Geez, that title sucks. Anywho, Pritkin and Mircea teamed up against Cassie, who does not want to be smothered by them or their forms of protection. But she meets a strange woman who she finds out is... Mircea's daughter? Takes place at the end of HtM. Sorry for any grittiness, been awhile since I read the books.
