Chapter 32: Battle for the Final Holy Stone

Koushiro's Office

The Digidestined came out of the gate, looking disappointed.

Koushiro: "So, what happened?"

Hikari: "We… we aren't against BlackWarGreymon anymore."

Takeru: "Hikari and I… we aren't strong enough to handle this threat anymore."

Koushiro: "What..? You have to be kidding right?"

Hikari: "No… Archnemon and Mummymon they… they did something to BlackWarGreymon…"

Takeru: "We're up against an Omegamon now."

Koushiro: "I see."

Iori: "But, we can still win, right?"

Daisuke: "Yeah, Taichi-Senpai and Yamato also have an Omegamon, right?"

Koushiro: "Yes, but…"

Ken: "You're worried… about Taichi's mental state… aren't you?"

Koushiro: "Yeah… but knowing Taichi… he will be able to handle this."

Koushiro glanced at Takeru and Hikari, who both nodded before walking away with their phones.

Miyako: "Then what are we waiting for? Let's do this!"

Koushiro: "Calm down, we still have some time. The second area Gennai marked for us is unlikely to be attacked for about half an hour. It's the furtherest away from the first stone they destroyed."

Light: "Yes, Onii-Chan. See you soon."

Hope: "Alright, you sure we aren't interrupting anything?… Alright see you soon."

Hikari: "Onii-Chan said he will be over in a bit."

Takeru: "Same here."

Koushiro: "Alright, why don't all of you take a rest first? We're going to need as much firepower as possible for this. Oh, Hikari, Takeru can I have your Digivices? I think I could get us some more information on our enemies."

Takeru: "Sure, Koushiro."

Takeru and Hikari placed their Digivices next to Koushiro's tablet and went to relax on the couch with the other Digidestined and their partners, all waiting for Taichi and Yamato's arrival.

Taichi sat up on his bed, with Agumon beside him.

Taichi: "Alright, let's go Agumon."

Agumon: "Got it, Taichi!"

Taichi looked at the calender on the wall.

"Sunday, 22 December… Christmas is coming soon. Wow, just two more days till they are up on the big stage… hopefully we can have a peaceful Christmas."

Taichi got up and went to put on his shoes, picking up Agumon and starting on a light jog to Koushiro's office.

Yamato: "Sorry guys, I gotta go."

Band member 1: "Alright, but honestly Yamato, what is it that keeps making you randomly leave like this?"

Yamato: "That is something I cannot tell you."

Band member 2: "Can't tell us now, or just can't tell us?"

Yamato: "I… I don't know. It's a very special case."

Band member 3: "Well, whatever it is, just make sure you are ready for our gig. Only two days left."

Yamato: "Yeah, yeah I know."

Yamato quickly ran out of the studio, with his bag containing Gabumon.

Taichi arrived first, walking into the office casually.

Taichi: "Hey."

Koushiro: "Ah, good to see you here so quickly, Taichi."

Taichi: "Well, I'm not going to ignore any problem in the Digital World."

Koushiro: "Anyways, let's just wait for Yamato to come over then we ca-"

Yamato came into the room, setting his bag down, and letting Gabumon come out of it.

Koushiro: "Perfect timing. Anyways, now we need a plan."

Takeru: "I think we can just use the same plan that we did."

Hikari: "Yeah, we can handle the same enemies, this time though we will have Onii-Chan and Yamato to help us."

Taichi: "That works, so who exactly is our enemy?"

Koushiro: "Right, so Archnemon and Mummymon, they did something to BlackWarGreymon, now he is a black Omegamon. Based on the data I got from Takeru and Hikari's Digivices, it seems to be a special Omegamon called Omegamon Zwart Defeat."

Yamato: "Another Omegamon, huh?"

Taichi: "Nothing we can't handle, right Yamato?"

Yamato smirked and crossed his arms.

Yamato: "Don't go and get all confident on me now. The fight hasn't begun yet."

Taichi smirked back before turning to Koushiro.

Taichi: "So, how long do we have?"

Koushiro: "Based on their speed… I would say about ten minutes?"

Taichi: "It's already quite late… will everyone be ok with this?"

Taichi turned to the newer Digidestined as he asked the question, knowing that the question only applied to them anyway.

Daisuke: "Fine with me, my parents are out with Jun anyway."

Miyako: "My parents are fine as long as I'm back before dinner."

Iori: "I don't have kendo practice today, so It'll be fine for me as well."

Ken: "My parents know about the Digital World, so they are used to me coming back late."

Yamato: "Alright then, guess we are all in agreement."

Taichi: "Alright, let's do this!"

Koushiro opened a gate and the Digidestined entered it, arriving in front of the last Holy Stone.

The last Holy Stone was floating over a small lake.

Taichi: "So, this is a Holy Stone."

Yamato: "It… It's just a rock with a Holy Ring…"

Taichi: "Well, whatever, we just have to protect this, right?"

Daisuke: "Right."

Just then, a large figure landed, with the sound of a vehicle behind it.

The Digidestined saw Omegamon Zwart towering over them, with Archnemon and Mummymon behind him.

Archnemon: "You just had to be here for the last one…"

Taichi: "Sorry, but you aren't destroying this one."

Taichi and Yamato brought their Digivices in front of them.

Taichi: "Let's go, Agumon!"

Agumon: "Right with you, Taichi!"

Yamato: "Gabumon!"

Gabumon: "Got it, Yamato!"

"Agumon Evolution! Greymon!"

"Gabumon Evolution! Garurumon!"

"Greymon Super-Evolution! MetalGreymon!"

"Garurumon Super-Evolution! WereGarurumon!"

"MetalGreymon Mega-Evolution! WarGreymon!"

"WereGarurumon Mega-Evolution! MetalGarurumon!"

Taichi: "We're not-"

Yamato: "Done yet!"

Taichi and Yamato clenched their Digivices, causing them to glow brilliantly. WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon fused together, forming Omegamon.

Omegamon stood still, eyeing down Omegamon Zwart. Omegamon Zwart clutched his head, before roaring loudly and charging forward, his sword unsheathing. Omegamon charged forward as well, his own sword unsheathing as well. They clashed together, trying to push the other back.

Takeru: "You ready, Hika?"

Hikari: "Of course, Keru."

Takeru/Hikari: "Patamon/Tailmon!"

Patamon: "Yeah!"

Tailmon: "Right with you, Hikari!"

Takeru and Hikari brought their Digivices in front of them, both of them being enveloped in a yellow and pink light respectively.

"Patamon Warp-Evolution! Seraphimon!"

"Tailmon Warp-Evolution! Ophanimon!"

Seraphimon and Ophanimon charged forward towards Omegamon Zwart, slamming into his sides, causing him to roar in pain.

Daisuke: "Maybe we can do a two on two this time."

Ken: "Right."

"Veemon Evolution! ExVeemon!"

"Wormmon Evolution! Stingmon!"

"ExVeemon! Stingmon! Jogress Evolution! Paildramon!"

Paildramon brought forth his blasters, shooting at both Archnemon and Mummymon, both of whom had yet to transform to their Digimon forms. Both of them jumped out of the way and began to transform.

Miyako: "Sounds good to me. You alright with that, Iori?"

Iori: "Of course."

"Hawkmon Evolution! Aquilamon!"

"Armadimon Evolution! Ankylomon!"

"Aquilamon! Ankylomon! Jogress Evolution! Jazarichmon!"

Jazarichmon rushed towards Archnemon and Mummymon spinning rapidly.

Jazarichmon: "Messer Spiral!"

Archnemon and Mummymon both jumped back, both in their Digimon forms. They barely managed to dodge the attack.

Omegamon Zwart spun, throwing Omegamon, Seraphimon and Ophanimon away from him. He raised his cannon arm and aimed it at Omegamon. His cannon opened and he fired.

Omegamon turned such that his brave shield could block the attack. Seraphimon and Ophanimon rushed from behind charging up their attacks.

Seraphimon: "Seven Heavens!"

Ophanimon: "Sefirot Crystal!"

The attacks engulfed Omegamon Zwart, creating a large cloud of smoke.

Omegamon Zwart flew up out of the smoke, trembling in rage.

Taichi: "Yamato!"

Yamato: "Got it!"

The armor on Omegamon's MetalGarurumon arm opened, and a salvo of missiles shot out, aimed towards Omegamon Zwart. Omegamon Zwart roared and swung his sword, causing all the missiles to explode. Omegamon charged forward towards the smoke cloud, his cannon arm outstretched.

Omegamon Zwart fired blasts from his cannon just as Omegamon fired his. The shots collided midair, lighting up the sky.

Seraphimon and Ophanimon rushed forward.

Ophanimon: "Eden's Javelin!"

Seraphimon slammed his fist into Omegamon Zwart's side as Ophanimon's javelin pierced Omegamon Zwart's shoulder (the cannon arm). Omegamon Zwart roared in pain, swinging his sword wildly, trying to hit Seraphimon and Ophanimon.

Seraphimon and Ophanimon backed off just as Omegamon charged in, with his sword in front of him. His sword clashed with Omegamon Zwart's sword.

Seraphimon brought a hand up, as Ophanimon charged forward again.

Seraphimon: "Ascension Hallow!"

Omegamon Zwart got hit by the lightning, as his eyes locked onto Ophanimon. He brought up his cannon arm aiming a blast at Ophanimon.

Omegamon quickly pushed down with his sword, ending their sword clash. Omegamon quickly spun, using his Garuru cannon to hit Omegamon Zwart's cannon arm. Omegamon Zwart's blast ended up travelling to the ground, almost hitting the fighters on the ground.

Archnemon: "Blast it! Watch where you're aiming that!"

Jazarichmon slammed into Archnemon, as Paildramon thrust his arms forward.

Paildramon: "Esgrima!"

Paildramon grabbed Archnemon and threw her at Mummymon, who was charging a blast in obelisk. Mummymon quickly stopped charging and caught Archnemon.

Omegamon and Omegamon Zwart clashed swords once again, with Seraphimon and Ophanimon charging their attacks. Omegamon Zwart pushed Omegamon away and fired his cannon arm rapidly at Omegamon.

Omegamon quickly spun around, using his cape to block the attacks. Omegamon charged a blast behind his cape, as well as the armor on his MetalGarurumon arm opening, allowing more missiles to fly out. Omegamon Zwart slashed his sword, destroying the missiles. His eyes widened as he suddenly saw a blue blast about to hit him.

Omegamon Zwart quickly slashed upwards, cutting through the blast, causing a cloud of blue smoke to engulf him. As the smoke cleared, it revealed Omegamon Zwart with his sword frozen.

Seraphimon and Ophanimon shot their attacks which they had been charging. Takeru and Hikari grit their teeth and looked tired as the attack went off.

Seraphimon: "Seven Heavens!"

Ophanimon: "Sefirot Crystal!"

The blasts flew towards Omegamon Zwart, however Omegamon Zwart just barely dodged at the last second. The two attacks collided and caused a large cloud of smoke to appear. The Digidestined couldn't tell what happened and observed the cloud cautiously.

Suddenly, Omegamon Zwart rushed out of the smoke with his sword in front of him. Omegamon quickly brought his sword up and blocked the attack. However, Omegamon Zwart's sword broke on contact, surprising Omegamon. Omegamon Zwart quickly used his momentum to push his cannon arm into Omegamon's chest, immediately firing.

Omegamon flew back from the blast and clutched his chest.

Taichi: "You ok, Omegamon?"

Yamato: "That was quite bad…"

Omegamon: "I'll be fine."

Seraphimon and Ophanimon flew over to Omegamon, hovering beside him. Takeru and Hikari brought their Digivices in front of them, both panting hard.

Hope: "Hikari and I… are almost… at our limit…"

Light: "Yeah… using this… power is so… exhausting…"

Courage: "We have been fighting pretty hard. You think you can hold out for a little more?"

Light: "We'll…"

Hope: "try…"

Friendship: "Just don't push yourselves."

Archnemon and Mummymon were struggling to handle Paildramon and Jazarichmon. Both of them lowered their voices to whispers.

Mummymon: "It's going to be hard to win these two. Omegamon Zwart also isn't doing too well."

Archnemon: "Omegamon Zwart just needs to destroy that Holy Stone."

Mummymon: "Find an opening, I'll distract them."

Mummymon brought obelisk up and rapidly fired at Paildramon and Jazarichmon. Archnemon quickly went into the trees and started to release her Acid Mist, forming a large area around Paildramon and Jazarichmon. Archnemon's voice came from within the mist.

Archnemon: "Omegamon Zwart! Just destroy the Holy Stone!"

Daisuke: "Dammit, we can't do anything with our partners inside!"

Ken: "Calm down, we can still win."

Omegamon Zwart roared and fired rapidly at the trio in the sky. Omegamon quickly went in front with his shield, blocking the attacks. Seraphimon and Ophanimon came out from behind Omegamon, firing their attacks.

Seraphimon: "Seven Heavens!"

Ophanimon: "Sefirot Crystal!"

The attacks hit Omegamon Zwart engulfing him in smoke yet again. Suddenly, a blast flew out from the smoke, towards the Holy Stone.

Seraphimon: "No!"

Seraphimon quickly rushed towards the Holy Stone, blocking the attack using his body. As the smoke cleared from the attack, Takeru was holding Patamon tightly. They were both in a yellow shield and on the ground.

Ophanimon: "Patamon!"

Ophanimon was angry and charged towards Omegamon Zwart. Omegamon Zwart fired his cannon rapidly, causing Ophanimon to bring her shield in front of her to block the attack. Omegamon Zwart roared and charged towards Ophanimon, still firing his cannon.

As Omegamon Zwart reached Ophanimon, he used his BlackWarGreymon arm to grab the shield and push it down, allowing him to fire point blank at Ophanimon. Ophanimon was sent down and landed next to Takeru and Patamon, reverting to Plotmon. Hikari clutched her tightly, both of them within a small pink shield.

Taichi: "Dammit!"

Yamato: "Calm down. We still have the advantage here."

Omegamon Zwart rushed towards Omegamon, firing his cannon. Omegamon brought his brave shield forward. Omegamon parried one of the blasts, as his arms started glowing, his left arm changing shape and glowing red, while his right arm glowed blue. Omegamon brought both his arms forward and fired rapidly. Omegamon Zwart charged through the blasts and there was a cloud of smoke in front of Omegamon.

Suddenly, Omegamon Zwart came out of the smoke, with a blast charged in his cannon arm. Omegamon rolled to the side as both his arms changed shape, his left arm orange, and his right arm golden. Omegamon slashed upwards, cutting through the cannon.

The front part of the cannon came off and the blast exploded causing a cloud of smoke to form. Omegamon quickly dashed up, flying out of the smoke, trying to find Omegamon Zwart. Suddenly, Omegamon saw a flash flying out of the smoke towards the Holy Stone.

Taichi: "He's going for the Holy Stone!"

"Digimental Up!"

Pegasmon and Nefertimon quickly flew towards Omegamon Zwart, with their partners on them.

Pegasmon/Nefertimon: "Sanctuary Bind!"

Pegasmon and Nefertimon flew around Omegamon Zwart's head, binding his neck. Takeru and Hikari were on their partners, both barely keeping their eyes open and panting hard.

Takeru: "We won't… give up…"

Hikari: "not when… everyone is counting on us…"

Omegamon was flying towards Omegamon Zwart.

Yamato: "We need to help them, they're running on fumes right now."

"If we use the cannon arms... we risk breaking the Holy Stones..."

Taichi: "I know, please Omegamon!"

"We need to get closer..."

Omegamon nodded and increased speed.

Omegamon Zwart looked angry, he grabbed the binding on him and swung Pegasmon and Nefertmon forward. They both were sent flying towards the ground, with Takeru and Hikari just able to activate their shields just before they hit the ground.

Pegasmon and Nefertimon both lay on the ground, with Takeru and Hikari both about to lose consciousness.

Omegamon Zwart quickly rushed towards the Holy Stone and slammed his cannon arm into it, firing one last time, breaking the Holy Stone and his cannon arm.

The Digidestined stared in silence, shocked at what had happened.

Taichi: "No…"

Daisuke: "We…"

Ken: "Failed..?"

Miyako: "No way…"

Iori: "What… What happens now..?"

Archnemon and Mummymon stared at Omegamon Zwart with satisfaction.

The skies turned dark, leaving a gloomy atmosphere.

Archnemon: "Perfect! Well done Omegamon Zwart! Now the Digital World will be in ruins!"

Omegamon Zwart looked at the Digidestined and roared in agony. He seemed conflicted.

Mummymon: "And now, our plans can finally come to fruition!"

Suddenly, light came out from the clouds, and a loud roar was heard. The clouds parted and a large Digimon flew down.

Digimon: "That is enough. You have done well, Digidestined."

Omegamon Zwart cried out in agony and charged towards the large Digimon. However, before he even came close, he was sent back landing on the ground, writhing in pain, unable to move.

Qinglongmon: "I am Qinglongmon. I protect the Eastern area of the Digital World and hold the spheres of Light and Hope. This is your punishment, for hurting my bearers of Light and Hope."

Omegamon Zwart couldn't move, surprising all around.

Daisuke: "No way…"

Miyako: "He didn't even touch him…"

A light emitted from Qinglongmon, enveloping all the Digidestined and their partners.

Taichi: "This light… it feels like the Holy Digimon…"

Yamato: "No… it's even stronger…"

Qinglongmon: "Thank you, Digidestined. You have all done well."

Takeru and Hikari stood up, feeling revitalised.

Takeru: "Do you… feel it too, Hika?"

Hikari: "I… yes… I feel it too. A feeling of… connection to Qinglongmon…"

Qinglongmon: "That is natural, considering you are my chosen bearers of Light and Hope."

Qinglongmon glanced at Archnemon and Mummymon.

Qinglongmon: "You used the dark towers in an attempt to seal our power. Yet, you failed. You underestimated the powers of the Four Holy Beasts, and our bearers."

Ken: "The dark towers… then I…"

Archnemon: "Well, looks like you finally find out. That's it, we used you to build the dark towers for this purpose. However, you just had to join the Digidestined and help destroy the dark towers instead."

Mummymon pointed at Omegamon Zwart.

Mummymon: "That too, is the reason for his existence. His only purpose was to help us destroy the Digital World. Unfortunately, BlackWarGreymon was a flawed dark tower Digimon."

Omegamon Zwart slowly got up and limped over to the Digidestined. He glared at Archnemon and Mummymon.

Qinglongmon: "His purpose, and existence for living is for him to decide. Gennai shall help you on this path, Omegamon Zwart Defeat."

A light enveloped around Omegamon Zwart and he disappeared.

Taichi: "What just…"

Qinglongmon: "Fear not, Digidestined. He has merely been transported to Gennai. From now on, he has his own battle to fight."

Archnemon: "What!?"

Qinglongmon: "Leave now. You have failed."

Archnemon and Mummymon were taken aback, before quickly regaining their composure, and running to their vehicle. They drove off, leaving the Digidestined confused and overwhelmed. The Digimon reverted and stood beside their partners.

Qinglongmon: "Now then, I believe I have yet to properly introduce myself. Digidestined, I am Qinglongmon. One of the Four Holy Beasts that exist to maintain the balance in the Digital World. I protect the East."

Qinglongmon glanced at Takeru and Hikari.

Qinglongmon: "Gennai has told me a lot about you two. Both of you have surpassed many of our expectations for our bearers. Hikari Yagami, I apologise for what you have gone through. We were not expecting the dark ocean to make a move so soon. Takeru Takaishi, I thank you for being able to protect the bearer of Light. I am also thankful that you two are getting closer in these times."

Takeru and Hikari had slight panic on their faces, but mostly managed to stay composed.

Takeru: "Thank you, Qinglongmon. I was just doing my best for Hikari."

Hikari: "It's not your fault, Qinglongmon."

Qinglongmon: "Mmm regardless, the dark ocean was a factor we had not considered in our plans. I'm sure you have some questions? I will answer to the best of my abilities."

Ken: "I have one. Was I… was I a Digidestined by chance..?"

Qinglongmon: "I see you are still burdened by the past. No, you are not a Digidestined by chance. You were chosen as a Digidestined to help the first generation of Digidestined in their final battle. However, things did not go according to plan. Regardless, rest assured that you were chosen as a Digidestined, not your brother."

Ken: "I see… thank you."

Qinglongmon: "We wish that Digimon and Humans can live alongside one another in the future. Thus, we are currently working towards having more Digidestined. There are already several in your world, using the standard Digivice, however, they are definitely not as strong as our bearers."

Daisuke: "Standard Digivice… then why do we have these special D3s?"

Qinglongmon: "The answer is simple, with the dark towers preventing conventional evolution, we decided it was best to rely on the power of a lost ancient evolution."

Miyako: "Then, that is Armor Evolution?"

Qinglongmon: "Correct, however, to allow the Digivices to utilise it, we had to make the special D3, a model from much more ancient times, and thus a much weaker model. It is a model unable to provide spontaneous evolution to the ultimate level and above."

Takeru: "But Hikari and I can still evolve Patamon and Tailmon to their Mega forms."

Qinglongmon: "Indeed. This is because of your crests. As for why you two have D3s, it is mostly because of you, Takeru."

Takeru: "Me?"

Qinglongmon: "Originally, our plan to stop the Digimon Kaiser was with the three Digidestined with Armor Evolution. However, with him capturing the bearer of Courage, we decided to take less risks in our plans."

Qinglongmon looked straight at Takeru and Patamon.

Qinglongmon: "On your first Adventure, as you call it, you two were able to undergo an unexpected Evolution."

Takeru: "Pegasmon…"

Qinglongmon: "Correct. That Evolution proved to us that you were able to utilise Armor Evolution to its fullest potential. Of course, the bearer of Light would have the same potential. Thus, we converted your Digivices into D3s for Armor Evolution."

Hikari: "But then, how are we still able to evolve Tailmon and Patamon to Mega?"

Qinglongmon: "The crest of Light and Hope were the key to allowing you to continue your spontaneous Evolution. However, it has seemed to affect the D3s, as you have clearly noticed. However, fret not. It is unlikely that you will lose your Digivice."

Takeru and Hikari looked to each other and turned to Qinglongmon.

Takeru: "Then, how about the crest of Faith?"

Qinglongmon: "An unexpected occurance. The crest of Faith was meant to be produced by you two at a much later time. The crest of Faith has been produced by you two prematurely. That is why you two feel so exhausted after using it. It was meant to be our final weapon against the dark ocean."

Iori: "What about Jogress?"

Qinglongmon: "An unexpected power that you, the second generation of Digidestined, have succeeded in utilising."

Miyako: "Huh?"

Qinglongmon: "Jogress Evolution, is a natural evolution that only the most compatible of Digimon can undergo. Being able to achieve that and make it a spontaneous evolution… we truly underestimated the bonds of you four. As for the bearers of Light and Hope, you two have already seen that power. It is up to you to find out how to achieve it."

The Digidestined were all processing the information, with Taichi letting a breath of relief.

Taichi: "Man, if only Koushiro were here. I can barely type fast enough to bring back all this information to him."

Qinglongmon: "Are there any more questions?"

Yamato: "What did the Holy Stones do?"

Qinglongmon: "The Holy Stones, they protect the balance and bring harmony to the Digital World. That is the duty of the Holy Stones."

Daisuke: "But we failed to protect them…"

Qinglongmon: "Did you? I don't remember Gennai's message saying the stones you protected were real."

Taichi: "Are you serious?"

Qinglongmon: "Did you think we would leave such important areas unprotected? Your enemy wished to destroy the Holy Stones to bring ruin the Digital World. We merely wished to see how strong the enemy was. That is why the 'Holy Stones' you were protecting felt like they were not doing anything."

Hikari: "Then the real Holy Stones are safe?"

Qinglongmon: "Of course. Now, if there are no more questions, I shall take my leave. I must continue to protect the Eastern area of the Digital World. Bearers of Light and Hope, thank you for the trials you have endured against the dark ocean. I Hope you two get closer and eventually bring a Light to the two worlds."

Taichi and Yamato almost choked on hearing the last words, with Ken processing it and his eyes widening. Daisuke, Miyako and Iori simply looked on confused. Takeru and Hikari blushed heavily and coughed.

As Qinglongmon flew off, Miyako saw Takeru and Hikari's faces.

Daisuke: "Is it just me, or did he mess up his sentence at the end?"

Iori: "Yeah, that was really odd."

Miyako: "Why are you two blushing?"

Takeru: "N-No reason."

Hikari: "D-Don't worry about i-it."

Taichi: "Ahem Anyways, I believe we should go back and report to Koushiro now."

Yamato: "Yeah, let's do that."

Courage: "We succeeded, I think?"

Knowledge: "What do you mean, you think?"

Friendship: "It's a long story… we'll explain when we're back."

Knowledge: "Alright."

Koushiro's office

Taichi: "Well, we didn't manage to protect the Holy Stones, but technically we did? I more or less wrote what Qinglongmon said to us, here."

Taichi placed his phone down on Koushiro's table, with Koushiro picking it up.

Koushiro: "Qinglongmon?"

Taichi: "Some Holy Beast or something."

Yamato: "One of the Four Holy Beasts, the one that protects the East."

Taichi: "Yeah, that."

Koushiro: "Hmm… so they were fake… and that's why Armor Evolution is a thing. Oh, there's even Jogress…"

Yamato: "Well, Koushiro's gonna be quite busy with this, so we should probably get going. Oh right, Daisuke, Miyako, Iori, take this."

Yamato passed them three tickets.

Daisuke: "What's this?"

Yamato: "Free tickets to attend my gig in two days. I would have given it earlier, but I've been busy."

Miyako: "Cool! Can't wait for it!"

Yamato: "Better not miss it, two songs will make their first appearance there."

Iori: "Mmm, Takeru and Hikari's performance, right?"

Yamato: "Yep. It's going to be great."

Taichi: "Yamato, can you bring Hikari home for me? I'm gonna stay here and answer any questions Koushiro might have."

Ken: "Umm, I can send you all home easily, if you want? As long as there is a computer that's on."

Taichi: "That would be nice. Right, I left my computer on so we could do this. I completely forgot after that whole battle."

Ken: "Alright."

Ken opened a gate and each Digidestined started to go home individually, leaving just Ken, Taichi and Koushiro.

Ken: "I'll just wait until both of you are ready to leave."

Taichi: "It's fine really, I can walk home."

Ken: "I'm ok, my parents know I'll be home late. And besides, it's the least I could do after… all that I've done."

Taichi: "Stop blaming yourself for what happened. It's not your fault."

Ken: "But-"

Taichi: "No buts, if you really want to make it up to me, stop blaming yourself."

Ken silently sat down.

Ken: "I'll still wait."

Taichi: "Sigh let's try to wrap this up quickly, Koushiro. Here's my Digivice if you want to document Qinglongmon."

Koushiro: "Alright."

Phew, that was quite the lore dump, huh? Well, this story is in total about 3/4 finished, hope y'all having fun reading. :D

Next chapter will be uploaded soon. When I post it, I'm gonna change the title of this fanfic to 'Digimon Adventures 02: Light and Hope'. I'm doing cos it feels like it fits better considering how much focus there is on Hikari and Takeru :P
