Ulrich362: Another of our older fics getting a hopeful revival right Bopdog?
bopdog111: This is one of our earliest ZEXAL fics which was 3 years ago Jesus.
Ulrich362: We've gotten a fair bit of work done since then haven't we? Though we never finished anything related to Zexal.
bopdog111: But since we are doing good with SOUL in Barian right now, I figure I should take a chance at getting back on this here.
Ulrich362: Makes sense to me.
bopdog111: And this also had Pendulum, and Link originally. Would it still have that or will it be different?
Ulrich362: I'd say no just for simplicity but it's your call Bopdog. Enjoy the chapter.

Flashback: 2 Years Ago...
"Grandma, I'm home!" a young boy by the age of 6 called when he entered the house. He is named Timothy Winx though is called Timmy or Tim having short blonde hair with the whitest blue eyes almost like clear snow that people notice when they meet him, and also has on a blue sleeveless shirt, with a black light jacket, and small black jeans with a pair of sneakers on walking in the house.
He had just got a booster pack, and went back to his Grandmother who he lived with. He never knew who his parents were but his Grandmother told him that their not fit to raise him since all they seem to care about was money, money, money, reputation, reputation, reputation. It had been a long battle in court but ultimately she won the battle for custody of her Grandson when he was only 3, and never seen his parents again while his Grandmother raised him to be the man he is.
He also learned a card game he likes playing called Duel Monsters (It's real name is Yu-Gi-Oh! but he calls it that cause it sounds cooler) which he can't stop thinking about, and soon it became a favorite hobby of his, and his Grandmother supports his decisions on it. Despite being young he was able to compete in several small tournaments where he would get beat but wouldn't let it take him down. When the games evolves more, he kept delving into it more, and treats the cards as his family where he has gotten three strong dragons of a different method that he likes as his partners in dueling where he sometimes thinks their real spirits.
But now we're here where he got home after buying a booster pack announcing to his Grandmother he's back home.
"Welcome home Timmy." an older female voice said.
He walked arriving in the kitchen where a older woman having gray hair is. This was Susan, a young woman who recently retired from her job, and is settling it with her Grandson while keeping him away from his rich, and snobby parents. She also has a blue shirt, and white pants on with a small tube in her nose to help her breath with a tank nearby while she sat down.
He gave a soft hug to her. She hugged him back gently only to chuckle. "Is that what I think it is in your hands?"
"Yeah." her grandson giggled softly showing the booster pack, "It's one of the newest in stores!"
"Well, don't keep an old lady in suspense. What did you get?" she asked before coughing slightly.
After making sure she's alright he opened the pack placing the cards on the table.
Some are generic but some are rare but one caught his eye which is a new rare card which is the Fusion Monster, Five-Headed Dragon.
"Oh my, that looks strong." his grandmother admitted.
"Yeah... It's one of the best cards in the game." Timmy smiled hugely.
From what she can understand when Timmy mentions the game every time it's the numbers that shows the strength or defense of the card, and certain abilities that makes them stronger helps players, or slows their opponents.
"And otherside from 5000 points, it also can only be destroyed in battle by a Light Monster." Timmy included with a wide smile pointing at the card while telling this to Susan.
Susan smiled before pausing. "Timmy, do you want to play with me again?"
"Are you sure you can Grandma? Has your health been bothering you?" Timmy asked her hearing that.
Lately Susan had gotten some health issues, and Timmy had been so worried like an overprotective worrywart around her, always snapping to attention when something happens where it takes a lot of convincing on her part to calm him down cause he is like a worry bomb waiting to be set off.
"I'm fine." she smiled. "Certainly healthy enough to play a game with my grandson. I enjoy doing something you love so much with you even if I'm not that good."
That was one of the things Susan is about. She is always willing to do anything with Timmy no matter what that may be. Despite her being new to Duel Monsters, she's willing to be play against Timmy for him to practice, and grow as a Duelist.
Timmy smiled nodding while clearing the table for them. The duel that followed went through a bit well with Timmy having over 3700 out of 8000 while he had just landed the last attack against Susan making her own LP 0000 which amazes her with how strong her grandson is quickly getting.
"You're so good at this game, I wish I could watch you at one of those competition things." Susan admitted before closing her eyes. "Tomorrow's your birthday remember?"
"Yeah." her Grandson nodded with a smile, "What will I be again?"
"7, and actually... I have something for you." Susan smiled. "It's in my room, a small envelope."
Hearing that Timmy looked curious before walking to help her move with him to her room. She reached into a drawer on her nightstand and took out an envelope before giving it to Timmy. He softly took the envelope opening it. Inside was a card, $200, and three duel monsters cards.
"Grandma... Where did you get these?" Timmy asked her surprised.
"I asked my neighbors if they knew anything about the game you love, and apparently there's a tournament starting this weekend. I thought you deserved to try and compete." she smiled.
He gave a huge smile giving her a careful big hug, "Thanks Grandma!"
"Of course." Susan smiled hugging him back. "Anything for my wonderful grandson."
Over the last few days his birthday was celebrated, and the tournament came around where he is now at the finals against a girl named Kate who thinks she's high, and mighty with her best cards but thanks to the three cards Timmy got from Susan he was able to turn the tables, and earn a win from Kate winning his first ever Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament. The prize was 2000$ which was overwhelming at first but he soon accepted it, and talked with his Grandmother deciding it be best to give it out to charity...
...Well that was the plan before after 3 months, tragedy struck.
Timmy was up as usual humming a happy tune walking to Susan's room to greet himself as usual since she is always up before him knocking on the door, "Grandma, good morning!"
There was no answer.
"Grandma? Are you still asleep?" Timmy asked confused why she didn't answer knocking on the door. When she still didn't answer he slowly opened the door walking, "Grandma?"
When he sees her, she stays completely still with closed eyes, and not moving. Freezing in horror, he reached, and pulled back in shock when he felt she's ice cold before starting to panic getting to the phone, "Help! 911!"
Soon the paramedics arrived, and their checking on her in her room while Timmy waited praying that she's okay in his room hugging his knees close to him.
"Young man?" one of the paramedics asked walking into the room.
He got off the bed in a flash stopping in front of him, "M-Mister, Mister! Is she okay? Is she gonna be fine!?"
"I'm sorry, we did everything we could but... it seems she passed peacefully in her sleep." the paramedic told his. "We've called your parents to come pick you up."
He gasped in horror starting to cry, "No... She can't be... Grandma, don't die... DON'T DIE!"
It was that day that Susan had left him for good. His parents were glad to have him back but only for money not caring about his health often scolding him for crying for Susan saying emotions make him weak telling him wealth is what the first thing he needs to survive in this world which is why they force him to keep the Prize Money from the Tournament he was gonna give to charity.
At the scheduled funeral Timmy in a black suit, and red tie was kneeling in front of the coffin with his hands on it containing Susan as he cried loudly in despair, "Grandma... Grandma!"
"Oh why are you crying?" his father asked. "The old bat is gone, so what?"
For Timmy's part he was really irritated but with Susan in front of him he only ignored him continuing to cry for Susan. When she was buried he couldn't stop tearing up while Susan's lawyer stepped up to the three, "Mr. Floyd Winx, Miss. Trina Winx, and Mr. Timothy Winx, I assume you three are."
"Yes, that's us." a woman answered.
"Well, Miss Susan had written her last will out, and she wants me to read it to all three of you." the lawyer told the three softly.
"The old bat probably left us money. Well, get on with it." an older man told the lawyer.
The lawyer while disgusted expertly hid it while begin reading the will. Susan had written down that she was now in Heaven, and doesn't want to take much of their time. She had gotten to the point where she was disappointed in both Trina, and Floyd for their money obsession, and their care of their reputation instead of the well being of their own son who grew without a mother, or a father's touch where she had to raise him herself, and also wishes for them to change their ways as their are some things money can't buy. And it also reveals that she had left her most prized possession to Timmy himself under the condition that it must not be given to his parents, or anyone else only to him.
He pulled out a small box opening it which reveals a small golden heart locket, and when the lawyer opened it, a picture of Susan holding an infant Timmy was there with a word engrave that said, Proud Grandson on it at the other side.
Timmy so touched at such the inheritance started to sob again while hugging the lawyer who finished reading that when Timmy turns 18 all of her inheritance money will be given to him openly.
"What, the old bat must have lost it at the end. She clearly meant to give us her money, the boy's seven years old he has no use for it." his mother pointed out.
"Her inheritance is meant to be given to who she thinks deserves it the most. As she stated in her will, it's him that she believes deserves it the most, I can't do anything to change things." the lawyer told her simply.
Both of Timothy's parents glared at him.
"Well, you'll obviously give us the money." his mother mentioned with a threatening tone in her voice.
Timmy shuddered while the lawyer shook his head, "I wouldn't hold my breath though. Certain conditions had to be fulfilled, and in her will, he is not to give you anything he inherits from her."
His parents both glared at him hearing that. Since then he had been treated cruelly for the next two years while undergoing training for him to be the image of his parents.
Flashback End...
And now it brings us here where Timmy ran away from the house in tears holding something close while his father who is outraged chased him.
"Get back here you brat!" his father shouted.
Timmy continued running eventually losing his father breathing while in tears before slowly opening his hands revealing the locket had been broken in half, "G-Grandma..." He sobbed while laying on his side in the allyway now homeless finding some sleep.
Meanwhile his mother looked seeing her husband came back, "I heard some screaming, what the hell happened?"
"The brat ran off." he answered before slapping her. "Why did you have to get pregnant you worthless woman?"
She glared with hatred, "How dare you slap me you big worthless brute! Why, I outta-" She suddenly paused before giving an evil looking chuckling looking murderous which confuses her husband.
"What's wrong with you?" he asked her. "Great, a worthless wife who gets pregnant with a damn brat and now she's gone off the deep end. What next?"
"I just got a wonderful idea, husband. One that might work with the old bat's money." she said with a evil grin.
"Well, stop dancing around it and spit it out already." he told her.
"We kill the brat." she answered.
His eyes widened slightly before he frowned. "How does that get us the money?"
"The old bat left him the inheritance, and when he dies before he writes his will, then the lawyers will have no choice but give it to the brat's relatives he is living with. Us." she explained.
"Trina that's almost enough to make me love you." he smiled. "But it can't be traced back to us."
"Oh leave it with me, and my connections." Trina smirked before saying, "Let's get hunting!"
A few hours later Timmy was still sleeping in the allyway not being noticed by anyone but his cards the same ones Susan gave him that are the only cards he rescued from his parent's selling his cards glowed.
Feeling a shift Timmy softly woke up looking around in shock seeing he is in a blue civilized world feeling pure. Everyone was staring at him in a mixture of awe and confusion. Feeling a little of fear he stood up, "I... I won't hurt any of you... I'm... I'm a friend..." The three cards glowed on, and off as he looked at them in his hand, "Dark Rebellion, Clear Wing, Starving Venom?"
"Who are you?" asked a male voice from behind him.
Flinching he turned around seeing a huge man that is muscular with beige armor, and teal skin having a half helmet, long flowing gold hair, and a large cape.
"I-I-I'm T-Timothy... Timothy Winx sir but... Call me Timmy." Timmy introduced as politely as he can, "W-Who are you?"
"My name is Eliphas, how did a human find their way to Astral World?"the man questioned only to pause. "What are you holding?"
"Uh..." he looked to his hands in tears, "Both... the only family I have... The last memories of my Grandma... My locket, and... The cards she gave me... They mean a lot to me..."
"Let me see those cards." the man said simply.
Hearing that Timmy looked a little worried before slowly handing them to him. The man held the cards and closed his eyes. 'Who is this boy, how did he get here?'
"Uh... Can you please be careful with those?" Timmy requested with tears, "Their the last cards, I have, and they mean a real lot to me Mister Eliphas."
Eliphas suddenly gasped. "This is..."
He handed Timmy the cards.
"You need to leave this place."
"Uh... How?" Timmy asked him.
"I'll return you to earth." Eliphas answered. "Farewell, Timothy Winx."
Timmy then screamed as he felt energy lowering him down before blanking out.
A few hours later...
"..ar me?" asked a faint female voice.
Timmy stirred groaning a little slowly waking up.
"Hey, are you ok?" asked a female voice as he noticed a young woman holding what looked like a rocket launcher.
He groaned slowly sitting up, "Ah... What happened... Did I got away?"
"Get away, from what?" the female voice asked.
Timmy reached for his neck only to pale feeling around before looking around frantically, "M-My locket! Where's my locket!?"
"Here." the female voice mentioned handing it to him. "It was next to you."
Seeing the broken locket with it he takes it out hugging it close to him with tears while noticing the three cards are in his pocket.
"So... who are you?" the female voice asked.
Hearing that he finally looks up at who it was that is with him. It was a red-haired young girl with what looked like a rocket launcher. "Are you alright? I found you passed out."
Seeing her he stared before slowly standing up bowing, "Uh... I'm T-Timothy Winx miss... But please call me Timmy."
"Timmy, well my name's Anna Kaboom." the woman smiled before pausing. "Are you staring at me?"
"Uh... sorry it's just... I never seen a girl as pretty as you." Timmy admitted honestly.
"Huh?" Anna asked hearing that before blushing. "Oh... well that's sweet of you."
Timmy looked around, "Where am I? This isn't New Orlens is it?"
"New Orlens?" Anna asked. "It's Heartland City."
"Heartland... City?" Timmy looked around as he asked that, "Then... I'm not home. But... How did I even get here?"
"I don't know, but..." Anna started before blushing. "Timmy?"
"Huh? Yes, Miss Kaboom?" Timmy asked politely standing in attention.
"I know I'm a little taller than you but could you not stare directly at my chest and look up at my face please?" she asked only to pause. "Or we could find somewhere to sit down if you'd prefer."
(A/N (Ulrich362): Timmy is ten and shorter than Anna, he's not doing anything on purpose and she knows that.)
He slowly nodded agreeing to that before he then gasped looking at the locket, "Uh... D-Do you know anything perhaps that can fix my locket?"
"I wish I did, but I don't know anybody who can." Anna admitted.
That dampened his mood looking down, "Oh..."
Anna frowned at that. "Sorry."
They went somewhere to sit while Timmy hold his locket close to his heart not letting it out of his hands.
"Wait... actually there might be someone who could help." Anna mentioned before putting her rocket launcher on the ground before getting on it. "Hop on."
He blinked at this staring confusingly.
"The cannon, get on and hold on tight." Anna mentioned.
He nodded before getting on sitting behind Anna while wrapping his arms around her tight.
"Here we go." she grinned as it took off like a rocket and they flew through the sky.
Timmy screamed from the rocket launching from never being launched in the air like this.
"Don't let go!" Anna shouted back to him.
He wasn't planning on doing that while his arms kept being tight on Anna's stomach. They soon arrived at a mansion with Timmy a little shaken but a bit in awe.
"Wow, didn't crash this time." Anna mentioned. "It's ok, you can get off now."
"O-Okay." Timmy hopped off, "T-That was scary but kind of fun Miss Anna!"
She smiled hearing that before walking up and knocking on the front door. Some footsteps are heard before a gray haired girl wearing a black dress, and glasses with cats ears in her hair answered, "Anna?"
"Cathy... could I ask a favor?" Anna inquired before explaining how she found a young boy unconscious in the middle of the city and how he had a broken locket.
"I thought you could help, or you'd know somebody who could. And I did not blow him up or crash into him."
Cathy smiled, "Oh don't worry, I will purrfectly fix the locket good as new."
"Thanks." Anna smiled at that. "Timmy, come here."
Timmy walked over a little nervous.
"Anna told me about your locket, can I try and fix it for you?" Cathy asked kneeling down gently.
Hearing that Timmy looked at the locket before handing it to her slowly, "P-Please be careful with it."
She took it carefully. "I will be."
Ulrich362: A short opening chapter, but things will pick up very soon for Timmy.
bopdog111: He had a rough childhood, and now he is in a world he doesn't know what it is. How will he react when it's about Duel Monsters?
Ulrich362: Well, he loves the game so there's that. I guess we'll have to wait and find out. See you in the next chapter.
bopdog111: Be sure to review!
