve to learn Dark Magic…" Seine said with a sad but somber tone.
"Don't worry, it's my job to free them. Just like you taught me with my right arm. Alright… I'm ready. Go fly." I said to the avian bird as Seine proceeded to fly.
So, I brought out my sword hilt with me as it was missing a blade. You want to know? I intended it to have this hilt with no blade. So, I begin to concentrate and focus as the water begins to conjure as it form a blade in the shape of a longsword. A blade made out of water may seem useless but don't be fooled. It's sharp enough that it can kill someone with ease. But my objective isn't to kill a Fallen. To expel their darkness and restore them back to normal. Which is why I need to be careful of extra hazards such as the undead that they're capable of raising. I decided to waste no time as I set my foot into the area where the ocean can be seen. But the moment I walked inside… My right arm begins to feel a dark presence as I cross through the Bounded Territory setted up by a Fallen. There's no doubt that she's here… and she knows I stepped inside her area. The moment you step inside the Bounded Territory, all electronics are disabled. Those with magic… even Witches if they're piloting their Striker Unit or Arm can bypass that. Slaves count, as well. Gotta stay on my toes and look out for the Domain Owner. And I gotta be honest… No one has ever fought a Fallen Witch before. I proceeded to walk down the path here in this quiet shrine area when there was no one around. No communication, no help at all. I'm all alone. And the moment I arrived at the main shrine temple where there was someone… short brown hair, purple hakama… and a silver Striker Unit… Wait…
"Kunika?" I said her name when I managed to get close to her and found out that her arms and legs were wrapped in some dark bindings. Her familiar is active but… Why is she here?
Of course… Kunika Kuroda… my supposed sibling. Or rather my younger sister to say the least ever since I was adopted into her noble family. She was also the one who turned me into her Slave, allowing me to wield the ability of using Water. In case you didn't know… she works for the 506th Joint Fighter Wing Noble Witches… which is stationed and located in France. They have two separate units. A-Unit, which is in Sedan. And the B-Unit, which is in Dijon. But that was last month when Kunika told me on her phone that both units would revert back into one unit ever since the last Neuroi Core was destroyed at Kastovia's capital city of Verdansk. Rumors said that it was a guy who destroyed it. The very same man who made himself known in our country… Keiwa Kaburagi, the First Hero. I only heard of his name. But his actions… well, he made a big change where Slaves were renamed into Mages in order to fit the terms better because he was the head of the Witch Corps' Mage Pact Department. The only department that watches over Witches who made a pact with a human being who were turned into Mages. But first… I need to check on her. My right arm may have a Moon Witch's Curse mark but it's not like I touch something that kills. It's just that… my right arm has a hidden property that is indescribable but… It's best for me to focus on what's ahead.
Background Music End
"Hey… Kunika? Hmm… no response. Seems the dark binds are still holding her… Hold on, I'll use my right arm to remove it." I said to the unconscious Kunika as I was about to prepare. That is until…
"You…!" The voice of a young girl spoke behind me as I turned around to see her. She has white hair, red eyes, and animal ears of a shiba inu as she wears her dark navy sailor uniform as she uses her hand to conjure black dark bindings as she pulls me away from the temple. As she let me go, I rolled onto the floor but got up with my own two feet as I held my hilt where my water blade is active on my left hand. "You will not take away my sacrifice…! She will be my final key in order for me to master Dark Magic! The knowledge of the Moon Witches is paramount!"
"So you're the one who's kidnapping people. And you're going to regret kidnapping my sister, Fallen. But don't worry… I'll cure you." I said to her as I stood my ground as the Fallen began to wield her dark magic as she prepared to fire a dark bolt at me. I used my right hand to raise up a wall of water to block it as it dissipates. I lowered the wall of water down as I rushed towards her in order to fight her. But I need to be careful. I cannot risk my attacks that will be considered fatal. But suddenly, she then uses more of her Dark Magic as I stopped running when she was about to do something.
"Kill the human! Do my bidding, my loyal zombies!" The Fallen exclaimed as I noticed the nearby corpses… they're human but killed… Suddenly, the essence of Dark Magic affects the body as they begin to move and creak as they were brought back from the dead…
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Crisis
"Naoto! Be on your guard!" Seine warned as she landed on the lamppost.
"I'm already aware…" I then readied myself as the group of zombies surrounded me. I proceeded to conjure a ball of water from my right hand as I threw the ball of water at one of the undead, trapping it inside as the large orb was floating. I swung my water blade with my left hand as I slashed through the orb along with the corpse as it was slashed in half.
The second zombie tried to pounce as I used my right hand to grab a small droplet of water from my blade as I dodged to the side, morphing the droplet into a water-like rope as I lasso'd the zombie's leg as I held it tightly, to perform a full spin as I threw the body at the group as they crashed into the separate shrine temple in the process. However, the Fallen Witch casted a ball of dark fire as she hurled it towards me. I proceeded to conjure a ball of water to match the size of her dark fireball as I tossed it towards the projectile. As the two opposite elements collide, a burst of steam releases in the air as I was within the clouds in order to prepare.
[FWOOSH!]
I didn't want to kill the Witch since she was afflicted with the influence of the Dark Magic. I feel bad for her, I do. So, I used my right hand to grab her head. I pinned her to the ground as my arm began to react. She struggles and screams as I force her to hold still. My right arm reacts with a dark purple glow. The dark essence begins to exit out of her body all over as it flows right into my right arm as I bear this inner pain and braced myself. Her hair color begins to revert back to normal as well as the pale skin. As a result, all of the dark essence emanated from her was no more. Suddenly, I looked up to see the cracks in the Bounded Territory as it began to expand quickly and proceeded to shatter away. Good, it's over. As for the Fusoan Witch… She's going to be okay. So, I headed back into the temple where the dark bindings disappeared as I managed to catch Kunika with my arms.

"Hey… Kunika! Are you unharmed?" I tried to ask Kunika as she proceeded to groan lightly as she slowly opened her eyes to look at me in confusion.
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Troubled
"H-Huh? Naoto-kun…?" Kunika said her name until she realized as she lifted her body up and looked around. "Huh? HUH!? Why am I doing it, exactly? But moreover… Why are you here?"
"Calm yourself, Kunika." I continued. "I heard reports of a missing Witch that was very recent. But turns out… you were the one. Only to be captured by the Fallen Witch, that is."
"H-Huh? Fallen… Witch?" Kunika said in confusion. "I just came back to Japan to visit Oka-san and Oto-san again until… Right… I was mysteriously kidnapped."
"I see… You came back from France, didn't you?" I asked her as she nodded.
"Y-Yeah. I had to board the KMS Prinzessin zu Wittgenstein in order to take off on the runway much more easily. But still… why are you here?" Kunika said as I sighed.
"As I said- Nevermind… Look, the ambulance might be arriving soon. You said you want to visit your parents, right? We can go there right now." I continued. "Does your Striker work?"
"I think…?" Kunika said as she tries to put a focus on her striker as she applies magic into it as it begins to sputter and spur to life. She hovers and moves out of the temple as I follow her as Seine landed on the side of my shoulder.
Now, I know what you're wondering… While Seine is indeed a Moon Witch before she was tricked and hexed by her former friend who is also a Moon Witch, Seine is actually an Enforcer. Enforcers are tasked with enacting justice towards Moon Witches if they don't follow the laws and rules stated by the High Council of Luna Asta. Which they're from the moon, that is. When I first met Seine, I confused her for a bird. But of course, she was capable of speech and told me who she is and how she got here. She sensed my right arm and I told her everything that happened. And she told me her side of the story of what happened. To tell you the truth… I remember exiting out of the hospital after I made a pact with Kunika to become a Mage as a result. And that young woman I saved? Turns out it was a Moon Witch who apparently cursed my right arm with those purple creeping vines with thorns like briars twisting one another. It may look like a tattoo but it's a Moon Witch's Curse. But thanks to Kunika's pact, that negated the negative effects and allowed me to drain "negative essences" off of people who are affected by Dark Magic. Primarily the Fallen Witches. Seine told me that she, too, was also tricked by the same Moon Witch I've met. Her name was Morgan. She had hexed her before she came to Earth to hide and mess with people. As I said before, Seine is an Enforcer. Since she cannot use her magic while being stuck on her bird form of a Japanese Pied Wagtail. I had no choice but to take over Seine's role as an Substitute Enforcer. I was given approval by the High Council from the moon, which is very rare. They would never interact with a human like me but… this was serious. There is another Enforcer but they said that she is currently busy searching for someone at the moment. So, why am I doing this, exactly? I'll tell you why. And it's simple… I was given orders by the High Council of Luna Asta that I am to hunt down and neutralize Morgan along with the other six affiliated with her.
"Seems to be working, in fact. Now then, let's get out of here. I don't want to attract too much attention tonight." I said to Kunika as she seemed concerned.
"Are you sure, we can talk with the people who are coming to the scene and-" I interrupted her.
"As I said again, Kunika. We're going." I said to her as she seemed a little defeated.
"R-Right…" Kunika replied as she grabbed my hand to carry me as we managed to leave the scene with Seine following me in the air.
"Are you sure you're trying to act as the big brother here?" Seine asked me.
"I just want to get the job done… That's all." I said to her as I looked back at Kunika. "So… Why did you come back to Japan anyways?"
"Aside from seeing my parents again, sure. But it's something more than that." Kunika continued. "The head of my family that I mentioned to you previously? I'm needed there tomorrow. I don't know what it is but you'll never know unless you see it with your own eyes. Plus, that also includes you."
"Of course…" I continued. "Of course they would include me… you know the nobles dislike me?"
"About your rash behavior? I know." Kunika continued. "But you gotta believe in me. I just wanna see it for myself, after all."
"Fine… Just this once…" I replied as Kunika continued to hold my hand as she flew me back to our parent's home in order to get some rest. After all… I need to undo Morgan's curse. She and her six Moon Witches of Sin… they will pay…

-[Flashback - The Curse]-
After that, I managed to return home with Kunika. The parents had already greeted us but my adoptive mother told me to never go out in the middle of the night because of the rumors of what not. I was in my room sleeping when I was suddenly forced to revisit my past… That's right… I'm not in full control but I'm forced to relive the events of how it all started. This was right after I made a pact with Kunika to become her Mage. As a result, I was brought back to life from the brink of death. Even though I was clinging to that very life. To continue living. As soon as I left the hospital I was making my way home in the middle of the night. The streets were quiet and no one was around. Suddenly, right in front of my eyes was that very same young woman. The dress was completely black as she had long blonde hair. She was the one that I saved right before the truck had hit me. That made me stop walking as we began meeting each other.
"You're… You're the one that I saved before…" I said to her in surprise as the young woman then had a soft smile and chuckled.
"I'm glad that you remember me." The young woman said in her british-like accent. "I knew a young man like you would be so brave and strong to save a person's life. And look at you, you survived.~ I should praise you for that."
"Thanks… I did what I could. But do I need to remind you that you need to look both ways before crossing the street next time?" I said to her as she giggled.
"Sorry, sorry. It's just that I'm new here, you see. Surely you've seen my face, no?" The young woman said as I took a good look at her face. She's not Japanese.
"So you're a foreigner? A tourist perhaps?" I asked her as she pondered a bit.
"Foreigner… Tourist…? Hmm… Alright, let's go with that." The young woman continued. "I am indeed taking some sights here around this wonderful city. The architecture, technology, everything… Not to mention these Earth Witches that you people have."
"I'm glad that you're enjoying your time here. There's nothing much in Miyazaki. It's your typical boring city that we live in to go about our lives. And even you see those Witches in the skies are nothing special, too." I said to her as the young woman stared at the moonlight.
"Boring is what makes it interesting. Mundane brings forth joy." The young woman continued. "Why live such a boring and mundane life when you can simply do something for fun?"
"I… don't quite follow…" I replied with uncertainty.
"So… how about an introduction. You got a name, boy?~" The young woman asked for my name.
"Naoto Kuroda. You?" I asked.
"Call me Morgan.~" The young woman named Morgan continued. "As you can see… I was hoping if… you and I can get along well?"
"So what you're saying is… you want a friend?" I asked her in confusion as she nodded.
"Something like that. After all, I am a very honest woman. What's the matter? Do you not trust me?" Morgan said as I tried to explain to her but…
"N-No. It's just that…" I had a hard time explaining as Morgan continued to look at me… if I try to say something with an excuse… I'd be a bad person… Plus, it's late at night. My parents would be concerned if I don't come home for too long. And now, I feel defeated. I have no choice. "Fine… I trust you… Just what is it?"
"Let me feel your hand." Morgan said as this confused me.
"What?" I asked.
"Your hand. Any hand is fine. I simply want to understand you. It's merely a simple request. Is it not?" Morgan said as she wanted to… understand me. So, I decided to use my right hand as I let her feel my hand as she places hers on top of mine. "Interesting… So you made a pact with someone… An Earth Witch… Hehehehe… Good.~"
"What are you- HUH!?" I noticed something was wrong, and felt incredibly weak and ill as she let go of my right hand.
Something was clearly wrong with me. I felt the pain within my right arm as if it was gut wrenching. The pain was too much as I saw the purple burn marks appearing on my right arm in a form of thorny briars stretching out as it creeps through my right arm as it stops to the point where it touches the wrist area. I groaned in pain and cried as I had my left hand tightly grab my right arm as the pain was too much. Then, Morgan proceeded to laugh at me as I looked at her.
"Ahahaha!~ Do you see now? I simply wanted to understand you and now I did. With it, I simply wanted to see if you're capable enough to stop me. If you truly want to undo this curse… You just have to search for seven of us. Me, included.~" Morgan continued as she proceeded to summon her broom as she sat on it as she hovered into the air. "Don't worry, the curse won't kill you but a gift from yours truly.~ But I wonder… I wonder how you'll overcome this fate. I'll look forward to seeing what happens next.~"
And so, Morgan then flies away as I was left afflicted with this curse. The pain stops but the marks glow as I can sense its magical presence… its dark magical energy was emitting from my right arm… Of course, this was my realization that I was tricked. Figuring out that Morgan was none other than a Moon Witch. I gritted my teeth in frustration until I saw a bird… a Japanese Pied Wagtail landed on the ground as it approached towards me.
"Seems it was too late… Morgan has cursed you…" The bird said to me much to my surprise. And thus, that began my life of being both a Mage and afflicted by the Moon Witch's Curse.
[Flashback End]
3/1/2019 Kuroda Residence, Miyazaki, Japan Morning - Clear Sky
I suddenly gasped for air as I lifted my body… of course, it was a dream. I woke up here in my bed here in this bedroom. I proceeded to calm down and catch my breath as I looked to the side where the morning had already begun. I heard the birds chirping outside as if they were singing. However, I noticed someone on my bed… Seine… she scratched the itch off with her small little legs and looked at me.
"Morning, Naoto. A bad dream again?" Seine said to me as I nodded at her.
"Yeah…" I continued. "A reminder and a lesson to learn."
I got off my bed as Seine flew away and landed on my desk as I decided to get changed. I wore my t-shirt and looked at my right arm as it was connected from my right shoulder. I decided to wear something consisting of black pants and a light purple jacket with a white 'X' symbol on its front. Why did I buy this outfit? Because I like it. I left my room and headed downstairs with Seine perched on my shoulder to find Kunika's parents who were seen going about their morning routine as usual. However, Kunika was there.
Background Music | Persona 4 OST - Signs of Love
"Ahh, Naoto-kun. Good morning." The Mother said to me as her mood shifted into a concerned look. "Do you have to wear this outfit again?"
"It's kinda my style, Oka-san." I said to her as she shook her head.
"No, I mean… the nobles of the main Kuroda-Marquis branch will become furious over the color you're wearing." My Mother said to me as I sighed.
"Because purple means royalty? I get that because Kunika is one but I'm not. I just like what I wear." I said the moment I took a seat where Kunika was seen eating her breakfast while our father was seen reading the newspapers where some pictures within it are actually moving. Of course, magic.
"That is true." My Father spoke in. "But have you considered wearing something that isn't purple?"
"This is what they had in stores when I first bought it before you guys came to our world and… adopted me in the process." I continued. "Besides… I'm needed today because Kunika is also needed, too."
"You're not wrong…" Kunika said as she ate her egg on toast and swallowed it before drinking her water. "I understand your concerns of why they dislike you but trust me. They're honest people."
"Honest as they are. They show disdain because of my arrogant behavior. I get the feeling that they just want me dead." I replied as I too, ate my breakfast. "So, Kunika… How's getting along with your friends back in France?"
"They're getting along. Rough but it's a slow process. The A-Unit and the B-Unit are reunified into one now. Ever since the whole Neuroi Hive incident at Kastovia. The world is now at peace from these Neuroi. Except-" I interrupted her as I spoke in.
"Our world's conflicts." I continued. "Words spread like wildfire that A World Without Borders is at it again."
"That…" Kunika continued as she finished eating her breakfast. "I still don't understand why these people have a vendetta against us Witches…"
"No idea. Perhaps people are just jealous." I replied as I finished up my food. "Anyways… Oto-san. Oka-san. I believe it's time for me and Kunika to visit… them."
"You don't seem thrilled, are you?" My mother asked me as I sighed with a nod. "I'm sure you'll make peace with them… eventually."
"We'll see…" I replied as I looked at Kunika as we both stood up. "So, are you ready to head off? I'll get my motorcycle ready. And you go get your Striker Unit."
"Hai! Race you there!~" Kunika then rushed off to head to the garage. Seine has been doing her best to keep quiet and not make a commotion since she is a Moon Witch and all.
So, I followed her to the garage as the door automatically opened as Kunika had her familiars activated and slipped her legs into her Striker Unit as I got on my motorcycle before turning on the engines as it roared. Seine decided to fly ahead and let us follow. However, we looked at our parents who waved at us.
"Be safe on your way there, you two!" Our mother said to us as we both nodded.
"Got it./Hai!" We both responded before we headed off down the road as we soon made our way… Of course… talking with nobles…

Sasebo, Japan Morning - Clear Sky
Third Person POV
Meanwhile in the city of Sasebo where the port is found where the IJN Shokaku, HMS Victorious, and the USS Enterprise was docked there as the Mighty Witches decided to remain here for the time being. However, within the shopping area where the people were going about their busy lives… a certain Fusoan Witch wearing her white naval uniform walked down the shopping area in order to remain alone for the time being… Her name was Mie Shindou, a member of the 508th JFW Mighty Witches. She had recently worked back with them months ago after their successful mission in quelling the Tsushima civil rebellion which was instigated by a certain Anti-Witch Group. Of course, there were no casualties aside from their enemy. In Shindou's perspective… killing people was their new norm now. But Witches won't kill a random civilian outright. They'll only eliminate those who threaten the peace of Japan and the world. But as time passed, Mie remained silent and worried where her time as a Witch might come to an end. Despite her age being at 19 and her birthday being on August 28. She only has five months left until she hits 20. And once she reaches that exact age… her magical energy will definitely weaken. She looked down on herself with uncertainty until…
[BUMP! THUD!]

"Oof!" Mie then bumps into someone as she falls to the ground until she looks at what's in front of her with a stern look on her face.
"Oh dear, was I in your way? I'm terribly sorry.~" The voice of a kind woman spoke as her appearance was out of the ordinary. She has long black hair and a slightly gloomy face and wears black clothes and a hat that resembles of Witches. Not Witches like Mie because she is an Earth Witch. But the woman was a Moon Witch. She has an 'X' symbol on her left eye and 'O' on her right eye.
"No, it's my fault that I didn't pay attention…" Mie said with a sigh. "Now then, if you'll excuse me…"
"Now hold it right there. I don't hold any hostility towards you or anything. I was hoping you'd be interested to talk with me. Perhaps you have something troubling within your mind. No?~" The Moon Witch said to her as Mie stopped.
"There isn't anything to talk about…" Mie replied bluntly with a slightly serious tone.
"Now, now.! Be open with me. Here, I'll introduce myself. My name is Almeria. Like you, I'm not an Earth Witch. But I come from the moon. Surely you've heard the collaboration between your people and ours, right?" Almeria said to her as she seemed aware about it.
"So I've heard. It's a small step to maintain a good relationship with both Earth and Moon. We've recently been given Arcanic Tools to explore a lot of possibilities with magic and technology. There were even considerations of those tools being applied to Striker Arms but that's been in the concept stage…" Mie explained about it as Almeria was rather surprised.
"You're spot on.~ But you haven't told me your name." Almeria asked.
"Squadron Leader Mie Shindou of the 508th JFW Mighty Witches… Are you satisfied?" Mie asked her as she nodded.
"I am. But if I recall. Before you all got your upgrades… you all used those interesting machinery… What were they called again? Striker Units?" Almeria continued. "It's no surprise that you Witches are willing to ditch those Units in favor for a newer version.~"
"Are you saying that we throw them away for nothing? Striker Units nowadays are still used in both civilian and military life. While the Striker Arms are primarily being used in the military more prominently." Mie glared at the Moon Witch as this slightly irritated her.
"No, no, no… I mean no disrespect. But when I first saw you. You seemed to be down. As I said, I'm here to have a simple discussion with you. Is it not hard?" Almeria said to Mie. But after a few seconds of pause… Mie then proceeded to sigh.
"I suppose it wouldn't hurt…" Mie said as she continued. "You see, I'm currently 19 years old. And I'm going to turn 20 in five months. Once I reach my age…"
"Your magical energy will diminish." Almeria added as Mie nodded.
"That. As well my consideration of leaving the Mighty Witches as a result… I'll be honest here… I have no future, no plans, anything. I just… I just don't know what to do now…" Mie then looked down as she clenched her fists as she seemed pained. Then, Almeria had a small smile…
"There is." Almeria said as Mie looked at her face. "There is a way to secure your future. You fear losing your magic. As a result, your status as a Witch will fade into nothingness. I understand your fear. All humans have those things in life. But as I said, there is a way to prevent that from happening."
Of course, Mie heard her words. She didn't understand how to find a way. But when she mentioned that her magical energy's diminishing decay could be prevented. This interests her.
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - That's Alright
"I'm listening…" Mie said as this made Almeria pleased. So, she provided her the dark purple book as the Earth Witch takes it from her hands. "The Tome of Boundless Magic…?"
"It's from my homeworld. The Moon, I mean. We Moon Witches read tomes is what earned ourselves to wield magic that provided a lot of knowledge. No familiars, no 'being born with magic at an early age', nothing. We just read to gain knowledge regardless of age. That's what lets us use magic. With this book, you can fly forever as much as you want. As well as using other kinds of magic. Of course, that choice is up to you.~" Almeria said to her as Mie felt a bit unsure.
"B-But… With all due respect… I can't accept this…!" Mie said with concern as the Moon Witch shook her head.
"Please, I wanted to show my kindness. Which is why I wanted to give it to you." Almeria has a smile… but it wasn't a smile… she had planned it all on her own.
The moment Mie decided to open the tome, she looked over the pages and this suddenly grabbed her interest… the boundless knowledge that the Moon Witches read… this was something for her to get used to. The moment she read through the pages… a dark aura slowly encroached on Mie as she had a sinister smile on her face…
"So… do you like it?~" Almeria said as she waited for her response…
"Yes, Almeria… Yes, I do…" Mie replied in a softer but happier tone as more of the dark aura surrounds her as her black short hair changes it's color into white, her eyes turns red and her skin turns awfully pale. It was a slow transformation… Mie Shindou had truly fallen from grace…
Kuroda-Marquis Daimyo, Miyazaki, Japan Morning - Clear Sky
First Person POV
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Kyoto
As time passed, we had already arrived at the daimyo where Kuroda was adopted by the main branch which led her to join the Noble Witches back in her world. Now in this world? It's still the same but… this time I'm around and the people around me glare at me with disdain. Most likely the color of my jacket and pants is the matching color that literally matches with Kunika's color of her hakama… Purple… always purple. But soon we headed inside the main room where there were a lot of people as they were kneeling on the floor and bowing on each side. There was an old looking man with black hair slicked back with a mustache. He has a menacing look on his face but… I can't quite describe him… But, what I can tell you is that he was the one responsible for adopting Kunika to the main branch. There was a white haired man who looked like a butler. His eyes were obscured by his brows as he stood next to him. I don't care about their names but this guy with a traditional japanese haori is the leader of the main branch. And the guy next to him is the butler.
"Thank you for taking your time, my esteemed daughter." The Leader said until he glared at me lightly. "And you…"
Good thing I have Seine perched on my shoulder. At least she'll be here as my emotional support…
"So… what's this all about?" Kunika asked in question but in a curious manner. The people around us were bickering with each other as if they were talking behind Kunika's back. Her whole personality, expression, and interactions. As if they see her as impolite and disrespectful to the Kuroda name… And above all else… they had to include me, too… God I want this to end quickly… I hate being here…
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Troubled
"With the Kuroda name brought to the rise thanks to your efforts in the participation at the Battle of Verdansk two months ago. I was able to contact these… Japanese Air Self-Defense Force to request a new Striker Arm unit for you to utilize. Of course… it will require you to wear the Striker Suit in tandem." The Leader explained the whole deal as this surprised her. She'll be getting a new Striker Suit & Arm.
"R-Really? But what of my Striker Unit? I've been using it all the time and it hasn't failed me once!" Kunika said in worry as the Leader closed his eyes and exhaled before opening his eyes again.
"I understand your concerns. All the Fusoan Witches are all stepping up with the usage of these upgrades. Which is why I went all the way to get them delivered to you and test it. Hence why… your previous Striker Unit will be discarded and dismantled." The Leader said as this lightly shocks her. However, I spoke in.
"If I may." I continued as I tried to play nice. "Would it be okay if I can use her old Striker Units?"
"What for, exactly?" The Leader asked me the question.
"I wanna dismantle the parts and replace my motorcycle parts with hers." I asked as I would get his response from him… in the most arrogant way.
"Absolutely not!" The Leader retorted. "There is no need for you to use it for your own needs. It's final that Kunika will use that upgrade while the previous will be thrown away. Do not ask any further questions again."
Yup… shot down. I looked at Kunika where she was filled with uncertainty for about ten seconds… However, she has made her decision…
"I… I accept." Kunika responded. "I will fly the new Striker Arm."
"Good." The Leader had a smirk as he snapped his fingers to command his butler.
"Ojou-sama, please put this on." The Butler provided her the Striker Suit as she looked at it.
"So… this is the suit? Hey, Naoto-kun? Do you think it'll fit?" Kunika asked me.
"It'll fit." I replied normally as I try to remain on my good side. Of course, I hate that leader. He just pisses me off. And he isn't aware about my right arm or the bird I have. Seems like he doesn't care.
"As for you, Naoto." The Leader continued as he glared at me in a serious manner. "Be grateful that you were adopted in the separate branch of the Kuroda family because you share the bloodline between you and Kunika. I may have ignored you for some time but now that you've made a pact with her previously and she bestowed you the gift. Once she receives her Suit and Arm. I will appoint you as Kunika's bodyguard. Protecting her will be your top and utmost priority above all else."
"It'd be an honor. Truly." I continued with a bow until I lifted up my body. "It's a shame that you would go to such lengths to dismantle her previous Striker Unit to simply throw it out like yesterday's garbage. Of course, throwing it out would mean discarding your 'daughter' like it was nothing."
"…What are you getting at?" The Leader had a glaring look in his eyes as the people around me started bickering.
Background Music End
"While I'd be happy to take the role as my sister's only bodyguard…" I continued as I decided to drop my kindness and went straight in with my personality. "I can't stand you and everyone here disrespecting us. This whole family is a fucking yakuza…!"
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Crisis
"H-How dare you call us that!?" Said the first person.
"Don't compare us to these lowly criminal gang syndicates, you disgraceful commoner!" Said the second person who was furious. Kunika watched me with worry as she was confused, too.
"Have you forgotten our kindness, Naoto!?" The Leader barked. "The Kuroda family is all about prestige! And yet, you dare sully on our family name! Disgraceful as you might be… Perhaps I was wrong about you having this much potential with your… abilities."
"You may think of that… But just so you know. I have my own problems to deal with. In case you've forgotten…" I proceeded to grab my right arm with my left hand as I pulled down my jacket sleeve to reveal the Moon Witch's Curse to everyone here. "I'm also cursed with this mark!"
"And what does it have to do with this! Looks like a pathetic tattoo to me!" The Leader retorted as I pulled the sleeve back up to hide my mark.
"And don't forget. I have this bird right here on my shoulder. You may think it looks like an ordinary bird but look closer." I said as I pointed to Seine who had been remaining silent the moment the Leader of the Kuroda Family looked at the bird.
"Clueless as you may be. Naoto speaks the truth." Seine spoke as it shocked everyone.
"N-Naoto-kun!? I-It talks!?" Kunika said in surprise… of course it talks.
"In case you've forgotten. This form isn't my actual form. Or rather, I was forced to be in this form against my will because of my former friend. I am a Moon Witch. But I, too, am an Enforcer." Seine continued. "Ever since I was stuck in this form, I had no choice but to rely on Naoto's strength and ability to help me hunt down the Moon Witches who dare break the law established by the High Council of Luna Asta and the Witch Corps. Therefore, I have chosen Naoto Kuroda to take over my role as a substitute Enforcer to help me complete my mission."
"A-And what does it have to do with this…" The Leader gritted his teeth.
"Any attempts in harming either both Naoto or Kunika will only bring the attention of not just the Witch Corps. The High Council, too. They'll evaluate what you did and will punish you for either trying to interfere with our work or committing a threat. We Moon Witches are not as forgiving as what your Earth's authorities are capable of." Seine said as she continued more. "Naoto here said he will accept the role as Kunika's bodyguard. But don't forget that he has a task, too. To help me judge Morgan and the six Moon Witches tied to each Seven Deadly Sins. Do we have an understanding?"
"Y-Yes…" The Leader felt defeated as everyone remained quiet as he kneeled down. Good, let that sink in, old man.
"And let me give you a piece of mind…" I continued to maintain my composure as I was serious. "I hate how the nobles act. And I hate this family. I'll continue to be a Kuroda. But not this. If you wanna look down on me, go ahead. I don't give two chickenshit about you boasting the status of this family name. A Kuroda is a Kuroda. Period. And the rest of you, if you want to prove yourself that you care about this family name so much? Then shut up and start showing some respect."
The bickering of the people began to ramp up as Kunika tried to plead with me.
"N-Naoto-kun! Please stop! Don't antagonize them further! You'll only make things worse!" Kunika tried to plead with me as I began to hear their anger towards me.
"This man… he has the nerves to speak so lowly against the family like poison!" The person said in anger.
"If he dares to speak in such a negative manner… Then he is no noble! He should be put to death!" Another person said in disdain as the voices within the room shouted as Kunika stood behind me closely as she held tightly to her Striker Suit until…
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Mystic
"Enough!" The voice of an older man boomed across the room as this caused everyone to stop. "I understand why you dislike him. I believe in Naoto as he is far more capable as Kunika's bodyguard. But I understand his reason for his disdain towards the noble family. Regardless, he is a Kuroda. Let a man make a decision for himself."
"Toushu-sama!" The person yelled at his name as they all bowed in respect… Of course… Toushu Kuroda, the real head of the main branch of the family. I heard that he is skilled with a naginata similar to what Kunika uses.
"My son… Are you intending to fail me once again as you once attempted with Kunika before back in our world?" Toushu glared at his son, the Leader. He was sweating as he tried to speak.
"N-N-No… I wasn't… T-This young brat here sullied our name! It's unacceptable!" The Leader tried to reason him.
"I'm already aware. Me and Naoto have spoken before back at the hospital when he was injured at the time. He has his disdain towards the behavior of the noble family and that's fine. Naoto is a reasonable man with his ambitions. Him accepting the role as Kunika's bodyguard is more than enough. It will help restore the Fuso Empire's pride under our name." Toushu said as the Leader kept his mouth shut in defeat. It's called Japan. Not Fuso.
"H-Hai… I apologize…" The Leader bows down in apology as Toushu looks at us.
"Kunika, you will look great when you are paired with the Striker Arm. I only hope to test your skills again but… I am but an old man, see?" Toushu said to her as she blushed.
"R-Right… N-Naoto-kun. You mind watching me fly with it?" Kunika asked me as I nodded.
"Yeah. I will." I replied to her until I looked at Toushu who seemed to be asking me.
"While we watch Kunika fly. Would you mind having a chat with me?" Toushu said to me as I blinked my eyes. What talk?
As minutes passed, the Butler had already presented the Ki-43 Hayabusa Striker Arm on the newer version of the Striker Holder where Kunika had switched into her Striker Suit as it fits on her. Then the moment she attaches herself on the Striker Arm, her familiar activates as it feeds magic into the machine as it roars to life. The small magic propeller collar on her neck begins to spin rapidly. The Holder disconnects as it sends her flying in the air everyone here watched her go, leaving a contrail in the process. Of course, I was seen having a conversation with Toushu, who holds no disdain towards me.
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Joy
"Do you see her flying?" Toushu said to me as I looked at her. "You can tell her that she's enjoying it. Of course, our dear maiden will continue to serve the Noble Witches even after the war against the Neuroi is over."
"Even with the Neuroi gone. There's going to be conflicts." I continued. "But that's not the point… I'm just worried about my right arm."
"Ahh, that. Still thinking over it?" Toushu said to me as I felt uncertain.
"Perhaps. I just don't know if it'll turn me into something horrendous… or kill me. I don't know." I continued as I clenched my right hand. "Right now, I'm doing whatever I can to fight against this fate. The Moon Witches' curse isn't easy as it seems. Say, old man. Do you believe what I'm about to do is wrong?"
"Unless provoked unintentionally, my boy." Toushu continued. "That choice of decision is up to you. That journey you make will be decided by you. I almost forgot one thing, Naoto. As Kunika's bodyguard, you will go to France and assist her along with the 506th Noble Witches. While she is capable, protecting her is all that matters in this family. You don't need to do this for the Kuroda family. But on your own volition. Can you do that?"
"I will, old man- no… Toushu-san. I will." I replied to him as I made my own decision. My role as an Enforcer is to hunt down the Seven Moon Witches who broke the laws. But also as Kunika's bodyguard. She can't handle her problems on her own as they tasked me to remain with her at all costs.
Toushu is the only person who can understand me. He understands my hatred and disdain towards the Kuroda family because of how it operates. And now, he understands my choices and decisions which will be left by me. He seems empathic for some reason… Perhaps this left me questioning… What is my purpose? Seine wants me to take her place as an Enforcer. And Toushu is expecting me to be Kunika's bodyguard. I could juggle both at the same time but… I need to free myself of this curse. I just need to find her. The Moon Witch named Morgan. Suddenly…
"Heeeey!~" Kunika called for us as she hovered in her Striker Arm. "Did you see me fly? I was seriously fast!"
"Ahh, apologies. I was talking to young Naoto here." Toushu chuckled with a smile.
"Like he said." I added in.
"Geez, you could've seen me flying while you two were talking…" Kunika pouted as she calmed down. "Anyways, now that I have tested out how it works. I think I'm ready to bring this Striker Arm with me."
"That's good to hear, Kunika. I will contact the army to have your Striker Arm delivered to the transport plane on the IJN Taihou." Toushu continued. "While your trip back to France will be arduous. I have made sure that Naoto here will accompany you no matter what. We cannot afford any risks."
"I understand." Kunika said as she parked her Striker Arm at the holder as she got off as she then approached us. I was no longer sitting since it was time for what's next. She won't leave until tomorrow morning so we have a lot of time to prepare. "Now that's over… I need to dress back to the way it was. You mind waiting for me outside of the Daimyo?"
"Right. Thanks for the talks, Toushu-san. It was… pleasant." I continued. "I'll be heading outside. But… what of her Striker Arm?"
"Don't worry, I'll have the army load it. It'll be at Sasebo. I may have forgotten to tell her about it so would you remind her of me?" Toushu asked.
"I will." I replied as I proceeded to leave on my own and wait for Kunika to get dressed.
As time passed by I leaned on my motorcycle as Seine still remained on my shoulders.
"You truly do care for your sister, Naoto." Seine continued. "But, I wonder… are you sure it's wise to become her bodyguard? This will potentially hinder our line of work as an Enforcer. With it, we'll never get our chance in stopping Morgan."
"I understand your concerns. But this was against my will." I continued. "I may be adopted into the Kuroda family. But my sister, Kunika, is a noble. And I have to protect her with my life. After all, she needs to return to France and reunite with the Noble Witches. I could only imagine her words of telling me to be nice to them… Yet, I have never met them before."
"Naoto-kun! Sorry I'm late!" Kunika said as she arrived to me as she was back wearing her usual purple hakama.
"You're right on time." I continued. "Since you're heading back to France with my accompanying you… We do have to tell our parents about it, first."
"A-Ahh… You're right… I know I'm not here to stay in Japan… They just wanted me to get an upgrade and I did. Sorry if I couldn't convince Toushu's son to get my Striker Unit back…" Kunika seemed saddened about it as I patted her head and looked at me.
"Don't worry, I'm sure things will change. I might have slipped in my request to Toushu so… It might happen." I said to her as she was surprised.
"Really!? That's great!" Kunika continued. "I'd be happy to use it again. The Arm is great but… the Striker Unit is way too familiar with me. And If I recall… you were planning to dismantle it for your own benefits, do you?"
"W-What? I mean… I wanna use those Striker Unit parts to modify my motorcycle and-" I was shot down by Kunika's response as she let out a 'X' on her arms.
"Nuh-uh! Absolutely not!" Kunika replied as I sighed.
"Naoto Kuroda, yes? Seine's substitute Enforcer?" The woman asked me as we noticed her arrival.
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - Troubled
"Yes, that would be me. Who are you?" I asked her as she began to introduce herself with courtesy.
"My name is Minaria. A messenger working under the High Council of Luna Asta as well as being appointed as Seine's messenger. Of course, I heard what happened to you, Seine." The Moon Witch named Minaria looked at Seine as she preened her wings.
"I'm well aware of it. Have you got the updates on their whereabouts?" Seine asked her as Minaria handed the scroll to me as I opened and read it.
"I have. With the cooperation of the Witch Corps. The Earth Witches have managed to sense the Dark Magic's presence located in Sasebo." Minaria spoke of the location as this made me remember. What's important here is that one of the Seven Moon Witches of Sin is involved as it shows a face of a woman with black long hair and a gloomy face. She has an 'X' symbol on her left eye and 'O' on her right eye.
"Almeria…" I said her name as Minaira spoke to us while Kunika looked at the scroll to see.
"She bears the Sin of Envy as confirmed in this scroll. From what the Earth Witches have gathered… Almeria has influenced one of the Fusoan Witches affiliated with the 508th JFW Mighty Witches by the name of Mie Shindou. She has turned into a Fallen Witch as a result." Minaria explained the situation as I began to hear something familiar.
"Mie Shindou? I've heard of her during my part time job at Sasebo. She's an ace from the 508th JFW Mighty Witches. And there's no way she's a Fallen Witch… Tell me you're lying?" I said to her as she shook her head.
"I wish I wasn't…" Minaria continued with a sigh. "But right now, your role as an Enforcer is important. We are to depart to Sasebo and deal with the situation. As well as dealing with Almeria."
"Can't say no to that…" I sighed and looked at Kunika. "Change of plans, Kunika. We're going to Sasebo. Do you have a katana with you?"
"I-I do but… Do we have to go now?" Kunika asked.
"Mie's life is at stake. Saving her from the Dark Magic's influence is all that matters. So get on." I said to her as we both got on my motorcycle as I turned on its engine. "Seine, you can fly on ahead."
"And I will do just that." Seine replied as she flew off into the sky as Minaria summoned her broom as she sat on it.
"Shall we begin, Substitute Enforcer Naoto?" Minaria asked me as I nodded.
"Yeah…" I replied as we proceeded to move our way to the coastal port city of Sasebo. I just hope we'll make it soon enough…
Sasebo, Japan Daytime - Clear Sky
Third Person POV
Meanwhile, back at Sasebo at some park where nearby was a large river pass that connects from the outside of the city's port area. However, something has happened… Takami Karibuchi, who arrived with her sister Hikari Karibuchi and her adopted brother Tendou Karibuchi after Tendou used his drone to warn Takami of the situation of Mie Shindou, who has succumbed to the influence of the Dark Magic all thanks to the tome that Almeria provided. Of course, Mie had already become a Fallen Witch as a result as she had finally grasped the Dark Magic easily as she learned new ways to utilize magic. Albeit, through ulterior means.
Background Music | Persona 3 OST - That Which Escaped From the Darkness
"Shindou!" Takami, who wore her casual dress as she arrived to confront her only friend while Hikari and Tendou only came to watch.
"Ahh, Karibuchi… You've arrived." Fallen Mie said with a small smile. Indeed, Takami wouldn't stand for this.
"Why… Why are you doing this!? What has happened to you!?" Takami demanded in worry.
"Do you not realize?" Fallen Mie continued as she looked up at the blue sky. "My age… The age, Karibuchi. Once we reach the age of 20, our magic will weaken and one day will disappear. Just as I knew… there was a way to allow our magical energy to continue… Is through the use of the Dark Magic. It was thanks to this tome that saw me open my eyes! Karibuchi, join me. Learn Dark Magic, and you'll continue to become a Witch… forever… it's the only way."
"Dark… Magic…?" Hikari said in confusion. "Onii-chan? What does Shindou-san mean by Dark Magic?"
"I've read reports and news about the sudden rise. Some Witches were surprised by its sudden appearance but… no one knows who invented it." Tendou continued with a stern look. "But never would I think a Witch would learn Dark Magic to become… this."
"But, I'm still one… And… I know you. You're not one to accept something so willingly. Think of your friends, and what kind of future lies ahead of you." Takami tried to reason with her in order to make Mie snap out of it. Of course, the Dark Magic has corrupted her mind, her rationality, her way of thinking. It changed her.
"I have no future, Karibuchi…" Fallen Mie frowned a bit. "You changed as well. You left the JFW on your own volition to focus on unimportant things that you deem important! What happened to our days in the military!? Why must you abandon your duty that we swear an oath towards? No… you've abandoned me. You are not the Karibuchi that I know…"
"I'm not abandoning you! I want you back! The real you!" Takami exclaimed as she started to shed a tear from this emotional confrontation. She could feel the dark aura emanating around her.
Background Music | Persona 3 Reload OST - Unavoidable Battle
"It appears that you'll never understand… The time for talks is over. I'm sorry, Takami Karibuchi…" Fallen Mie then proceeds to have a gust of wind swirling around her as she begins to concentrate her dark magical energy as her familiar begins to activate. "Die for me…"
"TAKAMI!" Tendou rushed in as Fallen Mie shot out a gust of barreling wind as he protected her, causing him to be knocked back and rolled on the ground. He groans in pain as he is injured.
"Tendou-kun!" Takami yelled for her brother as she looked back at Mie who was ready to launch another wind attack.
"Takami-nee! Watch out!" Hikari calls out her older sister as Takami activates her familiar as she raises up her shield to block the incoming gust attack as she manages to withstand it.
"Shindou, please! Open your eyes! This isn't you!" Takami yelled as she pleaded for her to stop.
"You're a pain in the ass…! Begone and die! You sicken me!" Fallen Mie retorted as she proceeded to conjure a ball of wind on her hand. "Dark Magic Technique: Gust Grenade!"
Fallen Mie threw two of her wind grenades as they were thrown near Takami. But the gust grenades bursted out condensed air as it nearly blows away Takami as she screams and falls to the ground.
"N-No… Takami-nee… Get up…!" Tendou called out to his older sister as he tried to move but his legs gave in. "Damn it…!"
"Y-You won't get past me… Shindou-san… please open your eyes…!" Hikari shouted at her in an attempt to reason with her but it fell on deaf ears."
"Annoying little bitch…!" Fallen Mie spat in annoyance as she was ready to use a gust of wind until…

"That's enough!" I shouted as I managed to call her out as it canceled her wind magic. No doubt that's Mie from the Mighty Witches… Just what the hell happened to her? Are we too late? She managed to hurt these two but not the younger one. Good thing we arrived to see the situation happening. Can't believe that she became a Fallen in the process.
Background Music | Persona 3 Reload OST - Mass Destruction
"It appears we've got more guests, then? Good…" Fallen Mie replied as she looked at us.
"N-Naoto-kun? I think she's looking at us?" Kunika asked me.
"No shit." I continued. "My right arm is sensing that Almeria is nearby but… Well, whatever. I'll cure her of Dark Magic's influence. Kunika, focus on getting these three to safety. I will handle Mie myself. Minaria, keep watch."
"H-Hai!" Kunika said as she rushed over to the three in order to help them.
"I'll make sure to heal you if you're injured." Minaria said to me as I responded.
"Mages don't feel pain but… Feel free. I may tend to lose blood but whatever." I replied as Seine flew as she hovered.
"Be careful, Naoto… Just remember what your mentor Myst taught you." Seine said to me as she mentioned a mentor of mine. She is also both a Moon Witch and an Enforcer named Myst who is an expert in using water-based magic.
With her insights, that helped me improve my water-based skills overall. Sadly, my water blade isn't entirely effective because I came up with it myself. When I talked to my mentor Myst about the idea. She told me that it is considered less effective in offensive combat. All she ever taught me was Water Magic is only designed for defensive capabilities as well as subjugation.
"Focus on subjugating the target, I know." I replied as I prepared myself with a water blade on my left hand.
"You think that pathetic blade made out of water could hurt me? You make me laugh…" Fallen Mie spat at me as I converted the blade as it formed itself into a ball of water, using my right hand to raise up the ball as it grew bigger and bigger as it was borrowing it from the nearby river pass.
"We'll see about that… Ha!" I commanded my bladeless handle that was hurling towards my opponent in order to hit her. However, she uses her wind blades from her hand to disperse it away as drops of water fall.
"Is that all you can do…?" Fallen Mie said to me as she wasn't aware while I was still standing.
"Perhaps… but you've forgotten one more thing." I continued as I used my hand gesture on my left hand to control the water that the Fallen Mie had blown away. "I've already won. Water Magic Technique: Aqua Sphere Prison!"
[SWOOSH!]
The water begins to reform itself from below and above as Mie was caught off guard the moment she saw it. The water orb was formed around Mie as I managed to trap her within the body of water. I never wanted to kill a Fusoan Witch such as Mie. But, drowning her to render her unconscious is the only way to do so. I continued my focus to keep the water orb active in order to subjugate her. This technique originated from Myst's abilities that she taught me. It took me multiple tries to get it right, too. Of course, this was after I was cursed by Morgan. Seine introduced me to Myst since she pretty much lives in a secluded area within Miyazaki, preferably in the mountains. After all, Moon Witches can get attached to humans at times which is why Enforcers exist to keep their kind in check. And just like that… I heard Mie gasping for air as I used my timing to raise down the ball of water, dispelling my Aqua Sphere Prison. Mie had fallen unconscious so it should be safe to do so.
"Done…" I said to myself as I approached her. "You've suffered enough, Mie… Allow me to ease your pain."
Background Music End
So, I used my right arm as it proceeds to react as the essence of dark magic flows right into my arm as it continues sapping it continuously. Her hair color and skin reverts back to normal as well. And just as that, my right arm had sapped all of her Dark Magic influence. However, the brown haired young woman rushed towards Mie as she checked her pulse and looked at me.
"Thank you for saving her… I don't know what you did but… I'm grateful." The young woman asked me.
"Don't mention it. I assume she's a friend of yours?" I asked her.
"More like my ally. My name is Takami Karibuchi. Former member of the 508th JFW Mighty Witches." Takami continued. "The other two who were with me are Hikari Karibuchi and Tendou Karibuchi."
"So I've heard. You're the Hero of Sasebo who took part in the Battle of the Sea of Japan last year." I said to her as she is well aware of her role.
"Indeed. I've been accustomed to this type of fame but… Ever since I left Mighty Witches and went on to marry my husband, Ryoji Inumuta." Takami continued as she looked down a bit to pause before looking at me. "Of course, my name would be Takami Inumuta as a result. But, I am allowed to keep my maiden name if I were to return back to my military lifestyle."
"Takami-nee! You're still a Karibuchi through and through!" The brown short haired girl Hikari continued. "I understand why you decided to leave the 508th. Don't you think you've hurt Shindou-san because of it?"
"Ahh… Perhaps I did. I never realized it…" Takami said as she looked at my right arm. "But if I may ask… Who are you? What happened to your right arm?"
"Naoto Kuroda. Substitute Enforcer for the High Council of Luna Asta. More specifically… I took over Seine's role. As for my right arm… I've been cursed by a certain Moon Witch. You can see its glow, I can tell the Prime Moon Witch of Sin is close by. And I assume you met my sister?" I asked her as she nodded.
"Kunika? She told me about you being adopted and related." Takami said as I sighed.
"That is true. For now…" I then looked to see Mie groaning as she began to regain her consciousness. "You should talk to her."
Background Music | Persona 5 OST - Regret
"Shindou…" Takami continued. "Are… are you okay?"
"What… what was I doing…?" Mie said as she realized the fact of what she had done… "Right… I tried to hurt you… Apologies, Karibuchi…"
"Please, don't blame yourself… I understand the pain you've been going through. It must've been rough for you to endure it. But there is an important matter in mind, Shindou. So please be real with, truthfully… Why did you become a Fallen?" Takami pressed her ally with the question.
"It's because of my fears…" Mie continued. "At one point, we would age once we reach 20-years old. And when that time comes, our magical energy will diminish. Our time as a Witch would end. Because of it… I… I wanted to find ways to continue being a Witch and…"
"Calm down, Shindou… How'd you become a Fallen in the first place?" I joined in the conversation in order to figure out what happened.
"The Moon Witch named Almeria handed me the tome. She said that it'll help me unlock the tome's latent magical energy that is different from ours. That it would change forever. But the moment I delve further into the knowledge of it… I was consumed by my own greed that led me to wield Dark Magic. Or rather, I was forced." Mie then brings out the tome as I looked at it. Took it from her hands lightly, I proceeded to inspect the book cover but I abstained myself from reading the pages.
"Forced?" Kunika asked as she arrived with Tendou and Hikari. "Why do this?"
"You know my reasons… It was foolish of me…" Mie continued. "But now that Karibuchi has left the Mighty Witches… I fear the whole JFW would fall apart without her around. She has a husband and daughter. I could respect her decision but in my heart… It was hurting."
"Shindou…" Takami said as if her heart began to ache. "I know we'll meet that age soon, but we'll still have it, albeit a little weakened. We'll always be Witches, and we'll still be around even if we don't have magic anymore. I know you always like being a Witch, so, you might as well live it as a good one."
"She's right!" Hikari jumped in. "She's still your friend. It's never too late to make amends, y'know?"
"You know what, Shindou. I might as well bring this up. I'm willing to rejoin the Mighty Witches." Takami said to her friend as this surprises her.
"Y-You will?" Mie said suddenly as she nodded.
"Hai. I can't leave you out there yourself. Even though I'm already over 20 and looking after my family… I'll always juggle them regardless." Takami continued as she stood up and helped Mie up as she proceeded to look at me with a serious tone. "Naoto Kuroda, you said that you work as an Substitute Enforcer, yes?"
"I do." I replied.
"I understand how Moon Witch Enforcers operate when it comes to delivering judgment. Shindou has been my longtime ally for who knows how long. I understand that what my friend did was unacceptable. Unacceptable to the point where us Earth Witches practicing the use of Dark Magic may have breached the laws created by both the High Council of Luna Asta and the Witch Corps… So please. I don't want to see Shindou punished gravely for the things she has done…" Takami lightly pleaded as I looked at Mie…
"To think that you would take over the role of an Enforcer for a Moon Witch… Very well, listen carefully." Mie continued as she felt disappointed and defeated upon herself. Kunika, Tendou, Hikari, Seine, and Minaria watched. I begin to listen to her words. "I will confess everything to you… What I have done was truly a terrible deed. I simply desired to find ways in becoming a Witch forever. Life wasn't fair, yes. But still, I ended up looking for help and drew my attention to a Moon Witch who offered me greater magic that I couldn't comprehend. I was oblivious of myself and my surroundings. I ended up becoming much more terrible and tried to hurt Karibuchi out of fear and jealousy. And now, I have given you the explanation. I'm ready to accept whatever punishment from either the High Council or the Witch Corps…"
"It's not your fault." I said to her as she lightly gasped the moment she looked at me. "Almeria, the Moon Witch of Envy is to blame for this. She used you and took advantage of your problems so she can allow chaos to happen. I may be a Substitute Enforcer for Seine… But I will say this, I will not punish you for the crimes you've committed just because you became a Fallen and used Dark Magic. I know you want to atone but… all life must move on. No matter how hard it gets, we all have to accept this reality and move forward. So again, I will not punish you. Period."
"A wise choice, Naoto." Minaria continued with a reassuring nod. "That is for the Witch Corps to decide since we don't have the authority to punish Earth Witches. After all, the Earth-Moon Magia Law is created to ensure a stabilizing peace across both kinds."
I have Minaria the book since she is quite familiar with it. But I did check that Almeria is indeed the author of that tome. Having to deal with Fallen Witches is more than enough.
"Thank you, Kuroda…" Takami said with a small smile. "Thank you for sparing Mie's judgment. But she is right… I'm not sure the Witch Corps will be aware of this but… I want to make sure to look after Mie as she looked after me."

"You can worry about that later. For now…" I continued as I walked past the girls. My right arm is still reacting since she's near. "You can stop hiding now, Almeria. Give it up."

"Oh dear…~ Seems you've found me. No wonder that right arm of yours really has wonders. Lady Morgan is right… You're truly something.~" The voice of Almeria appears after she comes out from her invisibility.
"As so they say…" I continued as I used the sword handle to form a water blade and pointed at her. "Your days of feeding Witches with Dark Magic are over. Why did you give Mie the tome? What's your goal here?"
"My goal? Well, it's simple. I made copies of that tome and have them sold to Earth Witches all by myself. Of course, they're free so I have no interest in using your world's form of money." Almeria continued as she placed her left index finger to her cheek and slightly tilted her head. "So far, I think I've sold about 500 copies of the tome.~ And I'm willing to do it again if you wouldn't mind."
"In your dreams…" I retorted.
"Wow!~ Amazing words for a human who decided to take over poor Seine's role as an Enforcer.~" Almeria replied sarcastically.
"You're going to regret those words, Almeria. Morgan is to blame for this. Naoto and I were victims of the mess she caused." Seine replied as she perched onto the top of the street lamp.
"Seine's not wrong here." I continued. "Usually, Enforcers like Seine or Myst would punish you Moon Witches back to the moon to face your punishment. But since you're affiliated with Morgan and earned yourself an Eternal Sin along the other six. The High Council of Luna Asta has given me a special right to eradicate you by freeing myself from Morgan's curse."
I then presented Almeria the right arm where one of the thorny briar was glowing as it was directly tied to Almeria's sin, the Sin of Envy.

"The time for talks is over. Almeria, I hereby give you a verdict… Guilty." I declared that I didn't want to waste time. Almeria then smiled as she summoned her staff out of thin air.
"Guilty as charged!~ Since you want to kill me this badly… I'll play your game. Let the Witching Hour commence!~" Almeria announced as she snapped her finger where she managed to create a Bounded Territory-like field called the Witching Hour as it covers the whole park entirely.
However, this type of Bounded Territory created by a Moon Witch is much more dangerous compared to how Fallen Witches can create a weaker version of a barrier. Much like the weaker version, electronics such as phones are disabled. But this time, the barrier turns the sky into blood red as if a Blood Moon happened. And worse of all, none of us can't leave unless the owner of the barrier can either dispel it or die. I'm glad Seine gave me a rundown of how the Witching Hour created by Moon Witches works. They're considered extremely forbidden according to the Earth-Moon Magia Law. Of course, when being inside the Moon Witch's Witching Hour, the scenery also changed into something that is eerie but twisted. The river next to the park was filled with blood, buildings have become completely barren, trees and grass withering, blood puddles spilt on flat concrete surfaces. And most important of all… a large blood red moon.
"W-What is this…!? Hell, my phone isn't working!" Tendou said in shock as Hikari, on the other hand, feels frightened about the atmosphere.
"I'm scared… Onii-chan… I'm scared…" Hikari stood behind Tendou out of fear as Kunika felt uncomfortable as she unsheathed her katana.
"This place gives me the creeps… Why do I get the feeling that we're going to get killed anytime soon?" Kunika asked me as I remained in my composure.
"Let's hope that won't happen. The others are dragged into this mess. Sorry about this, Takami-san." I said to her as she shook her head.
"Nevermind that, Kuroda." Takami continued. "As much as I could help. I am without a firearm. So do whatever it takes to defeat her… This 'Witching Hour' she calls it? This truly gives us Witches a bad reputation…"
"Don't worry, we'll have it dealt with. Just have Mie at your side." I said to her as I looked back at Kunika. "Ready?"
"I'm always ready, Naoto-kun. Let's go get her!" Kunika said with confidence as we readied ourselves.
"You will not take me down that easily, kitties.~" Almeria continued. "Earth Witches are simply inferior and that's a fact. Thus, we Moon Witches overpower you all no matter what tools or weapons you throw at me. In the end, I'll always win.~"
Then, Almeria then uses her staff as it was filled with Dark Magic as it proceeds to summon skeleton soldiers from the ground through the magic circle as many more were rising out of it. She literally formed an army… these skeleton soldiers were armored as if they came straight out of a fantasy medieval europe novels or films as they wielded swords, appears, bows, axes, and various types of melee weapons. These types of skeletons range from human-size to simply a slightly larger skeleton that is two stories tall.
"Great… Just great…" I sighed to myself as Kunika rushed ahead.
"I'm going on ahead! You go get that Moon Witch!" Kunika said as she recklessly attacks the army of skeletons as she activates her familiar to enhance her attacks to cut the skeleton army easily.
"That's the whole plan…!" I replied as I pointed my water blade with both hands in order to concentrate using Kunika's borrowed magical energy. The blade proceeds to swirl itself as it is ready… "Water Magic Technique: Tidal Typhoon!"
[SWOOOOOOSH!]
The blast of water propels towards Almeria like a typhoon as it was directly towards her. But she summons a large skeletal hand to block the blast of water. The moment she raised down the skeletal hand. I already started running towards her as I passed through the destroyed skeletons. Proceeding to leaping up high. I tried to attempt grabbing her head with my right arm until…
"Shit!" I cursed as another large skeletal hand grabbed me unnoticed. "Nggh…!"
"Struggle if you must. Your bones could crack any time soon. Or perhaps you can join me?~" Almeria asked me as I responded.
"Eat shit…" I cursed at her as Almeria sighed in disappointment. She uses her hand to command the skeleton hand to slowly crush me as I struggle in pain. "GAAAH!"
"Becoming defiant, are we?" Almeria continued. "Seems I was wrong about you. You've done a terrible job on being an Enforcer, y'know?~"
[FWOOSH! SLASH!]
Suddenly, a slash of wind managed to cut the wrist part of the skeletal hand as it dropped me on the floor, catching my breath to breathe. However, Minaria has used her grimoire to shoot out a gust blade to free me. She rushed towards me and proceeded to heal me with mer magic with her right hand hovering at my chest.
"Are you okay?" Minaria asked me as I slowly got up.
"I got a bit careless. But she really seems to put up a good fight from the sidelines." I continued. "I need to subdue her somehow…"
"I do have some ideas. But it'll require the two of us to combine our elemental attacks together to throw off our opponent. Can you do that?" Minaria said to me as I nodded.
"Got it. I'll follow your lead." I said to her as she tipped up her glasses.
"I may not be an Enforcer. But that doesn't mean I could sit back and watch you die." Minaria said as she flipped the pages of her grimoire as she cast a swirling whirlwind around Almeria as I used a orb of water to enlarge as it was sucked within the whirlwind to create a typhoon swirling around our opponent. Then, she controlled my water's temperature as it created shards of ice that continued to swirl.
"Fusion Technique: Torrential Rime!" We both said in unison as the typhoon eventually froze itself in the process.
"Now!" Minaria said to me as I rushed towards the frozen typhoon.
As soon as I leaped up into the air as the frozen typhoon began to shatter itself the moment I entered within her range.
"Oh no you-" Almeria was interrupted as I managed to use my right arm to grab her neck. "N-No…!"
Background Music End
"It's over…" I responded as my right arm proceeded to react with a glow while sapping all of her magical energy of Dark Magic in the process. As I pinned her down while holding her neck… her entire body begins to fade away in magic particles the moment she begins to speak.
"So… this is my end, isn't it?" Almeria continued in irritation. "You think you've won… Know that Morgan and the others are still active and you'll never reach her or them…! Of course, the Fallen Witches are on the rise since I already planned out before the whole Earth-Moon Magia Law was implemented! No matter what… you'll forever be cursed!"
"Then so be it. This isn't about revenge." I continued with a calm but serious tone. "This is about sending a message."
"Hmph… you're truly idiotic in the end…" Almeria smiled as she closed her eyes as she disappeared. Just as that, the magic particles formed into a heart.
This was said to be the Core for the Moon Witch. It looks like a human heart but it's tainted with Dark Magic from within as it was beating normally. My right arm is still glowing. So I know what I have to do. I grabbed the Tainted Heart with my right hand as it proceeded to react. As the right arm proceeds to consume the Tainted Heart as it begins to dematerialize slowly. One of my thorny briars begins to erase itself as I see it… one down… Six to go. The skeletons she had summoned begin to die off and the Witching Hour barrier shatters in the process as everything is reverted back to normal. I noticed Kunika kneeling on the floor as if something happened as if she was in pain.

"Hey, you okay?" I asked her the moment she got up to look at me.
"Y-Yeah. Don't mind me. I… I was tired. These guys really tried to wear me out." Kunika continued. "But hey, is it over?"
"It's over." I replied as I showed her my arm. "Got rid of one so six more to go."
"Really? That's great! You gotta start off somewhere, after all. But nevermind that… We gotta check up on the others." Kunika replied as I nodded at her. So, we approached them after they saw what happened.
"Hey, are you all unharmed?" I asked them as one spoke up.
"We're all fine." Takami continued. "But I must say… I never knew you somehow defeated Almeria just like that…"
"That's pretty much my job." I continued. "After all, this isn't a big deal since we're leaving for France tomorrow morning."
"Is that so?" Takami asked.
"Yeah. You see… Kunika needs to reunite with her friends from Noble Witches and I am to accompany her." I continued as I took a deep breath. "But damn, I feel tired…"
"You have managed to remove one sin regardless." Minaria continued as she looked at me. "Oh yes. I'd like to have that tome that Almeria created."
"I nearly forgot. Here." I then gave her the tome as it took it from my hands. "You gonna head back to the moon now?"
"Certainly. I will have to report to the High Council of this situation that Almeria has caused. The rise of Fallen Witches is certainly going to pose a problem. Now then, if you'll excuse me…" Minaria then uses her grimoire as she summons a fancy door as she enters through it. She closes the door as it disappears. Implying that she has gone back to the moon.
"And there she goes…" I said as I holster my bladeless handle on my hip… I'm starting to doubt this idea that I came up with. Perhaps it's time for a change. For now… "Mie… You do not need to be disappointed in yourself. You are who you are. Live your life as you see fit. Even if your time as a Witch may end sooner or later. Just know that you're not alone."
"Thanks…" Mie said as Takami helped her up on her two feet.
"I'm sure she'll be okay now that my older sis is working back for the Mighty Witches… The question is what now?" Tendou said in question as Hikari spoke.
"Ahh! You said that you'll be going with Kunika-san to France tomorrow, right? Why not stay with us. We have a guest room in our home so you two can rest up. Don't worry, our parents won't mind as long as me and Takami-nee ask them." Hikari spoke of the idea as I was slightly surprised.
"Really now? I appreciate your offer. We'll take it. I'm sure you wouldn't mind, Kunika?" I asked her as she nodded.
"You're not wrong. I'd crash at Karibuchi's home and rest up… I'm totally beat…" Kunika replied as we both do share the same mentality.
"Same here." I replied as I looked at Takami. "And what of Mie?"
"I'll have to walk her back to Shoukaku so she can rest up. I'll have to talk to Wing Commander Thatch on my request to return." Takami said as she looked at her friend. "Shall we go?"
"Yes… please…" Mie responded as Takami helped her head back. As we saw her go… I proceeded to stretch my arms until Seine flew and perched on my shoulder.
"You did well, Naoto. I can tell you're tired. We should rest at the place. After all… I get the feeling that we've made enemies with Morgan now…" Seine said with some worry.
"True… but at least we'll have to prepare for what's next." I replied.
"You guys ready?" Hikari said to us as Kunika nodded.
"Yeah. Can you two show us the way?" Kunika asked them as she happily nodded.
"Hai! Leave it to me! Onii-chan, let's go!" Hikari said to her brother as he sighed.
"Sure, sure. If I must…" Tendou sighed as we all left the park in order to head to their home and rest up.
With the Sin of Envy known as Almeria was eliminated. Along with the curse of Envy on my right arm removed. Only six thorny briars tied to each Sins remaining. I'm still far from my goal but I'm getting there… I'm coming, Morgan… I defeat you and free myself from this curse.

Unknown Location, France Nighttime - Clear Sky
Third Person POV
Meanwhile somewhere within the unknown location in France was inside the fancy room that heavily resembles the Victorian era. Inside, Morgan was seen sitting at the round table where she and the other six whose faces were obscured by the shadows.
"Lady Morgan…" One of the Moon Witches spoke up. "It appears Almeria has been defeated by someone… I can assure you that my gut tells me that it happened."
"Hmm… Is that so?" Morgan continued as she lightly raised her brow. "Last time I remember, she was simply hanging around in Japan to do her own menial things. And now, you're telling me that someone defeated her?"
"Yes, Lady Morgan… I'm certain of it." A Moon Witch replied with a stern response. Morgan paused herself in order to think of what's next now that Almeria is gone.
"Very well…" Morgan sighed as her eyes darted to someone within that seat. "Eterzia, my beloved Sin of Sloth. Would you kindly head to Japan and find someone responsible? I dislike having some thin patience."
"Yeah, yeah… Leave it to me, I guess…" The young gray haired woman with sleep-deprived eyes and a gloomy look on her face spoke as she stood up from her seat and yawned. Then, she turns around and leaves through the dark mist as she teleports away with her Dark Magic.
"Now, all the pieces are set… I wonder how this will play out…" Morgan said to herself as she waited patiently… until the moment finally came.

Author's Notes: Hello all, thank you for reading the first chapter of Season 2 of this story. This chapter only focuses on the introduction of Naoto as well as his role as Seine's Substitute Enforcer. With his quest to free himself of Morgan's curse on his right arm. He'll have a long journey ahead. Season 2 has been going through a lot of ideas and revisions to the point where I landed on this idea so I'm happy with what it turned out. The next chapter will finally let Naoto and Kunika finally set off to France… or is it? So I look forward to it. Until then, peace out!
-[Explanations]-
How does Naoto's Right Arm works?: Naoto's right arm was a tricky one to come up with, but it's crucially important to the story of season 2. His right arm may be cursed but it is an instrument that can sap away the Dark Magic's influence off of Fallen Witches. While he can sap them within a close range, but if it's a Moon Witch of Sin? He cannot do that due to the right resistance. Which is why his right arm is tied to each of the seven sins. To do so, he must have his right arm make contact first so he can absolve himself of that specific sin one at a time.
What is Naoto and Kunika's dynamic?: Kunika comes off as the most energetic and cheerful due to her personality. She may be blunt at times but she has tons of experience of making friends back in her world before coming here. As for Naoto, his personality is somewhat a polar opposite of Kunika. I'd compare his personality with a mix between Jin Kazama from the TEKKEN series and Naofumi from Shield Hero. He is cynical, calm, and cold. But at times, he does show some sympathy at rare cases.
If Season 1 was all about the journey. Is Season 2 going to be the same?: Somewhat. While Season 1 was all about introducing to the world itself as well as giving closure to primarily the ex-501st JFW members, Typhoon Witches, as well as bonding with other Witches to understand their reasons, backstory, how they got here, and their meeting with their counterpart's descendants. Of course, in the later chapter of Season 1 is where I wanted to take things seriously starting with Keiwa's problems and the things he couldn't get away from which allowed Keiwa to move forward to become who he was. Spoiler alert on Season 1, Keiwa earned his happy ending with Adolfine Galland and started a family with their daughter Edeltraud, as well as becoming the head of the Mage Pact Department for the Witch Corps in the epilogue. So in Season 2, it will still be about the journey. But, I wanted both the Kuroda to journey as they're headed to France while exploring the concept about death. What does it feel like to fear about it? What does it feel like when you face it for the first time? Why is there a reason to push yourself despite the odds stacked against you? And why do people think or fear about death, exactly? It's pretty much part of our lives and happens all the time. Persona 3, for example, tackled the themes of death. Remember, Memento mori. Remember death, remember that you will die, remember that you are mortal. It seriously gives you a spine chilling reaction when you hear those words.
Will the Witch Musume Re:BOOT series act as a Duology or a Trilogy?: That, I'm not sure. Ever since I decided to work on Season 2. I had ideas to make this a duology but this made me think about this. Re:RISE started off as a basis and a foundation to worldbuilding since I wanted to make it modernized from the original Witch Musume that I worked on back in 2017. But ever since that's finished, this gave me new ideas to explore and build further to the Re:BOOT of this project. Even if there's a trilogy, I want to explore the future of Witch Musume to explore where the world has changed. Again, that's way too early but I am considering those options if by a small chance.
Do the Moon Witches play a huge factor in Season 2 compared to Season 1?: Moon Witches were hands-off in Season 1 as I wanted to focus on Keiwa's journey while still being a bit prominent. So in Season 2, the Witches from the Moon will play a very significant role in this story. I understand that the whole Strike Witches was all about military and magic. So, I wanted to explore further where the world has begun to fully use magic as a source of energy and technology thanks to the Moon Witches' gift called the Arcanic Tools in this modern world we live in. What if the guns shoot out magic bullets, what if vehicles run entirely on magic, and what if magic is used to replace electricity? Would it advance the world? Would it help? Probably. Of course, some Moon Witches would prefer to cause trouble or become too attached to humans. I suppose they would see Earth Witches as inferior to a degree.
