Woman of Many Faces
Rainbow Haired Girl
Summary: Everleigh Vincen is a Shield with some very special talents. But when a hammer falls from the sky in New Mexico things she soon finds out aren't what they seem to be. A Loki/OC fic. It's a very slow-burn fic.
Authoress Note: I know I shouldn't be writing another fic, but I wanted to write this story badly. I've been meaning to write a Loki fic for quite some time. Ever since watching Loki, it has made that urge to write a Loki fic even more daunting for me wanting to do it. Now here it is finally being written down. I hope that I don't fail in writing it because Loki is probably one of my favorite characters and he kind of deserves some love. I hope you all think the same way too. He's had it rough during the MCU and I want to try to make it a little bit more bearable for him. I hope that you guys enjoy this story. Without further ado the Prologue to Woman of Many Faces. Enjoy.
Prologue
A young woman with blonde hair and bright blue eyes walked next to a man heading to their boss's office. "What does Fury want with us?" She asked softly as she looked over at her blond-haired companion.
The man tapped his hearing aids to make sure that he had heard her right before looking at her. "Eveleigh, we won't know what he wants until we go in and see him."
"You don't think it is about that call we got a few days ago?" She questioned as they got into the elevator and pressed the button to the floor that they needed to go to. Her hands went to her sides fidgeting slightly in nervousness. She hated it when she didn't know what was going on.
The man shook his head lightly. "Could be. He could need us to meet up with Agent Coulson to help out with the issue that is at hand down there."
Everleigh let out a soft breath bouncing lightly on the balls of the heels she wore. She had to admit that this was something that she wasn't fully prepared for.
"Everleigh you've been in the field before. You're ready to do this too." The man said, grasping onto her pale shoulder knowing that she was rather worried about what was to come from this small meeting with Fury.
"You're right Clint." She said softly, taking a deep breath.
"Just don't do what you normally do when you're nervous," Clint said in a teasing tone trying to calm her down some. The last thing that he wanted was for her to make the same mistake as she had done in the past.
Everleigh's face began to go red. She knew exactly what Clint was talking about, and it was embarrassing that he was still holding it over her head even though she had been working with him and Natasha for a while now. She knew that there was no way that she was going to be able to live that down. No matter how hard she tried to keep herself from making that mistake again.
The elevator dinged and the two of them got off heading right to Fury's office.
Clint knocked on the door before opening it.
"Barton, Vincen. So nice of the two of you to finally come." Nick said, looking at the two of them eyeing them with his single eye.
"You wanted to see us Director Fury?" Clint questioned as he looked at the director not taking the tone as anything major or if they were in trouble. He didn't think that they were in trouble for being just a minute late to his office.
"I need you and Agent Vincen to go down to New Mexico to where Agent Coulson is," Nick said as he got up to his feet. "We're making sure that all of our bases are covered down there. We're not sure where this item came from, but we're certainly going to find out where it came from and get to the bottom of this."
"Yes, sir," Everleigh said with a firm nod of her head knowing that Fury wanted to have the answers of what was going on down there. Was it indeed aliens once again, like he had told them prior when they first started writing down things in new files? Or was it something much much more different? Everleigh knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before they got their answer. They just needed to get down there and do their job.
"And Agent Vincen," Fury said, breaking Everleigh from her thoughts, and causing the young woman to look at him.
"Yes, Director Fury?" She questioned tilting her head to the side a little wondering what he was thinking at that very moment.
"We very well may need your talent down there to find out where it came from," Fury said firmly looking at the young woman.
"Sir?" She questioned as her blonde brows pinched together in worry. Would they need the talent that she kept on the down-low for so long? What kind of danger were they headed into?
"We're going to need you to use your talent to find where that item came from and find out if it is dangerous."
Everleigh took a sharp breath knowing that was probably not going to be easy on any one of them that were going to be down in the area. She tried not to use any of her talents that were too odd to be seen by others, but now Fury was ordering her to use them, and that made her nervous. "Yes, sir." She said softly knowing that she had sealed her fate. She now had no choice in the matter.

This is the end of the Prologue of Woman of Many Faces. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. I know that this is longer than my other story prologues which is probably a good thing. I hope that you guys enjoyed it. I kind of worked hard on this first chapter. Leave a review, they keep me going. So I hope that you guys enjoy the character of Everleigh of what I have of her so far. And I'm having a wee bit of fun with adding in some elements that I liked from the comics like Clint having hearing aids. But anyways reviews help me keep going. Let me know if there is anything that you would like to see in future chapters. I hope to have the next part out as soon as possible. Until next time.
