Their last battled loomed. The fate of the world hung in the balance. It was time to rise, and defeat the final threat once and for all.

The Aetherials had threatened them for too long. It was time to destroy them once and for all.

It was the absolute worst news he could have ever received. The Ch'thonians were back.

He had a quest. He knew that the human race was not enough to defeat what was to come, so he enlisted the help of the gods.

There was so much blood all around him. He felt like he was going insane. The darkness at the edge of his vision was closing in. And then a hand reached out and touched him.

The soldiers rallied behind him. He, Ares the Dervish, led the charge to free Malmouth from the curse the Aetherials were.

The two reunited as though they were long-lost lovers, which, I am fairly certain they are.

"I am Ares. I am a Dervish. You will not stand against me."

The five times he saw the Emissary, and the one time he talked to him.

The legends spread throughout the disparate city states that formed out of Cairn's corpse, of a tavern. A tavern where all Taken were welcomed, and some said that the barkeep there even claimed to have answers to the deepest questions a Taken wishes to know. You, a sensible Taken, did not believe in the Tavern. 'Til you crossed the Veil.

An action story set roughly in the Grim Dawn Setting. Starting slow, it will become an action-packed exodus to the very edge of cairn.

This is an abandoned project, left up to display for what it is/was. I made the unfortunate judgment to have creative license and dive ahead with geographical and cultural information not present in the game (during its alpha stages) and have inadvertently veered too far from canon as the game developed. In time I may adapt the characters to an original fiction, but no promises.
