Prompts: rabbit, comfort, burial
This could be canonical or it could be modern AU. Depends on if you think there are rabbits on Yavin IV
Some of Rey's favorite moments happened when they simply cuddled and talked, telling each other stories.
"I had a pet rabbit when I was about five," Poe told her on one of these nights. "Sprocket. He died suddenly. No known reason. It was the first time something I loved had died. My mom gave him an official burial, a real funeral. It was such a comfort. She was amazing."
"I know," Rey responded. When Poe looked at her questioningly, she said, "Your dad told me you take after, so of course she was amazing."
Poe smiled and held her closer.
A/N: This may be my last drabble for a while. I got back into writing them so I could have something to post while I worked on my latest long-fic. Well... it's done!
I'll start posting here on Thursday, May 9. It's a long one, my longest fanfic yet! It's canonical Star Wars Damerey, but there's a major twist, as I start out Poe and Rey meeting very differently than it happened in the movies. If you have read my series story Planet X, the idea came from one of Rey's many dreams in that story. Unwittingly, I ended up re-writing the sequel trilogy! It's a very solid mix of Star Wars lore, simple romance, and there is a bit of smut here and there (I will of course give warnings on those chapters).
