The jewel spit him out, and he lay in a heap on the ground. His blood-filled eyes finally closed. He didnt even care where he was or who was around.
Sesshomaru slept for three days straight, and when he finally woke up and sat up, he was surrounded.
His head hurt.
The Monks and Mikos around him dared not go any closer.
"My Lord?" One make said shakey,
Sesshomaru's golden eyes moved to the monk. "Where is my brother,"
They all looked around, and then, before his eyes, a half-demon girl dropped out of the trees. "He has long since died, uncle,"
Sesshomaru took in the girl. He recognized the fire rat cloth; she wore them as a dress, a little on the sort side like a certain human girl he knew. His eyes went to her face, to the ears that sat on top of her head. Inuyasha had another kid, and she was grown? "How long have I been gone,"
"Forty-two years," She said a matter of factly.
That long! He could not believe it. He thought he would be in there for three of for years, but forty-two?
"How long has my brother been dead?"
"You missed him by two years," She held out two fingers.
"He mated?"
"Hardly, im a bastard child,
At least she was honest, and she didnt seem to care.
"Why did he not destroy the jewel?" He asks, standing.
"Well, we could tell you were still alive, besides he did try once, but the damn thing wouldn't let him, and good thing too," Her ears twitched. "You're taller than I imagined,"
"My Lord, the jewel?" A monk interrupted with a deep bow.
Sesshomaru held the jewel up. He had won, but did he get his wish? He tried to remember. Just then, the jewel rose from his hand and started to fad. Magic drust took its place and started to move. Sesshomaru followed it.
He remembered now. He bargained. He wanted Kagome back. It agreed on the condition that its power be kept alive through her like it had been once before. Only this time, there was no taking it out. It would grant her immortality and keep itsself alive. He had agreed as it was a win-win for him. But now, as he followed the jewel power, he was slightly confused.
He stopped as the dust entered a village and settled into a woman, who sneezed and then placed a hand on her tummy.
He realized quickly what was going on, and his eyes grew wide in shock.
His niece caught up to him. "Where did it go?" She asked,
"To a human,"
"Is it taking over her body,"
"In a sense,"
She looked up at him, confused. Her white hair was a lot like her father's, but she had a small face; she must have looked like her mother.
"She will be reborn," He told her. "I must wait longer,"
It made sense, and he wasn't sure why he had not thought of it before now. Of course, she would have to be reborn. Her body was long gone, and she had zero desire to be clay and ash.
He wasn't sure why the jewel chose this human woman, and it really didnt matter. All that mattered was that Kagome would be born. He would watch over to ensure her safety, and when the time was right, he would go to her.
"Weird," His niece said, "How is she supposed to remember you,"
He looked at the girl who looked just a tab younger than Kagome looked when she first came through the well. "She won't," He told her,
"Wow, that's going to make it a lot harder on you,"
"You have little faith in me,"
"Hey, I dont know you, though you did just defeat the jewel,"
It would seem his brother didnt do him much justice while he was gone.
"Take me to him," He told her.
She smiled "He knew you would ask," She then pointed to her eyes. "Seen but never seen,"
A page out of his own father's book.
She pulled the pearl out of her eyes and handed it to him. He entered alone.
It was barren, much like their fathers had been, but instead of a giant body, only a large stone remained on top of smaller rocks.
It had a slit on the top. He didnt have to leave instructions; Sesshomaru knew what to do.
He stuck the blade in and watched as it sealed in place. It could be pulled out if it was needed, but like his father before him, Inuyasha would protect the sword so that it only went to the right person.
Sesshomaru knew instantly who the seal would break for.
He would have to wait at least seventeen years.
