I could have loved you (in another universe)

I don't have a clue where this story comes from: I just loved the relationship between Jim and Helen, and I wondered what their story would have looked like in the Mirror universe. Obviously, it's not a very fun one.

Some upsetting scenes, even if there is nothing too much graphic. It's still the Mirror universe, and Mirror Kirk, so well.. you know. Don't expect him to be nice.

The bed creaked under his thrusts, whimpers and little cries echoing through the door and making passing crewmen smirk and laugh softly.

The captain was enjoying himself.

Good.

The man had been in an awful mood, ever since that shitty mission on Tantalus.

Whoever was taking the full strengh of his bad mood would save the crew a lot of pain, and surely blood.

Captain Kirk wasn't known for his patience, and kindness.

The man was as rueful as one could be, and the shittiest bastard most of the crew ever met, Mister Spock not included.

You didn't become a Captain of the Empire with smiles, and laughs.

Well, not only.

Everybody knew the man was a Don Juan. Everybody also knew he was a brillant lover, and a caring one, to the condition you didn't cross him.

Behind the door, a new cry echoed, quickly muffled by the sound of a slap, and then a new thrust.

Dr Helen Noel was a brillant, daring and beautiful woman. She was also witty, unflinching in the face of danger, cocky and one of McCoy's best psychatrists.

To put it short, the good doctor absolutely loved her, and so it shouldn't have been a surprise to find her on the plateform when he entered the transporter room, ready to teleport on Tantalus to discover whatever Doctor Adams was hiding.

Except, of course, she had to try and remind him, of their first meeting.

Jim had been annoyed, to say the least.

He didn't mind flirting, and he certainly remembered very well that evening on Christmas, but despite what some people thought, he was a professionnal first, and talking of their fucking publically, in front of Spock of all people, was not what he expected of his crew.

His harsh, cold answer made her recoiling, and he stood on the plateform, satisfied. She kept her eyes down when they teleported, and still when they appeared on the planet, in front of an elevator. Jim stared at it thoughfully, judging his options and remembering both Spock and McCoy's very worried warnings. The fact both his officers agreed for once was what convinced him to actually investigate Tantalus, and not just kill Van Gelder. If Spock said the truth, and what he saw in his mindmeld was real, then Adams owned more power than it should ever exist.

There was no way he would let him, if only for his own safety.

Once into the lift, he turned towards the female psychatrist, making her wince. She moaned when he grabbed her hair, pushing her close and ravaging her mouth, leaving her crimson and shaking. A slap, and she hung her head, staring at the ground as he caressed her face.

-Good girl. Don't think your pretty ass will save you if you contest me again.

Helen took his hand, kissing it.

-No, captain.

He stared at her foundly, both amused and annoyed, before pushing on the button on the wall. Helen shrieked as it send them full speed down into the hospital, making him laugh as she grabbed to him. Adams was waiting for them downstairs, the gleam in his eyes telling them he knew exactly what happened.

-Captain Kirk. Welcome to Tantalus. I am Doctor Adams. We spoke already.

Dr Adams was a brillant, clever, dangerous man, one Kirk immediately felt suspicious towards, even though he also deeply enjoyed their talk. The man clearly wasn't stupid, and knew they were not fooled by his appearent worry for his sick boss. If Van Gelder said the truth despite his madness, then the other man was the reason he lost his mind.

Jim wanted to know exactly what happened, if only to be sure it wouldn't happen again, without control. The Empire was quite found of torture, but it also didn't allow everyone to experiment anything, and Adams knew it.

So he also knew, that Kirk's visit was far from cordial.

The more the captain visited the place, the more he felt all his triggers awakening, and his mind screaming at him, something very wrong was going on here.

The fact Helen was obviously charmed by their host only increased his annoyment, as she turned cockier and disrespectful. He checked his phaser once again, already planning to call Spock to order him to send reinforcement.

Whatever was going on in this damned place, he wouldn't fail for it.
