Sherlock and Joan are married and expecting their first child, but now that she is pregnant Sherlock won't let Joan work on cases so he hires a new assistant, but will she be more trouble then she's worth. Sherlock and Joan go out of contact for a few days, but when Sherlock shows up to the station looking like crap, Marcus starts to suspect something else is going on. Something beyond "being sick" as Sherlock insists, because there are bruises on his wrists and no one has seen Joan Watson in days. Whumptober 2023 Day 1 prompt "How many fingers am I holding up?"

"'I'm sorry, Sherlock. I'm sorry. You didn't deserve that.' Sherlock closes his eyes. He exhales. 'You weren't there.' 'You're sitting on my couch and you're too scared to move. Whatever you did, it didn't warrant this.' Marcus says. AKA: things go a little differently during Sherlock and Morland's argument 4x14.

Picking up off the end of season 4 Sherlock confesses something to Joan which leads to talk about their real feelings to each other. How will this change things? Find out.

Set early in S1 and written before the reveal that Irene was a painter and not an opera singer like her novel counterpart. The song Irene sings on the demo is "D'amour l'ardente flamme" from La Damnation de Faust and "America Windows" are a set of stained glass windows by the artist Marc Chagall: "This is where I am," she says, softly, "this is me..."

Joan Watson has adopted a four-month-old baby and the boy has brought joy to their home, filling the brownstone with happiness and laughter. Tonight, however, baby Tom is cranky and can't fall asleep, and Joan is a bit desperate. How will Sherlock help? Joanlock if you squint.

SEASON 6 FINALE SPOILERS. After Sherlock is forced to leave New York and return to London, Joan Watson stays in the brownstone. Every day is getting more difficult for her, until one night she collapses. What will Sherlock do to help? Sherlock was made to feel unimportant his entire life. Haunted by the ghosts that his ability shows him constantly. His father "hires" Joan Watson as his sober companion, a former surgeon, the only ordinary person in a family of gifted. He finds himself wanting to protect her from whatever agenda his father has behind this decision.

"I am withdrawing all assets until you can prove to me that the Holmes name will be a successful lineage. I do not want you to wake one day with the realization that you are the only Holmes remaining."

Instead of just taking either of the Gregson's actions lying down and given they refuse to step up, Sherlock and Joan decide to taker a different path instead of tasking the fall for either of their actions.

Renamed from "Finding Courage Within". Sherlock and Joan's friendship has moved into unfamiliar territory. What happens when one night changes everything...

Instead of taking more of Watson's judgement with all the blame for leaving to London, and when did he have to check with Watson about being a consulting detective for the NYPD? Sherlock stands his ground and addresses some things. Calling out the poor writing of Watson always being in the right and Sherlock always as in the wrong that infected Elementary.

Summary: Sherlock discovers that Joan lied to him and confronts her about it.

Sherlock is sick and Joan takes care of him until they start to realise there might be something more than friendship between them. Hopefully funny and won't kill your Joanlock feels, promise!
