He was out, away from the cold dark water and away from the unknown. Time to fix his life, be better, and move on. But grudges won't let him move on. He ruined everything for the beast, so he's going to ruin everything for him. (In which Wirt is stuck in the unknown and becomes the new beast, but a helpful brother goes on a mission to bring him back.)

Lost in the woods, a pair of twins find themselves navigating an eerie maze of shadows when they encounter a woodsman who offers to help guide them home. For Wirt, the burden of being a lantern bearer, tasked with preserving a fragile flame, has left little room for the complexities of life. That is, until a figure from his past reappears to upset the fragile balance of his world.
